Proverbs 11

1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

  1. 17. The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

When we show mercy we are not only helping someone else, but also our own souls. Just think where we would be today if someone had not shown us mercy; and without God’s mercy, we would have been destroyed long ago!

    • I was bound by the chains
From the wages of my sin
Just when I felt like giving in

      Mercy came running
      Like a prisoner set free
      Past all my failures
To the point of my need
When the sin that I carried
      Was all I could see
And when I could not reach mercy
      Mercy came running to me

  2. Verse 14 MSG “Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.” Psalm 32:8 NLT says “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”

Verse 25 MSG “The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” We are blessed to be a blessing!

  3. Proverbs 11:16
A gracious woman retaineth honour and strong men retain riches.

We must have strength and honour for jesus Christ so we can inter into the kingdom of God More Jesus. Amen

  4. 14 Where no counsel is the people fall : but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. I am glad that I have a counselor name Jesus. And that I go to him anytime of the day.

  5. 27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

What goes around comes around. We should be careful what goes forth from us. what we give will be given back (good or bad).

  6. iLove to eat More Word

    2Pride leads to disgrace,
    but with humility comes wisdom.
    3Honesty guides good people;
    dishonesty destroys treacherous people

The companies of the World would be wise to put Biblical principles in to play when hiring leadership. These principles would save corporations a lot of time and resources.

Why hire someone who is full of pride when ultimately pride leads to disgrace and dishonor. Oh, there might be a moment when the prideful seem to prosper, however, according to scripture it is only temporary.

I once helped an electrician who was extremely prideful. He had been a safety supervisor at another company and was let go. As I worked for him, he had no idea of what went on in the field and did everything backward. He would tell me to do something that was totally out of code and I would try to explain the code and he would threaten me. The company loved this fellow (I still to this day do not know how he managed to pass inspection) but needless to say, he did not stay long at the company. Lesson learned, do not hire the proud into the role of leadership unless you’re sure you want that sector to fail. Boom

  7. 19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

Hallelujah!!!! Thank you Jesus for your Word!!! You are the life to my soul, the peace that I desire, the joy, the love I need. You are the only one that can help me be righteous. Guide me Jesus daily Jesus to be MORE and MORE like you!!!! You are holy and mighty and endure forever!!!! No one like you Jesus! The devil is under my feet and I shall not fear because everything is yours and you have made us MORE than overcomers. The enemy will not stop me from rejoicing you and praising you Jesus!!!! GLORY!!!!!!

  8. As Bro Henderson stated last night… We are a blessed people.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

In today’s society, accountability is a foreign term. I have heard it many times; “Who do they think they are, telling me what to do.” I wonder why it is so hard for people to see and believe those who love them do not have their best interest in mind when we warn against things. I am thankful for the people who have the authority and permission to speak into my life. It seems people today have a privileged attitude that the world owes them something and no one has the right to tell them otherwise. Their perspective is wrong.

The privilege is a multitude of counsellors and people who love you and want you to succeed.

  9. “The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men–he gathers and receives them for eternity]. [Matt. 4:19; I Cor. 9:19; James 5:20.]”

    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:30‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Lord, I desire to be a tree of life and a fisher of men. I desire to be about my Fathers business.

  10. 30 The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends. (NLT)

This reminds me of what pastor preached on friends day. If we do good and follow the Lord as we should we can be a big fruitful tree with all of our friends around us. On the other hand we could be a scrawny little charlie brown tree with no leaves or fruit or any friends because we were probably to ashamed to tell others how good God has been in our lives. But then like Bro. Henderson preached yesterday we are the ones with the answer, with the key, to get into heaven. What are you doing with it? Don’t keep it secret and hidden but tell everyone the greatness of Gods salvation!

  11. Just wanted to say how much I love my God, church and church family!! My heart is overwhelmed with joy this morning as I reflect on what took place in our services yesterday. Sure, we physically seen some things change, but can we begin to imagine the things unseen that God put into motion…. Hear the sound of abundance of rain!!!

  12. 27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

One thing that God cannot do for us is what we seek after. If we seek after the will of God, we do iron our own free will. But if we seek after the things of this world then God cannot help us. We need to make up in our minds to seek after the things of God and seek his will; once we do that God can move in our lives and do great things.

  13. 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Thank you Jesus that we are in a souls winning church. This is one reason why we are blessed as a church. We go out reach the lost and bring them in.

    More souls
    More revival
    More acts church.

  14. Here, integrity means innocence. The upright are innocent of any wrong doing, but we see that the perverseness of the transgressors destroy themselves.

We see here, that the man in right standing with God walks daily in salvation. Those who desire to please God walk uprightly before him in His blessed Light, which clearly lights his path. The wicked walk in the night, they are children of the night. They are blinded by sin and worldliness and are trapped by their own wickedness.

We see here, that to die in your wickedness leaves no hope at all. My own personal belief is: as long as there is breath in the body, man can repent and be saved. When he dies, not getting baptized and not receive the Holy Ghost , their is no second chance. Hell is awaiting them .

We need to go and save some souls and if you need a motivator to tell you that you need to save those people out there that are lost here’s one

Romans 8. 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

  15. 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

It is not until we are humbled in the sight of God that shame comes to us from allowing PRIDE to rise up within us. It is one of the things that God hates, and we must guard our spirit by discipling ourselves in the WORD and prayer every day to ensure that we keep our heart and attitude right in the sight of the Lord.

    Proverbs 6:16-19King James Version (KJV)
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

  16. 31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

God knows what is in the heart, the will of God is to live a righteous life and to turn away from sin. If we stumble and fall we get right back up don’t give up. God has our back.

  17. True Righteousness

1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

I have loved the book of proverbs since I learned that this book helps you build a successful business. When I read this verse it became clear to me, that our God wants us to follow the law of the land as well as the law of His commandments. (Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God. 2 So the person who resists such authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment 3 (for rulers cause no fear for good conduct but for bad). Do you desire not to fear authority? Do good and you will receive its commendation, 4 for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be in fear, for it does not bear the sword in vain. It is God’s servant to administer retribution on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath of the authorities but also because of your conscience. 6 For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants devoted to governing. 7 Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due. 8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,” (and if there is any other commandment) are summed up in this, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 11 And do this because we know the time, that it is already the hour for us to awake from sleep, for our salvation is now nearer than when we became believers. 12 The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light. 13 Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy. 14 Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.) It seems clear to me that we are NOT to play with our taxes. We are NOT to adjust our balance so it weights more than what it says, treat our customers rightly and correctly, do not steal from them. Do not do any trickery for all is sinful in the eyes of the Lord.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

I know that sometimes we see the wicked getting richer and richer, and getting blessed and we ask ourselves: HOW? WHY? WHY NOT ME LORD? One thing I have always remember is CHECK YOURSELF OUT !!!!!!! We are measure with a different ruler. God will always expect more from HIS people that He will from the wicked. NO THEY ARE FAR FROM BEING BLESSED FOR THEY ARE SENTENCE TO DEATH IN THEIR SINS. We must do our very best to represent our Lord Jesus Christ in EVERYTHING we do. Therefore, we MUST have our finances with out any spots nor blemish, we MUST run our business with HONEST management, we MUST be great STEWARDS of OUR FATHERS BUSINESS for it is ALL ABOUT HIM, FOR HIM, AND BY HIM. Only then we can call ourselves BLESSED AT ALL TIMES. Lord help us to be great stewards so you may receive us with the words of “WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT, WELL DONE” In Jesus Name we pray AMEN.

  18. 14 Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chance

Don’t be in a lost direction because you want to follow your friends. Listen to the elders of the church and the man of God they have more wisdom and hear from God more than your friends do. Go on the path God has planned for you, listen to the men and women of God because You never know who God will use to help you on your path! 🙂

  19. Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Can somebody tell me again why the pictures in my wallet of every president dead?

Cause money is only good on this earth when we die is all gonna disperse.
We came from the ground were just dirt

  20. PRIDE CAUSES DERAILMENT

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

In pondering what causes mankind to fall away from GOD, revelation came to me that pride is the root of sin and PRIDE CAUSES DERAILMENT. Pride is the emotion or feeling that we express when we resist correction, rebel authority, realign boundaries or refuse instruction.

All of the actions of pride cause a derailment from our GOD ordained direction and destiny. The MSG version brings much clarity to this statement:

    MSG
    1 God hates cheating in the marketplace;
he loves it when business is aboveboard.
2 The stuck-up fall flat on their faces,
    but down-to-earth people stand firm.
    3 The integrity of the honest keeps them on track;
the deviousness of crooks brings them to ruin.
4 A thick bankroll is no help when life falls apart,
but a principled life can stand up to the worst.
    5 Moral character makes for smooth traveling;
an evil life is a hard life.
    6 Good character is the best insurance;
crooks get trapped in their sinful lust.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGIve
    iReap

  21. 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Pride will DESTROY you! No matter how you put it pride is still a sin, we are no
better then the next person for we were all sinners once too. No we should not dwell on the past but we also shouldn’t let pride creep in and make us forget where we came from and what God brought us through! Lord help us to remain humble, to not be prideful and boast in ourselves, but to give you all the glory, honor, and praise!!

  22. 31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

The word says shall be recompensed in the earth. Christians sometimes see how others who do wicked things are having all this things and keep increasing in perhaps positions and wealth. However there is a judge. And we are not even bringing up the day of judgement. The word of God here says in this earth… In this earth we shall receiveayment for what we do. Blessings are coming and judgement is too. It’s all in God’s timing, all in due season. Saint of God keep sowing righteousness and good for we shall reap what we sow.

And let us not grow weary wile doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
    Galatians 6:9

  23. Rescued

    Proverbs 11:9 NLT
With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.

    Proverbs 11:9 AMP
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge and discernment the righteous will be rescued.

Proverbs 11:9 deals with more than just the basic whisperings of gossip, of spreading information not meant for the consumption of others; it shows how ungodly words can destroy others. However, God gives us a promise. Knowledge and discernment will rescue the righteous from the false accusations, false judgements, rumors, and other ways in which others might use words against them. The fruit of knowledge and discernment may not always be revealed immediately but God orchestrates the salvation of the righteous in the way that is most blessed. Joseph had to deal with the destructive power of words and did not immediately see his help but in the end, God did more than simply shut the mouth of his accusers. He blessed Joseph far and beyond what seemed to be the hopeful outcome of Joseph’s immediate situation. In the same way, God rescues the righteous and gives them an expectation of hope and blessing beyond the reality of whatever situation they face.

    Daniel 6:22
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

    Proverbs 10:28
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

  24. Proverbs 11:24-25, 28 (AMP)
    24)There is one who (generously) scatters (abroad), and yet increases all the more;
And there is one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty.
    25) The generous man (is a source of blessing and) shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered (reaping the generosity he has sown).
    28) He who leans on and trusts in and is confident in his riches will fall, But the righteous ( who trust in God’s provision) will flourish like a green leaf.

MORE Giving and MORE Blessing Others will result in our lives being blessed and our needs being meet by God.

St. Luke 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured unto you again.”

  25. Proverbs 11:14
Where there is no guidance, a people falls,
but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

When we try to do everything by ourselves and think that we can do it all without the help of anybody, that is when we fail and fall into paths that we are not suppose to be in. This is why we should all surround ourselves with people that are not only wiser than us but that love us enough to tells us the truth and when we are wrong. The reason they are wiser is because they probably already gone through those kinds of different situations and they know what they are talking about.

  26. 29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

There is no reward in hurting those that love you. i grew up in a split family because of pride. The greatest gift you could give your family is humility. Sometimes you have to just shut your mouth and go to bed.

  27. Proverbs 11 :10
    Rejoicing with the Righteous
11:10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish , there is shouting.

28:12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

  28. “They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight”. One that is continually at odds with others, would be wise to look in the mirror and pray. Dear God, reveal to me my faults that I may repent, and help me change anything that is unpleasing to you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. 1 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner
We are going to suffer much more on judgement day. We know truth, we have truth, we know what God wants us to be like in order to be save. God forbid we waste all this time playing games and lose out with God and go to hell. What is it to gain the tmwhole world and lose your soul?

  30. Proverbs 11:14
Where there is no council, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Thank God for the man and woman of our church that are the counsel of the Church, for every desicion they make, we are a strong church and a church of many talents and ministries.
    We have….
    Creative people
    Loyal people
    People who share and vision
    Wise and intelligent people
    People with complementary gifts
    People with influence
    People of Faith
    People of integrity

    We are a bless church!

  31. “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:24-25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s better to be a giver than a constant taker. We should aim to help others in their time of need. By doing this we represent a true heart of a servant

  32. 14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

I have spent my life in apostolic church from Mexico. I had the same pastor for the first 25 years of my life. The first time I stepped into a Pentecostal church (POFW) there was a lot of things that caught my attention. One of the most distinctive was the way that pastor operated. I knew what the one man band was but when I learned how the pastor had a multitude of counselors, I was pleasantly surprised. When I found out that the man of God surrounded himself with a multitude of counselors, it reminded me of this verse. Most of the mistakes I have ever made have been because of the lack of counsel.

God I pray for men of God that surround my pastor. That surround him with counsel.

  33. Proverbs 11:14 (Modern English Version)
    14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall;
but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

We don’t know it all. We can’t. We need experienced godly people around us to help us. God didn’t design this thing for us to do it alone. We have a church, and a church family that God placed in our lives to help us get through the challenges of life. When we refuse to rely on those outlets we can become discouraged and backslide. God grant us the eyes to see those who are falling, and reach then before it’s too late. We all need each other.

  34. v9 An hypocrite with his mouth destoyeth his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

The tongue can be either a blessing or a curse.
May God help us continually to bring about good results through the use of our tongues.
    MORE KINDNESS
    MORE LOVING
    MORE BLESSINGS
    MIRE TEMPERATE
    MORE GENTLENESS

  35. 13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

WE must guard our new believers so that they don’t fall victim to an attack through talebearers.

  36. 14: Without good direction, people lose their way;
the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.

It matters who has an influence on your life! Who ever is influencing you will influence who is following you!

  37. This proverb of being a righteous man verses being wicked brings to mind when God brought the children of Israel to a place of descision:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live; that you may love the Lord your God, and that you may obey His voice, and that you may cleave unto Him: for He is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them” (Deut. 30:17-20

  38. Wise !!!! 28.He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. 29. He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. 30. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Dan. 12 : 3 I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!! LORD YOU REIGN !!!! Blessed Be Your Name !!!!

  39. What basically stands out in this chapter to me is good triumphs evil. All of the
Good deeds, such as giving, encouraging (kind words) etc…all overcome evil things such as gossiping, dishonesty, pride, greed..etc.. on Gods side we win it all, we continue to walk with God and do His works and being like Christ we will win! Things may take time….but it’s all in Gods timing. Just rember we have the Victory with God.

  40. 9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

We can tear down our brothers by speaking evil to them and against them but we can also destroy our neighbors by simply not being a good witness of Jesus Christ. Proclaiming his name and averting from his ways do not mix well in the eyes of those that are watching us. We should be careful to represent Jesus correctly at all times.

  41. Much wisdom with great instructions are given in this chapter. But, remember according to God’s word here wise is the man that wineth souls.

“We need to get busy”…..”Yup…me too!”……

  42. 1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

Peter said it best “..I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” (Acts 10:34-35). God doesn’t discriminate or pick favorites. He favors those we can use, those who are His willing servants, His obedient children. If God doesn’t care about a persons nationality, age, sex, religion, financial status or political influence then we shouldn’t either. He delights in just weights, in fairness and not predjudice. What we do to and for one we should be willing to do for everyone.
