Genesis 8

1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,

16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him:

19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

  1. iLove to eat more Word

    4And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

    The Lord enjoys it when we give him praise in the good times and in the bad times as well. Noah and his family had been through a lot. But regardless of everything he went through, he stopped and gave God praise and sacrifice. God expects the same from us.

  2. “Then Noah built an altar to honor the Lord. He took some of all of the “clean” animals and birds. He sacrificed burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭8:20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

    Noah worship and gave thanks to the Lord. It was inconvenient worship. And it was purposeful worship.

  3. 1. And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

    2. The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

    When you are in a storm and flood waters are all around you, just remember that God hasn’t forgotten you; He knows right where you are and He still controls the wind and rain.

  4. Safety in the boat

    9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

    Just like Pastor preached to us yesterday to stay in the boat, the Dove returned. Sometimes people believe there is a better life away from God. Some believe there are too many rules and no freedom to choose what they want to do while being submitted to God. It is a myth. There are rules and consequences no matter who you serve.

  5. And the LORD was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things. (‭Genesis‬ ‭8‬:‭21‬ NLT)

    Wow! What does your sacrifice tell The Lord? God is reminded of his greatest creation, mankind! His people, his children, you and I.
    There is no limits when we bring the right sacrifice unto The Lord. Stop hindering and limiting what GOD desires to do in your life.

  6. 15 Then God said to Noah,
    18 “So Noah…” (NLT)

    Noah didn’t hesitate when God spoke to him, he didn’t say, “But God…” No. He simply and immediately obeyed the voice of God and followed it with a sacrificial praise.

    How many times has God done something for us, how many times has He brought us through and we just nonchalantly say, “oh thanks God,” and move on with our lives. Like Noah we should offer a sacrifice of praise for the greatness He has done, because we could have jumped ship but God said no and kept us going through to the end…. Thank you Jesus for all the times you brought me through!!

  7. MORE WORSHIP

    20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

    Noah demonstrates a proper attitude and response of a believer in GOD. GOD is worthy of our praise and he deserves our worship.

    Following the darkest trial of his life, being firsthand witness of the judgement of GOD. Noah had a decision to make in regards to his response to the salvation of GOD and Noah chose to FIRST build an altar and WORSHIP GOD through sacrifice. We should firstly, readily and quickly WORSHIP GOD following every trial, every time we witness judgment and or grace we should be ready to WORSHIP GOD MORE.

    Every time we are BLESSED with another day to live and experience GOD we should WORSHIP GOD MORE.

  8. 15 Then God said to Noah…
    18 So Noah…
    20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord…

    Noah had a true spirit of simple obedience. He believed.
    Once everything was completed the FIRST thing he did was make an alter and praise God!

  9. Genesis 8:21 and the lord smelled a sweet savour ; and the lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more thing living , as I have done.

  10. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
    Noahs sacrifice was So meaningful to God that he made this promise. Thank God he understands that we were all born in sin and shaped in iniquity. He understands our fault but looks beyond them to our needs. Now is is our job to extend that mercy to everyone we know.

  11. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
    Genesis 8:21 NIV

    When we give our best sacrifice and worship to God and it pleases Him, we can touch God’s heart to the point that He will make a promise to us and have mercy.

  12. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

    It’s crazy how mankind has failed God, but again he cares so much for us, and he cares enough that he will keep his promise and not destroy man kind.

  13. Genesis 8:1 (KJV Strong’s)
    1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

    If Noah was saved it would have been God protecting him from physical damage as he floated, or swam in the flood waters. If the animals were saved they would have been made to stand upon the water or temporarily breathe under the water. However the story of Noah’s ark really isn’t about God saving Noah, his family, and the animals.

    The story is about God saving the Ark. He protected it from damaging winds, and powerful waves. He steered the boat away from Rocky Mountains that could pierce the under belly. The saving work of God was on the ship and not the people.

    The people and the animals just happened to be in the boat.

    Today we face the same scenario. God isn’t coming to save individuals and bring them to heaven. Jesus is coming for his church, the bride of Christ. The bride is predestined to go to heaven. The individuals are not. Only the individuals in the Church will make it and be saved.

    Ephesians 1:10-11 (KJV Strong’s)
    10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

  14. 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

    2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

    Noah and his family was in the ark for over 8 months while the flood waters raged. The verse says “God remembered Noah” God did not forget about him, didn’t leave him there for die. He remembered him and caused the waters to assuage and the ark to rest upon a mountain.

    When we are going through a storm in our lives, our Euroclydon, God hasn’t forgotten about us and when the storm ceases, we will be resting upon a mountain.

  15. 13Noah was now 601 years old. On the first day of the new year, ten and a half months after the flood began,c the floodwaters had almost dried up from the earth. Noah lifted back the covering of the boat and saw that the surface of the ground was drying. 14Two more months went by,d and at last the earth was dry!

    Spent a whole year on a boat! I never realized how long they stayed on. How many of us could sustain such a long period. They could have jumped ship early as parts of the earth became visible, but they waited until it was dry. They obeyed God til the end. We too should be patience and wait on God’s timing, until then let’s continue to PUSH always!
    Pray
    Until
    Something
    Happens

  16. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

    Just like Noah waited and waited for the water to go down that is how we have to be spiritually also. No matter what storm you might be going thru just like Pastor said you can’t leave the church. Noah is a great example of what people do when they don’t believe. No one believed Noah because it just seemed like it would never rain, but God said otherwise and Noah obeyed Jesus in building the ark. Doubt, Fear, Confusion are all spirits of the enemy. The devil makes us doubt and have unbelief for the things of
    God, but if you would just stop for a second and look at this world. It is just perfect, from the animals to the trees, grass, clouds, universe, stars. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!!! Jesus made everything for a reason!!! WE were made to worship Him!!! Wait for Gods promise!! Focus on the FINISH LINE WHICH IS ETERNITY WITH HIM!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!

  17. The plant life.

    Plants and tress should have been destroyed in this. Technically, so should life in the water. All freshwater fish would have died from the salt water or the salt water fish would have died from the dilution of the salt water or both. Vegetation would not have survived without sunlight for 6 months while underwater. For a world wide flood to be true, God would have supernaturally sustained marine and botanic life. This perhaps is a highly overlooked miracle.

  18. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

    Thank God that’s Jesus came and made redemption possible for us all!

  19. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

    Planning for the offering. Wow. The alter. I am reminded of the the song. That’s what this alter is for. It for us to bring our sacrifice to the Lord. We must lay down ourselves to the lord.

  20. Genesis 8:13 By the first day of the first month o Noah,s six hundred and first year, the water has dried up from the earth. Noah ten removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. But the twentyseventh day of the second month te earth was completely dry. Then God said to Noah, Come out of the ark you and your wife and your sons an their wives.Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you the birds the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.

  21. Gen. 8:13-16,18 (AMP)
    13) Now in the six hundred and first year (of Noah’s life), on the first day of the first month, the waters were drying up from the earth. Then Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and the surface of the ground was drying.
    14) On the twenty-seventh day of the second month the land was (entirely) dry.
    15) And God spoke to Noah saying,
    16) Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives with you.
    18) So Noah went out, and his wife and his sons and their wives with him ( after being in the ark one year and ten days).

    The obedience and patience of Noah.
    Noah could have come out of the ark when he removed the covering, but he might of gotten himself into a “muddy” mess. Instead, he was obedient and waited until the Lord told him to “Go” out of the ark.
    We too can keep ourselves out of “muddy” messes, if we will be obedient, wait patiently, and listen for the voice of God to speak to us.

  22. The altar of Worship!

    20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

    How many times has God brought us out of a situation and we never stopped with our “busy” lives and thanked him? Just like when God helped the ten lepers and only one came back to thank and worship him. We mustn’t get so busy with our lives that we never stop to worship the one he bought us out of the situation we were in and got us to where we are now! It doesn’t matter where we are, we can always stop and create an altar of worship!

  23. vsss. 16-17 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sond, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
    Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeleth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitul, and multiply upon the earth.

    Praise GOD !!!! IT IS HE THAT GIVES THE ORDERS !!!
    GOD directed Noah, his family, and all the animals to leave the ark and begin the process of replenishing the earth.
    A brand new fresh start , but first we must surrender to what GOD desires for us
    And HE DESIRES GOOD THINGS FOR US.
    Surrending to what HE has in store for us by obeying and believing HIS WORD.

    GOD WILL PROVIDE for us joy , comfort, peace, salvation, forgiveness, healing,prosperity whatever we need we can have.

    Awesome move of GOD last night’s service !!!! Still praising and thanking GOD for ALL HE DID and IS DOING IN OUR LIVES.
    GOD SPOKE ONCE AGAIN AND ,” HE SAID,”
    ” IT IS OVER, IT IS OVER”!!!!!!! …. IM HEALED
    GOD STILL GIVES THE ORDERS, INSTRUCTIONS, just as HE
    HE INSTRUCTED NOAh and his family.

    This morning I woke up trying to feel pain in my body ,
    but THANK YOU JESUS I had no pain!!!!!
    Then I spoke to self and reminded self
    ” ITS OVER !!!! ITS OVER “”!!! ….. GOD SAID.

  24. Gen.8:20-22 Noah builded an altar, illustrating his walk with God. The Lord regarded this sacrifice as a “sweet savor”, or more literally, “a smell of satisfaction ( Leviticus 1-9, 13, 17; 2:2, 9, 3:5 16, all for the voluntary offerings of consecration).

    Ephesians 5:1,2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and have given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

  25. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from youth; neither will I again smite any more every living thing, as I have done.

    Because of Noah’s burnt offering, God saw hope in man. Noah may have sacrificed a meal. The animals that he sacrificed were the “clean beasts.” He could have chosen the unclean ones. His offering was a true sacrifice.

  26. Genesis 8:21

    An aroma pleasing to God is associated with burnt offering, and indicates God’s acceptance of the atoning sacrifice.
    Although God recognized that the judgment of the flood had not changed individuals hearts, He promised to exercise mercy.

  27. “Noah built an altar to GOD. He selected clean animals and birds from every species and offered them as burnt offerings on the altar. GOD smelled the sweet fragrance and thought to himself, “I’ll never again curse the ground because of people. I know they have this bent toward evil from an early age, but I’ll never again kill off everything living as I’ve just done.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭8:20-21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    When we praise and worship God a sweet aroma resides in the air reminding the Lord of all His promises. We should praise Him in the good times and in the bad, this way it reminds not only God but also ourselves.

    God has given me a promise and I will praise Him until I see it come to pass and then thank Him for His continual grace and mercy

  28. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar

    Thank you Jesus for your mercy, we would all be in some trouble without it.

  29. “And God spake unto Noah, saying”. Noah made inquiry by sending out a dove, however he did not go out of the ark; until God (Jesus) said so. Regardless of how a situation may appear or what may come, one that goes out without God saying so; will go alone. Dear God, let me know and hear your voice, and be wise enough to stay in the ark; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  30. 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

    One might be looking for the blessing or the way out of a storm, and it may just be that the light at the end of the tunnel is there. We may see what is the promise, or what you have been searching for a sign for is there….but the wonderful thing to take note of is Noah’s submission to God. The dove did not return, the window was open and he could see dry land, but he did not rush out to get out. Noah did not move until God spoke to him. “Go forth of the ark…” Let every move you make be directed by God.

  31. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

    21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

    God cursed the ground in Genesis chapter 3 because of Adam hearkening to his wife. Five chapters later God no longer is going to curse the ground for mans sake. Noah offered sacrifice and God had just washed away all sin from the earth. Creating a new slate. The world was baptized! And after baptism the curse was removed. Even today God washes our sins away and breaks curses on our lives.

  32. 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
    2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
    3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
    No matter what storm we go through, Jesus will remember us. He will take care of us through everything!

  33. 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

    In many scriptures, the dove can be a representation of the Holy Ghost, and I believe this scripture provides a good metaphor for it. Noah didn’t know whether or not there was land and whether the water had receded enough so he could put the ark on some land. So he sent the dove… aka asked the holy spirit, to look for land and that dove gave him an answer at just the right time.

    In our lives, we need to ask God on where we should park our boat in life. Sometimes we need to wait for an answer, but as long as you’re there patiently waiting, listening to the whisper of the Holy Ghost, he will give us the answer just when we need to hear it.

  34. “Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭8:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Noah was a man of God that followed and obeyed. He went through the storm, the rain and gave praise to the One True Mighty God! Noah’s storm was that he was building the ark and during that time he warned people and they ignored him and most likely made fun of him and hurt him in many ways…..then the rain came and after all was done Noah gave thanks to God.

    When we go through the storm weather it be sickness, heartache, backsliding….etc…..we should give thanks before…during….and afterwards….including giving thanks for others as well.

  35. Plucked

    10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

    11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

    A miracle not often mentioned in the process of Noah and his family and the animals be preserved on the ark is the recovery of the earth. After only a very, very short time, not only had the ground dried and the dead, rotten plant life that had been destroyed in the flood was cleared and possibly reabsorbed into the ground… but seemingly, seeds that had somehow survived the extreme pressure of deep water and rot of the relentless moisture, managed to fall in the right places to grow and had quickly flourished and become mature to the point that recognizable leaves were grown and the ecosystem had recovered to support the survival and revival of Noah’s family and all the many animals from the ark. This process is not quick according to natural time. This would have taken many years, centuries even, under perfect conditions with unattainable exactness of success to regrow the diverse habits and have them become stable enough to support the ark animal population again.

    But God is not tied to the timeline we experience. God’s time supersedes ours and He can do in an instant what would naturally take many lifetimes. No matter what storm we experience, what tragedy, what utter destruction of everything around us, He can provide the miracle of the exact conditions we need to grow and thrive again once the trial is over. He can pluck us out of the fires, and He can pluck off the very signal we need to reveal His miracle to us and awaken us to His provision.

    2 Kings 6:16-17
    16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

    17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

  36. In reading this chapter, we see how Noah had to wait and wait and wait. Sometimes or should I say most of the time, people do not like to wait in this quick, quick 30 second microwave world that we live in. We must learn to wait upon the Lord, for all things are in His time….not ours!

  37. Genesis 8:1 and God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged.

    You can be tossed to and fro in the struggles of this life, just trying to stay afloat, trying not to drown, hanging on to your promise. God will remember you, he will not leave you, nor forsake you. As the rains continued to come down I’m sure Noah and his family were getting weary, but God remembered them. He sent a wind and the waters were stilled, calmed. Just hang on to your promise. God will bring relief to your situation.

  38. 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

    We can see the plan of salvation being revealed to us through Noah in a shadow of things to come: repentance (Gen 6:6) baptism (Gen 7:6) and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost (Gen 7:1)then the “wind to pass over the earth” would be pneuma like the breath or Spirit of God. Which is spoken of later in Joel “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.” (Joel 2:28) fulfilled later in Acts 2:2 “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.”

  39. 1. And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

    I just noticed this word in the verse that just stood out. Remembered: something that I struggle with the most. I forget things even when I hint myself. Yes it’s bad.

    In the previous chapter God had just poured his wrath upon every living thing. It had rained for 150 days, how I can imagine a ant feels when you stick a hose in the ant pile and open it full blast.

    But then verse one, says that he remembered, I can’t begin to imagine how bad it was on earth to distract God so much that he had to remember that there was a righteous man and his family floating only hearing the raging waters tumble them around.

    We live in a world that I can only imagine would be destroyed now in the same manner if it had not been for Christ.

    Thank God he remembered a young man that was depressed and lonely in middle of the Amazon jungle crying in the dark desprite to feel hope and joy. It was on my knees that I felt that God had remember me.

  40. 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

    God remembers us even in our darkest trials. How easily Noah could have felt forgotten on that boat for a about a year! Thank God we are not forgotten!

  41. Ark 4. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ar’-a-rat. 5. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. 6. And it came to Pass at the end of forty days, that No’-ah opened the window of the ark which he had made: Gen. 6 : 16

  42. God promised not to curse the ground again…there all be a harvest.

    21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
