Acts 27

1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.

2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

  1. God…please help us.

I Love you Jesus. I thank you Jesus for being there and giving me the words to say in time of stressful times.

I can call upon your name and be saved just like the men were that paul spoke to in the ship. It’s important to be not only hearers of the Word but doers too.

Love your neighbor as you love yourself…you may just be able to save them from going to the place called hell .

  2. 23. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,

    24. and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’

Have you ever wondered how many train, plane, ship, or automobile wrecks God has intervened in and prevented because one of His servants was involved? He would have spared the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for only ten righteous, and in this passage he spared 276 people because of one…serving God has many rewards, both earthly and eternally!

  3. This chapter is captioned “A Storm at Sea” in the MSG version. Many peoples storms are not only at Sea, but; on land, at work, at home, in their families, etc. I can only imagine what the none believers felt or thought of what Paul told them in verses 23-26 MSG “Last night God’s angel stood at my side, an angel of this God I serve, saying to me, ‘Don’t give up, Paul. You’re going to stand before Caesar yet—and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.’ So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me. But we’re going to shipwreck on some island or other.” Did they believe???? Unfortunately no…some still tried to jump ship. We have to take heart, not give up and keep believing (trust) in God’s plan for our lives. If we stay on course, we too, can be used by God to save many (MORE) as Paul was.

  4. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

Paul let these people know they should have listenned to him.
A great message to all of us is too always listen to the man of God!
Paul then after prayer (this is what I think he was doing, after long abstience) came back to tell them, be of good cheer! Paul told of his Angel that appeared to him whose I am and whom I serve. We all have angels watching over us, I thank God everyday for his protection!

  5. 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

Great consequences are to be paid when you choose not to obey the voice of GOD.

To bad we have to keep going in circles until we learn.
‘Learn from the mistakes of others’ it is usually said, but unfortunately you rather learn in your own. And that is ok. The thing is that you can get so caught up in your self righteousness that you’ve become so blinded and numb to the Holy Spirit. And it’s not a good place to be in, you’ve caught up in the web of deceifulness, and that’s exactly where you were wiling to be placed at. Satan has you and plays with you and is just waiting to destroy your soul.

These issues that you’re in is because you brought them among yourself it’s the fruit of what you’ve sown…that spirit of rebellion.
Obedience, allow it to guide your feet into righteous living. So that you may not die, but live!!!!

  6. Child of God!
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

What a powerful verse; “…whose I am and whom I serve,” Is there a more powerful statement than I am a child of God? The declaration of this statement is innumerable. With it comes the claim of all the benefits of being a child of God. Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

  7. 4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

When you walk WITH God you will move faster than walking against or diagonally.

  8. Acts 27:10 (NLT)
10 “Men,” he said, “I believe there is trouble ahead if we go on—shipwreck, loss of cargo, and danger to our lives as well.”

Sometimes all we get is a warning. The man of God will speak a word, and we must choose to accept it or reject it. If we reject the man of God it really isn’t him we are rejecting.

    1 Samuel 8:7 (NLT)
7 “Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied, “for it is me they are rejecting, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.

The word tells us that if there is danger the watchman must warn lest the blood of others be on his hands.

    Ezekiel 3:19 (NLT)
19 If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.

Once the warning has been given the man of God is free of guilt if anything happens.

We cannot play with the word of God. It is forever settled.

    Acts 17:30 (NLT)
30 “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.

Our daily lives need to be characterized by spontaneous sprints to the altar. Repentance at the ready, humility at the base, and a realization that if it wasn’t for the Lord where would we be.

    Matthew 5:19 (NLT)
19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

  9. It doesn’t matter how desolate a situation may seem, when you have the favor and covering of God you will always be protected. Hallelujah!

  10. 9We had lost a lot of time. The weather was becoming dangerous for sea travel because it was so late in the fall,c and Paul spoke to the ship’s officers about it.

This chapter reminds me of the trials we go through life, going from one point to the next. While going through these trials a lot of time is being wasted. We’ve got to praise during our trials and thanking God for what we have, and having a positive attitude.

  11. 42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

Good actions brings out the best in people. Sometimes the good action of only one person will save so many other people. Look Abraham when the Lord was going to destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, I mean how many times does Abraham tries to find a good person for God not to destroy it. Finally finishes saving his nephew LOT and his family except for the wife because she looked back. THAT IS ONE THING WE MUST REMEMBER!!!!!! YOU MUST NEVER LOOK BACK FOR THE FUTURE THAT GOD IS BUILDING YOU IS A PATH FULL OF SUCCESS, Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Now, you should NEVER FORGET WHERE GOD TOOK YOU OUT OF BUT NEVER GO BACK…FOR YOU SHOULD ALWAYS KNOW LIKE NO ONE ELSE KNOWS WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE FOR YOU. REMEMBER Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

“And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    http://bible.com/1/act.27.10.kjv

This is one of the reasons why we must be connected to our man of God and not take it personal when he gives us advise. Most times, folks turn a deaf ear to advise that goes against their plans.

We should alway take the advise of the man of God over other people’s advise. 😃

  13. 33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

Be encouraged all is goIng to be ok because God said it to Paul.
God saved Paul from the storm along with everyone else in the ship he was in. What a mighty God we serve . He protects you when your in the eye of the storm and you have no one (seek God he is life and the way). Be encouraged and follow The man of God he’s talking to Jesus on your behalf. Paul fed everyone in that boat, love and treat your enemies with love and kindness just like Paul did here.

  14. 25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. (NLT)

It will always be and always happen the way God said, whether we chose to listen and follow is another thing. Just as Paul said, we should be of good cheer and rest assured in His plan, believe God and trust Him; God will never steer you wrong!

  15. 21 – 22 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.

We are blessed with an on time providing God; during the dark He will send a light!

  16. 43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

The influence of a man (or woman) of God is able to free others who are bound.

  17. I’m so thankful today that we can depend and trust in the word of God. In this chapter we see the faithfulness of God. No one was to be hurt and lives were not going to be lost. Great is the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  18. Acts 27:9-14
These verses remind us how important it is to heed to the words and the warnings that Pastor gives to us. Because if we don’t, we can get ourselves into some mighty big trouble.
    Acts 27:21-24
And when we don’t listen and get ourselves into trouble, these verses should make us Thankful for a Pastor who Prays for us and hears God speak to him, so that, we might be saved.
    Acts 27:31
We need to heed to verse 31, “… Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.”

Heed to the words and warrnings of Pastor.
Be Thankful for a Pastor who Prays for you and hears from God.
Stay in the ship, so that, ye might be saved.

  19. 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

We must be careful which voice we listen to. Paul was giving a warning that would save their live, while the centurion chose to listen to the owner of the ship and in the end it cost that owner his ship and everything on the ship, except their lives. I am reminded of a message of a few years ago that Bro. Tallant preached “The high cost of a bad decision.” Sometimes choices we make are based on what we see, not what we are told by those that can see more or better than we can and if we don’t heed the warnings it can cost us greatly.

  20. Get to land !!!! 42. And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape. 43. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: 44. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land. Acts 27 : 22 I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!!

  21. MORE FOCUS

15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

    18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

Storms are a season in our lives. We are BLESSED to have wisdom and guidance from the LORD himself when our Pastor, Deacon or Elder are not available. Paul was the only believer on this boat. He could not call or text his man of GOD. But he could and did call on the name of JESUS and the LORD gave him specific instructions. This principal alone makes the voice of the LORD invaluable to us. If we know his voice in the sunshine we will also know his voice in the storm.

The storm that Paul finds himself in is one that is out of control and out of his hands.

2 Things We should Do in a Storm

    1. Stop attempting to control it. “Let her DRIVE”. Trusting GOD is the greatest display of FAITH that we could exhibit.

    2. Lightent the LOAD. Place MORE FOCUS on the voice and things of GOD than on anything else in the world.

We are tempted by our flesh to fix every problem and slove every dilemma, to make us look like heroes or smart. It is ok to say I don’t know what GOD is doing but I will Pray with you about it. None of us know the answer to everything.

Often people feel overwhelmed by their involvement in the Kingdom and therefore the Kingdom work is the FIRST commitment to suffer, people tend to lighten their commitments to GOD and HIS Church. However it is the temporal things of this world that we should seek to release and be released from. Don’t carry burdens and loads that you cannot do anythign about. Some people enjoy their poverty and will not allow us to help them. We must “Let her DRIVE”.

MORE FOCUS on the Kingdom of GOD keeps our minds sharp and our lives secure in HIM. We will brave storms, but never alone. We will be wise to leave some weights and burdens behind and lighten the ship.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  22. 13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called
    Euroclydon.

    Euroclydon- a northeasterly wind.

A warm sunny afternoon about mid 80s, light southern breeze on the beach with a glass of sweet tea. Watching the waves and hearing the birds. Then all of the sudden the wind changes to a cold northeastern wind the waves become very choppy and the birds find shelter and yet your stuck on the beach.
Doesn’t life feel like this sometimes. Things are going great then all of the sudden it just changes and things get turned upside down.
When I read this it reminds me of the disciples when the storm came up and Jesus was asleep. He spoke and the storm stopped. Some times we must go through the storms of life. If we never went through the storms how do we know what we are capable of? As the old saying goes ,” what doesn’t break us, only makes us stronger.”

  23. This chapter shows me that everyone has a journey to take and throughout the journey there will be people telling you things some are listening to God and others to themselves. So it’s our job to be connected with God to know who is helping us in our walk. Otherwise we can go down a hard storm and even think we are dying when God is saying just hold on.

    Stay connected

  24. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

If God makes a promise unto you, do not doubt him! It will come to pass, but on his timing not ours! That is where people get confused, when it doesn’t arrive when they want, do not fear, God knows what he’s doing, for we serve an on time God!!

  25. 41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

Paul is a prime example of the relationship we can and should have with christ in the midst of our trials. He never failed to hear from God and God never failed to protect and provide for him like Paul knew he would.

  26. 21 With our appetite for both food and life long gone, Paul took his place in our midst and said, “Friends, you really should have listened to me back in Crete. We could have avoided all this trouble and trial.

22 But there’s no need to dwell on that now. From now on, things are looking up! I can assure you that there’ll not be a single drowning among us, although I can’t say as much for the ship – the ship itself is doomed.

23 “Last night God’s angel stood at my side, an angel of this God I serve,

24 saying to me, ‘Don’t give up, Paul. You’re going to stand before Caesar yet – and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.’

25 So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me. MSG
We are all gonna have trails and problems how we handle them is going to determine if we have to go back thru that trail. Working where i work at I have seen several clients complain cause they hear voices in their head, and as I read this chapter I thought to myself who are we listening to? What or Who are we letting lead our life? I am so thankful that I have a God fearing Pastor that tells me like it is and preaches the truth. Yes, the truth hurts us sometimes but I had rather here on earth than when i get to the pearly gates and not make it. It is not time to give up on God it is time to pull harder than ever before. Don’t dwell on the past it can’t be changed so why worry about it, let the past be the past and look towards the future and today.

  27. 31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

As a former backslider i can truly say, Stay in the boat! God has a protection over his church, you may not understand, you may be frustrated, you may not know what to do. Stay in church, eventually your answer will come, your circumstance can an will change.
Those soldiers didnt hear what the man of God told the centurian. They where just following orders. And because of their faithfulness God spared them all. Be faithful to the authority God has placed in your life.
And even if there is no clear understanding of what you need to do in the storm God will protect you. Stay faithful to Jesus and the church.

  28. It’s good to have by your side an Angel of the Lord ( Messenger), and to listen to a Man of God. You can avoid a lot troubles if you did…..

    “Ear to hear”……………….

  29. 23. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,

    24. and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’

See gun shots and etc.. That happen Towards his people will not succeed he will always protect you we need Jesus people .

  30. 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

There is no catch, when God says he will do something he will do it! Don’t lose faith in God everything is on Gods time not ours, have faith and God will answer! 🙂

  31. Acts 27:23-25 For there stood by me this night the Angel of God,Whose I am,and Whom I serve,24)Saying,Fear not,Paul;you must be brought before Caesar:and,lo,God has given you all them who sail with you.25) Wherefore, sirs,be of good cheer:for I believeGod,that it shall be even as it was told me.

  32. “Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.” All appeared calm, just as it had always been, and Paul the man of God’s warning was ignored. As we read on they were unwise not to heed the man of God, just as others were also guilty of throughout the word of God, and history. The situations taking place today also appear un-alarming to many, as the world is ignoring the word of God and true man of God. Dear God, let me not be so blind, deaf and prideful that I ignore the word of God or man of God; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off

Stay on the ship! Paul gave this admonishing to all the people that were with him. If they stayed they would live but if not they would die. Just like Paul if we stay in the ship and are faithful to the church and to God we will live. We must stay connected to our lifeline to make it

  34. 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

What great trouble and shipwreck we can avoid by listening to the man of God in our lives. God is merciful enough that your life might be spared but what loss could have been avoided. Let God speak into your life. He has put you under the leadership and covering of a man of God.

  35. Traveling can be fun if you are with family and friends on vaction, with sites to see and things to do. It can also be tedious and stressful. Here Paul traveled by ship. Traveling by sea has been around since long before the days of Solomon, who gathered most of his wealth from the far corners of the earth in his fleet of ships. Small fishing boats on the Sea of Galilee carried no more than a dozen fisherman. There were also huge ships that carried Paul and 275 others (vs37) as well as cargo. The first-century historian Josephus wrote of traveling to Rome on a ship with 600 people on board In the first century much of the world’s trade was done on the seas. There were well-developed routes and harbors, as well as dependable seasons for safe travel. Not much was safe about Paul’s travels though every trip seemed to have some sort of turbulance with storms and great difficulty. Our travels have advanced with the technology with trains, buses, and planes. This doesn’t mean that our journey however technologically advanced will go smoothly. In times of trouble Jesus will be our anchor.

Hebrews 6:19 “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

  36. 9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
we should always listen to our man of God

  37. “Then the sailors tried to abandon the ship; they lowered the lifeboat as though they were going to put out anchors from the front of the ship. But Paul said to the commanding officer and the soldiers, “You will all die unless the sailors stay aboard.” So the soldiers cut the ropes to the lifeboat and let it drift away.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭27:30-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Be a fool once, shame on me. Be a fool twice, straight up dumb. When you’re given a warning from the man of God you should really listen. Ppl like this are used to help aid in directing you back to the right path. These men ignored Paul once but soon realized he was there to help rather than harm. Pastor and Sis watts along with those above you are there to help you. Appreciate the small things like this.

  38. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Listen and obey THE MAN OF GOD!!!

  39. Acts 27:31 This verse with verse 24 illustrates the relationship between divine sovereignty and human responsibility. Though God has unconditionally promised to Paul that every life would be spared, Paul warns that the sailors must stay on board to man the ship. The sailors had a responsibility to fulfill (vv.39,40).

  40. 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. (‭Acts‬ ‭27‬:‭25‬ NIV)

For our lord said to keep courage in ourselves stay faithful and walk righteousness and obey his word and commands and just as he told his children it will happen for I believe it and I will receive it from my savior and give him the glory for he can shine mighty upon the earth!!! For,I believe that God will do what he said he will do just as he told his children!! For,Paul’s confidence for he had in the word to the troubled sailors on a storm-tossed ship for, it expressed the essence of what Paul meant to put our faith in our God and His Word. God said it to Paul (through an angel) and Paul said, “I believe God. In Jesus Name Amen!!!

  41. 20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

How refreshing to hear the word of the Lord in such a dark and discouraging place and state of mind. No matter the situation life hands out, God is ready with a word for us if we-like Paul-would spend some time and seek his face.

  42. 42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

Because they listened to Paul’s wise advice and believed that he heard from God and was sending a message from God to them, their whole ship was saved, that is why we need to listen to God’s voice in our lives.
