Acts 3

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

  1. 5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

When you go to church today (and every time you go), don’t just go thinking it will be an ordinary trip to church, but go expecting to receive MORE of IT.

  2. 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

Peter made it known unto the people what they had done in rejecting Jesus. That the power also to heal the lame man was not from man, but from God.
Peter tells the Iraelites to repent and the times of refreshing shall come from God!!

  3. And his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong…

Everything lands on faith. Faith is a muscle you have to exercise daily so it does not atrophy. There is POWER in the name of JESUS, but it doesn’t get you very far if you do not believe in HIS NAME.

  4. The game changer.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

When God does something for you , we need to share IT. The people knew who he was ,because they too saw him everyday. Did Peter and John see him to everyday? Maybe. If so why didn’t they do this before? The Game Changer! The Holy Ghost! IT gives you power to help people in a deeper level. Thank you Jesus on this great Pentecost morning. That we have the opportunity to experience and intake IT. Your spirIT.

  5. REPENTANCE IS THE KEY

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Change in life is inevitable. Thank GOD we don’t see 20 year olds carrying around a pacifier or 40 year olds carrying a Scooby Doo lunch pail. Truly all change is not bad. In fact, some changes are necessary for growth and success.

The word converted in verse 19 means to revert or turn around (change direction). As we witness a society that is seemingly plummeting to a devils hell at breakneck speed through deception, dishonor and disobedience to the WORD of GOD. The CHURCH must arise with the message of HOPE and HEALING through the GOSPEL.

Lets commit today to make change work through the GOSPEL by encouraging people everywhere to repent.

REPENTANCE IS THE KEY to salvation, healing, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders through JESUS.

  6. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

The lame man expected to receive something from Peter, but not what he received. Too many people are living below their privileges. They are expecting one thing, when in reality they can have so much more.

We, the people of God, must take them by the hand, raise them up and help them receive what the Lord has for them.

  7. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

What do we have to give………. THE SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD, ALSO DWELLS IN US TODAY!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  8. iLove to eat More Word

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

This should be our attitude when we come into the presence of the Lord tonight. We ought to come expecting something from the Lord. When we have that attitude absolutely anything is possible. This man received a miracle because he expected. I pray our expectation level would rise.

  9. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
This is what faith does. When we place our trust in God, He hears our prayers and answers them. we serve a Faithful, Loving God!!!

  10. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Without question this man obeyed when his attention was asked for; without doubt he expected to receive what they had for him. You may be praying for something small from God, so when He answers with something unexpected or maybe begins to steer you in another direction, how do you respond? Do you say “B-b-but God, I prayed for this,” or “God wait what are you doing?” We should never question or doubt our marvelous God who is able to bless us exceeding and abuntant beyond what we could ever ask or think. We may have our little plan in place but God has greater in store; how many opportunities and blessing have you probably shrugged off or denied because it didn’t happen exactly the way you wanted it. Turn your attention to the almighty God, never fear or doubt the way He leads you, because you never know the great blessings He may have in store for you!

  11. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

Wicked ways are when we ask for gold and silver before we ask what can we do or what do you have for me God? God put us first in his mind, he died for us, he didn’tet us suffer that pain but he took it for us. God gave everything for us the least we can do is let God do his works I’m us and put him 1st in our life’s instead of other things that become idols! There is only 1 God that died for us and that’s Jesus Christ!!! 🙂

  12. vs-1
The early Christians worshiped regularly at the temple. Jesus was Israels Messiah they saw no need to make a break with Judasism or O.T. forms of worship. For these early chapters of Acts even the Sanhedrin looked on Jesus followers as sect of their historic faith.

  13. Acts 3:1 One day Peter and Johnwere going up to the temple at the time of prayer at three in theafternoo. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called beautiful where he was out every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him as did John. Then Peter said look at us! So the man gave them his attention expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said Silver or gold I do not have but what I do have I give you.in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth walk. Taking him by the right hand he helped him up and instantly the mans feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk.

  14. 12Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

When miracles happen, people are just amazed, saying how can this be. As Christians we know our God will meet our prayers. We know God is in control and all things are possible with the Lord!

  15. Acts 3:11-12 (KJV Strong’s)

A true miracle of God will always produce harvest. The reason miracles come is for the glory of God. If a miracle comes that doesn’t draw people to Jesus we have to question the source.

Miracles are supernatural manifestations of God’s transcendent ability. A miracle testifies of him because it is always something that cannot be brushed off as coincidence and human effort.

  16. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Miracles and healing are not just for the people receiving it but for the on lookers. It gets there attention on God and increases their faith in Him, allowing God to move in them also.

  17. 10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Amen!! We can’t heal anybody, restore anybody, or much less give them the Holy Ghost!!! Only you can Jesus!!! But what we can do is always be prepared with a clean heart and listen to what God tells us in who to witness and minister to!!! We just need to be willing and let God do His thing all we have to do is obey!!! Your the only one that can change and restore!!! I love you Jesus!!! No other name like Jesus!!!

  18. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (‭Acts‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ KJV)

I don’t have much money to give. But I know a God that can heal and deliver and set free and forgive and give us salvation!!

  19. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. (‭Acts‬ ‭3‬:‭1-8‬ KJV)
Peter was used by God to pray for the laim man for healing. It was not only just for the man at the gate Beautiful but Peter was in tune to the larger purpose of God. All the people gathered around him who crucified Jesus after, this miracle. And it opened the door for him to preach a word of repentance to them. In doing so ,they who believed found salvation .
And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (‭Acts‬ ‭3‬:‭11-15, 19, 26‬ KJV)

  20. 12 And when (Pastor Michael Watts) saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of (Fort Worth), why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

It will be us answering to the people around in this community speaking about us, but we will have to answer to all that it is only the power of God that these things come to pass. It will be out hungry for Him and the holiness we present to him that God will honor and use to bring about these miracles.
I believe we are at the brink of such a powerful move of God that we bring all manner of sickness and disability to POFW that will glory to God! Get ready for the harvest church, it’s coming!
    Today is only the beginning!

  21. Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. (‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬ NLT)

Jesus I repent, for all my sins that,I don’t realize that I did and please forgive me, for lying to my friends, for Iam not ashamed to confess that I have my own sinful mistakes that I make but I know that my mighty God that is great that lives in me will forgive me for my sins, for I decide to turn my life around and give it all to Jesus my father up in heaven, for I know I believe in when I pray to my father because he’s my friend and I can go to him and ask him anything that’s on my mind and he gives his time to me to answer whatever I have to say, for I know that before I speak whatever I have to say to my God he already knows what Iam going to say to him that’s how awesome and amazing my God is!! In Jesus Name Amen!!!!

  22. “And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.” They were amazed because their hearts were hard. One should not be amazed by miracles, one should expect them. Faith in God (Jesus) and his word will turn amazement into expectation. Dear God, thank you for miracles that I have seen, albeit I am expectant of more; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. In God we trust! What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  23. Spiritually crippled

May this same boldness fall on us. Lord, Lead us to those who are spiritually crippled so that we may help them walk in the straight and narrow.

  24. The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. (‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭3‬:‭5-8‬ NLT)

The beggar and Peter had no hesitation in this situation. Peter spoke the word and immediately the lame man responded. We take too long to contemplate on what God my get want us to do. It’s time to be bold in God and do what you were called to do! God gave you commandments to share the gospel. We must do everything in our power to glorify Him. Today is the day!

  25. The end of verse 5 MSG says “….Peter, with John at his side, looked him straight in the eye and said, “Look here.” He looked up, expecting to get something from them.” This crippled man’s obedience was key in receiving something. It might not have been what he was expecting; but, none the less he received way MORE than a handout.

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Matthew 21:22 KJV “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

  26. The ninth hour !!!! 1. NOW Pe’-ter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; John 9 : 8 3. Who seeing Pe’-ter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4. And Pe’-ter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6. Then Pe’-ter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Je’-sus Christ of Naz’- a- reth rise up and walk. Thank you Jesus for Healing !!!! Thank you Jesus for another day to Praise you !!!!

  27. v 3 And as the lame man which was healed held Peyer and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that I’d called Solomon’s greatly wondering.

So thankful that our GREAT GODis not only the GOD of miracles of judgment , but also miracles of life.
    MORE LIFE

  28. Many times people want the preacher or evangelist to give them a specific word, but do they really want it? The man who was at the gate did not chase the man of God around. He did nothing out of the ordinary for him, but the he man of God heard about who to tell the word. All that is obvious. Something that is slightly less obvious us that the man who got the word was ready and willing to do what the man of God said. Maybe we don’t get the word from every evangelist specialized to you the way you want, but that just might be because you won’t respond with faith and joy.

  29. ave I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

A simple thought came to mind that can bring a great deal of thought to our lives… How full is your faith pocket? Most of us if not all of us, have experienced something like this. A less fortunate person with what ever condition may ask of our help or alms… And the majority might go directly into their pockets and see if they have some change, others maybe dig in their pocket for the wallet and take a couple of bills… But I got to thinking really hard on this. What made Peter super Peter or more especial that he could have faith to do this? Well he was just as frail and human as any of us. So that being said why shouldn’t we believers, Christians, disciples of Jesus be doing the same thing? It’s just a matter of faith. How much faith did you take before leaving the house? I see here another gray reason for reading the blog, for getting into the Word of God because faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Wow imagine.. Ok I’m about to leave let me grab some faith for the road. I might needs a few coins of it, or a lot of it. The thing how thing is how much are we taking in? That we may use it later. It might not be a person on a wheelchair that you may encounter, although you can, but your co-worker who is crippled in his/her heart or spirit and in the name of Jesus, such as I have give I thee, speak a word of faith, or simply speak life and love on them. Such as I have give I… What do I have? I have IT!! The Holy Spirit in me, I can speak life in the name of Jeaus, I can pray. I can speak peace into a storm all in the name of Jesus.

And what great example does Peter give us, because faith without works is dead, he took him by the right hand and Lifted him up. It’s time to reach out for those that are hurting and lost.

Before we leave the house we should check and make sure we open the Book and grab some faith for the road. You might just need to dig into your faith pocket and say, “in the name of Jesus”
There is power in the name of Jesus!

  30. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

12 Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

As we are living testimonies, we must always be aware of our surroundings. If we are distracted we could miss an opportunity to witness. Verse 12 says Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. Don’t allow distractions to miss your opportunities, we have to spread this word and win this city.

  31. Act 3:6-10
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
    (ESV)

This is what outreach does. When you give a stranger a kind word, a helping hand, or even an ear to listen. When we show God’s love through our actions, a smile and even our attitude, we too can restore those whose foundation is week and can’t walk, so they can also come and worship God for what He has done in there life. It’s all so God can receive Glory and other can see His power.

  32. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Even when we don’t feel like we have a lot to offer, one thing we can give to people is the name of Jesus. There is no greater name than his name, and behind this name is the same power that raised him from the dead and the same power he gives to everyone who believes in him. If we only realize what we have, we can help so many people receive his name, just by speaking his name, miracles happen!
