Proverbs 15

1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

  1. Verse 6 AMP “Great and priceless treasure is in the house of the [consistently] righteous one [who seeks godly instruction and grows in wisdom], But trouble is in the income of the wicked one [who rejects the laws of God].” Never stop growing and wanting MORE from the Lord.

  2. The Eyes of the Lord
Proverbs 12:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

2 Chronicles 16: 9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect to toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Proverbs 15:16 Better is little with fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Spiritual riches are better than material riches.

I just want Him!! Thank you Jesus!

  3. 30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart : and a good report maketh the bones fat. 31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul : but he that hearth reproof getteth understanding.33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom and before honor is humility..

  4. Proverbs 15:4 (AMP)
“A soothing tongue (speaking words that build up and encourage) is a tree of life, But a perversive tongue (speaking words that overwhelm and depress) crushes the spirit.”
    Proverbs 18:21 (AMP)
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.”

Today, speak words that build up and encourage someone. Speak words of life to them. You may never know how your Smile and a Kind word may help someone today.

  5. iLove to eat More Word

Proverbs 15:1 NLT A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. Proverbs 15:4 NLT Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

The truth of the matter is, that most arguments that we get into nowadays could probably could have been avoided by some kind words. So, why is it so hard to give a gentle answer…Pride. I think that is why this Proverb ends with this following verse, “33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”

  6. A soft answer turneth away wrath, but greivous words stir up anger.
Be conscious (and cautious) of the words in which you speak. If they are hardened they may breed anger or contempt. They may break a heart, shatter a dream, tear down or break a spirit. It is not always easy to be wise, not just with the words you use, but how they are delivered as well. It is , however, much more rewarding to keep a softened tongue in your mouth.

  7. 13. A warm, smiling face reveals a joy-filled heart, but heartache crushes the spirit and darkens the appearance. The Voice

What will our face reveal to those we meet today? Let’s show them a heart full of joy because we are serving awesome God!

  8. TO THOSE WHO SAY “DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO”

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

The greatest responsibility in growing up is making choices for ourselves and our families. Since we all are privileged the opportunity to experience this first hand. We are novices. Some of us are hard headed, strong willed and deeply determined to make the same mistakes, poor choices and harmful habits as our ancestors.

The wisdom of Solomon is displayed here for us to consider. If we refuse instruction, it establishes the fact that we do not even care for ourselves enough to listen and harken to those that have overcome the temptations we face.

To despise something means to: dislike (something or someone) very much.

    Miserable people refuse instruction.

Get understanding, hear correction and live life to its fullest.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. They who are oppressed and press not who listen to insults without retorting who act lovingly and are happy under trials. Our disposition rather than our circumstances is the key to enjoying life.

  10. 25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

The Lord is concerned for each individual. We are admonished in James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

He who cares for the very sparrow that falls to the grounds, is so much more concerned about those that He shed his blood for. We must practice pure relegation before the Lord and care for and cover in prayer the fatherless and widows.

  11. A Good Report

30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

We need to live with JOY. We need to have a positive way of thinking, only that way can we attract good reports. To live in Faith means to believe that there is no impossible for God, but ignorance thinks that we can seat and do nothing expecting God to do it all. My father taught me that everyday I should take a step closer to my goal and pray to God for the other steps to be cleared. A good report is within reach all we have to do is believe on it. When the bad reports come, all we have to do is rebuke it in Jesus Name and claim the positive outcome. My doctors can say all they want but my God says By His stripes I am healed!!!!!!

  12. v 32

Those who refuse to be corrected when wrong despise themselves…literally to reject as if there was little value. Someone who ignores discipline is not interested in bettering themselves.

  13. 1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

It’s all in the presentation to an answer of a question especially depending on how delicate the matter is and who the person is you are speaking to. When it comes to salvation it is such a sensitive matter because every one has been brought up to believe in something or nothing. Each time Paul would speak to people it was done humbly to compel them. Those who refused to believe would stir up the rest of the crowd of like mindedness and begin riots. You can get more with honey than you would with vinegar. Coming at someone with a peaceable manner with humbleness at heart completely changes the atmosphere, setting aside oneself for God to move.

  14. 16 Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil. (NLT)

As long as we have the Lord, as long as we trust Him and always seek after Him, there is nothing more we could ever need.

  15. soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

  16. 25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

We as Christians know the truth, yet we still sin against God. Why? Because we are not perfect, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for it, we should strive for perfection, we should strive to live a holy and righteous life, and to abide by the truth! Lord order our steps before us that we would live a life that glorifies you!

  17. 24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

God loves everyone unconditionally, making right choices in our lives matter because we don’t want to get off track that may lead to unrighteousness that will turn to sin. God teaches us to live life right and turn from sin, he knows everything. Lord you know my strengths and my weakness, give me the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to do your will.

  18. 4Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit

The words you speak defines who you are. You are the example for your children, family and friends. Your words influence those around you. Think before you speak.

  19. The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Every word we say reflect who we are. The righteous studieth to answer. This means they listen, pay attention, and consider the matter. The Sprit of God enables us to act in a loving longsuffering say and have patience. We are told here that a soft answer turneth away wrath, but without God’s Spirit a man is quick to jump to contentions and fights. Out of the abundance of the heart speaks the mouth. So it really is about what are you feeding your heart. What goes in will come out. Many times the Word of God tells us to be filled with God’s Spirit. Fees your spirit man and you shall be righteous

  20. Comfort

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

    Proverbs 15:15 NIV
All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

When we have the opportunity to comfort someone in need, we must remember that our perspective of life will be different than theirs. We may experience the “continual feast” of a merry heart, but it does no good to badger someone else about “why don’t you see and enjoy the feast also?” Oppression creates heaviness and affects every aspect of life. To come in with strife and arguements only adds to the oppression as it shows a lack of love.

In the Greek, the word referring to the Holy Ghost as our Comfortor describes one who “comes along side us to share our burden.” A burden sharer is not one who stands aloof and criticizes and orders someone around, pointing out what they need to do differently and how they’re doing this or that wrong. A burden sharer comes along in gentleness and simply adds to our strength, feels our pain, sympathizes with our burdens, and partners with us through love without condemnation. John noted the Holy Ghost descending like as a dove at Jesus’ baptism; this manifestation shows the nature of God’s Spirit, where yes it comes with power and mighty flames of demonstration, but also with a holy hush and the gentleness of the One whose nail-scarred hands could carefully examine and mend the deepest and most terrible of wounds.

We don’t have to totally fix a person in need nearly so much as give them even just a small portion of what will help, and do it all by showing them God’s love. “Better is a little… Better is a dinner of herbs where love is…” Comfort acts as a gentleman, in the same way that God doesn’t force His Spirit on anyone or shame them if first they need a touch of His love before they are ready to receive the gift of His Spirit. Even small gestures can warm a heart far greater than great treasures with trouble or a large feast with hatred. The feast we have with our merriment is not a blessing if we try to push it on someone without love. It may appear as a feast to us, but it could be counted as a curse to those hurting.

    Proverbs 25:20 NLT
Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart is like taking someone’s coat in cold weather or pouring vinegar in a wound.

  21. 1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

It can be easy when people bring up topics to us, especially ideals we don’t agree with, for us to feel like we have to defend our ideas and believes, but sometimes when we do this, we can also come off as being argumentive which can turn away people from the faith or from God.

So we should be careful and wise about how we answer people in conservations, or debates or arguments. Sometimes people try to bring up controversial topics to people they know are Christians to see how the react to certain things, so we must be careful to answer with a loving heart and a soft reproach instead of an attitude that will turn people away.

  22. Halleluiah!!! God is good.
I thankyou Jesus for putting people in charge of somethings in my life. I pray NOW I will listen. Thankyou God for pulling me in….just in the nick of time.
I’m waiting for You Jesus. You are always my authority. People may tell me what to do. But if it’s not the pastor, pastors wife or a leader in the church of Jesus Name…I’m having a hard time listening. Cause what man says will never amount to Jesus’ words.
I PRAY HEALING OVER MY HURTS. Thank you Lord.

  23. 16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

When we have God we have everything. We have peace and joy. We may physically lack things according to the worlds standard but we have more than what we need. When we live without the lord then we are in this world of trouble without peace or comfort or anything else we need. We may gain things physically but we really suffer.

  24. Proverbs 15:4 (KJV Strong’s)
4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

    Proverbs 15:4 (NASB Strong’s)
4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life,
But perversion in it crushes the spirit.

Perversion can sometimes be funny but it’s definitely not harmless. The world likes to joke using perversion. However we shouldn’t fall into this trap.

The word breach means to breach, crush, bruise, break, shatter, and fracture. If you play with fire you get burned. If you speak perversion you will crush your own spirit.

  25. The recipe for peace

    Proverbs 15

1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words

    Proverbs 15

1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger

No one wins in a screaming match. Everyone gets dirty when mid starts to be slung every where but…

    Matthew 5:9

9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

We live in rediculous times. If you want peace you have to make it. You can’t be a peacemaker when it is already present. Peacemakers are only relevant in caos. If you make something it takes work and patients. My dad used to tell us to pick our battles. Don’t argue over something that doesn’t really matter but stand your ground when it is important. Let’s not get caught in opinions that never can prove themselves. Real friends can be different, but go the same direction.

  26. 3 the eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
You may think just because you do something and no ones sees that your getting away with what you may be doing. You cant hide from God he see everything.

  27. “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:29‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The farther you’re from God the harder it is to hear His voice. Spend time with God and listen to His gentle voice.

  28. “Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?” Some may claim to know, which they may or may not. Whereas the Creator and Judge (Jesus) knows ALL, which is a fact. Therefore one would be wise to be more concerned with pleasing the Creator and Judge. Dear God, forgive me of my shortcomings, let my heart be right and my thoughts pleasing too you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  29. v2 The tongue of the wide useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

The tongue of the wise is healthy because it uses knowledge correctly.

  30. 25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

  31. 5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Isn’t it funny how we call small things foolish-childish games and other nonsense. Foolish is something so much more. Foolish has to do with the conception of idols because when you say there is no God you put yourself on the throne.

  32. I would like to have all I can eat, when it comes to a merry heart with a continual feast. “All You Can Eat”…………”Bread of Life”……………………………..

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
    __________________________________________________________
Hear reproof, learn and apply the principles to this instruction and getteth understanding. Don’t reject it, accept it! Fear the Lord………..before honour is humility.

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

    “We all have to learn”…………………………………………

  33. 33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. God honors those willing to serve and humbly work for God. A proud man will never be honored by the hand of God. 25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

  34. Soft answer !!!! 1. A SOFT answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Judg. 8 : 1 2. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. 3. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Job 34 : 21 Jer.16 : 17 4. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. YOU ARE MY SHELTER FROM THE STORM !!!! AND I THANK YOU !!!!
