Acts 8

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

  1. The end of verse 8 MSG says “…The evil spirits protested loudly as they were sent on their way……”. It is time to be not only obedient; but, bold and tell ALL evil to get to steppin! Just like Pastor said Wednesday night, you don’t have to accept/receive any negative statement, word, or any portion of anything that comes your way that does not bring you closer to God or is for His glory.

The beginning of verse 26 MSG says “Later God’s angel spoke to Philip: “At noon today I want you to walk over to that desolate road that goes from Jerusalem down to Gaza.” He got up and went.” I don’t read that Philip questioned the Lord or said explain it to me first as to “why” you want me to go. Can you imagine if we all had that get up and go as Philip??? Its called trusting in the Lord.

  2. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

Phillip joined himself unto this chariot and began to preach Jesus unto him. The preaching of Jesus will bring results, the preaching of repentance and baptizism will always work.
Many want to add more or take away from what Jesus wants from the gospel. The gospel will change people’s lives if we will believe with all our hearts and act upon our faith. We must be born again, filled with the Holy Ghost!

  3. 6. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

    7. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

    8. And there was great joy in that city.

Want to see miracles and have great joy? Be with one accord and give heed unto the things the man of God speaks.

  4. As Peter was talking to Simon the sorcerer, his want to lay hands on people to help them receive the Holy Spirit comes from a selfish place in his heart. He must repent and ask God if the thoughts of his heart can be forgiven. Only after repentance may we be transformed by God. We must also take close examination to our ministries. What are our true motives? Are they to glorify God or the self?

  5. 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

Sometimes we sow a seed in a 5 minute conversation and we never hear from them again; we should never lose Faith on the seed sowed for sometimes God will send a reaper to pick up the harvest. Think about it the Eunuch had a very specific scripture in his hands: who gave it to him, how did he find it? It was obvious he didn’t understand it most likely it was written in Hebrew or Greek. How long how he been carrying this scripture that The Spirit kept drawing him to keep it. Here comes Philip reads it, explains it, and teaches him. (First bible study) . This touches my heart for a seed was planted in my heart by my sweet aunt which have been a UPC member since the age of 15 she is 79 to God be all the Glory; but at my young age and with my parents strong Catholic upbringing was slightly missed led but I had kept one thing the bible she gifted me so I began to read it. After a while, I was full of questions, so I went to the church Priest and ask him all the whys????? Why if we are told not to have idols we had all this statutes we prayed to? Why did we baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost but the bible says forgiveness of sin only comes from the Name of Jesus. The last one cost me to be thrown out of the office why did we had so many virgins like Virgin Mary Magdalane which was said to be a street woman! I had to join the military to meet a man that came SSG David DaPron who baptize me in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of all my sins and received the sweet gift of the Holy Ghost.
I say all this just to say sow the seed everywhere you go pray for God will send the one that must pick up the fruit.
The last one verse is because way back in the 60s 70s I was a big follower of a TV show of Star Trek they could move from one position back to the ship with one beam. I LOVE THE FACT THAT MY GOD DID IT FIRST!!!!!!!

  6. 31 The man replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. (NLT)

There’s so many hungry souls out there searching for the truth. Like this man Philip spoke with, he needed Philip’s guidance towards truth before someone else came and told him otherwise. We must be sensitive to God’s Spirit so when He calls us, we will, with no hesitation, move and speak truth into someone’s life.

  7. MORE HOME BIBLE STUDY = MORE UNDERSTANDING

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Corporate Worship services are imperative to the growth of a believer. We must take and make time to worship the LORD JESUS together. It strengthens our FAITH in GOD, it empowers us to accomplish the will and work of GOD.

However to effectively evangelize our world we desperately need to faithfully teach unbelievers the way of TRUTH from the WORD of GOD. Whether a chariot, a living room, a dining room, a restaurant or a car; all make good classrooms.

Pray today that the LORD JESUS would lead us to the people that are seeking answers from the WORD of GOD, and then lets be willing to TEACH them a HOME BIBLE STUDY.

JESUS said in Matthew 28:19 “GO Teach all nations”

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iTeach
    iGive
    iReap

  8. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

We not only need to ask God to forgive of the things we say and the things that we do, but we need to remember to ask God to forgive us for the things that we think and our intentions that are not of God. Any sinful action or word starts out as a thought, and like a seed it grows once it is planted in you. This is we need to ask God’s forgiveness so that we turn away from our wrong thoughts and let God take it from us so that we can live a pure life for him.

  9. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Be ready at anytime to be used by God. How many times have I put myself before others? Many. My prayer is that with a willing heart that the lord will allow me to have more opportunities to help others.

  10. What if the Spirit spoke like this today?

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a] eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” (Message Version)

The Spirit does speak like this. The question is-are we listening? If we-as a whole- really got tuned into what God wanted to do, we would see a revival that is unimaginable. God will lead us to those that are hungry if we let him. Many are praying for God to show them the way. Perhaps it is you that God wants to use to answer the prayers of the hurting and seeking hearts.

  11. 36 As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” 38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Meanwhile, Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotus. He preached the Good News there and in every town along the way until he came to Caesarea.

  12. 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
Revival spread through persecution. Fear could have taken over and silenced the voice of the believers but instead they continued in their faith, trusting God in the face of death. Opposition that is meant to silence us will be used to spread revival if we trust God and not fall subject to fear.

  13. iLove to eat More word.
(Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:)

The least expensive mode of transportation was, of course, walking. Walking speed depended on the climate, season, and terrain, but one could generally walk about 20 miles in a day

With that being said, the city of Samaria was about 70 miles from Jersusalem. Conservatively speaking, it would take 3 or 4 days to walk to Samaria from Jerusalem.

So, as the above mentioned scripture mentions, the Apostles who were 70 miles away (maybe 4 days away) heard that received the Lord “as their personal Savior” they sent Peter and John… WAIT A MINUTE…  Why? Most denominational churches would have posted it on Facebook how many converts they had and then they would have had the sorcerer given his testimony on TBN already.

But not The First Church of Jerusalem! It took around 4 days for the news to get to the Apostles and another 4 days for the Apostles to get to Samaria…

But the question now arises… Why did the Apostles go and make that trip. Have Phillip run out of orange cards? The answer is they went down to pray for the city of Samaria to receive the Holy Ghost.

Hold on and wait a minute… I thought you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believe and receive Christ as your personal Savior? Not only had these folks “received the Lord as their personal Savior, but they had also been baptized “to show the outward sign of the inward confession”. (Acts 8:12 KJV But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.)

There are a lot of questions that could be answered from these scriptures if folks would truly evaluate them for what they are. One thing can be for certain, these scriptures prove that it took approximately one week for the new freshly baptized believers of Samaria to receive the Holy Ghost. Oh yeah, that was the whole reason that the Apostles that were in Jerusalem came down to Samaria in the first place…
(Acts 8:15 KJV Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:).

Probably those who believe all it takes to be saved is to “Accept the Lord as your Personal Savior” would try to argue a great theological debate…but honestly its hard to argue when your walking 70 miles (for believers that have already been baptized) to help them receive the Holy Ghost.

  14. 4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

They don’t stay in one spot they go everywhere so every one can hear Gods word! We can’t stay in one spot we need to go out and spread Gods word because one day his word will change someone’s life! 🙂

  15. “But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison.”

    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Instead of being dragged out of our houses and thrown in the prison. It seems in today’s time the world is dragging pieces of the worldliness into our lives as Christians. And it’s causing us to be mentally thrown into prison and on effective. We are believing that what we do is “OK” or “good Christian standards” because we do it for the “correct intentions”. But my brothers and sisters is not so. We must cut out every ounce of worldliness from our lives.  If the Bible instructs us to stay away from sin, cut it out of our lives then we must be obedient. We must not allow the world to place us in prison and treat us as if we are in the wrong and make us conform to the world liking and standards. Slowly Christians are excepting things into their lives and into their children’s lives by blindly partaking and excepting this world’s practices.  If it’s old traditions, new traditions or if it originated from the world or idol worship. Please research what you do, what you watch and what you say to see where the source came from. And if it came from the world cut it out of your life because you’re in prison and don’t even know it.

I once spoke to a former Hindu and she stated that their objective was to bring Hindu practices to American without the Americans knowing. Their form of worship include beads for prayer (they’re on some of our flip flops and bracelets), make up, tattoos, body piercings. Most Americans today would say they do these things because… (Fill in the blank) my heart or intentions are not to warship Hindu gods.  In reality we are partaking in the Hindu religion and don’t even know it. We as Christians cannot be destroyed because of the lack of knowledge. We must pray and read God’s word to find out what we need to eliminate from our lives. We must be godly in every area of our lives. We must not have a form of godliness and denying the power. We must be godly and full of power.

    2 Timothy 3:5 NLT

“They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”

  16. 20But Peter replied, “May your money be destroyed with you for thinking God’s gift can be bought!

So many believe in this concept that they can buy their salvation. Just because they do good works and give they believe God will be gracious and allow them enter the kingdom of heaven. I’ve had to explain there is more than just giving.

God wants you to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus. Then your giving will be truly blessed and accepted by God.

  17. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

We live in a world where sometimes joy is absent from lives that should be daily living in joy. We see here that as the Kingdom of God increased and spirits where cast out and miracles where taking place the city was joyful. So, I am convinced that when the book of acts church arises in us the sadness in our city will cease to exist and great joy will come over this city.
    More Church!
    More Joy!
    More Jesus!

  18. Acts 8:9-12
9, But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10, To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11, And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12, But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

So very Thankful that God called us out of darkness and into His Marvellous Light. We all, at one time, lived in the deceitfulness of sin, in the lusts of our flesh, and were snared by the devil and taken captive by him at his will.
So very Thankful for the “man of God” who came into my life and taught me the Truth of God’s Word and how to be saved. So Thankful that I believed the Word.

Now we, as the servants of the Lord, must teach others the Truth of God’s Word and how to be saved, so that they too can believe and be delivered from the snare of the devil and come out of darkness and into His Marvellous Light.

    2 Timothy 2:24-26
24, And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
    25, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God preadventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26, And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Go Teach and Share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

  19. We must go out and preach God’s word everywhere!

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

This is why missionaries are so important, for they go out to far places and tell and reach people who haven’t been as blessed as us to know know God!! But we have that same opportunity to reach people here, to tell them about the goodness of Jesus!! Let’s come together as one and reach this nation!!

  20. 23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

    what is bitterness?
anger and disappointment at being treated unfairly; resentment.

“he expressed bitterness over his dismissal without notice”

we are going to be treated wrong in some time or other in our life, we have to forgvie those that hurt us. We can’t go to heaven with bitterness in our hearts. Bitterness only kills us not the one we are holding it againist. God help us to not have bitterness in our hearts that we will not hear what you have to tell us.

  21. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Sometimes we can read our Bibles and not fully understand what we are reading that’s why God places Godly men or Godly women in our lives to guide us.

  22. Peter told Simon to repent and pray, and their is no account of him doing either. Instead Simon wants Peter to pray for him that “nothing you have said may happen to me.” (vs 24). Since his heart is wicked and bitter we can see that repenting isn’t on his list of priorities. He wants to manipulate people through witchcraft and sorcery. In Moses’ time after a plauge Pharaoh would plead with Moses to pray to his God to stop them and spare his their lives. The similarity is that they don’t actually want to do what the man of God says, but still want to prosper. We can pray and interceed but ultimately the person has to decide they want it. It being Holy Ghost filled lives. Nobody can repent for you. Nobody can save us but Jesus, He is waiting on us. Simon cannot lay on of hands and people get the Holy Ghost because he has to follow the path of salvation. We get to share the plan of salvation with those we meet just as Peter happened to met Simon. We cannot give people the Holy Ghost only God can, all we can do is tell them what God requires.

  23. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

There are people hungry for God all over the region and all they need is a good guidance and explanation of the Word. More bible studies help do this. If we take notice the eunoch was already reading the word. There is hunger for God out there. Let’s allow the Spirit of God to lead us and set us up with divine appointments that will impact a life.

  24. Acts 8:20 (Modern English Version)
20 Peter said to him, “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could purchase the gift of God with money!

To the onlooker this request may have been perfectly normal. Besides even Jesus spoke of the parable of the pearl of great price. We should be willing to pay whatever price necessary for the things of God.

So why was this such a bad thing? The problem is the heart. Peter discerned through the Holy Ghost that the man’s intentions were to use the gift of God to gain wealth and gain personal glory.

God knows what we will do with the gifts he gives and many times he keeps them from us until he knows we are ready. The tests that he gives are to prepare us for the gifts he wants us to have.

Of course God wanted Simon to receive the Holy Ghost but there was a character flaw that needed to be dealt with before. Simon needed to repent.

  25. “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one”. Simon like others that portray or profess to be some great one, should be a warning and raise suspicion. There is only one that is great, and his name is Jesus (God). One would be wise to check the word of God (Jesus) and pray, about anyone that possesses a “great one” (boastful or prideful spirit). One should never forget the deceiver (satan) also thinks he is some “great one”. Dear God, open my eyes and ears, and let me not be consumed or be deceived, but let me become more like you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  26. Acts8:15………that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16: For as yet He was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17: Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
I am amazed that so many churches preach and teach, “as soon as you believe, or are baptized, you have the Holy Ghost! ” Ignoring that God gave a supernatural outward sign that you could see and here to everyone who recieves the Holy Ghost! I wonder why churches don’t carefully believe you receive the Holy Ghost AS THE SCRIPTURE SAITH!!!

  27. “The eunuch said, “Tell me, who is the prophet talking about: himself or some other?” Philip grabbed his chance. Using this passage as his text, he preached Jesus to him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:34-35‬ ‭MSG‬‬

There will always be a connection you can make with a person to witness to them. We first need to listen to them and befriend them. There are too many religious witnesses that are reaching out to people the wrong way. People want to know they can trust you. Be genuine to whomever you witness to. Show love, show honesty, show truth, show Jesus to them.

  28. Reaching Every Life

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

As we evangelize, we remember to not discredit the relationship someone already has with God when we meet them. This eunuch read the Word, studying it, went to worship at Jerusalem, and had a sincerity in his efforts that he didn’t mind allowing Philip to talking with him about the Word, even though Philip was not outwardly presented like the eunuch in status. If Philip had immediately judged this eunuch and discredited his humble pursuit of God thus far, he likely would have driven the eunuch away from salvation (and who knows how many others who were under the influence of the eunuch.) It was in his willingness to respond to God’s call to lead the eunuch further that the eunuch found salvation that day. Philip didn’t turn his nose up at the eunuch for his partial discovery of truth and living a life pleasing to God; it paints the picture of how Jesus has called each of us from different walks of life and given us opportunity to know Him more, no matter where we are coming from.

    James 2:1-4 NLT
1 My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?

2 For example, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes.

3 If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well,

4 doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?

  29. 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Even though Satan tries his best to wreak havoc through our world, God will still be glorified!

  30. 2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

Tribulations and trials most of the time push people to take heed to the man of God, however, too often once the trials/tribulations are over people typically go right back to what they were doing before. Not so in this case, the threat of death was so real that people were listen to Philip and great Revival came as a result of the death of Stephen.

It is my prayer that the Lord does not have to take some people to the point of death for them to surrender their stubbornness and un-submitted ways and become what Jesus would have them to become.

  31. 23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

This man was baptized, had given his life to God and believed in the gospel but had bitterness and was still bound to iniquity.
We see these great men of God that God uses to do miricales signs and wonders, and we wonder desire to be like them. We watch these great preachers online or on TV and imitate there verbiage tones or even slurs, hoping that maybe they can get the same result.
We can never usurp or buy the Power of God. It is a free gift from God.

  32. Act 8:3 — Act 8:4
But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.Philip Proclaims Christ in Samaria
Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.

Thank God for men and woman of courage that even in persecution and death they are still willing to go and preach His Word, so that sinners like me can hear the Word and be saved.

  33. “As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This scripture is hard, but things are only going to get worse in the end times. As time progresses it is no wonder that we have people coming into churches to persecute the followers of Christ.

  34. Believeth with all thine heart…….

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

    “Can’t buy the Holy Ghost”…….

  35. 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Sometimes we come up with all kinds of excuses when all we really have to do is obey the voice of God

  36. Saul !!!! 1. AND Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Je-ru’-sa-lem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Ju-dae’-a and Sa-ma’-ri-a, except the apostles. Acts 7 : 58 2. And devout men carried Ste’-phen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 3. As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. Acts 7 : 58 YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY !!!! I WORSHIP YOU !!!!
