1 John 3

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

  1. Habitual Sin

“(1John 3:8) Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8 ESV)

There is a difference between committing sin and practicing sin. Those who practice sin are of the devil. People who say “we are saved by grace” and live in sin and proclaim to be Christians are not Christians. If they teach “saved by grace so sin all you want” they are false teachers.

  2. Sacrificial Love

God has not called us to do anything He has not already done. Christian gave Himself for us and He is wanting us to love each other the way He would love.

And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

when we feel we are asking God and He’s just not answering we should evaluate our reationships. Are we right with the people around us? Even the ones that seem to be “diificult” ? Also, are we right with God? I would also evaluate our own lives . Some people are their own worse critic.

Understand that our connections (outtward, upward, inward) all effect each other because the source- which is God is connected to all. Hints, if we become disconnected and try to touch His anointend we will be electricuted. Tye only people that can handle the source of His power are those who are righteous.

  3. 19. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

    20. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

    21. Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence.

    22. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. NLT

When there is sin (and therefore guilt) in someone’s life, it is hard for them to go boldly before God and make their requests known. When they are free from sin and guilt, then they feel free to ask, not with pride or arrogance, but with confidence that their prayers will be answered.

    Hebrews 4:16 KJV
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  4. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!!! AND HE DOES IT ALL WITH ONE THING LOVE, YES LOVE EVERLASTING, LOVE UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF GLORY, A LOVE THAT HUMANS STILL HAVE NOT LEARNED WITH ALL THE LESSONS GIVEN….. NOW PAY ATTENTION THIS ONE IS THE BEST LESSON OF LOVE YOU ARE GOING TO LEARN SO DON’T MISS IT AND READ WORD PER WORD. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
Ok, this means you can not get mad at such and such for not shaking your hand at church. Or because the choir didn’t sing your favorite song, or Lord forbid Pastor taught the truth with out a hair on his tongue YEAH PASTOR FOR BEING OBEDIENT TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. LOVE SUFFERS ALL,/////// WHAT IS LOVE ACCORDING TO 1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-8 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

    5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

AND THEN SHOWED YOU ALL THAT WHEN HE STRETCH OUT HIS HANDS AND GOT CRUCIFIED ON A CRASS, NAILS THROUGH EACH HAND, AND FEET AND FINALLY A PIERCE ON HIS SIDE. THAT IS TRUE LOVE NOTHING LESS FOR NO ONE WILL BE WILLING TO GIVE OR DO THAT FOR YOU RIGHT NOW. ASK ANYONE…..

  5. “Love will keep us together!”

The way we know we’ve been transferred from death to life is that we love our brothers and sisters. Anyone who doesn’t love is as good as dead. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know very well that eternal life and murder don’t go together. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭14-15‬ MSG)

Love….. It may be difficult to show depending on the individual. But when you’ve Expirienced true love from GOD, that’s when you know there’s been a miracle done inside of you!!!

As a child if GOD, I no longer fear, I’m not tormented in my mind, I have peace, I have life! And I’ve been able to obtain this because of HIS love for me!! I was broken as a child, I suffered just as you did. But GOD, had other plans for me, and today I am a different person, simply because of LOVE.
THIS same love if the father is much needed in the body of Christ. Shown and given to those who are coming off from the streets, and one for another in the church.
We need to duplicate the love of Jesus(unconditional) and not love with as the world loves(conditional)

True love allows you to grow, we are not perfect, we make mistakes, just as you make mistakes, so don’t be so quick to judge, and gossip. But show me love, so that I may grow in it.

  6. More Abiding

    1 John 3:6 (NASB Strong’s)
6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.

    1 John 3:15 (NASB Strong’s)
15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

    1 John 3:17 (NASB Strong’s)
17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

    1 John 3:24 (NASB Strong’s)
24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Abide – g3306. μένω menō; a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy): — abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), x thine own.

The principle is clear. Those saved are abiding in him.

Here we have some indicators of whether or not we are abiding in him.

First it is impossible to sin when you abide in him. We cannot be so close, so near, so deep in his presence that we transgress his law. It is obvious from this verse that the moment we sinned we can recognize that moments prior we stopped abiding in him.

Second it is impossible to abide with him and hate our brother. We cannot have aught against anyone and say we abide with him. The moment we tell people we are Christian but are harbor info unforgiveness we are lying.

Third we are not abiding in him, or rather be in U.S. If we refuse to give. Stinginess is anti-godliness. When we shut up our hearts to our brother we prove our location outside of God.

Fourth we know we are abiding in him because we are keeping his commandments. We cannot say we are in him and yet we break his law, or only keep part of his law. There is no such thing as a part time Christian.

Fifth we know we abide in him and he in U.S. When we are full of the Holy Ghost. His spirit is the comforter, the courtroom representative. He will keep us out of trouble if we listen to his voice and follow after him.

  7. 11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

The message today is as always love, love everybody with a true heart. Love God with every fiber in your body and show the world how great God is.
Our love has to be more than the world gives or we will find ourselves like Cain, when things don’t go our way we will turn on our brothers. We need each other and need to love each other with true love.

  8. 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth

The saying goes that actions speak louder than words. We can talk the talk but if we don’t walk the walk to back it up our words mean nothing. Living for Jesus is more than just professing it with our mouths but also professing it with our lifestyle and everything we do.

  9. MORE ACTION

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Nothing says “I Love You” like commitment. Commitment is identified and revealed through “Actions”. The words we say, the deeds we do, the favor we execute. Society has so fragmented the phrase “I Love You” that some perceive to display their love through murder, while others fornicate, others engage in the abomination of sodomy and same gender relationships and call it love.

GOD is LOVE. 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Therefore anything we engage ourselves in the context of Love should please and be approved of by GOD the author, founder and giver of LOVE.

Words so often fail. For much of humanity our word is what we say at times of convenience. The apostle addresses this problem in verse 18 we can say I love you JESUS 1000 times and never do anything to prove it. We are challenged to say I love you JESUS 1000 times and be honest and express our love to him through MORE ACTION.

  10. 7 So, my dear children, don’t let anyone divert you from the truth. It’s the person who acts right who is right, just as we see it lived out in our righteous Messiah. MSG
It is too close to the coming of our Lord and Savior to bail out of the truth now. There are hurting people that need us and God. So let your shine to win the lost.
18 My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. MSG
You know todays words “I love you” are easy for people to say, when i hear someone say ” i love _____, i think of Pastor saying would you die for that person/thing? Jesus said he loves us but he also died for us. Just saying you love someone doesn’t mean anything if you don’t show your love. Our actions speak louder than our words. I want my actions to show the love of God. God show us his love for us so how come we can’t show our love to others. Reminds me of the song iheard when i was younger:
Love, Love, Love just a little bit of love
Love, Love, Love just a little bit of love
It doesn’t take a lot just use what you got
Love, Love, Love just a little bit of love!!!
If we showed as much love as we do talking about someone we could help change someone. Remember people are watching us to see how we how we act if we act in a kind and loving way or just tell them that.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV
So you see in this verse God gave his life, so how come we can’t at least show love and a smile to a hurting person!!! So remember God loves you so what do you have to be sad about today!

  11. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

What seed is producing fruit in our lives? The seed of sin? The seed of righteousness?

Matthew 6:24 – No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

  12. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭16, 18-19‬ NLT)

In the past few chapters we’ve all read lately it talks about loving our brothers and sisters, love is something huge for God and He provided us with an example of love by giving His life for us. That is unconditional love and we need to be that way with our brothers and sisters have that much care and love for them just like family. This love that we should have for everyone doesn’t just get us right with our brothers and sisters but also with God and also makes more unity within the body of Christ.

  13. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

We must love one another as God has loved us. He loved each and every one of us enough to lay his life down for us, how could we not love the people he has placed in our lives? For if we have strife and disunity among us that will get us no where in the kingdom of God. We need MORE love among us!!

1 John 3:2-3 NLT Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is. (3) And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as He is pure.

    The Eager Expectation
All who are eagerly expecting the return of Jesus Christ will keep themselves pure as Christ is pure. If we find ourselves becoming impure than that is a great warning to us that our expectation level is low. We must get our expectation level sky high and then we will find that we will become pure again. Jesus is gonna break open the sky and remove those who are pure and holy from the wrath that is coming. There are some great examples in the Word of God. Noah was lifted up in the ark as the wrath of God came down and Lot was rescued from Sodom as the fire fell down. The same is true when Jesus comes back, we will be removed (if we are pure) and then the wrath of God will fall.

  15. NLT of 1 John 3:16-18
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion – how can God’s love be in that person?
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

We know what True Love is. When we were in need of a Saviour, Jesus gave His life for us. He didn’t just say that He loved us, but He showed (took action) that He loved us.
We need to be the same with our brothers and sisters. If we see one of them in need and have the means to help them, we need to do it (take action). Don’t just say you love them, but show (take action) them that you love them through your time, talent, and treasure.
People may not believe you when you tell them that you love them, but they will believe you when you show (take action) them that you love them.

Actions diffidently speak louder than words!
    MORE Love!

  17. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

All believers still sin, but they are working to gain victory over sin.

  18. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

We can tell people we love them all day, it is when we show love that makes a difference. Showing love to a brother, even a stranger is how we show Christ.

  19. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

This scripture is inspiring because it lets us know that no matter how we may be today one day we will be like him! God will transform this corruptible into incorruptible and this mortal into immortality and our whole lives will be changed. We are thankful for this heavenly promise!

  20. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

This commandent revolves every other one God has given us to live our lifes, including loving God, loving your neighbor and following after the Lord. They are many aspects about being a Christian but in the process let’s not forget where our foundation is, without we do have a base to stand on.

  21. 18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. (NLT)

Love without action, and actions without love are both meaningless and may as well be worthless. There are so many people that need to see and feel the love of God and we may be that only chance for them, but if we decided to be in a bad mood then how many souls are we costing to live an eternity without God. How many people are we just passing by because we’re too concerned about ourselves. God forgive me/us for ever not being an example of Your love!

  22. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭6-11‬ KJV)
If we are truly born of God we will bear the fruits of righteousness. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭18‬ KJV) The Bible says you will know them by their fruit.

  23. v10 In this the children if God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Posseion and profession of the word are not enough, however We MUST keep his commandments. To be a true disciple of CHRIST
    we must love one another.

    MORE LOVE

  24. vs-7
false teachers have little concern for morality as the pressure in some churches to ordain practicing homosexuals makes clear. John warns us not to be deceived. Those who do what is sinful are of the devil not of God

  25. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ESV)

Thankful for my salvation. Lord, your name is great and your blood is more powerful.

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭9-13‬ ESV)
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ESV)

  26. 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Everyone can say that we love others in fact society is all about saying it and not meaning it but love is shown with actions and not words, if we say it and have actions to back up that love it truly is love.

  27. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

The 10 commandments were given to us as a pattern for us love by. But there are so many more commandments the Word of God gives. Loving ones brother or neighbor seems to be the theme of this chapter. This kind of love was demonstrated to us by the One, that gave it all on the cross. Not just for the people present that day, but a love that transcends time. Even until the day he comes for his elect.

  28. “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” If one is pricked in ones heart than one may need to ask self why, repent, and pray about it. The easiest way to identify if there is a situation is to earnestly pray. Dear God, let me see myself as you do; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. In God we trust! What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Without repentance you cannot be a child of God.
That continual sin keeps some from ever knowing God

  30. 20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

God knows everything, he knows everything that is in your heart. He knows when we are genuine.

  31. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
When we get to see Jesus we get to look like him…

    The bakers

  32. More Confidence

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

It is difficult to have confidence towards God with the feeling of our hands being bloody before Him.

    1 John 3:18-22 NLT

18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence.

22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.

Condemnation is not from God or us, it comes from the accuser of the brethren, the devil. It does not bring us to repentance but disrupts our confidence in God’s presence. When we find condemnation creeping in, it is wise to send it packing as soon as we identify it.

    Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  33. Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.
    …….

So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God. This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭6, 10-11‬ NLT)

Being connected to God and thus having His Spirit give us the power to overcome and not sin, and to love like He loves. It’s a matter of Love. When we love one another then we don’t give room to do each other wrong. Sin hurts relationships whether man to with its own kind or man to God. Yet love nurishes the relationship.  If we are able to stay connected, having unity, we then show that we have God’s Spirit within us, we are fruit of His love, loving one another.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” (‭I Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭7-8‬ NKJV)

  34. Manner of love !!!! 1. BEHOLD, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! Help me love more and more !!!! I want to be more like you !!!!

  35. Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭18-19‬ NLT)

Actions speak louder than words! The fruit of a persons labor will identify whether they are on Christs side or the devils. You can’t play on both teams. You’re either a winner in Christ or a loser with the devil. Pick the winning team! Pick Jesus!!!

  36. Verse 1 AMP “See what [[a]an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.” Same verse MSG “What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to.” We need to show the same love that our Father has shown to us in order to reach this lost world that may have never been exposed to such love.

  37. John unveils a truth that is reinforced repeatedly in Scripture: We are the children of God. All who recieve the grace of God through Jesus Christ are adopted as his children. He lavishly pours out on us a flood of heavenly love and acceptance. Paul says it this way “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” (Ro 8:16). What greater confirmation can we have than the Holy Ghost sealing this truth to our hearts? In the Gospel of John we read these words, “Yet to all who recieved him, to those believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (Jn 1:12). In this first letter of John we have his bold decleration: “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 Jn 3:1). Our primary identity can be securely wrapped up in the confidence of being children of God.

  38. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

We need to be sure that we are righteous. We need to be holy. The only way for these things to happen is to be full of JESUS.

  39. “She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.”(Acts‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

She continued to mock Paul and Silas for days because she had a demonic spirit. They were a threat to her wicked lifestyle. They grew tired of the spirits behavior and her. So Paul cast out the demon and it left immediately from her. Her owners were angry because they made so much money off her fortune telling. Carnal people will never like it when you bring light into their darkness.

  40. “Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.””(Joshua‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

In all that thou commandest him, not repugnant to God’s commands; for none can be so foolish to think, that if he had commanded the people to blaspheme God, or worship idols, the people were obliged to obey him therein.

  41. “How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?”‭‭(2 Samuel‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭KJV)

A person may be glad to obtain his just wishes, and yet really regret the means by which he receives them. He may be sorry for the death of a person by which he is a gainer. These men shed innocent blood, from the basest motives. David justly executed vengeance upon them. He would not be beholden to any to help him by unlawful practices. God had helped him over many a difficulty, and through many a danger, therefore he depended upon him to crown and complete his own work.
