Acts 28

1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

    Read Proverbs Chapter 16

  2. See Paul was faithful to God and a true servent . His servent acts brought out a viper out of the fire, though it didn’t just nibble on him it fastened on his hand . He wasn’t like if yall wouldn’t of gathered it this wouldn’t of happened , he didn’t even scream God why why no he just shook the snake of his hand into the fire.God wasn’t just gonna let Paul die by a snake . he was protected . He hasn’t even made it to Rome yet witch was promised . (Acts 23:11) nothing will stop God promises. Paul was a faithful man and had a future of blessing and protection ahead of him . FYI there’s only one God and his name is Jesus this is a typical mistake us humans make I guess towards situations like . Just give all the glory to him . 😅

  3. This chapter begins in verse 1 with “Once everyone was accounted for and we realized we had all made it……”. There are still so many MORE that need to be accounted for. We cannot stop or let up; but, continue to fight for this city.

They went from a shipwreck to spend what Paul described as “We spent a wonderful three months on Malta…” in verse 10. Genesis 50:20 CEV says “You tried to harm me, but God made it turn out for the best, so that he could save all these people, as he is now doing.”

The end of the chapter reminds us to keep going as Paul did….as the end of verses 30-31 say “…..He welcomed everyone who came to visit. He urgently presented all matters of the kingdom of God. He explained everything about Jesus Christ. His door was always open.”

  4. 3. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

    5. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

A serpent, also called the beast, was cast into the fire…a sign of things to come?

    Revelation 19:20 KJV
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

  5. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

When we are preaching truth, we should have confidence that the Lord will be with us and bless our efforts. We should speak with boldness and have no fear.

  6. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

The problem they had in that day is still a problem today. People have ears to hear and cannot hear, they do not perceive that the words spoken of Jesus are words of life.
Salvation is sent unto us through Jesus Christ!

  7. Eyes but no seeing, ears but no hearing

    Acts 28:26-27 (NLT)
26 ‘Go and say to this people:
When you hear what I say,
    you will not understand.
When you see what I do,
    you will not comprehend.
27 For the hearts of these people are hardened,
    and their ears cannot hear,
and they have closed their eyes—
    so their eyes cannot see,
    and their ears cannot hear,
    and their hearts cannot understand,
and they cannot turn to me
    and let me heal them.’

Why is it that they could hear, but not understand? How could they see and not comprehend? There were in the middle of what God was doing but far away from God at the same time.

The KJV says their hearts waxed gross. This means that their hearts thickened over process of time. It wasn’t all of a sudden, but rather little by little, day after day.

Religion will not save us. We can go through the rituals, the motions, and the program. We can do everything that we are told, wear the best church outfits, and use our million dollar smile. We can even run, jump, dance, scream, and shout but be thousands of miles away from God in our heart.

They waxed gross because of the ritualistic lifestyle without the God who was the reason for their being.

If we aren’t careful we can do the things of God without the God of those things. We choose to either seek his hand or his face. We seek his presents, or his presence.

They couldn’t hear, and see because over time they forgot their first love, and had dulled their senses.

  8. 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence

What more could you say about a man!

  9. When we see with our eyes and hear with our ears we no longer deny what is going on around us. When we start accepting, open ourselves up, let God in, He will heal us.

  10. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

I have been in the situation to see and not perceive and hear and not understand. I have also been in the situation to perceive and understand. I prefer to perceive and understand. What comes to mind was a hunting trip with my grandfather when I was young. We walked through the woods at 430 in the morning to get to our deer stand before daybreak and before the deer started moving. Sitting in the dark surrounded by unfamiliar shapes and sounds one’s eyes has the ability to distort reality. There appeared to be creatures lying all around which daylight later revealed to be bushes and shrubs.

There were cries and moaning in the darkness which daylight later revealed to be branches rubbing against another branch. My first time in unfamiliar surroundings, I did not understand what I was hearing or what I was seeing. However the presence of light revealed and defined my understanding and perception. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

  11. 27 For the hearts of these people are hardened,
    and their ears cannot hear,
and they have closed their eyes—
    so their eyes cannot see,
    and their ears cannot hear,
    and their hearts cannot understand,
and they cannot turn to me
    and let me heal them.

  12. iLove to eat More Word

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

These scriptures are teaching me a life lesson. We cannot look at misfortunate situations in life and Judge folks by it. It rains in life on the just and unjust. These pagans were sitting around Paul waiting for him to die… Maybe one of them could’ve try to help Paul instead of gossiping about how Bad he was.

  13. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Thank you Jesus for sending the salvation of God to us Gentiles . So this scripture says that we will hear it. But lets be not just hearers only but doers of the word.
To be a powerful man or woman of God we have to apply this word to our everyday lives. We are the only Jesus some people ever know. You want to change your world, let this word consume you . Live it, breathe it, give them the real true and living God. This man Jesus.

  14. Acts 28:28
“Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.”

Eph. 3:6, “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.”
    Romans 15:9-13
9, And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
10, And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
11, And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
12, And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
13, Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Thank You JESUS that Salvation has come to us.
We Glorify you Lord for your Mercy!
    We Rejoice in you Lord!
    We Praise you Lord!
    We Trust in you JESUS!
Thank You for Joy and Peace and for the Hope we have in you JESUS!

  15. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

The viper, the enemy, satan, always in the lake of fire; for that is where he belongs. Best part is Paul knew that so what does the word says: 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
    — He put him back where he belong. That is what some of us need to learn to do to shake him off and put him back where he belong. The word says that the locals thought he was a god… he was and is no god; however, he knew that greater is He who lives in him that he that is in the world. That simple, send lucy back where he belongs. In Jesus Name, AMEN!!!!!!!! I do it every time I stand up!! Guess what I AM STILL STANDING.

  16. 28 So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.”
29, And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, greatly disagreeing with each other.
30 For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him,
31 boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.

Even though some may shut us down and disagree with what we know is the truth, there are always more people. If one doesn’t want to hear what you had to say, then move on to the next! You’ve done your deed and planted a seed of truth in them, just continue to pray for them that someday their eyes and ears would be open to understanding. Don’t let it discourage you, just move on, because I can guarantee there is someone who is truly hungry for Jesus and to hear His truth, they are just waiting on us to move on to them,

  17. Acts 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man for bidding him.

Paul seeks their prayers in his behalf, that he may boldly make known the. ….gospel and speak it boldly as it ought to be preached
    No
Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth and boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel , v.20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds : that therein and I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

  18. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

God is always going to have a people that is listening to Him and responding to His word. If it is not us, He will pass us by just like He did the Jews and turned to the Gentiles.

In years past God has spoken many a great prophesies in the region of Fort Worth that have yet to come to pass. My desire is for God to use the POFW Church Body for those prophesies to come to pass. However, if we don’t listen and obey, He will pass over us just like the churches from the 70’s, 80’s. He will find willing vessels. I believe we are the CHURCH that is rising up to shew forth HIS glory in these last days and HE will pour out those prophesies of great REVIVAL, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, SIGNS and WONDERS and POFW will lead the way to REVIVAL in our region.

  19. MORE TESTIMONY

Again the LORD has opened the door to Paul. The opportunity to share JESUS comes MORE often than we recognize. May GOD help us to take advantage of the opportunities to share our story about JESUS. His death, burial and resurrection. His New Birth offer of Salvation through Repentance, Baptism in JESUS name and the promise of the Holy Ghost outpouring on all flesh.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGo
    iGive
    iReap

  20. Acts 28:9
talks about people on a island were sick and the were healed by god

we have to pray everyday to god and thank him for are life that we are not sick and that we are not weak More Prayer. AMEN

  21. 26 Go to this people and say: Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand And seeing you will see, and not perceive 27 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them. God what’s to heal us and blessed us.

  22. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Your test may be the testimony that someone is looking at.

We have all heard the phrase,” You are your greatest testimony.” Yet how we act and treat the test says a lot too. An elder once told me actions speak much louder than words. And oh how true that is. We can talk the talk, but if we don’t walk the walk, we have tanted our testimony. We must have a testimony that is not easily spoken bad of.

  23. The danger of presuppositions (beliefs already held)

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

These people had a preconceived notion that someone was being judge by the gods if he or she was bitten by a snake. This was a very common belief in ancient Rome. God used this example, however, to glorify himself and show the people that Paul was a man of God. People are always watching us. Are we in a position for God to show his glory through us?

The danger of presuppositions is that we can jump to a conclusion to soon or discredit a truth. We must always be wiling to observe the evidence, just as these people saw that Paul did not die. If someone would have walked away believe he would die, they would miss out of the miracle. We must not let our prior beliefs cause us to miss out on what God has.

  24. confidence….vs.31

I THANKYOU Jesus. You can put me in a certain place and I can speak about you,.JESUS. your word travels all over. I pray that you,Jesus, can protect me where you put me. In the fire you,Jesus, you are there. In the mountains you Are There. All places you, Jesus, You are there. You’re just a praise away.

  25. 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Paul was a faithful servant of God. He was on a mission to win lost souls to Jesus. He never gave up, he became Kingdom minded spite of the struggles his own people put him through. Paul’s persistence to defend himself from accusations saved his life and he gained peoples respect as he healed the sick through the power of God. Paul shined for God. Let us shine for you Lord, use me to do you mighty will.

  26. 2The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold.

When you come out of the storm alive God will bless you, and sometimes even through the most unlikely people. People you didn’t know, or didn’t acknowledge til that moment. These people were described as “barbarians” and nothing about the word brings a warm, fuzzy welcoming feeling. He will show is divine favor through unlikely sources.

  27. Church preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence. Not lacking nor being Intimidated by anyone nor anything……….

Remember don’t cast off thy confidence………

  28. More Hospitality

2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

When we think of showing good hospitality at church, we tend to go first to greeting people at the door as they come in, shaking their hand at Meet & Greet, and taking time to talk with them after service. But here Paul mentioned that the native people of the island showed them great kindness and hospitality by first building a fire. We can be the best church in town when it comes to opening doors, shaking hands, and sharing smiles, but if we don’t first kindle the fire of the Holy Ghost, our hospitality will fall short of what it should be. Wherever we are—at church or otherwise—our hospitality as saints of the most high God starts with having that roaring fire of the Holy Ghost in us so that all who are weary, cold, and soaked by the storms of life will find refreshing and the true flame that ministers to their soul.

    1 Peter 4:9 AMP
Practice hospitality to one another (those of the household of faith). [Be hospitable, be a lover of strangers, with brotherly affection for the unknown guests, the foreigners, the poor, and all others who come your way who are of Christ’s body.] And [in each instance] do it ungrudgingly (cordially and graciously, without complaining but as representing Him).

  29. 22 But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about this movement is that it is denounced everywhere.”

It sounds like the events going on today. Christianity little by little is being denounced in some form. But there are so many that want to hear the Word and are hungry for the Word. We have to continue to study the Word, to we can present it when the opportunity presents itself.

  30. “He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!”(Acts‬ ‭28:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

For we proclaim the kingdom of God and we are not ashamed to tell the word of the lord Jesus Christ and let people know who we believe in with all boldness and without hinderance!!! Preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern to the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, for though Paul couldn’t travel but for,he could teach the word and preach to all who came to him – and this he did!!!! In Jesus Name Amen!!!

  31. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

They had one of the greatest reason and explain the word and I’m pretty sure preach it to them with boldness and anointing, yet some still did not believe. Like so, there people today. Some will hear you out and some will not. The thing is to keep on speaking Jesus. No matter to who or in what place. Wherever Paul was he spoke about the name Jesus and what mighty things he had done. Do not get discouraged if some one rejects the message. The Lord said that they are not rejecting us but rejecting him which is even sadder. But be of good cheer and keep on proclaiming the gospel of truth for the Lord will be with us till the end.

  32. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

This passage shows how important it is for us to tell our testimony. Our personal healing rather it be physical, mental, or emotional will boost others heard faith to believe God will heal them too.

  33. God watches over his people no matter what situation we’re in. When you abide by God’s word there is nothing that you can’t overcome. God helps us to make it through.

  34. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

They were ruled by the Romans and not by themselves, which in that day for good or bad was accepted. There were many that heard of the power of God (Jesus) and of the salvation of God, yet they did not truly hear. The world today is waxing worse and going further away from God instead of to God. Because the ear heareth, but the prideful heart heareth not; for if the heart truly heard then the church of the living God would be full, and prayer and worship would shake more than the building. Dear God, let me hear; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  35. 2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

They don’t show just a little kindness but much of it. To be a good server one must show much kindness no matter who it is to.

  36. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

This is beautiful…. Others came because they saw the great things that happened. Others are going to come to God because they are going to witness and see a change that no man can do but only God. my husband and I have been testifying to others of the great things God has done in our lives because we were at the point of divorce when we first came to POFW. However, We started getting closer and closer to God and fixing everything at the alter and God has made our relationship stronger and made us overcomes. Everyone that we have told has been amazed because they would’ve never guessed that, but that is the power of my Lord Jesus Christ.

  37. Act 28:3 — Act 28:6
When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand.
When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”
He, however, shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.
They were waiting for him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw no misfortune come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

Problems, trials, tribulations, miss fortunes, can come out of no where and strike us when we least expect it but if we are walking in the Holy Ghost, we are protected. All we have to do is is lift up our hands and put it to the fire and God will take care of it.

  38. 25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
Even though not all agreed with what Paul believes to be true, these people still listened and at least considered what he was saying. There was wisdom to what they were doing; they did not react rashly just because there was a person who had different reasoning than them. Rather, they allowed the True seed to be planted in their minds and hearts. It’s a starting ground for their death or their salvation.

  39. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

So thankful that the plan of salvation is to whosoever will! Whether Gentile or Jew, Jesus died for our sins. Then we must accept him and the apostolic doctrine! There is a way that seems right unto man, yet it can lead to destruction. We must compare our faith to the word of God and see if we are found to be in the faith that was once delivered to the saints.

  40. Acts 2:17 (NLT)
17 ‘In the last days,’ God says,
‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.

    All means all
(CWSB Dictionary) Includes the idea of oneness, a totality or the whole, the same as hólos (G3650), the whole.

This is a prophecy yet to happen. The word has yet to see the day when God would pour his spirit out on all flesh. One day this will happen. Revival is coming, harvest is coming. The plowman will overtake the reaper, and the fish pulled up will be so great we need everyone’s help to get everyone in the boat. We are living in the closing hours but we must remember that it isn’t over until all things are fulfilled.

    All means all

  41. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Not only did Paul survive the bite of the snake, but he also felt no harm from the venom of the snake, it didn’t even effect him at all. I believe one reason it didn’t was because he shook it off, he shook the snake off himself and into the fire and he believed that he would be alright as soon asthat snake bit him, he had some unshakable faith.

For a snake like that, it should have killed him and if it didn’t, that would have probably had to chop his arm off from the effects of the venom. But it goes to show the devil has no power against a believer who knows his God is bigger then the problems that try to strike us in life.

  42. Gentiles !!! 28. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gen’-tiles, and that they will hear it. Matt. 21 : 41 29. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. 30. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31. Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Je’-sus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! YOU ARE AWESOME !!!!
