Proverbs 7

1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

  1. With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭7‬:‭21-27‬ KJV)

Many (Christians) have fallen into this trap. Marriages broken, and divorce has now taken place in the lives of children. Everyone loses as the family is no longer. Yes, temptations are there, but through the word of GOD that is in you, The Holy Ghost can keep you from this, you can overcome, but you must want to.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ KJV)

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬ KJV)

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ KJV)

Jesus protect our minds and guard our hearts!!!!

  2. Verses 1-3 MSG “Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions. Do what I say and you’ll live well. My teaching is as precious as your eyesight—guard it! Write it out on the back of your hands; etch it on the chambers of your heart.” Same verses CEV “My son, pay close attention and don’t forget what I tell you to do. Obey me, and you will live!
Let my instructions be your greatest treasure. Keep them at your fingertips and write them in your mind.”

Matthew 6:21 AMP “for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also.”

Luke 12:34 AMP ” For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

  3. My son keep my words and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers write them upon the table of thine heart. He wants us to always live by his commandments and his word..

  4. SEDUCTION

I recall a day my dad had taken me to the capital of Puerto Rico a very historical gated city of old Spanish architecture, and cobble stone roads. Being the port where all ship come in, you have the good areas and the bad areas. Usually we stayed from sun up to evening and leave before sun down; but my sweet aunt made an effort and had cook dinner so we stayed a bit longer. As we walked back to the port, we passed some questionable women, and I asked my dad why they dressed like they did, and why she ask him for a date. My daddy in his great wisdom said the same thing “they are strange women baby” ….. at such an early age I quite did not understand; but since my father was a man of his word, I took it as truth for he always told me the truth when I asked a question no matter what. It was a sad moment when they removed the Ten Commandments from the Oklahoma Court. They were originally placed to remind human kind that there is a law ABOVE ALL ELSE’S, GOD’S LAW!!!!! The moment they removed them we shattered that believe and put Men’s law over God’s. I love the fact that God says: “Bind them upon thy fingers” 10 Commandments – 10 Fingers coincidence; not the least!!!!!

May God keep us in His Holy Hands, and may we keep His Law in ours as a reminder not to sin. In Jesus Name AMEN.

  5. iLove to eat More Word

    “Natural/Supernatural”
In the natural we can all see and realize these verses are talking about the immoral “Strange” woman. But let’s look into the supernatural realm for a moment and see what the strange woman might represent.

Notice this verse in Proverbs 7:14 KJV, “I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.” With this verse we can clearly see that this woman is “religious”. In the Word there are metaphors to describe the real church and the fake church. The real church is compared to a virgin and the false church is compared to a harlot. With that being said and without going through the scriptures at this time to prove it, let us look at this verse in a new light.

The husband in the Proverb is Jesus and he has gone on a journey and will one day come back. The false church is seductively luring souls into their house (churches) but they have no structure (Doctrine) within themselves. Notice the scripture that describes the young man in Proverbs 7:7 KJV “And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding”.

Without revealed revelation in God’s Word, souls will continue to accept the lies of seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Souls will continue to be lured into the rooms of those seducing spirits that are anciently connected to the pagan worship traditions of Egypt (like the ancient pagan doctrine of the trinity.) The false doctrine (fair speech) might sound beautiful and the lights and smoke might give a great “club like” experience, but false doctrine always leads to death.

The spiritual immoral woman has a favorite saying by the way…”Don’t worry about anything, Once Saved Always Saved.”

Proverbs 7:26 KJV For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

  6. 24 And now, O sons, listen to me,
and be attentive to the words of my mouth.

    25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways;
do not stray into her paths,

26 for many a victim has she laid low,
and all her slain are a mighty throng.

27 Her house is the way to Sheol,
going down to the chambers of death.

Men we need do not need to fall unto a harlot a wise heart will not fall into this trap do not ever ever even think about giving that women attention that is just evil and unrighteousness. Yet it’s nots always the weak who fall but the strong fall also a good example is Samson . But yet There is still no heavenly home for these women or the men but unless you repent and turn away from your sins . Do not pay attention to these type of women or go to them they WILL destroy your life and bring death to you.

  7. 2. Stay true to my directives, and they will serve you well; make my teachings the lens through which you see life.

    3. Bind cords around your fingers to remind you of them; meditate on them, and you’ll engrave them upon your heart. The Voice:

People are forgetful, so we must be reminded constantly of Wisdom and her ways. We don’t always need to hear something new; often we just need to be reminded of what is true. In these Proverbs wisdom is found when one not only knows what is true, but acts on that knowledge.

  8. What is it with this generation…

7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

Is it an epidemic with this current young adult generation or is my memory failing me? It appears to me the current young adult generation lacks respect for anything and everything. Never have we heard or seen stories of disrespect from young people as we do today. It seems every day there is another person in the news displaying a lack of respect for others. From a police officer murdered while refueling to the county clerk in Kentucky. How did we get to this point and more importantly how can we get back?

  9. 1 My son, keep my words and treasure my commandments within you [so they are readily available to guide you].
2 Keep my commandments and live, and keep my teaching and law as the apple of your eye. (AMP)

Treasure and keep the commandments of God within you; we need His word leading and guiding us daily. Thank You Jesua for Your word, today You will save me!

  10. 24-25 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

    Why tempt yourself?
The word say “go not astray in her paths” in the message version it reads “don’t even stroll through her neighborhood.”. As children of God, there are some places we simply do not go. We are continually a living testimony.

    Romans 16:17 (KJV)
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

AVOID – to keep away, to stop oneself from doing

Children can avoid chores like darkness avoids light! They will come up with ANY and EVERY excuse on why and how that cannot complete their chores.

As children of God we should be the same way toward sinful paths. You should FLEE from ANY and ALL situations that will lead to the wrong path.

    1 Corinthians 10:14 (KJV)
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

    2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

    Flee the Foolishness!

  11. 22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Not knowing it will cost our life we all tend to fall into the trap of her love(sin) thinking were strong enough. But eere only strong if Gods is with us and were filled with his spirit

  12. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

To have wisdom is to obey the laws of God! When we disobey God we make it harder on ourselves! Lets listen to the words of God, keep them in our hearts, and live by them each and every day!!

  13. 24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

The ways of this world are cunning and deceptive. You think you’re getting one thing and you’re really getting another. We are admonished here to be aware of what is happening around us. Don’t be sucked into the carnality of this world. It appears to be easy to be lullabyed, rocked to sleep, and when we wake we may be like Samson and have lost our “spiritual ” strengthen. Awake ZION, the time is near, HIS coming is soon. Don’t be caught chasing after the world!

  14. 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

We must teach the youth what to do and where to go. I have been apart of the youth group as a leader for several years. And I see the tough life that most of them have. Many are crying out for a leader, a mentor in their lives. But don’t have many to look to. As the church who has the truth, it saddens me that many great people of God don’t get more involved in their lives. I can remember many times when I had someone in the church there for me. Especially when my dad passed away. This is one reason why I have a heart for these youth. No one usually takes the time to get to know youth.

  15. DOWNWARD SPIRAL

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Seduction and deception are extremely cunning. Seducing spirits are contagious. They present illustious promises and deliver nothing.

    1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

With seducing spirits lies are common conversation. They cannot be trusted, they promise and never deliver what has been promised.

Women are not the only seducers, certain men with strong charisma are often prey to entertain the spirit of seduction.

We must repent and FOLLOW JESUS. Measure every decision in the WORD of GOD for maximum protection.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  16. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
The Word of God is our safehaven. He protects us from evil. His wisdom is good, and beneifical for us. Leaving God’s wisdom will only lead to Hell, no other place.

  17. Flee adultery

This whole chapter alludes to the imagery of adultery. Sometimes it isn’t blatant, it could be with someone who pretends to be unmarried. An easy way to avoid this is not entertain thoughts or commit actions outside of marriage. May our minds bring every thought into captivity of Christ and our actions pure, holy, and blameless.

  18. 7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

We can say that temptation is out there and we are to overcome it, but some can be easily overcome as choosing where you go. Wherever you allow your mind to go, your feet and your actions will go also. Pay attention to the scenario it was black, dark and night…and he went the way to her house. It can be as easy as turning on the light in your life. What places are you frequenting, what books are you reading, what are you watching, what web pages are you looking at, what music is in your ears? It can be as simply if there is no Light, no Jesus in it, don’t go there. If we keep our mind occupied with the Word of God and His Kingdom, binding it to our fingers and writing it in the tablet of our hearts, then there is no room for our minds, our feet, and actions to wonder elsewhere where there is no light and the end is death.

  19. Proverbs 7:6-9 (NLT)
    6) While I was at the window of my house, looking through the curtain,
    7) I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense.
    8) He was crossing the street near the house of an immoral woman, strolling down the path by her house.
    9) It was twilight, in the evening, as darkness fell.

My first thought, as I read these scriptures, was of ” the nosey neighbor.” The neighbor who is always looking out their window watching what everyone else in the neighborhood is doing.
My second thought was that evil is always done in the darkness.
Now as I put these two thoughts together, Ephesians 5:8, 11-12 says, “8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of the light. 11) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12) For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”

So don’t be a “nosey neighbor” and a busybody in other men’s matter. If someone is doing wrong in the dark, don’t even mention it for it is a shame even to speak of it.
As the children of God, we are light in the Lord, and we need to walk as children of light.

Keep Gods commandments and live, and let your light shine for Jesus.

  20. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Faithfulness, loyalty and purity is the tone repeated throughout the book of Proverbs. He tells us how the Lord decrees us to to keep his commandments, and live for them. It is a promise in the form of a command. He tells us how the Lord wants us to value his law “as the apple of thine eye” as to say keep them with all possible care and diligence, as men guard that most beloved part of the body from all danger. “Bind them upon thy fingers” As if a ring which is put upon them, and is continually in a man’s eye, enscribed on his heart. Constantly remember and meditate upon them. “Write them” and fiix them on your mind and affection and “say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister ” because the name of sister is a name of friendship, often used between the husband and wife, and denotes the chaste love which he should have to wisdom. “Call understanding thy kinswoman” Show her prudence for an acquaintance; while other foolish young men seek her as mistresses, whom they frequently call sisters, or kinswomen, let wisdom be your mistress; acquaint and delight thyself with her. Say to her, Thou art my sister, my spouse, my beloved: let her have the command of thy heart, and the conduct of your life.

  21. 2Obey my commands and live!
Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes.

All one has to do is to be obedient to the word, be faithful and honest. Temptation may come your way but have your sword ready for battle. Not only men but women also. Let us always be prepared for victory when tempted.

  22. 21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

    22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
It doesnt matter how attractive it may be or looks, sin is for a season. Its only temporary It will not last. Let’s not follow after the sinful desires of the flesh lets follow God

  23. Deceit is what will lead a strong person away from Christ. It has brought down many strong people because they were not aware that they were being deceived. God wants us to knoww the truth because it is what gives us power over the enemy. We are mighty through God.

  24. “Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye”. The word of God (Jesus) is clear what will happen if we will simply obey. The deceiver (satan) has and will always do whatever possible to distract and divide one from God. This is all the more why one should heed what sayeth the man of God, and why one should avoid an ear tickler (deceiver). Dear God, help me to recognize and keep your commandments; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  25. Building A House

4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

    Proverbs 24:3
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

    Proverbs 14:11
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

The house that we build will either help build us up or destroy us. When we build with the Lord, He keeps us from snares of the enemy and makes us strong in righteousness. However, if we choose to build without Him, we choose a house that is destined to fall and bring us down with it.

  26. Proverbs 7:14-15 (ESV Strong’s)
14 “I had to offer sacrifices,
    and today I have paid my vows;
15 so now I have come out to meet you,
to seek you eagerly, and I have found you.

The carnal mind is enmity against God. What a twisted position. Here this woman has fulfilled her obligations under the mosaic law and offered peace offerings. Now that she has done her duty she is planning to sin again.

The Lord knows the heart. He knows when we are genuine and when we are faking. I believe that God is tired of pretenders. It’s time to be transparent and real with God. Sinning because we know we can repent defeats the purpose.

  27. 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

It would be hard to count the number of people that pass in front of each of us every day that are headed straight to Hell. We can see it from our places of safety, where we sit in church and don’t reach out and reach for our friends and our families, because we become uncomfortable…

  28. 24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

Listen and obey. Follow the wisdom of the word of God for it will keep us safe. Learn from the mistakes of others-don’t repeat them!

  29. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Hallelujah!!!! Keep his commandments to store them in out hearts and live by them. If we have his commandments we will have life and live eternally. His word gives us life and peace and we shall treasure his commands because one day we might not be able to freely worship Jesus!!! Without you Lord I have no life you have literally turned my morning into dancing and sorrows into joy!!!! Thank you for the peace and life you have given me!!!!!

  30. “Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands. Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes. Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭7:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We need to keep Gods word safe in our hearts so that way we don’t get dragged down in anyway….Lord keep us from being distracted by this world and let us have that hunger and fire to read Your word and keep it in our hearts, let us have that hunger to reach the lost to bring them to safety, Lord let us have that Holy Ghost fire just like the day of Pentecost. In one place in one accord! For You God deserve all the glory and honor for all You have done and will do. Thank You Jesus!!!!

  31. “My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭7:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Keep the Lords commandments and it will help you stay clear of evil doings.

  32. “So, friends, listen to me, take these words of mine most seriously. Don’t fool around with a woman like that; don’t even stroll through her neighborhood. Countless victims come under her spell; she’s the death of many a poor man. She runs a halfway house to hell, fits you out with a shroud and a coffin.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭7:24-27‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This reminds me of the story of Eve being tempted by the serpent. If she had not been near the danger the fall could have been avoided.

“But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts).”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  33. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. (Poverbs 7:2 KJV)

We the people of Christ should keep our commitments that we make with our Lord and live, not the commandments of the law only, but the commandments and doctrines of Christ are called. To have faith in him, and love to the saints which is the way to live our lives comfortably, peaceably, pleasantly, and honorably. God says to keep His law as the apple of our eye, the doctrine of Christ the law of the Lord, that goes out before Zion. This should give us the mentality that anything God makes a command of is to be valued that it becomes the apple of our eyes, never losing sight of Him. In Jesus Name Amen !!!

  34. Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭7‬:‭4-5‬ KJV)

We should always keep wisdom and understanding near to us. They should help close and dear. Things that are ego strokers are just trying to get us to stray away from wisdom and understanding. If we are told someone likes something we do, we are more likely to listen to them even if they are ridiculous just because they made us feel good. Be cautious of those who flatter you with their word because hey are leading you away like someone a harlot. At first it is just nice to hear or look at. Then your attention has been pulled away from wisdom and understanding until you are giving everything over to these flatteries like someone who has lost control. Once this finally happens you can either say in this illusion of lack of understanding and wisdom or you might wake up to say, dear God, how did I get this far away and loose everything in the process?

  35. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Another example given in scripture that we need to live a holy life for God. This isn’t what saves us, but it is what defines us from the people of this world and it’s testiment to God showing how much we love him that we are willing to obey all of the commands of God

  36. In this scripture, it is clearly giving instructions of the power of seduction and a stern warning of where it will lead you. You must crucify your flesh, it not only brings renewing of your mind. But, it will preserve your soul from hell. If, you fall into any of these trappings. There’s no condemnation, but repent and move on in Christ Jesus. REPENT / TURN………………………………………”BE SAFE”……………

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

“His grace is sufficient, and his strength is perfected in weakness.” “Let the weak say they are strong”.
