Acts 21

1 And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:

2 And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.

3 Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.

4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

6 And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.

7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

8 And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

15 And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.

16 There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.

17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.

19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:

21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.

23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;

24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

32 Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.

33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.

35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.

36 For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.

37 And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?

38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?

39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

  1. Verse 30 MSG “Soon the whole city was in an uproar, people running from everywhere to the Temple to get in on the action. They grabbed Paul, dragged him outside, and locked the Temple gates so he couldn’t get back in and gain sanctuary.” The end of this verse spoke to me about staying in and staying close. They locked the Temple gates so Paul couldn’t get back in and gain sanctuary (safety or safe haven). So many things, issues, people, distractions, etc. are going to try and come against you to keep you out and away from God; BUT (remember God’s is bigger) Psalm 32:8 NLT says “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 37:23-24 NLT says “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

4And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

When we read this verse and then read what ultimately happened toward the end of this chapter, we have to ask ourselves the following question, “Why was Paul disobedient to the Spirit”? (4who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.) The answer can be complicated and yet also simple at the same time. Paul had already heard the voice of the Lord clearly and therefore refused to allow anyone talk him out of the plan that God had laid out. In a sense, even God himself couldn’t talk Paul out of the journey.

We would do good to follow the example of Paul and not so easily change our minds when the opportunity arises.

  3. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Paul had already been told that he should go to Caesar and preach to him. Paul had weighed all the options and knew what was the will of God. These things only helped him understand that he was in God’s will. We should always be searching for the will of God and be willing to do what it takes to accomplish his will!

  4. Acts 21: 9
And the same man had four daughter’s virgin’s which did prophesy.

We must understand what god wants us to do like the 4 daughter’s which did prophesy so obey the word of God More Jesus . Amen

  5. 11. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

    12. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

They had good intentions and were concerned for Paul, but he saw the bigger picture and knew what he was called to do. Sometimes we allow people with good intentions keep us from our calling, but we must press on and keep focused on what God is leading us to.

No matter what always listen to the Spirit of God even if it seems like you might not know what your doing. Jesus is The Lord of Lords and His plans are better and bigger than our own plans. I am blessed to be where I am now spiritually but I know this is just the beginning and there is MORE to come 🙂 I believe that Jesus will never put you over something or make you go through something if your not ready. I have all my faith and trust in Jesus and I know my Father will not put me anywhere to fail because I am Victorious!!!! Hallelujah!!!!

  7. SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY

34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.

The Spirit of the LORD that was in Paul was so powerful that GOD sent strong delusion to those around him. Paul was assured of his destiny in JESUS, however others were confounded by the power of JESUS they witnessed in the apostle.

May we be filled with the Holy Ghost and walk in SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY because we are under authority. This will cause our adversaries to be confused and we will walk in peace.

  8. 14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Jesus taught this principle in what we refer to as the Lord’s prayer; Luke 11:2 “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth”. Why do we need to pray for His will to be done? I believe Jesus included this in the prayer in order to help us align our thinking and actions with God’s purpose and plan for our lives. Additionally, When we pray for God’s will to be done BEFORE we ask Him for “our daily bread” (our daily needs and wants) we acknowledge that what God is doing is more important than our own activities.

Jesus himself also prayed “Thy will be done”. Matthew 26:42 “He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done”. Again, Jesus was giving us an example to follow. He was providing an example of the behavior we need to live by. Even though Jesus wasn’t looking forward to the suffering He would have to endure, He was completely committed to fulfilling the will of God. As we live our lives, we need to have similar “Thy will be done” attitudes. Living in accordance with God’s will must be our top priority. Seeking God’s Kingdom must be the primary focus of our lives.

  9. 14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done. (NLT)

Paul had a whole lot of determination and no one could sway his decision. He trusted in God and knew he had people, fellow believers, who understood and prayed diligently for him. Sometimes in the end all you can say is “the will of the Lord be done.”

  10. The spirits message caused the believers concern Luke is not saying that the believers were instructed to try to dissuade the apostle .

  11. Acts 21:10-14 (NLT)
    10) Several days later a man named Agabus, who also had the gift of prophecy, arrived from Judea. 11) He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said, “The Holy Spirit declares, So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.”. 12) When we heard this, we and the local believers all begged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.
    13) But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.” 14) When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, ” The Lord’s will be done.”

Eph. 6:6 says, “Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart:”
Paul was not a menpleaser, but a Godpleaser. As a servant of Christ, he was not only ready to be bound but to die for the name of Jesus. He was ready and willing to do the will of the Lord from his heart.
We too, as the servants of Christ, must not be menpleasers, but Godpleasers and ready to do the will of the Lord from our hearts.

  12. 13 Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”

Would you give your life for Gods name? You would have to leave your life your family and friends but you would die for the Lords name. God died for us he died because he knew that almost everyday we would sin but he thought you were worth saving! If that’s not enough to stand for his name think of the miracle and blessings he put in your life, so you could be free he died for you! He didn’t change his mind when the Angels and disciples told him don’t do Lord, but he died for each and every one of us! When standing up for Gods name don’t let anything change your mind, because when you stand up you could show others how much faith you put in God and that can save there life! Don’t be ashamed and don’t back down because one day the people that try holding you back will bow down to the One truth living God! 🙂

  13. How far will you go for Christ???

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

I was reading an article yesterday how the Cartel in Mexico has killed Pastors for not taking bribes to keep quiet about their doings. They were actually decapitated and their heads displayed in the front steps of their churches to intimidates other Christians. Catholic leaders are actually protected by police but our humble Brothers and Sisters in Christ don’t have the same protection. It is time to awaken!!!! We are not speaking across the world in the orient some where? Or a country where being a Christian is illegal because of the rules of government. We are speaking of our Brothers and Sisters of South America where the regime is actually criminals of drugs leaderships that unless you go by their rules and keep your mouths shots as they continue to poison our children you meet your maker, killed, tortured, and left there to show others, intimidate others to stop speaking the Truth. What will you do? Will you continue preaching the Gospel as Christ and Paul did??? or will you run and hide like others did? May the Lord gives us Courage, Strength, Peace, and Confidence in His Word and Truth to scream it from the Mountain Top. In Jesus Name AMEN.

  14. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Just like Jesus, Paul knew ahead of time that his death was soon to come, and was willing to do the will of God.

Kim Davis keeps coming to my mind, she might not have known when she took this job that this would happen but when the evil things started to turn more and more in this world she knew by the Holy Ghost what was going to happen. And I pray the Lord Bless her, strengthen her, keep her safe with angels all around her. In Jesus Name Amen.

    Its time to be BOLD.

  15. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

    Prophecy is real.

How many prophecies have been spoken in our church? Many. How many of them have come to pass? Most of them. Why then do we deny those words? I remember one time that Bro Guy came and said that he saw twisted metal. And that same week one of our friends was in an accident and we found out that two of the three motor mounts in our car was broken. Never underestimate the word of God. Weither it be from the book or the man of God.

  16. “When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Through the good and the bad let the Lords Will be done!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  17. 14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

In all things, good or bad, we have to put our trust in the Lord and believe in his will. For the Lord already knows the plans he has for us all we have to do is follow him where he leads us!!

  18. 28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

They can kick you out but they can’t kick the Holy Ghost out of you!

  19. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
We should always make sure we are doing what God wants us to do. Always make sure we do the will of God and be in the will of God in our lives. Sometimes God has to teach us or show us thru his word or the man of God just to confirm what he already said for us to do but we are hard headed stiff neck people. We want our way instead o God’s way. Gods way is always better!!!

  20. 4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

These people were empowered through prayer and fasting, that they daily walked in the spirit and was given direction and warnings from the Lord. Imagine whose live we could impact if we would take the time daily to prayer through the natural into the supernatural and hear/see what the Lord’s will for the day would be.

    MORE of You JESUS!

  21. 18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.

19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:

Declare your testimony and the testimony of others and what God has done in their lives to people, it can be a powerful tool to bring people to God.

  22. v4 And finding disciples, we tarrried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
v14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying,
The will of the Lord be done.

These verses let us know that these disciples had relationship with GOD
Which means prayer . That’s the only way GOD will reveal HIS SPIRITUAL knowledge not our will but ” GOD’S WILL BE DONE IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

John 7:16-17 ” My doctrine is not minbe, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, wheather it be of God, or whether I speak of myself”

  23. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

I have found thatit is best to pray thy will be done. Because his ways are higher and wiser then any decision I ever make. Thank you Jesus.

  24. 5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore

Prayer meetings anywhere… We should not be ashamed to take a moment and pray wherever we are or whatever the time. We call on the Lord and God who has all power and authority. We must be an example and bring back prayer to our lives to our cities.

  25. The preparation before imprisonment

    Acts 21:11 (NLT)
11 He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said, “The Holy Spirit declares, ‘So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’”

This wasn’t a warning to cause Paul to deter. Instead it was a admonition to be prepared. The Lord wanted Paul to know he would face imprisonment, and would be bound and turned over to the Gentiles.

The same people Paul was called to speak to were the ones who would persecute him. Why the warning?

I believe God wanted Paul to realize some things.

First, God was with Paul during this future endeavor.
Second, because it was his will it was also his grace that would empower him to do it.
Third, Paul was mentally prepared for the revival that would soon take place.

Sometimes God will let us know before calamity and chaos strike. This isn’t to get us all scared and running away but to help us realize we are called for this. I believe Paul was now empowered knowing what he would face!

  26. As a Christian it will not always be easy. There will be days that you will have to fight harder then others. God gives us the strength to endure. Even though we may feel like giving up, we have the power to continue to move on. Let us hold fast to God’s hand so that we don’t go astray.

  27. 25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

    Keep yourself from…

It is the believers responsibility to guard themselves from sin .
    1corinthians 618
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

  28. 28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

This is exactly what’s happening in the U.S. today, ignorant rhetoric is being aired in main stream media so much that people believe these things as true. All someone has to do is begin to rant loudly and be ignorantly bold and speak and stir up evil in people against others. All this proves is one thing, the church needs more Jesus, and more and more of Jesus. Not let down calling on Jesus and being Souled for Jesus. That’s it, Like Lee Stone King said, I present to you the solution to all the problems in the world, JESUS!

  29. All the people respond naturally trying to dissuade Paul not to go to Jerusalem. They see the signs and want Paul to be spared. However, Paul makes his decision clear. He sees the warning signs too, but for him their is no turning back. He will be bound; he will be imprisoned; later, he will even die for Jesus (vs13). His declaration rings throughout the centuries, giving boldness and courage to believers from every age who face discouragement, persecution and even death. Don’t quit, keep pressing forward.

  30. “Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes an illustration is needed to convey the exact point you’re trying to make with others. Actions do speak louder than words.

  31. 11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

Everyone heard the same message here but there was two understandings. For those not directly involved this was a warning and they believed Paul shouldn’t go but Paul knew this wasn’t really a warning but God was letting him know his plan before it happened. It was like God was saying “heads up Paul this is what is going to happen, don’t be surprised.” We need to test Gods word when it comes to us, make sure we are not being led by our flesh but by his Spirit..

  32. 4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

Paul had received forewarning, which he acknowledged; “Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” One would be wise if one receives a word to first identify the source, and then acknowledge it if it is from the Lord (Jesus). Dear God, open my ears and grant me wisdom that I may hear you, clearly; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. Iam just thinking are we readly to die for the lord jesus ? We say we are but are we !!!!!

  34. oops…….I almost skipped this scripture somehow. But, Paul was committed to this gospel and was willing to do anything for Jesus Christ. His wisdom helped him in many ways. Especially, knowing the laws like the Roman Law, and also his rights as a Jewish descent. So, he knew how to work the system sort a speak. God knew this, another great reason he was chosen.

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

    “Stay Committed”……………………………………………………………………..

  35. 40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

Paul, was beaten so badly, they had to carry him to the castle, yet his desire was to witness. His mind was set on his mission and knowing what he faced before he ever came, he was determined to accomplish it.

  36. Even in a rough situation you still have to get on peoples levels to get your point across. Paul turns to the soldier and addresses him in Greek. He is granted license to speak to the people who are outraged by his very presence. He turns to the people and relates with them . He addresses them in Hebrew. A hush falls over them and the stage is set for his testimony to be heard. How perfect for God to prepare the opportunity.

  37. Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

To have the certainty and faith in God to be ready and know we have done everything in our power that God has commanded of us for His kingdom, should be our goal

  38. “The commander agreed, so Paul stood on the stairs and motioned to the people to be quiet. Soon a deep silence enveloped the crowd, and he addressed them in their own language, Aramaic.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Just like the people were against Paul and out of nowhere they were silent to hear what he had to say….God will silence our enemies and with Him we can speak to those against us to reach to them

  39. “And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut. And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:30-31‬ ‭KJV

The people’s anger was driving them. They were in a position where they were going to kill Paul forcefully if there was no intervention. The news of this uprising spread to the head policeman and he came to stop the event.
News travels fast. Bad news often travels faster than good. In this case it was beneficial that people were talking about things because it saved Paul’s life. God used the whispers of men to save Paul. I wonder how many times God has used this same method to alert those in authority about the uprisings in our own lives. Maybe the camotions that occur with some are a plea for help.

  40. Acts 21: 10 after we had been there a number o days a prohet named Agabus came down from Judea . Coming iver to us he took Paul’s belt tied his own hands and feet with it and said The Holy Spirit says in this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles. When we heard this we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

  41. 13 Then Paul replied, “what are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Are we so in love with Jesus that we are ready to die for His name?
