Genesis 7

1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

  1. Verse 5 MSG “Noah did everything God commanded him.” Same verse NLT “So Noah did everything as the Lord commanded him.” Noah did everything (not partial) as the Lord commanded (not as Noah saw fit). So much and so many were saved through the sheer obedience from one man. Can you imagine the impact we can make as a body?

  2. 11. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

    19. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

    20. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

For anyone worried about climate change, rising oceans, etc…this is just a friendly reminder that God created this great ball we are riding around on and He always has been and always will be in control of it.
Global warming? Please! If He can go straight from never rained before to cover the highest mountain, He can certainly crank the A/C up and down if He so desired!

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

This whole chapter emphasizes the fact that the whole earth and every living thing was destroyed by water. Some try to make the statement that only Noah’s region was destroyed, but in the context of these scriptures the water covered the mountains of the whole earth.

That means we are all related to Noah and his sons. There is only one race on the earth, that is the human race and it was Gods mercy and grace and Noah’s faithfulness that kept us here.

  4. FOLLOW THE LEADER

    13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

Noah was the first responder to the voice of GOD. Noah obeyed the voice of GOD, built the ark and then he entered the ark to be saved. Scripture indicates that Noah entered the ark first, then his family and finally the animals.

Noahs family followed him and the animals followed them. My belief has been that the animals were drawn to Noah by GOD their creator. If GOD will draw an animal, surely GOD will draw all of mankind. I am prayerful today that our LORD JESUS will draw all men to him and that we the church will be prepared to serve them the gospel of salvation.

  5. First thing first in life. Make sure you get your self on the ark(heaven) dont catch yourself falling drowning in this world. Cause there will be a day the Gid will destroy all evil. Save your self get to the ark!!!

  6. MORE VICTORY

18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

The waters prevailed. Water in the scripture is a type or example of the Spirit of GOD. I am inspired and excited about the fact that when the Spirit moves, IT wins. The waters prevailed to lift the ark or vessel above the judgement.

The SPIRIT of GOD will elevate us above trouble and the judgement of this world.

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

The waters prevailed and covered EVERYTHING. The SPIRIT of GOD, through the BLOOD of JESUS will cover EVERYTHING we have ever done.

24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

The SPIRIT of GOD prevails as long as he desires.

    VICTORY is MINE!
    Water WINS!
    Spirit of GOD WINS!

  7. Genesis 7:23 (KJV Strong’s)
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

The word remained means left behind, reserve, remnant, and survive. Noah’s obedience and faith in God preserved his household and saved the human race.

God specializes in using arks to save people. Noah’s ark, Moses’ Ark, and the ark of the covenant protected and brought salvation to people.

Today the ark is the church. Our obedience and consistency in following the word of God and drawing people to the church will save us. God isn’t willing for any to perish but that all would find repentance.

  8. Saved by Obedience

5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

Is that simple, they were saved because of obedience. Noah obeyed and built the ark, his son and their wives obeyed Noah and went into the ark. Noah’s wife submitt d and went into the ark. They submitted to the head, Noah to God, Noah’s wife to Noah, and his children to the father, with their wives. What better example could we follow to see that submission will save us. There is great blessings in obedience and submission. As long as it is based in God’s word and ONLY TO GOD’S WORD!!!!!

  9. 11When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky.

The waters erupted from within the earth. Additional proof that a great flood occurred. Water is still underground, but yet some don’t believe in the flood. God controls the on & off switches off rain. And God also promised to never flood the earth again.

  10. 18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

Get in the boat of safety. Just as pastor preached this morning about Paul and the ship wreck. We must stay on the ship where it is safe. Stay in church.

  11. Gen. 8:23 says, “… and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.”
Acts 27:31 says, ” … Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.”

Get on the boat, Stay on the boat, and you’ll be safe!
So Thankful for the Word of God today.

  12. When Noah had entered the boat with his.wife .and his.sons and animals .as16 tells us that the Lord closed the door behind them. This very much makes me.think.how.pastor always is preaching and teaching and reaching out on what you need to do to go to heaven. If we as pastors flock.done.lineup..with what.our pastor is telling us a.go.or own way time will run out and the.door will.be shut behind us just like.it.was.in.as16.

  13. 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

The only way to make it to heaven is to listen to the voice of God and to stay on the boat (church) We cannot expect to live a life fulfilled in Gods eyes if we don’t stay with His Holy Temple!!

    More Church, More Life!

  14. Sprinkling

    Leviticus 5:6-10
6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lord; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it asunder:

9 And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering.

10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

There is a conflict of doctrine in the world where some say baptism is to follow as in the Leviticus 5 account of the priest “sprinkling” the blood of a sacrifice for the atonement of sin, that likewise baptism should be carried out as a sprinkling of water. However, beyond the fact that the Greek word used in the New Testament for baptism literally means “immersion, submersion,” these are three brief scriptural arguments for baptizing through full immersion in water as opposed to sprinkling:

    >> In Genesis, the floods completely covered the earth, even the mountains, and all flesh died (buried with Christ after our death to flesh, repentance) (Genesis 7:19-21)

    >> The flood in Noah’s day is elsewhere described as being a type and shadow of baptism unto salvation (1 Peter 3:19-21)

    >> The salvation experienced by Noah during the flood is said to be one in which he became an heir of the righteousness which is by faith, which compares to the righteousness described as being a part of salvation (Hebrews 11:6-7; Romans 3:25; Philippians 3:8-10)

While the sprinkling of the Old Testament described a part of the process of a sacrifice being applied for the atonement of sins, it does not contextually give a valid mode of baptism for our New Testament obedience to the gospel message to repent, be baptized in Jesus’ name for the remission of sins, and receive the Holy Ghost as means of the new birth experience unto salvation (John 3:5; Acts 2:38.)

    1 Peter 3:19-21
    19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

    Hebrews 11:6-7
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

    Philippians 3:8-10
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

    10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

  15. 5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.
Noahs obedience saved his life but not only his life but the lives of his family. Our obedience saves not only us but it could also save our household. There are blessings and promises that come with obedience.

  16. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died

God gives us the breath of life and he dan take it away. He is in control of everything.

  17. “And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.” The word of God (Jesus) states only those that were in the ark lived. The word of God (Jesus) also states those that will enter in; one day, very soon. All the more why one would be wise to see what sayeth the word of God, as ones eternity is at stake. Dear God, let me be found full of your Spirit and in your church; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  18. This chapter gives a great answer to the argument of predestination. The church or the ark are predestined to the next life but you have to choose whether or not you are going to be on the boat. If you stay of the boat or in the church you are destined to make it.

  19. It’s good to have God on your side! It’s not like God didn’t give them a chance, they had been warned a many times by prophets, and Godly men on several occasions. Just like today, many have been warned of the Lord’s return, but they continued to carry on in their lives without him. They even been witnessed to by many believers in Christ Jesus. Many have rejected him, and many were believers before and knew the truth, but choose to walk away. Anther day is coming, but it won’t be with flooding waters, but much worse.

The face of this earth will once again be altered but by fire, and there will be a new earth with King Jesus Christ on the throne of David, and there will be no more devil for a thousand years. We must persevere until the end………………

    “Standfast”……………………………..

  20. 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

When God sends his judgment down, he doesn’t mess around. This is why it’s good to have a respectful fear of God. We all need to have that in our lives otherwise we less likely to listen when god speaks to us.

  21. Long years of life were common in the antediluvian period. (Period of time before the great flood). This is the case in other cosmological myths as well. In one Babylonian tell, it is said a great king lived over 10,000 years. With such tales in different cultures the validity of such claims seem to be more convincing to anthropologists. When similarities of historical records are seen a crossed different cultures, historians take notice.

  22. “Noah did everything GOD commanded him.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭7:5‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Your life just may be spared if you listen to the voice of God.

Life without God is no life at all. Trust in His voice

  23. “All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.”(Genesis‬ ‭7:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

I thank God giving me life for, i am able to breathe with the spirit of life in me everyday that I wake up and thanking him by letting me have another day to be alive.

  24. “Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark with your whole family. I know that you are a godly man among the people of today.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭7:1‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Noah’s godliness and obedience saved the life of his family. The action of one man (Noah) changed his family. The action of one couple (Adam and Eve) changed all of humanity. In the action of our Savior Jesus Christ changed the method of our salvation. This scripture emphasizes how one person can change so much for those around them.

  25. 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

…and the Lord shut him in.

There will come a time when the doors of mercy will close.

Luke 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

  26. Peter shows us the link in the waters of the flood and water of baptism. The flood water is the type and baptism is the antitype. “Eight souls were saved through water, the like figure whereunto even baptism now saves us.” (1 Pe 3:20) The truth stated is that like the flood waters saved Noah and his family baptism saves us today.

However, the same water that destroyed the pre-flood world saved the family of Noah. Peter did not mean they were saved by water, nor in water. They were saved through water. Water had an important part in their salvation. Had the waters of the flood not caused the ark to float, it would have remained on the ground and would have been buried like a sunken ship. Peter did not say they were saved through water alone. (Heb 11:7) but by faith, their godly fear, the building of the ark, and their willing entrance into the ark had as much to do with saving them as the water. In a real sense the earth itself had a baptism. It was completely immersed in water that rose 20 feet above the mountains. This allowed Noah and his family to enter a new world and begin a new life. These waters separated those who were saved from those who were drowned in the waters. When it rose out of the covering of water, it had a kind of a new birth.

  27. And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded of him.

God blesses obedience. God chose to bless Noah and his family because he was a faithful servant. There was a great command on Noah. It was incredibly difficult to carry out, but God was with him. We need to remember that. When God calls us to carry out tasks that make no sense, or seem impossible he knows we cannot do it alone. He calls us to these things so that we leean on him completely. When we persevere that is when God brings his promise.

  28. v5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded.

Although the whole world may reject the modern ark of safety
Which was the sacrifice of Calvary and the church that it established
but the family of JESUS after whom we are all named will find s place of safety.

By obeying the voice of GOD not only do we save ourselves but our love ones too.
The doors of salvation still remain open there is plenty of room

HE waited with patience, or ” longsuffering ” 1 Peter 3:20

Hold on to the Church there is safety there.
(As Pastor taught on Sunday morning)
Whatever we do for HIS KINGDOM keep on because as we see the ark exemplifies GOD’S use of mankind’s efffords and obedience to ” work out their own salvation ” in accordance with HIS direction. Philippians 2:12-13

MORE REACHING FOR THE LOST SOULS

  29. “And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The faithfulness of God is relentless. He always does what he says he will do. He is wonderful, mighty God, prince of peace, just judge, and a promise keeper.

  30. Noah 1. AND the LORD said unto No’-ah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Gen. 7 : 8 3. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 5. And No’-ah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.
