Acts 2

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

  1. Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them repeant and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy ghost.

We must be baptized in the Holy ghost and repeant so we can enter into heaven More Holy ghost and More Babtized. Amen

  2. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

We must continue, not just start but continue the walk with God daily and see what we can become for God. We can see a move of God if we open up and let God take over and spend time daily with him. If we want to see a book of Acts move in our day we must act like these disciples did on a daily bases. Be in one accord with each other and God!

  3. 2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

Just like at NAYC we came together and you could hear, feel the power of God and the Holy Spirit move through out the arena. It only took 1 person to start speaking in tongues to start a fire through out the whole arena. This world has no holy fire and it is starving to know God, imagine if 1 person wanted to change that in the world and took a lost soul one at a time. All we need to start a wild fire in this world is to have a hunger for God and to bring the lost to him. Don’t burn out of your fire!!!!

  4. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Such a great honor it is to be called by God, for him to be able to look at someone like me and for him to want to use me, what a great joy that is for me to be able to serve the one whoe created me and died for me and loved me when noone else would. For all of us, it should be a great honor to serve our Mighty God.

  5. Acts 2:32 (Wuest – The New Testament: An Expanded Translation)
32 This Jesus God raised up, whose witnesses we all are, bearing testimony to what we have seen and heard and learned concerning Him.

    This Jesus.

The gospel is about Jesus. The Christian walk is about Jesus. The Bible is about Jesus. Everything in the kingdom of God is about Jesus.

What should the church be about?
    Jesus!

Our walk, talk, attitude, purpose, direction, and passion should all be Jesus!

The greatest thing we can say, or give to anyone is THIS Jesus!

  6. POSTURED FOR REVIVAL

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

GOD has given us valuable insight into the path to REVIVAL and HIS Harvest in the Church.

    1. PRAISING GOD – Distraction is the favorite tool of the adversary. If the accuser, the old devil can fill our lives with doubts, questions and fears then we will be distracted from PRAISING GOD. As we keep our hands up to JESUS and our eyes fixed on HIM we will find ourselves POSTURED FOR REVIVAL of our heart, mind, soul and spirit. While we are PRAISING GOD we silence the adversary, we cause him to be still and he cannot approach us.

    2. HAVING FAVOR WITH PEOPLE – The opportunity to treat people with respect and be kind to them while serving them in honesty is a sure way of HAVING FAVOR WITH PEOPLE. Too often we get caught up in the business of the world and loose sight of our goal of serving JESUS and serving others. Today is a good day to perform a random act of kindness and gain favor with people.

    3. THE LORD ADDS TO THE CHRUCH – When the church is not distracted by storms, other individuals decisions or a situation we do not understand. We are POSTURED FOR REVIVAL.

Choose today to not allow a situation or circumstance that you do not understand to sway your thinking or distract you from PRAISING GOD. Search everyday for something to PRAISE GOD for.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  7. iLove to eat More Word

Acts 2:4-6 KJV And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (5) And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. (6) Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Alot of the religious world are confused in the area of speaking in tongues. Many use 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 to try and prove that “not all speak in tongues”.

Paul was talking about people speaking in tongues exercising spiritual gifts in the book of Corinthians. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:2 KJV For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

There are two different kinds of speaking in tongues. When a person gets the Holy Ghost, they speak in a language that someone understands (but the person speaking doesnt understand) and then once a person is filled, they can receive the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues in which no man can understand.

  8. Act 2:46
“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”

Jesus said in St. Luke 9:23, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
Paul said in 1 Cor. 15:31, “… I die daily.”
Heb.3:13-14 says, “But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.”

This is not a “once saved, always saved” religion. We can’t just “serve” the Lord when we want to or when we “need” Him. We must die daily to this old flesh and our will, and take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. We must continuously walk, talk, and live in Jesus, Daily.

    It’s a Daily Walk!

  9. 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Any of us that read Acts Chapter 2 should immediately jump for Joy, Shout Hallelujah, and Praise the Lord; for that is the birth of our church and a promise that reaches to the farthest generations. My God is promising that all our loved ones and those as far as it wil go will receive the Holy Ghost, so what do we do??? Do we seat and just claim the promise?? Well, that will work for His Promises are Yeah and Amen. Better yet make it a daily desire in your daily prayer to ask for them to be filled with the hunger for the Holy Ghost!!! Then let God be God!!!!

  10. 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

People may see you differently just because you have Jesus but that doesn’t mean you should stop. They kept going with the Holy Ghost and didn’t care what others thought. We should be in the same mindset, no matter what our surroundings are.

  11. There’s people that look up to you and do the same actions as you so if your doing things that are not of God they’ll do the same thing, so we have to pray every day and read the bible everyday so we can be good leaders for them, you don’t want to be the person that makes it to where they can’t go to heaven because of your actions, so we have to be examples of Christ!

  12. 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

To think that so many men have made an entire doctrine off of this one thought. Yet the true message of salvation is just a few verses later!

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

God I pray that you would open the eyes of those who are deceived by false doctrine in this world.

  13. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

If we truly want to have an Acts 2 revival, churches all acrosst this nation need to stand up as one. We no longer need to to sit by and watch our world continue to be lost, but create a chain reaction with our praise and worship.

  14. 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

No matter who you are and what you have done and what you come from once you call up to God he will be there and be there to help you to get thru every struggle and tribulation the Lord will be your strength and because you have called upon to him and the Lord will be your guide to find a way to be with him

  15. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

I pray for one accord in one place . so we all can be filled again.

  16. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

The fear of the Lord is strong. When we have unity the church cannot be stopped. Unity and a fear of God. This is what we need.

  17. But This Is That

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

    16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

When God is at work in our lives, we cannot expect everyone around us to understand what they are seeing. The Disciples were called drunken, Job’s friends called him sinful, and David’s brothers called him lazy and negligent, to name a few. What was missed was that these individuals were caught up in something far greater than themselves. The same witness that will encourage some may anger or confuse others if they do not realize the nature of what they are seeing. It is up to us to focus on walking in the will of God, even if it doesn’t win the popular vote of those around us. God knows how to take care of our situations if we will be faithful to Him.

    Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

  18. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

One accord, all filled with the Holy Ghost, noised abroad……..pricked in their hearts, and desiring to know what to do next. This is the progression that we should see on a daily basis. We should be in one accord, filled with Holy Ghost full and overflowing, so that when we share the gospel, people will be pricked in their hearts and what to do know what is essential.

  19. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

I want this sunday to be the same like it was on the day of Pentecost weah!!!!

  20. The church today truly needs another book of acts outpouring. We don’t have time to waste and wait to see what everybody else is going to do. We must get to moving the way God wants us to.

  21. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

We see the church in its infant state innocent and unified. We need to go back to this kind of unity.

  22. Acts 2

v 1-13: The Holy Spirit and the Day of Pentecost
    v 14-36 Peter’s Apostolic Message
    v 37-41 The Response to Peter’s Message
v 42-47 The Fellowship of Early Believers

This text introduces the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. It is the model in which we are to operate.

  23. Act 2:25 — Act 2:28
For David says about him,ʻI saw the Lord always in front of me,for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced;my body also will live in hope, because you will not leave my soul in Hades, nor permit your Holy One to experience decay. You have made known to me the paths of life;you will make me full of joy with your presence.ʼ

It doesn’t matter what we are going through, what struggles we have, what trials and tribulations we are in, If we follow God He is always there. He will never leave us or forsake us. With God we can overcome anything and not even hell will be able to stop us. God is our hope and joy all we need to do is get on our knees and have a communication and relationship with Him.

  24. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
The same experience from the day of Pentecost over 2000 years ago is still available today! As Peter said a few verses down “the promise is unto you and your children and all who are afar off” God is still in the soul saving business and his spirit still falls!

  25. Acts 2:1-4
WE MUST BE EMPOWERED before WE EMPOWER!!!

We can NEVER empower anyone else until we are first SUPERNATURALLY EMPOWERED yourselves (FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT)
Whenever someone if filled with the Holy Spirit, something happens. Empowered church EXPRESS God’s POWER and then empowers others.

    MORE Holy Spirit!!!
    MORE power!!!

  26. ““Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:29-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You can’t be completely consumed with man that you forget about the one our focus should be on. David was a man who led many people but he did not save them. There is only one by which we must be saved, Jesus. Anything that is put above God in your life has become the idol in which you worship. Follow God, not the things of this world.

  27. 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Everyone responds when they first hear the Holy Ghost, and then one has a personal (individual) choice to make. The word of God (Judge) is very clear on what that choice is to be. Dear God, help me to choose wisely; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  28. “Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:37‬ ‭NLT
Each time we come to church we should want that urge to know more about God and to know what He wants from us and the steps He wants us to take. We need our ears to be open to hear His voice and our hearts to be sensitive to Him.

‬‬“They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity —”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:46‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We should be in unity in not only the house of God in worshipping, but as well out of the church. We are apart of the church wherever we go. We shouldn’t be one way in the church and another when we leave.

Just like these men who preached Gods word and what they were told stayed true everywhere they went. People who need God need truth not just an act. We must be right with God and true to not only God, but to ourselves.

  29. 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

And the Lord added to the church…. This was the result of what happened just a few verses before. They were all in unity. The Lord added to the church those that should be saved… I got to thinking and remembered what challenge/promise we were give as a church in POFW; when we get together and have 100% participation in IFT the Lord has resources that he is wanting to add. The key here is that God is moved by unity. What surprise awaits us if we just buy into the vision, be faithful with what we “said” we would do, and watch the Lord just add or in other words give us MORE…daily 🙂

  30. What a ruckus!
It’s amazing to think about all the confusion that was going on that day. People going through the streets speaking so many different languages. There were probably Botha set up where people were selling all kinds of things. All of these different conversations and the “business” of the day was stopped by a few loud people above the street. How do we know it all stopped? Because the people came and listened. All of them hearing in their own native language. We just thought the day’s business was confusing, but now loud people above the street are causing more confusion, only they are not. The upper room confusion causes peace below. Those below stopped to listen to the explanation of the events by Peter who was full of the Holy Ghust and boldness. This ruckus cause people to get baptized, get the Holy Ghost, and it added three thousand people to the church on that one day!

“And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:40-41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  31. Part of verses 5-11 MSG says “……..When they heard the sound, they came on the run…..”. Verse 6 NIV says “When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.” I hear the sound of an Army Arising….

  32. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It seems like every service that passes the Spirit of God just fills us to where we just want to praise and worship Him even after everyone is gone. I love being filled because it molds me and gives me that peace that I need in my life living in this world. The devil has been defeated and it not going to destroy my family or my church. It’s time for REVIVAL, witness and testify of the great things God is doing. I wanted to be FILLED daily with the HG so the annointing can just overflow and be able to reach those that are hungry for God. NAYC experience on Friday night was what I think a demonstration of these verses. Just the utterance of the HG on each on of us and not being able to contain yourself but praise and worship the almighty King!!! 🎤🎧🎹 No one greater, No one higher 🎤🎧🎹

  33. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

They spread the word of the upper room miracle and soon a multitude of people gathered to witness what God was doing. The Holy Ghost was not given in some quiet corner, it was noised abroad in an explosion so the world would. It miss what God was doing. The revival that is coming will be an explosion in our community. It will be talked about and we will see a multitude come to see what God is doing!

  34. In order to see this type of movement again, it’s highly important for all of us to be in one accord. In doing this, you must maintain a one mindedness, and that’s not gossip, backbiting, accusing, judging, tale bearing, nor should there be an abuse of authority. Just because you have been given great authority doesn’t mean you are to abuse it. Solomon, Moses, Saul, David, Paul, learned that lesson, and as well as many other great leaders. God places kings, and he also removes kings too….

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

    “Stay in One Accord”……………………………………………………

  35. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

    Gladly Received His Word!
We should all enter His temple with joy in our hearts and with a hunger to hear His Words!

  36. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I can not stop thinking about On The Border Sunday nights when we would come together talking about what God is doing, eating together and breaking out in praises because He is so good!

Pro 25:21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For you don’t know what they are going through, maybe the only reason they are so mean is because they have given up looking for what they now see in you.
Remember Friend day is coming up, perfect opportunity to reach out!

  37. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

All church revival comes when their is unity.

  38. “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”(Acts‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

All sudden there came strong and mighty sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind ,the description tells us gods children that to remind us of the sound of a trumpet ,when the mighty voice of the trumpet sounded long, it was louder and louder that it was able to protect the people that were around,Moses spake to God and God answered Moses by a voice that was so beautiful and strong, powerful, such a mighty wind that was felt or heard by the people as the mighty wind the breath of the mighty spirit of God. Gods spirit had moved upon the faces of the waters, quickening them into life on earth.
