1 John 4

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

  1. Little children !!!! 1. BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2. Hereby know ye the Spir’-it of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Je’-sus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1 Cor. 12 : 3 3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Je’-sus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Help me know the Spirit of God !!!! I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST !!!!

  2. If anyone boasts, “I love God,” and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won’t love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can’t see? The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You’ve got to love both. (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭20-21‬ MSG)

  3. The beginning of this chapter speaks of a warning to discern who and what you are taking in or hearing. Know Jesus and Know Truth.

The end of the chapter ends with verse 21 MSG “The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You’ve got to love both.” Same verse AMP “And this command (charge, order, injunction) we have from Him: that he who loves God shall love his brother [[j]believer] also.” This is not an option, or if you want to…..it is a command. Verse 19 MSG says “We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first.” Thank you Lord for loving me!

  4. iLove to eat More Word

1 John 4:17-18 NLT And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. (18) Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love.

When we truly love God, then we will not experience fear. The fear to meet Jesus face to face will not cause any more anxiety. The Word says it is appointed unto man once to die; once we truly fall in love with Jesus we not fear that death, but we will welcome and embrace it.

About 6 years ago, while at work as an electrician, there was an 18 wheeler that swerved into my lane. Everything in my mind went into slow motion and my whole life flashed before me. Isaiah was only a year old and Selah was not yet born…it was like I was looking through a photo album. Image after image flashed through my mind. I saw little Isaiah wrapped up like a tortilla in the blanket at the hospital along with other life events. I remember actually embracing death and welcoming it. I honestly thought that “Today I will see Jesus.” I was ready and there was not any fear of death at all, perfect peace embraced me…Right when I expected impact I threw my left arm up to shield my face and heard a voice in the spirit realm speak to me to “swerve”…so with my right hand made a hard right off the shoulder of the road and then back onto the road at the last minute narrowly escaping death.

When we have the Spirit of God and walk in love, that love will remove all fear and will give us true peace even when we face death.

  5. MORE LOVE = MORE GOD

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Fear is present in our world today as the result of the absence of the LOVE of GOD in the hearts of man. GOD is LOVE; therefore everything we do for HIM should be founded in LOVE. We pray because we LOVE HIM, We Give because we LOVE HIM, We labor because we LOVE HIM, We sing because we LOVE HIM, We Worship because we LOVE HIM. We sacrifice because we LOVE HIM, We are Obedient because we LOVE HIM.

The MORE we express LOVE the less we will fear. By nature the MORE we LOVE GOD, the MORE we Trust GOD. Fear is the absence of Trust.

MORE LOVE = MORE GOD = NO FEAR

  6. NLT – 4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 5 Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. 6 But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

We are overcomes! His Spirit lives within us and is greater than any opposition that we might face. Test, trials and tribulations all come at the approval of the Lord, therefore He is already there at the end waiting on us to come through.

  7. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.

When I read this my mind began to remember a song I would sing as a child, “Oh how I love Jesus/To me He is so wonderful… Because He first loved me.” It’s so amazing to think the master of the universe, the creator of all the world, Jesus, He loves me, He loves you! His sacrifice on the cross was an example of true and perfect love, and because He first loved us, God kept you and me from a life of eternal torment, I/we should always love and obey Him.

  8. NLT 6 But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

We should always listen for God’s voice. God will lead and guide us. At the same time we should accept words of guidance from men/women of God. You should be willing to accept correction and guidance, and not only praise of your works.

  9. 9. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

    John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

He showed us so much love, how can we not at least live for Him and love one another?

  10. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.

What a mighty God we serve that he loves us so unconditionally, so much that he died on the cross for us, that is true love!

  11. MORE LOVE.

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭7-8‬ NLT)

LOVE after all matters the most. If we don’t do everything with love nobody will hear us nobody will or even have interest in God. Cause we don’t show any love. No love pushes away. We need to love and show it.

    Love never fails you.

  12. 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Amen! Just like Evangelist Wright preached to us if anything we feel does not resemble to the gifts of the spirit then it’s not of God. Ever since that preaching I have compared everything that I feel and think if it produces the spirit of God and has showed to me all the things thy I thought were “normal” to be of the devil. The devil tries to deceive us and talk to us like if it would be Jesus but once you learn how the devil works you are able to rebuke Him all the time because the devil will use the same things to try and deceive us. That’s why we should pray without ceasing. 🙂 RESIT the devil and he shall FLEE THE DEVIL IS UNDER OUR FEET

  13. LOVE AN OUGHT
this ought is not a moral obligation but a case of simple appropriateness. We have been loved and so it is only fitting that we be loving.
    LOVE MADE COMPLETE.
Gods love finds its fulfillment on earth when wen love others as He has loved us.

  14. 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Saints must be watchful of the spirits that come at us. Every spirit that we encounter is not a Godly spirit. This is why it is important for us to stay prayed up, so that we may be able to discern the holy spirit from the evil spirit. God is not the author of confusion, so if his word says try the spirits, you better have your guard up.

  15. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭5-6‬ KJV)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭27‬ KJV)
God still uses vessels to speak his word through.
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭40‬ KJV)

  16. 4-6 My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world’s language and the world eats it up. But we come from God and belong to God. Anyone who knows God understands us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of deception.
We are victorious! We are on Gods side and he has already won the battle! Even if people don’t hear us out on what we say, we still have to tell others! We never know who may listen. 🙂

  17. 20, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
21, “And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”

We are a hypocrites if we say we love God while withholding love from others. If we really love God, we demonstrate this by loving others.

    MORE Love!

  18. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

We are of the spirit we obey, error or truth.
We know that we are the children of God by the love we have for God and others. If we don’t love others more than ourselves, the love of God does not dwell in us. We should hear God speak to the church and direct us in the path we should take. The pathway of truth will lead us to God where we can lead others to the Holy Ghost in love. The old proverb says you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar!! Love will take us to the truth!!

  19. 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We are to try the spirits..we should be careful with what we allow into our lives.  The bible tells us to be vigilant, be sober, to pray and watch, and here we see, to try the spirits.  The greatest we see is how we have overcome because greater is He that is in us!    There is a constant battle going on and we have the tools to overcome.

  20. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

The Word tells us that we are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Many times we claim that we love God, and we claim to love our brothers, yet we are disgusted with ourselves, and therefore unable to love our neighbor/brother because we we don’t love ourselves.
We have to forgive, repent and actively judge our own responses and actions more than we do others’, because believe it or not, the universe does revolve around us, but around Jesus, the Creater of the Universe.

  21. 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

You have to know who is talking to you. You also have to train yourself to only listen to the voice of God

  22. v4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that I’d in you, than he that is in the world.

We have overcome through HIS SPIRIT and HIS WORD ” BECAUSE greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world”

    MORE HOLY GHOST

  23. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

When we show love to each other, our neighbors or people on the streets, God’s love is in us and it will cause curiosity in people to want to know what is the reason we showed them that love when the society they live in is selfish and shows no love to them. This is the reason why we need to have a strong relationship with God and have His Spirit in us because the enemy is wanting to destroy us and keep us from letting the world know and show God’s love, but greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, and the enemy is already defeated we just have to keep him under our feet and continue to show this world God’s love! MORE LOVE! 🙂

  24. 1 John 4:16 (NASB Strong’s)
16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1 John 4:16 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
16 And as for us, we have known experientially the love which God has in our case, and we have that knowledge at present, and we have believed and at present maintain that attitude. God is, as to His nature, love, and he who dwells in the aforementioned love in God is dwelling, and God in him is dwelling.

1 John 4:16 (Weymouth New Testament)
16 And, as for us, we know the love which God has for us, and we confide in it. God is love, and he who continues to love continues in union with God, and God continues in union with him.

    1 John 4:16 (AMP)
16 And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.

Love is an attribute of God. When we choose to love, and not hate we draw nearer to God. The word love is sometimes translated as charity. This means that love is about giving. We give of ourselves, and even sacrifice what we want because we love others. True love is about sacrifice. We sacrifice because we care and want to see the best in others happen.

  25. The Truth About Love

The six brief verses paint a picture so vivid that it encompasses the heart of both divine and human love. The starting point: God is love. Without this, nothing else makes sense. God loved us first. He is the One who initiates a love relationship with us and then pursures us with his love. He When we have been apprehended by his powerful love. We have a new address, a new residence; it is called the love of God. This becomes our primary dwelling place. We live in God and his love, and he lives in us. Next, we have a new heart. Bold! Confident! Fearless! The love of God that drives out all fear. The culmination of this love relationship is a transformed life. We are now a new creation. We begin to love one another. We can’t help it. God has so loved us that we begin to relate to others in a similar manner. We have become like him. God loves us, we love him, and that flows into loving others. This is the truth about love. It is perfect, has no fear, no shame, and is not hidden. “17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement, because in this world we are like him.”

  26. 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Love. It’s a choice. We choose to love. Love is unconditional. Love is kind. It is patience. And so much more.

    More love.
    More revival
    More 440

  27. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

God loves us even if we are sinners. We are to love God with all of our heart and soul. God expects us to love one another just like he loves us.

  28. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Amen. If only we all could get the revelation of what happened in the spirit realm everyone we walk into a room. We have the one true God living inside of us! He is greater!

  29. I John 4 God’s Indwelling Love

v.17-18 God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgement Day– our standing in the world is identical with Christ ‘s .There is no room in love for fear. Well -formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life –fear of death, fear of judgement is one not yet fully formed in love.

  30. “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” The word of Jesus (God) is very clear on love. One that cannot pray for another, which the Judge (God) knows if one is sincere, would be wise to pray for self. Dear God, help me to see past self, and love like you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. In God we trust! What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  31. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

God is love. God is not fear. Thus, there is no fear in

  32. Love Like Jesus

Just as hatred does not have place in our relationship with God, so is fear a foreign intruder. Fear outside the godly awe and reverence of the Lord is not part of His love but is a product of the lack of His love, a.k.a. sin, which is separation from Him. The sinfulness of the flesh and the carnality of the natural mind will sows seeds contrary to the Word in our lives if we do not guard ourselves against it. We must keep our hearts and minds so that we can be ready to deflect the lies when they come and not allow them to take root.

    2 Corinthians 10:5
    Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

    Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

  33. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ESV)

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭34-35‬ ESV)

  34. “We love him, because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 KJV)

This is the condition of our love for God. Every good thing He has done for us has been initiated by Him, even our love for Him. We love Him because He loved us. Before Adam was created, God had planned on loving Him. It is this love that guides God’s actions toward us. We must remember it all started with Him. We have no good reason to think we deserve it or that we earned it. Our relationship with God is the response to His relationship with us.

  35. 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

This whole chapter talks about love, and because it’s talking about love, it is talking about God, for God IS love. Love is not a construct that God created or an extension of him, but love is God.

So for when we do not love one another, especially someone who is our own brother or sister or Christ, how can we expect God to bless us for it? For we cannot be trying to live a righteous life if we are going against the very nature and being of God.

Mark 12:28-31 And one of the scribes came and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of the commandments is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is One God. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind and with all thy strength, this is the first commandment. And the second is likely, namely this, Thous shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

  36. 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

He has given us the power to overcome. We have no need to fear!

  37. 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
We cannot say that we love and live for the LORD, yet turn around and bad mouth or mistreat those in your life. It may not be the easiest thing to do sometimes, but it IS what GOD COMMANDS. That doesn’t mean that we let people run all over us or be too passive to others. It does mean that we should have a love for someone enough to say something when we see them on a straight path to hell.

  38. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

#1 fear people face is the fear of Death. Most Christians today live life’s like is tomorrow is there’s. The “there’s always tomorrow” mentality is so prevalent these days, most people are awe struck when there’s is an unprecedented tragedy. Some people even question God, “if there such good people. Why would God allow that to happen to them?”
Death is more common than we realize. Claiming a life every 15 seconds. How can perfect love cast out fear? To a Holy Ghost filled Apostolic, to die is gain. If we love God, we want more of him, dieing does that. You can be filled with God as much as anyone could possibly be, be it not close to be compared to see Jesus face to face.
