Proverbs 21

1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

  1. So, Jesus take my heart and turn it in any direction you desire but leave it in your hands and with your love. Be my everything………………………………………

God looks into our hearts, and he does what? Do you remember what was told to Sammuel the prophet. When selecting David as King of Israel, he said that he looks at the heart not his looks nor was it his stature. “The Heart”……………..
    ………………………LOVE…………………………………………………………………….

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

It’s not always bad to be in Law Enforcement, when it’s just!

3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

“Be confident in the LORD, and thankful”……………………………………………..

  2. Proverbs 21:30
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

We must have wisdom and never be against the Lord you will not make it to heaven More Jesus. Amen

  3. The caption for this chapter in the CEV says “The Lord Is In Charge”. So many want to be in charge; but, when we learn to trust in the Lord (following His will and not our own) and know that He is on our side…..we are victorious in Jesus name. Verse 2 CEV says “We may think we are doing the right thing, but the Lord always knows what is in our hearts.”

  4. The person who strays from common sense will end up in the company of the dead. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭16‬ NLT)

  5. iLove to eat More Word
Proverbs 21:5 NLT Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

This is so true in the physical realm as well as the spiritual realm as well. We are to plan and to work hard if we want to succeed in anything in life.

Planning is not always fun and is not always easy, but It sure does bring about a piece of mind when its needed. We have to plan and have a plan to get to heaven. I’m not convinced that folks will accidently end up in heaven.

  6. 4. Arrogance and pride—distinguishing marks in the wicked— are just plain sin. MSG

A high look, pride and arrogance have no place in the life of a true Christian. It’s hard to win someone when they can see that you think you are better than they are.

  7. 20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Had this song on my heart for two days now; had to share

High upon a mountain on transfiguration
An angel of the Lord declared that it would be
He said don’t stand here grieving
For the one that you see leaving
In like manner‘s coming back for you and me

I believe He’s coming back like He said
I believe that a trumpets gonna sound so loud
One day it’ll wake the dead
In the twinkling of an eye He’ll split the eastern sky
And I believe He’s coming back like He said

I believe the time is nearing that we’ll soon see His appearing
This could be the hour oh this could be the day
When the Saints from every nation
    Will lose their gravitation
In the middle of the air be called away

  8. 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

We must be wise with out words. We must be careful of what comes out. Life and death are in the power of the tounge. We can build up or tear down with just a few simple words.

Oh be careful little mouth what you say. For the father up above is looking down at us. Oh be careful little mouth what you say.

  9. 4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

We learned last night that we should first SERVE the Lord with a HUMILITY – not a “high look” or a proud heart.

Acts 20:19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

  10. 2 People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. (NLT)

It’s not all about what you say and do, because many are deceiving and like or find the need to put on a show so others think well of them. Rather, it’s the attitude you have as you do things. Are you truly passionate, sincere, and submitted when offering your life to God?

  11. Vs23. Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut. And you will stay out of trouble. The older I get I find this vs holds so true. I am living this at work it is keeping me out of trouble.

  12. FININSH MY COURSE

16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

The words of Solomon ring loud and strong today in affirmation of the words of Paul in Acts chapter 20. Which are both the WORD of GOD as he moved on holy men to write.

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Stay on course with JOY and do not be moved off course by ANYTHING or ANYBODY. The way of understanding the will of the LORD, is the way to keep LIFE and not lose IT.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  13. Proverbs 21:23
“Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.”

James 3:5 says, “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!”

My prayer today is Psalms 141:3, “Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”

  14. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

A prideful heart or a holier than thou attitude, will get you no where. How can we win souls if we are always looking down on everyone else? We all make mistakes just as everyone else does, but we know of the mercy and grace God has given to set us free , and to share this truth we must first have a humble heart! Lord search our hearts that we would not be prideful it or boast in ourselves, but we would have a spirit of humility, and would live our life in your truth as we spread your gospel all across this nation!

  15. 4 Haughty eyes, a proud heart,
and evil actions are all sin. NLT

We have to show godly actions so people can see that were apostolic, if we always have a bad attitude then we’re not advertising God!!

  16. 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Job 6:24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

To know when to stop or pause and listen is difficult but rewarding in the end.

  17. The Lord loves us.
31/The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety comes from the Lord.

I thankyou Lord for victory we have in You. There’s no other name but Jesus that we go by. Bless His Holy Name.

  18. followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

  19. 3 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Everyone has an opinion but that doesnt give you the right too give yours. Watch what you say to others you will save yourself heartache.

  20. The Balance Of Faith

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

We must find the balance between a godless self-sufficiency and inert veiled as faith. Faith without works is dead, but works without faith is likewise unfruitful; but faith moved by works is alive. In all of life, we will find opportunities in which we must partner with God to work together with Him. We’ve heard the phrase, “if we do our part, He will do His.” Our faith combined with our actions opens the door for God to do the miraculous and truly reveal divinity touching earth.

    Matthew 8:5-10, 13
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

  21. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts

It not so much what we do, it’s the motive behind doing it that God looks at. It is also the attitude we do it with. We must be sincere and act with pure motives, making sure it’s not for our benefit!

  22. Proverbs 21:30 (KJV Strong’s)
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding
    nor counsel against the Lord.

    Proverbs 21:30 (AMP)
30 There is no [human] wisdom or understanding or counsel [that can prevail] against the Lord.

No matter what God always has the upper hand. When we are in his side we are in the winning team. It doesn’t matter what life throws at us. We can stand confidently knowing when Jesus has our back it is all we really need.

He said heaven and earth shall pass away but his word will not fail. There isn’t an entity on this planet, or in this universe that can ever oust our savior!

    That’s My King!

  23. 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

The Lord Jesus is always in control. No matter what you may be going through or how prepared one is or is not, God has the last Word.

  24. “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.” There are times when the best thing that can be said, is nothing. One that is stubborn enough to keep speaking, will be full of regret later. Dear God, help me to keep my tongue so that you may be heard; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  25. “No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the LORD.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Many go through this even I did…we all think at some point we can hide things from God our out smart Him….we wouldn’t admit it out loud but in our minds we have all thought this at one point in our walk. But God normally shows us that there is no way to do either. God is all knowing and He created all of us….it’s just like the saying, “I’m a mom, I know everything.” Well God is our father and He knows everything even what we are thinking. So don’t be a fool and think your slick because I promise you God already knows.

  26. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

I thank God for showing me that if it looks right, sounds right, feels right…. seek Godly counsel . Because out of the mouth of two or three the truth shall be found. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.

  27. 21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

Hallelujah! Glory!! I follow righteousness which is my Lord Jesus! He is the life and the breathe that I can’t live without. Without Him I am NOTHING!!! Jesus is the light and the path. He gives righteousness to those who truly want Him!!! Jesus has always been there for me even in the times that I thought there was no hope!!!! Everything that we go through is for a good reason and without! I stand on His promises because He is alive and the only one that can give me life and peace. Hallelujah!!! Jesus!!!

  28. v4 Heb “the tillage [נִר, nir] of the wicked is sin” (so NAB). The subject picks up the subjects of the first half of the verse, indicating they are equal—the tillage consists of the arrogance and pride. The word “tillage” is figurative, of course, signifying that the agricultural product (the point of the comparison) of the wicked is sin. The relationship between the ideas is then problematic. Are pride and arrogance what the wicked produce? Some (ASV, NASB, NIV, NRSV) have followed the LXX and Tg. Prov 21:4 to read “lamp” instead (נֵר, ner), but that does not solve the difficulty of the relationship between the expressions. It does, however, say that the life ( = lamp), which is arrogance and pride, is sin.

  29. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

It is easy to look at ourself and say, well we are good a person, we are better than so and so because we trying to do this or that. Or you look at someone else and say “I would never do that.” But everyone falls short of the glory of God and everyone has sin they have to deal with and confess to the Lord.

Jesus in the Gospels rebuked the Pharisees because they of their lifestyle of trying to condemn other people while lifting themselves up. In the words of Jesus, you try to point out the speck in someone’s else eye while you have a log in your own.

Along with being quick to defend ourselves and our innocence, the same spirit also makes us quick to judge other people. But the Lord knows the very depths of every man’s hearts, even the places that you might not even realize is within yourself.

Don’t put yourself down, for you are a Child of God. But remember it’s by Jesus that we have confidence in ourselves and we have authority over devils. If we start to think it’s because of our own ability that we are good, than we lose authority in the spirit realm and God will find a way to humble us. So keep yourself humble so God doesn’t have to.

  30. Proverbs 21:26 NLT
Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!

Godly people love to give because they understand that the Blessing is in giving and that God is in control of their every need. Those that are greedy are never satisfied and always want more to satisfy their own needs.

  31. v23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Unwise words could lead to the judgment of God and the hell not only for the one offended, but also for the one guilty of using idle words.
