Acts 19

1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

  1. Verses 8-10 MSG “Paul then went straight to the meeting place. He had the run of the place for three months, doing his best to make the things of the kingdom of God real and convincing to them. But then resistance began to form as some of them began spreading evil rumors through the congregation about the Christian way of life. So Paul left, taking the disciples with him, and set up shop in the school of Tyrannus, holding class there daily. He did this for two years, giving everyone in the province of Asia, Jews as well as Greeks, ample opportunity to hear the Message of the Master.” There always seems to be some resistance when the Word of God is trying to go forth as Paul was doing his best to make the things of the kingdom of God real and convincing to these people. We cannot be ignorant and think that the same will not happen to us (POFW); but, the Lord is on our side and He will bring forth victory! We must continue in doing our best in sharing Jesus with everyone (our Friends)!

  2. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

These men were not filled with the Holy Ghost and when they tried to cast out the evil spirit, this was their response. I wonder if some of us tried to cast out some evil spirit would we have enough power with God to be known by the evil spirit. They acknowledged knowing who the Apostle Paul was, now we must know how important it is to be filled with the Holy Ghost.

    Who was Diana?

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

Artemis was the goddess of chastity, virginity, the hunt, the moon, and the natural environment.
She was the daughter of Zeus and Leto, twin sister of Apollo. She was born on the island of Ortygia (Delos), where Leto had found shelter after being hunted by the lawful wife of Zeus, Hera. As soon as Artemis was born, she helped her mother give birth to her twin brother, thereby becoming the protector of childbirth and labour. She asked her father to grant her eternal chastity and virginity, and never gave in to any potential lovers; devoted to hunting and nature, she rejected marriage and love.

Wow, I did not know this…more study needed on my part.

  4. 28. And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

    34. But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

If they could cry out to an idol that had never done anything for anyone, how much more should we cry out to the one, true living God that has done so much for everyone!

  5. THE CORRET NAME WITH NO AUTHORITY

The WORD of GOD affirms the name of JESUS to be above every name and to possess all power in heaven and in earth. However the lives of many believers this power is not evident or active. Consider the context in which the sons of Sceva were attempting to use the power of JESUS name to get rich, in comparison to todays false prophets and money hungry preachers. They may use the name of JESUS but the end result of many of them is that they are uncovered and their credibility is deeply wounded.

We are challenged today to speak the name of JESUS from the foundation of a relationship with JESUS that he is in us and we are in HIM. If you are speaking the name of JESUS in a situation but you are not speaking to JESUS in prayer, then evil spirits are laughing at you.

Choose JESUS today and establish a continual foundation of PRAYER to JESUS and walk in the power and authority that is promised the believer and follower of JESUS.

  6. As soon as they herd this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus then when Paul laid hands on them the Holy Spirit come on them and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.,

  7. 2 “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them. (NLT)

All he did was ask them a simple question; real easy, pain free, just a quick question. When was the last time we asked someone such a question that led them to salvation? Lead us, lead me God, to those who need and desire You today, in Jesus Name.

  8. Discord and Disunity

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

Two men had the power to confuse a whole city. There is nothing the devil fears more than Christians who are united. This means that his number one tactic is to bring disunity in the Church. However, Mathew 18:19 states: Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Deuteronomy 32:20 reminds us that one can put 1000 to flight and two can put ten thousand to flight.

I have been to a few symphony concerts; whether you like this style of music or not there is no other sound like the beginning of a symphony. As each musician sits and plays a note to ensure their instrument is in tune. The sound is horrible. However, when the conductor raises his baton, silence falls the every musician follows the direction of the conductor and the harmonious sound is heavenly. The difference is unity. What’s the difference; all the instruments are in “one accord”.

We can impact Ft. Worth and the world. John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. Unity will work for sinners like it will work for saints. This is exactly why our nation is in the shape it is in, while the church is trying to keep up. It’s time that we stop the division and strive for unity in Jesus name.

  9. Peter was a man of his word!

Acts 18:20-21 They asked him to stay longer, but he declined. As he left, however, he said, “I will come back later, God willing.” Then he set sail from Ephesus.

He said he would come back and we see in Acts chapter 19, he kept his word and returned to Ephesus.

19:1 While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers.

If we are going to be The Books Of Acts Church we need to keep our word and live a righteous life!

  10. “And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”

    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:10, 20‬ ‭KJV

When the word of God is increased it allows God to move and miracles to happen. We will see souls saved.

Application: Be the Book of Acts Church. MORE Word. Share the Word. Let Jesus out and we will see miracles signs and wonders.

“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But the word of God grew and multiplied.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭KJV‬

  11. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

There is only one way to be Baptized. There is power in the name of Jesus.

  12. 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

Many people may say there Christian and they may act like they are Christian but they don’t know the truth of salvation. Like the disciples they where with John but they didn’t know what the Holy Ghost was or what name they should be baptized in. It’s up to us to tell the lost what they are missing out on. Everyday we walk by someone that has never heard of God it’s up to us if we want to change that and once we tell them the truth it’s up to them if they want to receive it but you know and God knows we are going to change and save this world! 🙂

  13. Persistent and Consistent

Persistent- continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition

Consisent- unchanging in achievement or effect over a period of time.

Paul persistently preach for “three months.” Wow! What a example of how we are to be as believers. I am not saying be rude but by Word and deed, we should persistently pursue to win those we love.

Not only was Paul persistent but he was also consistent. Even when some did not receive him; he continued to preach truth. He did not waver and try to come up with a watered down gospel, that they would enjoy but he taught truth and nothing but it. What joy we have to know that if He was able to reach the lost by truth, we can too. It’s just that easy.

    So… What is Truth?
JESUS= Truth and Turth = JESUS

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

So, we must be persistently and consistently preach JESUS!

  14. Acts 19:2 There he found some disciples and asked them Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you beloved? They answer, no we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit. So poaul asked then what bastism did you receive? John’s baptism they replied. Paul said john’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him that is in Jesus. On hearing this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke in tongues, and prophesied . there was about twelve men in all.

  15. 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

These “certain disciples” represent the many hunger souls in the Region of Fort Worth. They are “disciples” to a degree, as much as they know. But just like in this illustration, they didn’t know further about baptism in Jesus name and infilling of Holy Ghost. Once another step in their relationship with Jesus was shared with them, the knowledge that they could go deeper and higher, they readily accepted the knowledge and proceeded to be baptized and were filled. This is how we must approach people in our city. Those that are “church goers” but do not have truth. Many are doing what they know to do but are so hungry for MORE. We must show them the MORE so that they can grow deeper in the Kingdom of God.

  16. Acts 19:13-16
13, Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
14, And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15, And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16, And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Because the seven sons of Sceva didn’t know Jesus or have a relationship with him, they had no power over the evil spirit. (For the evil spirit leaped on them, overcame them, and prevailed against them, and they fled that house naked and wounded.)
Evil spirits know who their enemys are and well not waste time on those who are not a threat to them. Therefore it was dangerous for the seven sons of Sceva to take the reality of Spiritual Warfare so lightly.

As a child of God, we must not take Spiritual Warfare lightly, because the enemy knows who we are. We must be full of the Holy Ghost and put on the whole armour of God everyday.
Eph. 6:11-12 says , “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

We are fighting a Spiritual Warfare. Therefore…
    No Jesus – No Power
    Know Jesus – Know Power

Thank you JESUS for the Power of the Holy Ghost!

  17. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

What miracles will we see when 100% gives to the building? Blessings and miracles. When we do what God says and say under the anointing that only comes through submission will we see great things happen.

  18. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  19. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

There are many people in this world who believe in Jesus Christ, but have not yet received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Not many people are as blessed as us to know about the Holy Ghost. Let’s go out and reach these people and tell them and about the beautiful gift of the Holy Ghost.

  20. “A preachers kingdom”

God did amazing thins through Paul things that ordinary people couldnt really believe. Because God used him he got very popular in the city and in the church. But never once as we can see in the book of acts and all the epistles in the bible that Paul never got big headed about. He always pointed the glory back to God.
Many preachers now a days dont give the glory back to the one that belongs to. They like the attention they get so they use it to build there fame and wealth. Never really having touch of the true kingdom of God.
But instead replace Gods kingdom with there own kingdom. Mega churches can be a place where many hypocrites stand on stage.

Our life is nothing we need to build his kingdom not ours. Be filled with the Holy Ghost so that the name of Jesus can be affective.

  21. Act 19:18 — Act 19:20
Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices.
And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.
So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.

If we want the Word of the Lord to Prevail and increase in our lives, we must be willing to confess and throw away everything that is hindering us. Whether it be anger, pain, worldly, or canal desires no matter the cost of it. God will replace it with something greater.

  22. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

Another reason why bibles studies are needed. There are certain people may need to be educated about the need to be born again of the water and of the Spirit.

  23. 15But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” 16Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

The devil knows and recognizes his enemies, in this case the evil spirits did not feel threatened by these men. Why not? These men did not have a personal relationship with God. They knew of God only because of Paul, but knew him not. Before we use his name, Jesus, we better know who he really is. If not the enemy will pounce on us for not knowing him!

  24. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

WOW all three types of baptisms found in the bible are right here.

Although many other religions baptize in some other way, the only two ways hat we are to be baptized are : in Jesus Name for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced in speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance.

  25. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

This part of the book of Acts is very important. If you don’t allow the authority, chain of command in your life, you will find yourself overcome by those spirits you think you have authority over. But if your not under authority you cannot be authority over. God will bless your mess but he will never go against his word.

  26. Acts 19 v 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

All we need is in GOD’S HOUSE
GOD is doing great things through HIS children .GOD wants to use you today and bring forth special miracles for HIS GLORY.
Stop doubting and worrying about what we don’t have and start standing on HIS PROMISES . Thank you JESUS!!!!

  27. All it takes is one prideful fool to get everybody in an uproar. Demetrius was angry that his idolatrous way of living would be laid to rest, so he made a public scene, and uproar, getting other people involved and pulling them into his problem. He was the one who seemed to have a problem with it. People are naturally attracted to distention and when not grounded in the Word hey are easily led astray. Alexander was pulled out of the crowd and addressed Demetrius , saying if you have a problem, take it to court. For everyone else, we cannot give a reason why your out here shouting like mad people. Go home, this is not your problem. Some time God let’s us know when its none of our business. 😀

  28. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

I believe it when men of God say the day is coming that entire churches will come to the truth of the i filling of the holy ghost and baptism in Jesus name and I cannot wait to see the day with my own eyes.

  29. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Are we dedicated to our faith so much so that ALL that around us hear the Word? Probably not many of us have been persecuted for our faith but a love for so deep for God’s creation should never be under-shadowed by the potential of possibly violent hatred. Through all things, experiences, and actions, God is good. That is way more important to tell someone than live in fear of Satan for one’s time on Earth then in hell for eternity.

  30. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

Hallelujah you know that we when the devil is trying to put people against you or try to make things go wrong is because he is afraid of you. That is why I always pray without ceasing praying the precious blood of Jesus over my family and myself because the devil will NOT get near my family or MY CHURCH!!!! I used to be scared and worried about things all the time but now I know who I serve and His name is Jesus!!!! Earth is His footstool and there is nothing that the devil can do to me because I am MORE than an overcomer, I am His child and by His stripes I am FREE!!!!
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Cor 3:17

  31. Acts 19:9-11 (KJV Strong’s)

Paul couldn’t take it anymore. He was tired of the attitudes, and the rejection. So following Jesus instruction to shake the dust off his feet he turned to teach in the school of Tyrannus. Commentators say that Tyrannus held his school in the morning before the heat of the day. Since the school was open to anyone, and many took naps during this time, Paul chose to use this school to preach the gospel. It was hot outside but he still continued daily for two years.

God used this inconvenient situation and brought himself glory. Though Paul preached in the heat the Bible says all they which dwelt in Asia heard he word of the Lord.

    Nothing is impossible for God.

  32. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

    Vagabond: adjective
    1.
wandering from place to place without any settled home; nomadic:
    a vagabond tribe.
    2.
leading an unsettled or carefree life.

The seven sons of sceva (which translates to mind reader) were likely unsubmitted and uncovered. They were carefree, roamers. There was no protection from an attack. The spirit realm recognizes us by our relationship with Christ and the covering of the anointed men of God we submit under.

  33. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Peter was bold and told these people about the holy Ghost the best gift anyone can recieve! We need to have the same boldness about reaching the loss not worry about if they will recieve it or not Let God take care of that and move in them.

  34. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

They heard, they obeyed, and therefore their name was written in the lamb’s book of life. One should never forget that the opposite of obedience; is disobedience. Dear God, forgive me and change me, so that when I stand before you on judgement day that it may be declared I was obedient to your word and the true man of God (true: full of the Holy Ghost. Preaches/Teaches the complete word of JESUS); “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  35. 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

I pray that everybody will open there heart up to this in the name of jesus!!!!

  36. There is still power in the name of Jesus. Every devil has to flee at the name of Jesus. The enemy will do everything he can to stop you from calling on the mighty name of Jesus. This should encourage us to call on his name even the more so. Let’s put the enemy where he belongs, under our feet.

  37. Church, we as the body of Christ Jesus have this same power living in us that has been done by the hands of Paul. This same power lives in us, God is with us, “Emmanuel”, Greater is he who lives in me, than he that’s in the world. “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!”

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

    Ref: 1 John 4:4, Philippians 4:13…………

  38. “The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:17-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There’s is power in Jesus name. Power in the name of Jesus!!!!

  39. “and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Some people don’t know about the gift of the Holy Ghost. That’s why it is our calling to spread this news to everyone. Be a friend and share this great message

  40. “But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Something’s the things we go through the flowery God more than we could ever imagine.

  41. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

There’s only one name to be baptized under and that is the name of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:13-15 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius
Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

  42. The name of Jesus is not intended to be used like a lucky rabbit’s foot. We can’t say the name and expect to overpower the demons of hell. Their is no hocus pocus nonsense when it comes to the authority That rests in the name above every name when you are under it. In the story seven men use the name of Jesus like a lucky charm. They use the name of Jesus as they would any other god, adding Paul’s name just for good measure. They don’t know Jesus, they are certainly not filled with the Holy Ghost and they have no right to speak on His holy name. Believers, on the other hand, are empowered by the Holy are called to operate as representatives of Christ in the name of Jesus. When we speak in Jesus’ name and the power of his shed blood, the demons must obey … Because Jesus is present!
