Proverbs 14

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

  1. Verse 16 MSG “The wise watch their steps and avoid evil; fools are headstrong and reckless.” This verse reminded me of our Sunday School lesson from last week, where in Matthew 25:1-12 talks about the five wise virgins and the five foolish. We learned how It is wise to always be prepared (full of the Holy Ghost).

Verse 34 MSG “God-devotion makes a country strong; God-avoidance leaves people weak.” Stay strong in the Lord as part of the army that is rising up for Jesus.

  2. 17. Quick-tempered people make fools of themselves, and evil schemers make many enemies.

    29. Whoever is patient and slow to anger shows great understanding, but whoever has a quick temper magnifies his foolishness. The Voice

Lord, help us to be more like You; not quick-tempered, but slow to anger.

    Psalm 145:8
The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. KJV

  3. In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭26-27‬ KJV)

  4. 14 Every wise women buildeth her house : but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. I pray that my home stays build on the word of God.

  5. iLove to eat More Word

Proverbs 14:15 NLT Only simpletons believe everything they’re told! The prudent carefully consider their steps.

The internet is filled with information. Some of that information is true and most is falsehood. It’s very important not to believe everything you hear. Conspiracy theories are the worse. Many times folks will post something on their facebook about conspiracies of different situations. We should always carefully consider the path we are taking and avoid all falsehood, especially when it has something to do with doctrine. Acts 17:11King James Version (KJV)11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

  6. More Oxen

“Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Ox = Servent/Laborers

Without servants/labors the stable stays clean but you need strong servants/ laborers for a large harvest.

We need more servants to help with the end time harvest.

“He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:37-38‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.””
    ‭‭John‬ ‭4:35-38‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  7. DO MORE AND SAY LESS

23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Visions, Goals, Aspirations, Intentions and Plans are all creative, visionary attributes of a Leader. Leaders must attain these attributes to succeed. However if the vision portion of a dream is the only phase that is ever achieved then we miss the mark and fall short of our destiny.

Promises, commitments and covenants are made repeatedly; however when they are tested by time, chance or circumstance we find the true commitment of the lips.

    TLB
23 Work brings profit; talk brings poverty!

One of the greatest revelations I have been BLESSED to receive is that “In ALL labor there is profit”!

This means that I may not be doing the work or job I really desire right now but I am still growing and profiting from what I am doing. Too often Leaders become frustrated by their lack of promotion and become distracted and even quit. I encourage you to realize the fact that keeping and maintaining a commitment, even when you don’t feel like it or want to, is profiting your very soul.

    DO MORE AND SAY LESS
    SAY LESS AND DO MORE
    SAY MORE BY DOING MORE

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  8. 12-13 There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough;
look again—it leads straight to hell.
Sure, those people appear to be having a good time,
but all that laughter will end in heartbreak. (MSG)

The advisory will always try to paint a beautiful picture of sin, declaring all the fun you will be having. He will focus on the things that you “cannot do”.

With that same negative point of view he tripped up Eve all the way in the beginning. He tricked her into believing that God wanted to keep the fruit from the Knowledge of good and evil tree all for Himself. Yet we must always be prepared, and the only way to fight the advisory is with the Pure Word of God!

  9. Character. Is it in you?

    Proverbs 14:7-10 (KJV Strong’s)
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man,
when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way:
but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools make a mock at sin:
but among the righteous there is favour.
    10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness;
and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

Wise. Foolish. Scorner. Prudent. Stranger. Wicked. Backslider. Simple. Poor. King.

    “Your beliefs become your thoughts,
    Your thoughts become your words,
    Your words become your actions,
    Your actions become your habits,
    Your habits become your values,
    Your values become your destiny.”
    Mahatma Gandhi

We choose who we are. God gives us the resources, and the tools to proper, and become what he wants us to. It’s up to us to do the right thing. However God doesn’t control our character. If we submit ourselves to him he can mold it, and make it like a potter but if we don’t submit ourselves to him we are the molder and maker of our character.

The bible labels people. The wise weren’t born wise, and neither were the fools. The prudent didn’t wake up prudent, and the scorner didn’t scorn with their first words. Each man chose their path. We also must choose ours.

Who do you want to become?

  10. 2 Those who follow the right path fear the Lord; those who take the wrong path despise him. (NLT)

It’s all black and white in the Kingdom of God, no gray in betweens. Chose today whom you will serve; I chose to follow after the Lord!

  11. 30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
I found this verse interesting in how more serious envy is than a sound heart. The bones are one of most crucial parts of the body. Some may not realize, but bones are actually considered organs such as the heart, liver and others. Bones do more than simply keeping us upright; Bones are responsible for blood cell production and mineral storage just to name a couple. Life is in the blood but the blood is created in the bones.

So, how much more devastating is envy than a sound heart does the body good. According to the dictionary; “Envy and jealousy are very close in meaning. Envy denotes a longing to possess something awarded to or achieved by another.” If these two are close in meaning the results of these two emotions have similar effects on the body. First, envy/jealous start some serious emotions; fear and anger. When these emotions take over physical changes to the body are initiated. The fight-or-flight response starts up production of adrenaline which in turns increases the heart rate and blood pressure.

  12. It is all in our actions Sisters

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Again this reminds me the lesson I learned long time ago. We can make our home a haven to our husband and children, or we can make it a hell. It is all the in how we treat them, love them, and correct them is that simple. Once we get married there is a great responsibility we can’t just be running like teenagers, acting stupid, or flirting. Remember that we become adulterous by our thoughts. Give honor and praise to your husband and children become their cheerleader, be positive, there is too much negativity in this world for them to find it at home also. The most important thing PRAY FOR THEM, pray when they leave your home and praise when they return. Create an atmosphere of love, peace, and unity. Lord give us the understanding and clarity to see if we are building up our home or tearing it down with our attitude. Help us to cover our family with your love, peace, joy, and understanding. Show us how to remove th bricks of strife, anger, and foolishness. In Jesus Name we pray AMEN

  13. 4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Blessings through good ol hard work.

Some blessings don’t come but by hard work. Even with our new church building. The way we are paying for it is through hard work. Work is a good four letter word. Work hard and be blessed.

  14. 30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Something that is considered “sound” is steady, secure, uncompromising, sure. All of these synonyms provide understanding that a sound heart is settled on the things of the Lord, and in those ways life can be found.

We must have our feet planted solid on the ROCK Christ Jesus and not be tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine or fad that comes our way.

James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

We can be counted on, we are dependable and it can be said of those that have a sound heart that …

    Isaiah 22:22-24King James Version (KJV)

22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.

24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

  15. 14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

When God slips from first place in our lives, everything else will lose meaning. If we are always filled with our own ways, it might be time to check our relationship with God. For when God is the first priority in our lives, others will take notice and want to know more about the wonderful God we serve! Let’s keep God first in our life!!

  16. 31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

Hallelujah!!!! Glory!!! Every time it is outreach for milk and bread it’s a blessing to be witness and see the peoples faces of how grateful they are when they are given milk and bread. On reality nothing in this world is ours, but Everything we give will be given back plus more. I knew that it was better to give than receive but didn’t do it till I got to POFW. We have given up to our last penny knowing and willing to trust on the all Mighty and of course He has provided. Everything he has given us and blessed us with is something that only He can give. I am blessed because my family and I are healthy, we have jobs, food, water, a roof over us, and more!!! Jesus is so merciful that all I can do is praise Him for all the big and little things that I have. I am blessed and will keep on giving!!! Everything for His kingdom! Thank you Jesus!

  17. Knowledge !! 6. A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. 7. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. 8. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. 9. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour. Hallelujah to God !!!!

  18. 26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Living right shows God how much you respect him. God knows when your genuine. Fear the Lord and give no place for the enemies. Be strong and be confident, have faith in the Lord. He will bless you and your children.

  19. 20The poor are despised even by their neighbors,
while the rich have many “friends”.

A true statement, if you’re have money, you’ll have friends. You see this with ball players all the time. Once the money is gone so are the so called friends. True friends will be friends no matter if your rich or poor.

  20. 4Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty,
but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests.

Life may be easier and less messy without the oxes in our lives. Oxen symbolize servants in the effect of harvest. The long outreaches, phone call lists, crowded sactuary, buses, and classrooms. It might be neat and clean or relaxed and tranquil without the extra work. We will never grow or reap a harves without a servant heart with a burden for souls. Lord give me the heart of an oxen.

  21. Proverbs 14:27 (KJV)
“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”
    Proverbs 14:27 (MSG)
“The Fear-of-God is a spring of living water, so you won’t go off drinking from poisoned wells.”

    St. John 7:38 (KJV)
“He that believe on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Jesus is the Fountain of Living Water. Fear (reverence) and believe on Him.

  22. He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Lord help us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves and to show your mercy and love.

  23. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Be careful who you hang out and associate with, because the bible says to stay away from foolish people. Why? Because you cannot use your wisdom to help convince a foolish man to turn away from his foolish ways. The only thing people like that will do is drag you into their foolish ways with them.

So be careful how close you let people like that get in your life, all it’ll do is drag you down and drain you.

  24. Vs29. People with understanding control there anger a hot temper shows great foolishness. This was a good scripture for me today I was in a situation at work ware I got a little heeded not knowing if my actions were right or not I thought about it during the day. After reading this verse I realize my.temper showed foolishness.

  25. 5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies
We must strive to be faithful witnesses in our life. We must be honest even when it’s difficult because your word is your bond. People will believe you until you give them a reason to so always stay honest!

  26. 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

It’s important to use wisdom and not be simple minded. The Holy Ghost will teach you how to be wise and lead you in the right direction. We go astray because we loose focus on God . It’s time to move forward and enjoy the goodness of Jesus.

  27. 11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

I do not believe the words used in the scripture was by accident. “house” and “tabernacle” the tabernacle is a dwelling place of God and not of wickedness. When God steps into a” house” He overthrows the government and it becomes a Tabernacle or a place of worship.

  28. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”. It is important that a nation, leaders, and people pray (to JESUS) and are prayed for. The house of prayer should be full; 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Dear GOD, forgive me of self and help me to do more, while I have breath; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  29. “A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Ladies we need to stand strong in our homes and make sure the God is not just in our hearts but as well as in our homes and in our families hearts….ladies we are strong and with our prayer builds the family closer to not just God but the family becomes more unified. With our prayers they build up, encourage, brings safety, joy and love and so much more….but we have more than one home, because the church is our home as well and ladies the body is our family as well and we need to stand together and pray for our family and get closer to God! Yes the words of this scripture says “woman”, but men of God we need you to stand strong and do the same and by working together not only will we be unified but God will be doing some miraculous things than ever before!

    STRONG HOMES, BE UNIFIED!!!!!

  30. “A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Speak truth into the lives you meet. By speaking lies you’re not only hurting the other person but you’re condemning yourself. Truth=life; lies=death

  31. My ears are not a dumpster

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

You don’t have to listen to or recurve everything people say to or about you. If what people say about you doesn’t line up with what God says about you then they are liers anyway. When we are baptized in Jesus name and receive his Spirit we are made new. Every old thing that you used to be is now a lie. You don’t have to call people a fool when they say something foolish about you but as this scripture says when they start speaking just get away from them. You can choose who you hang with. I choose Jesus

  32. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

We should think carefully about who we are surrounding ourselves with

  33. Just a little statement…..”You know what to do!”

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

    “Pick your friends wisely”………………………..

  34. Just a little statement…..”You know what to do!”

7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

    “Pick your friends wisely”………………………..

  35. 14:7 stay away from a foolish man because you will not gain any knowledge from him. The Proverbs repeat themselves so that they will stick in our brains. God designed us to learn by repetition which is a principle still used in today’s education system.
