Acts 7

1 Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

3 And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

4 Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

6 And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

11 Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

12 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.

13 And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

14 Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:

21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,

32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

47 But Solomon built him an house.

48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

  1. Verses 8-10 MSG “Then he made a covenant with him and signed it in Abraham’s flesh by circumcision. When Abraham had his son Isaac, within eight days he reproduced the sign of circumcision in him. Isaac became father of Jacob, and Jacob father of twelve ‘fathers,’ each faithfully passing on the covenant sign. “But then those ‘fathers,’ burning up with jealousy, sent Joseph off to Egypt as a slave. God was right there with him, though—he not only rescued him from all his troubles but brought him to the attention of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. He was so impressed with Joseph that he put him in charge of the whole country, including his own personal affairs.” The end of verse 8 says that each faithfully passed on the covenant sign; but, then jealousy had to rear its ugly head. We have to be careful that our mind or as Bro. Crockett said last night our “human nature” go there. We must be like Stephen “,,,,But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, hardly noticed—he only had eyes for God,,,,” as its stated in verses 54-56 MSG. Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will be zealous, not jealous.

  2. Is this truth ?
Then said the high priest, Are these things so? (‭Acts‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬ KJV)

Notice where Stephen is at right now. He is in one of the most hostile environment that a believer could possibly be in. One of the Pharisees in Stevens trial asked him this ” is this truth” Stephen knew he was in the word of God and that it was true. So how was he going to explain it?

Give them the word of God. Straight from the heart of Stephen he began on telling the history lesson to explain this jesus. He didn’t need a Bible or a preacher to quote from he had the word of God duged down deep in his heart. He study and waiting his whole for this moment. So telling the pharisees they were pricked to the heart even more so. Boldness of Stephen sold it.

Keep the word of God deep in your heart. Spend time learning and studying to the point that you bleed the word of God. It is the power.
You will never preach the word if you never study it… Eat the book.

  3. Self Righteousness = Injustice

From the moment Stephen open his mouth in his testimony all he said was truth. He walked them through their history, their covenant, their ancestry, he quoted the scriptures, and what for? Self righteous, better than you, nose in the air, and empty hearts could turn around and kill him anyway. I know I have said this so many time; but this week as I have tried so hard to invite everyone I see to friendship day I have noticed more and more how people judge you by your outside looks. You get answers like: “Do I have to wear a skirt?”, “Are you guys going to be speaking in tongues that scares me?” or the best one yet: “I don’t like handling snakes!” (to which I answer me neither) It may sound funny but it still shows a stereo type to which by people judge us before they know us. By the way my answer were “No come as you are God loves you and so do we” – “yes, you will hear us speak in tongues but you should not fear it, will you like a bible study about it? and finally NO WE DO NOT HANDLE SNAKES ALTHOUGH THE WORD SAID IF WE DO THEY WILL NOT HARM US IT WOULD BE IGNORANT TO TRY IT. IT IS NOT LACK OF FAITH IT IS COMMON SENSE.
I say all this to advice to keep in mind that as they all come in through our door, there should be no pre-judgement, but open heart, love, and understanding.

  4. 48. Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

    49. Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

    50. Hath not my hand made all these things?

God isn’t interested in staying inside the beautiful buildings that men build, He wants to be in the human vessels that He created for himself.

  5. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. (‭Acts‬ ‭7‬:‭59-60‬ KJV)

Stephen was a man of faith, not only in Christ, but faith and love for souls.
He had a fire in his heart that his passion was until his last breath was taken on earth. All for the cause of Christ, Stephen never gave up. He spoke of salvation, grace, and yet many did not believe. Many will reject the story you have(testimony). But you must continue to speak. Because grace and love is greater than the words that wound.even until death.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬ KJV)

  6. 54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

The response to the word of God is important to us today as was this day. These people were cut to their hearts, they knew he was telling them what they had done and it was wrong. They were mad and gashed on them with their teeth, they talked about him and became even madder until they stoned him to death. They held their hands over their ears and yelled back at him, why are you telling us what we did was wrong. This is the response most people of today will give you when they first hear the word of God. They will be offended by the word of God and when we are offended the word can’t help us. We should embrace the word of God even if it cuts to the heart, this is our only hope to be saved. Stephen was willing to preach the truth even in the face of opposition. I’ve had people walk out on me and wave their arm like I was crazy and had them shake their fist at me while I was preaching. I always knew my God was greater than my enemy, you might destroy my body but not me trust in God!

  7. This chapter reveals a purposeful walk with God. Abraham was given daily, weekly, monthly instructions from the Lord each time it was necessary. This is the type of life that the Lord desires each of us to walk. We should seek His wisdom and counsel in every situation and not make a move until we have heard from the Lord. If He can direct Abraham, Moses the Children of Israel, David, Samuel, Peter, Paul what makes us think He cannot direct our daily path as well?

It is up to us to seek His face and listen for His voice to know the direction He gives.

  8. Stephen’s prayer demonstrates that he was speaking the truth in love, not in malice.

And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord , lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this. he fell asleep. Acts 7:60

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

  9. CONVICTION GENERATES DECISIONS

THRUTH in itself is convicting. Often we hear of a sacrifice or commitment in real LIFE that creates within us a felling of conviction or unworthiness. This feeling of unworthiness causes us to make choices and take action if deep enough.

The TRUTH spoken here by Stephen is one that was so painful to hear that they took action and that action was to hurt the bearer of TRUTH.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

    iGive

  10. 30-33 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

It’s sad to think that others believe they can only reach God at church. That they can only pray at church, yet if my God can speak to a man from a bush and make the area around him Holy Ground. I know my God can be reached in my living room, or where ever I may be in my time of need. God is not restrained to the four walls of a church, He is the Almighty!

  11. 51 “You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you! (NLT)

God isn’t looking for purebred religious folk who think they’ve got it all figured out. He is looking for a people who are obedient and willing to talk with Him daily and heed Hid call, listen to His voice. It doesn’t matter where you came from, it doesn’t matter what so and so did, what your family life looks like; all that matters to God is your heart and attitude. Are you submissive to those over you? Don’t become angry with the truth and take it out on the man of God as these men did with Stephen, rather embrace the truth and allow your heart to be open to God.

  12. Holy Ground

33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Joshua 5:15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

It is not the dirt on which they stood that was Holy. The presence of the Lord is what made the place Holy. It is the place where God meets with His people that makes it Holy. Do we have a special place in our lives where we meet and talk with Jesus? This might be your Holy place. Treat it with reverence. If you hold this physical place with the reverence it deserves, God will not only meet you there it will become your strong tower. The POFW building should also be held with this same reverence.

Sometimes familiarity can diminish the reverence our building deserves. We as the people of POFW should hold everything on this property as God’s property. Each piece of the property from the door knob to the pulpit belongs to God and should be treated with the utmost respect. We need to keep in mind in comings and goings we are entering a Holy place. Straightening chairs, picking up trash, removing spider webs, etc… is not restricted activities to the maintenance crew; it is everybody’s duty.

If we see some of our guests not treating the property with the respect it is due, we must address the situation. We should use good judgement and wisdom; we cannot point our long finger in their face and flog them with “holier-than-though” attitudes. Let’s lead by example. Let’s pull together as the team we are and ensure the entire POFW property is treated with respect.

  13. 51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

The Word of God will not always be accepted, there will always be people who find it offensive, and talk against the preacher. But we cannot let that get to us! If we truly want an Acts revival, we have to preach the TRUTH. There is no way around the word of God, to get where we need to be we have to go through it!!

  14. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

    The power of forgiveness.

We all have had a grudge. But wow. Forgiveness. I held a grudge and it almost cost me my salvation. I was mentally challenged. I thought I had every right to feel the way that I did. It was suppose to be my position. I worked hard for it. I’m the one that put in the most time. And it was given to the new guy. But in a class that I attend it was said that some healings come when we are anointed. So all of us that we’re in that class were anointed. And wow. I felt a healing come into me. I went up to the guy that I was angry at and asked for his forgiveness. True healing took place. What would have happened if Steven didn’t forgive those people? Forgive and forget.

  15. 35“So God sent back the same man his people had previously rejected when they demanded, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ Through the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush, God sent Moses to be their ruler and savior.

God has plans for everyone of us. You may be rejected once, but God will still use you. Where others see your lack of skills, leadership or knowledge, God sees you as a perfect fit for his plans. Once you are in position of authority, its up to you to fulfill God’s will and purpose.

Just like Joseph, he was rejected by his own brothers, and thrown into prison. But God had a calling for him, and placed Joseph in a position of authority.

  16. 15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

We might die in this world but we aren’t staying here we are going to be carried away by the promise God has made to us. Our inheritance is Jesus and in the adoption through His blood and recieving His Spirit. Jesus paid the price for our salvation the same way Abraham bought a sepulchre for himself and his to inherit. Death cannot seperate us from the love of our Father, for when we rise we will meet Him again.

  17. 1 Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran…

Scripture tells us when we are persecuted to not take thought of what we will say because in that very hour, he says he will give us the words to speak. We can be comforted that when persecution comes, our Lord and Savior is still with us; he is our strength and help in time of trouble. We just have to keep our focus on him. Vs 55- Stephen looked up into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.

  18. Acts 7:38-39 (AMP)
38, This is he who in the assembly in the wilderness (desert) was the go-between for the Angel who spoke to him on the Mount Sinai and our forefathers, and he received living oracles (words that still live) to be handed down to us.
39, (And yet) our forefathers determined not to be subject to him (refusing to listen to and obey him); but thrusting him aside they rejected him, and in their hearts yearned for and turned back to Egypt.

This happens to often in church. We see people living for God, and then the next thing you know, they are rejecting and refusing to listen to and obey the man of God and the Word of God. They have turned their hearts back to Egypt (the world), and they backslide.

I want to share a few scriptures.
St. Luke 9:62, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Gal. 4:9, “But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?”
Heb. 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
2 Peter 2:20, “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”

We need to Pray MORE for the backsliders!

  19. 9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

BUT GOD WAS WITH HIM!!!! Like Pastor said the devil always try’s to put his but, but Gods But is bigger and it’s true!!!! Jesus has the final say in EVERYTHING!!!! The devil has been defeated and I will not let the devil steal what is mine. We might feel like were going through things on our own but God always is there besides, I will call unto Him because I know that He listens to my cry out!!! Jesus doesn’t let us go through more than what we can’t handle 🙂 I HAVE THE VICTORY!!!!! The DEVIL is UNDER MY FEET!!!!

  20. iLove to eat More Word

55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God

Wow. It’s hard to imagine what could push Stephen to preach his own funeral service. The Bible says that he was full of the Holy Ghost as well. Back in the book of Acts, they preached hard and the kingdom multiplied tremendously.

  21. 9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

But God was with him.. The same way that God is with us today. The Lord will not abandon us. He knows right where we are as we were just told Sunday night. This should give us confidence to go forward in God and mature in the faith knowing more of Jesus. There no weapon that shall stand against God’s people. He is our light and our strong tower. This scripture is a great Word of encouragement. Be still and know that he is God.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    http://bible.com/1/psa.27.1.kjv

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    http://bible.com/1/mat.28.20.kjv

He had passion, and talk about what he believed in, all the way into he’s last breath.

  23. 50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

God had made all things. There isn’t anything that is out of his reach. Whatever we need we can get it from God. Ask and it shall be given.

  24. Acts 7:25 (ESV Strong’s)
25 He supposed that his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not understand.

He thought they would think that his actions against the Egyptian would be a clear indication that the delivering power of almighty God was coming through his hands. Just the thought alone reeks with arrogance.

Why? Because Moses took the deliverance into his own hands. He didn’t take the time to ask God about his plan, and how to execute it. He through his own human reasoning and logic decided he would do something about this slave problem, as if all of Egypt would bow.

The flesh is not our friend and can get us in a major amount of trouble. We must remember that God’s will, and work is a spiritual operation. Yes we may physically execute his plans but he calls the shots.

Moses tried to do the will of God without prayer.

  25. “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:55-56‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    What a beautiful verse.

  26. 36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years He brought them out ;He brought them out. I like that and I feel that theres someone that god wants to bring out of the wilderness just keep the faith and don’t give up god hears your prayer!!!!!!!

  27. “I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.” Many of them were born in bondage and were simply unaware of any other life, and worse yet they did not know God (Jesus). Many today do not care or are too young to know how their freedom (includes freedom to worship) was achieved, which is why it is taken for granted and why the bondage of sin is so rampant. The truth is God fearing men and women prayed, sought God, and fought for it, which is exactly what it is required before the next generation is unaware of any other life, and worse yet of who God is, or what his word says. Dear God, help me to stand firm on your word, pray more, and do more so that the next generation might have more and not less of you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God
for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  28. 27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

Who made thee a ruler and judge over us? Moses appointed himself to be in that position. No one sent Moses. He went on his own to see his people. He went without anointing or covering, and he was rejected.

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

Then God sent Moses. Moses went covered and anointed to do the will of the lord.
    Don’t just go, be sent!

  29. ““You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you!”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭7:51‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God don’t let our ears, my ears be deaf towards your word or the truth let us hear your voice and hear the truth weather it comes from Pastor or any of the body. Open our ears Lord and let us not resist You, let us be sensitive towards Your Spirit.

  30. God knows how to build houses, and all creation is of his hands. Yes, it’s hard to see that the earth is his footstool today but it is. So, he definitely knows how to build a church, body, and bride. We are to trust him, and believe he can do all things. Be patient, to see the overall outcome of his plan. But, God can’t be contained in a building nor of anything that man can build by their hands. He will not allow idolatry. He came to be our God, and live inside our temples, filled by the Holy Ghost. We are God’s temple now, due to the new covenant, that we needed Jesus’s help. Thank God, for his awesome grace & mercy……………………….

    “Jesus live in my temple”………………………………………………………………….

  31. 58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

What power there is in mercy and forgiveness! Stephen didn’t know it but he was praying for Saul that day… look at the effect that it had on his life! Our prayers and mercy toward others may effect the lives of people in ways we never imagined so let’s posses a forgiving spirit in our daily lives.

  32. 38 This is he, that was in the CHURCH in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

I never noticed this word in this verse. This is were we receive lively oracles, in the house of the Lord. Just like Moses, we need to come with complete reverence before God. We are not worth, but a God in his grace made us worth, to sit in high places with Jesus Christ. This is my CHURCH, I am the church, we are his body, and his bride.
Let build a CHURCH for God.

  33. 24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

Moses tried to rush the plan of God by showing the children of Israel that he was going to deliver them from the Egyptians. But God’s timing is perfect and we are wise not to rush it

  34. 5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

God’s promises are true and everlastiing no matter how unlikely it may seem that the promise can be fulfilled, there is nothing that is impossible with God.

  35. “And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.”(Acts‬ ‭7:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

Jesus spoke and said the nation that who ever shall be in bondage will judge or punish. So the Egyptians were punished not by human means but by the divine power of the mighty Gods own immediate hand that in the fulness of time that very night in which gods promise was to take effect: therefore it is a night to be much observed as showing to the sabbath of his people that the destruction of his enemies they slumber not!!! God delivers his people for that they may serve him,he grants his people for that we would be delivered from the hand of our enemies , we serve him without fear in our eyes so long as God hath any work for them to do in this world, he will preserve and deliver them.!!! In Jesus Name Amen !!!
