Acts 3

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

  1. 6. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

    Did Peter give him strength? No, Peter gave him an introduction to Jesus!
    Let this song by Janet Paschal be a reminder that we can’t fix the world’s problems, but we can introduce them to One who can.

    If the pressures all around,
    Keep your spirits to the ground;
    You need someone.
    And If your body is in pain,
    And your health you can’t regain;
    You need someone.
    And If at times when you have tried,
    With all the strength you had inside;
    And it seems that you have failed,
    Remember on the cross He nailed
    All the bitterness and grief,
    To give you peace and sweet relief
    He is that someone that you need.

    So I give you Jesus,
    He’s the peace that passes all understanding;
    I give you Jesus,
    He’s the perfect love that casteth out all fear;
    I give you Jesus,
    He’s the water that you drink and never thirst again;
    Oh I give you Jesus, my friend,
    I give you Jesus

  2. The Bigger the debt, The Larger the Praise!!!!

    2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

    There are some churches and or people that don’t understand our exuberant Praise is too much. We are just too loud, too vociferous, and way too emotional. My answer usually is, the bigger the debt is, the larger the Praise should be. Gratefulness for what has been done to liberate us, should motivate us to Love the Lord, Praise Him at all times, and not be silent about his Goodness and Mercy!!!! Others need to know that Our God is ALIVE AND WELL, and He is still a Miracle Working God, so we can still hold tight to His promises that are always Yes and Amen. So let us go PRAISE HIM WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH, MIGHT, SOUL AND HEART. FOR YOU DON’T KNOW LIKE I KNOW WHAT MY JESUS DONE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. So many things come to my mind in reading this chapter. In verse 8 NLT it says “He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.” When my Father had his stroke, they told us that he would probably never walk again or use his left hand; but, you spend one second with my Dad and he will show you what his God has done. I know that one day I will see my Dad dance in the spirit (physically) as he used to (I know he has never stopped in his heart/spirit).

    Verses 22-23 NLT speak about “listening carefully”. This reminded me of one of the lessons we had last week in Sunday School, where we spoke of young Samuel. We too must listen for the voice of God. Our lesson said you have to listen to God before we can speak for God.

    The end of the chapter MSG says “….But you are first in line: God, having raised up his Son, sent him to bless you as you turn, one by one, from your evil ways.” This reminds of what we start today……As we begin to be a blessing by being a friend and help one friend at a time turn to Jesus!

  4. 14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

    Peter speaking to the Jews and telling them how they rejected the Lord. They did what they did through ignorance, but still had to repent, repent for the fact they crucified Jesus Christ.
    We must all repent and be converted where we can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. We can get Jesus in our hearts and lives he will come to us and we need him everyday!

  5. THE REAL R & R

    19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

    An acronym that we hear often during summer months is R & R. People often seek R & R or Rest and Relax time during the summer months. R & R is used for a time of Refreshing or Rejuvenation to continue in the journey we know as LIFE. LIFE alone is draining with all of the challenges, opportunities and demands that time and chance present us.

    I believe the LORD revealed to me today THE REAL R & R

    In verse 19 Repent and Refreshing will come.

    The call of the LORD is REPENT and be REFRESHED in the Holy Ghost. Today is the day of salvation, we are wise to REPENT and allow the wonderful, powerful presence of the LORD to REFRESH us.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iRefresh
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  6. The lame man took heed of them, expecting to receive something of them.

    I know that when I come before God expecting something, HE always delivers.

  7. iLove to eat More Word

    14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

    15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

    The Apostles did not worry about being politically correct and did not worry about who they offended, but they spoke the truth with boldness. This is missing in our culture today. We have become so entangled with Political Correctness, that we can hardly even preach with boldness any more.

  8. Acts 3:4
    And Peter fasting his eyes upon him with John said look on us .

    We must be fasting for the lord for the word is are food we must think the lord everyday More Jesus. Amen

  9. 10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
    11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

    Being broken at a beautiful place. We must know And realize that when we are broken to go to a place that is beautiful. That’s where we can get out miracle.

  10. “Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate’s decision to release him. You rejected this holy, righteous one and instead demanded the release of a murderer. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact! “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭3:12-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    If we are not filled with Gods Spirit and reading His word then it is easy for us to fall or be tricked. The people’s eyes were blinded to see that Jesus was God and the Holy One when they decided to crucify him and then again when God did a wonderful healing on the beggar. We need to wake up and make sure we are not blind to seeing the truth. God open our eyes, my eyes so that we won’t be deceived.

  11. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

    While these people may have been the very ones to cry out to crucify Jesus, Peter let them know that God raised Jesus up and that he now offers them the opportunity to repent and turn to him. They witnessed a miracle of healing which got their attention to hear the message of salvation. Miracles, signs and wonders will still draw people to him – we must be ready with the message.

  12. Revival starts with you

    Acts 3:19 (AMP)
    19 So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, ofreviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;

    The word refreshing means revival.

    We all search for revival, and what can bring revival but it seems that this scripture shows us the first step toward it. True repentance produces revival.

    True repentance requires two major actions. First there is a complete turning away from sin, and iniquity. We make up our mind to not ever do that again.

    Second we must whole heartedly turn towards the Lord. We seek him, surrender to him, and give him our all.

    Once we are positioned then the times of refreshing nor revival can come.

  13. “Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.” One would be wise too truly recognize the significance of Israel and Jerusalem, and pray for them. Dear God, open our eyes, ears, and hearts; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  14. “Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    You need to look in the direction in which you want to receive something. This man gave his full attention to Peter and that’s when he was blessed. Let’s keep our eyes on the Lord to receive what He has for us.

  15. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

    Give God the glory. In everything you may do for the Kingdom of God we should remember that it is because of God. We are only vessels. God is the one shoe receives all the glory. It is His name that has power.

  16. You can’t buy the Holy Ghost, and you can’t buy your healing either, but it is a gift by the blood of Jesus Christ………………………………………

    6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

    7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

    “Share the Love”………………………………………………..

  17. 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. put on the new man all things become new, which is kept by a paryer life and staying in the word of god.

  18. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

    7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

    8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
    this takes me back to Proverbs;16;16 how much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! Amagine what it would be like to really have that kind of faith to go up to someone and say wholeheartedly sliver and gold have I none but such as I have give I thee in the name of jesus you are healed and know that its done!

  19. “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    It was their prayer hour. They all prayed at the nineth hour. What conviction and devotion that they all seemed to pray around the nineth hour.

  20. 12 Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

    Our eyes must be open this week to see our opportunities, at our divine appointments.

    Colossians 4:3 MSG
    Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude. Don’t forget to pray for us, that God will open doors for telling the mystery of Christ, even while I’m locked up in this jail. Pray that every time I open my mouth I’ll be able to make Christ plain as day to them.

  21. Acts 3:6
    But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, stand up and walk!”

    A lot of the times we think people need material things like money, but when we see them with our spiritual eyes we can see that they need Jesus and a friend to tell them about Him. We just have to keep our spiritual eyes and ears opened and we too will see people made strong and whole because we serve a mighty God.

  22. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

    This man expected something, even though he didn’t know what he was about to get. He was in desperate need to make it out of his situatuion and he recieved because of his faith.

  23. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

    9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

    10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

    Our testimony is a powerful tool in winning the lost ot Jesus. We can just tell people about Jesus and it won’t have an effect if they don’t see the evidence of it in our lives. But if they see how Jesus has changed us and our lives for the better than they will wanna know more.

    So let people see you praise God and don’t be shy in letting people know who you believe in and who transformed your life and turned it around. Let people hear how Jesus has changed your life so they in turn can see how Jesus can change their situation they are going through.

  24. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

    If we are not daily, the devil is. The devil has laid things right out side of church ready to rob your faith. But just like Peter, what his daily experience had finally produced, he stepped out in faith. The evidence is, that it wasn’t him on his way out of church, but on his way to church. Most of us expect or think that the miracles can or will only happen at church. But the first apostolic church, most of the miricales happen outside of church. If we stop limiting God and stop putting Him in this little box called church, we might start moving towards being that Book of Acts church God and our pastor yearns us to be.

  25. “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”‭‭(Acts‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV)

    His name through faith in his name. We have been so technical about our languages in this world that the efficient that it will increase Jesus more than it will increase ourselves cause to distinguish it from the indispensable making ourselves absolutely necessary whatever condition we are in for our own actions we make in life. In our faith we trust and believe in our father which his mighty name represents the way we minister to people about the word of God and pray for people that’s how we demonstrate the father through the son!!! In Jesus Name Amen!!!
