Exodus 10

1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:

2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:

6 And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.

7 And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

8 And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the Lord your God: but who are they that shall go?

9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the Lord.

10 And he said unto them, Let the Lord be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.

11 Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

12 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.

13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the Lord your God, and against you.

17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the Lord your God, that he may take away from me this death only.

18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the Lord.

19 And the Lord turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

20 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:

23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.

25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.

26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the Lord our God; and we know not with what we must serve the Lord, until we come thither.

27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

  1. Another level of progression of punishment toward Egypt/Pharaoh due his hard heart and rebellion. His refusal is just like the people of this Earth today, refusing to bow there knee’s to God, and excepting Jesus Christ. “They still today rebel”……

When you see all these signs, but yet not submit or repent! Even darkness you can feel, and still rebel against the Lord.

    “Let MY people Go”……..”Ownership”………………………………………….

  2. In reading this chapter we see how Pharaoh kept trying to agree but on his own terms. He would let them (Israelites) go but only this or that could they take. So many try to do this with God; but, you cannot bargain your way in. We must be obedient and follow ALL of His commandments; not only the ones we want.

Also be careful what you wish or ask for as Pharaoh is about to find out in verses 28-29 MSG “Pharaoh said to Moses: “Get out of my sight! And watch your step. I don’t want to ever see you again. If I lay eyes on you again, you’re dead.” Moses said, “Have it your way. You won’t see my face again.”

  3. 11. No! Go, you men only, and serve the LORD, for that is what you want.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.

The enemy wants our children! We must protect them at all times and always carry them with us to worship…

    ‘No child left behind!’

  4. iLove to eat More Word

22So Moses lifted his hand to the sky, and a deep darkness covered the entire land of Egypt for three days. 23During all that time the people could not see each other, and no one moved. But there was light as usual where the people of Israel lived.

Rebellion always brings great darkness and inability to move forward. God’s people always pay their light bill and have light.

  5. 27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

The Lord will give us opportunities to do his will, but he will not continue to deal with us if we do not listen and move toward him.

  6. In the pass couple of days we have read and heard what happens to those who hear the promises and prophecies of God and don’t believe. Having faith and exercising that faith is very crucial. And is a heaven or hell issue.

“”But others will have their place in the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. Those who are afraid and those who do not believe will be there. Murderers and those who pollute themselves will join them. Those who commit sexual sins and those who practice witchcraft will go there. Those who worship statues of gods and all who tell lies will be there too. It is the second death.””
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

In the end we want to hear “well done good and FAITHFUL servant”

Lord, my prayer is that you would heal her unbelief. I pray that our Faith would be activated and active demonstrating your power of the Almighty hand.

  7. 4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

Because in the world we work hard to have THINGS, we build kingdoms only to find out that without GOD everything crumbles and the world tramples it to waste.
Then with GOD, we find that we were in IDOLATRY and that the only kingdom that we should strive and serve is the KINGDOM OF GOD!!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS USED AS A DISTRACTION !!! When we have passed on, we will live eternally in the KINGDOM OF GOD and everything else stays here, so why use up soooo much energy and time (that we don’t have) to build something that will not be useful to the kingdom of GOD?

  8. Pharaoh is stuck in a vicious, rather annoying, cycle where he’s like the boy who cried wolf; “forgive me please, sike just kidding you can’t leave.” There are two things I get from this: one is to not be like Pharaoh, for obvious reasons. The sad thing is though many times we find ourselves slumping into the same cycle because we refuse to surrender our sin. We cry, “Lord forgive me, I’m serious this time I won’t do it again,” but then the very next minute we’re off doing whatever it is again. Clearly a big no no. The other thing I got from that is, like Moses we must remember that not everything happens the way we think it will. I’m sure Moses was getting a little ancy too with every time Pharaoh siked him out. We must remember to be patient in such situations, God has a plan and a purpose, and it all happens on His own time.

  9. Pharaoh kept to his disastrous course even after his land was ruined by the devastating plagues. We can’t expect a knowledge of consequences to lead ever individual to reform. Animals people do foolish things

  10. Little by Little

11 Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.

God requires all of us. Not just the parts of our lives that is easy to give away. Those parts of our lives that are the most sacred and protected are what God wants the most. For parents, likely it is our children. Turning your children over to the Lord to use is very hard. As a parent we are built to protect our children from poor decisions and potential hazards. We might see our children making these poor decisions and we may want to prevent them from learning these hard lessons. However, our children must learn these hard lessons for themselves. If we have done our part as parents and trained them in the ways of the Lord we can trust in His promise they will not depart from it.

    Matthew 22:37 – 40
Jesus said to him, “‘you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

  11. 27 But God kept Pharaoh stubborn as ever. He wouldn’t agree to release them.

28 Pharaoh said to Moses: “Get out of my sight! And watch your step. I don’t want to ever see you again. If I lay eyes on you again, you’re dead.”

29 Moses said, “Have it your way. You won’t see my face again.”

  12. 23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

    Let Your Light Shine

All the children of Israel had light shining in their dwellings… maybe because they served The Lord. We too serve Jesus, and HE is the light of this world, but the only way we are going to be affective at shining our light is if we get rooted in Him, through prayer, reading of The Word, fasting, and by simply being Jesus to those around us.

  13. CHILDREN OF LIGHT

With the entire land in darkness, the children of the LORD still have LIGHT. This passage gives us HOPE that we too will have and be LIGHT to a world that is dark. The gift of the Holy Ghost empowers us to be light to this world, because JESUS is the LIGHT of the world.

Walk with and in JESUS and we become the LIGHT of JESUS in a dark world.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

    BE Light

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  14. Exodus 10:1-2
    1) AND the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
    2) And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

I find three interesting facts in these two verses.
    1) God hardened Pharaoh and his servants hearts so that He could show them His power.
    2) He wanted Moses to testify to his son and son’s son (grandchildren) of what things God had done in Egypt.
    3) God wanted Moses to know that He is the Lord.

God has a plan and a purpose for everything He does.
    1) He wants to show His power.
    2) He wants us to testify of His greatness.
    3) He wants us to know that He is the Lord.

What a Mighty God we serve!

  15. 1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:

2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

These tests that Israelites were enduring all served a purpose, so that for generations to come they would have evidence of God’s miracles, signs and wonders to pass on to their children.

Everything we go through is for a purpose as well. Some to give nuggets to us to pass on to our children of God’s great works, others to give nuggets to those around us to pass on to their generations.

God does nothing foolishly. It’s all with the plan and purpose in mind.

  16. PRIDE

3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

Pride will eat any blessing, any goodness, and any fruit you may have in your life worst than any locust. Humility, humbleness will lift you up, will multiply your fruit, and nothing nor no one will be able to destroy it. God will lift up and bless the humble. Be thankful, be obidient, be humble. In Jesus Name AMEN

  17. 3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: How long will you refuse to submit to me? Let my people go, so they can worship me.

Just imagine how many times God asked each one of us this same question when we started to go to church. Not only going to church but to be committed, worshiper, prayer and faithful saint of God.

  18. 8Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the Lord your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”

9Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord.”

10Pharaoh said, “The Lord be with you—if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil.a 11No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.

Pharoah’s tactic is one the serpent rolled over on Eve in the garden (Gen 3) questioning God’s command to man. He says to take only the men “since that’s what you have been asking for” (vs 10) trying to tempt Moses to comprimise and doubt. Are you sure you heard God right? Is that really what God asked to do or say? It would be tempting to take Pharoah up on his offer because he’s getting tired of going back to Pharoah for the same issue, and to take just the men, but if they left their godly wives and children behind in Egypt what would become of them? What about the men all that is left is to marry unequally yoked women. Isreal needs women to reproduce and children to carry the baton to the next generation. God simply requests Pharoah “let my people go, that they may serve me.” We can’t get it twisted. That means every of Isreal; men, women, children, old, young ect. God is going to bring ALL of his children out of the world to Himself. The man of God knew he couldn’t leave anyone behind. The devil can’t have our familes, or our children.

  19. Exodus 10:27 (AMP)

27 But the Lord made Pharaoh’s heart stronger and more stubborn, and he would not let them go.

Pharaoh continued to say he would let them go but he would change his mind again and again. I believe that this is because God hardened his heart.

Yet Pharaoh had to go first. God wasn’t forcing the will of Pharaoh. It was still his choice. However Pharaoh had hardened his heart toward God at the beginning.

We must be careful. Sometimes our bad decision may be the last and push us to the place of no return.

  20. 29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
I love Moses faith in this verse he knew what God was doing and he assisted God in fulfilling His will and His purpose. Moses was a man of faith and spoke those words to Pharaoh in face knowing that God was about to fight this battle!

  21. out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.

Not that man has power but his obedience and faith moves God to do great and marvelous things .

  22. 22 Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Don’t be caught in the darkness. We are children of the light.

  23. 22 stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:

As each plague came to the land , the Egyptians soon realized how powerless their idols were , there gods couldnt stop a single plague why cause there is only one God , his name is Jesus Christ

  24. Pass It On

2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

When it comes to passing information along from generation to generation, passing on the testimony of God should be considered of vital importance. Part of Israel’s failings after deliverance from Egypt came in the loss of the testimony of God being passed down through their generations. The first generation saw the miracles, the second heard of it, but the third became strangers to it. Echoes of the Lord’s works were only distant stories that had little impact on their lives and spiritual darkness got its foothold in Israel. It is not enough for one great season of harvest and revival, it must be something that is passed down to other generations. It is not enough to reached this region of Fort Worth if the following generations slip back into spiritual darkness. There must be lasting impact where we are for us and for those coming after us for us to be truly Apostolic.

    Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    Acts 2:38-40
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

  25. 1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him: 2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.

The one and only true God (Jesus) hardened their hearts, and all came to pass; just as God said it would. One that cannot see what is taking place, before ones very eyes today, would be very wise to cry out unto God, while one can; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. Dear God, open our (my) eyes and ears and let our (my) heart not become hardened; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  26. But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

Hallelujah!!!! Jesus will give us many opportunities but we will be cursed if we do not serve or obey our Lord Jesus!!!!! Just like Pastor said last night Jesus gives us free will to to right or to do wrong.nwe can’t expect to not serve Him and want His FULL TIME and give us a perfect life. No we are more than conquerors and nothing is to big for him. I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!!

  27. You said it

28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again

You think Moses was being a little smart with Pharaoh?
I thought it to be funny how what pharaoh just said to Moses was his wish all along. God is ready to give us what we have been praying for. Just keep speaking it. And keep going in!

  28. “Pharaoh called in Moses: “Go and worship GOD. Leave your flocks and herds behind. But go ahead and take your children.””
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭10:24‬ ‭MSG‬‬
    http://bible.com/97/exo.10.24.msg

It’s interesting that pharaoh would give just enough room to somewhat agree to releasing Moses but still have a rope tied to the people. This way he would still have control.

You can’t go half way or a third of the way with God, it’s all or nothing. Let God take control.

  29. 22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:

23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
Those who live in disobedience to God live in darkness. Those who love God live in the light.

  30. v23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

v29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

Thank GOD for a place in the land of Goshen.Where we can enjoy GOD’S protection that distinguishes us from those who live under HIS wrath.

  31. Every time pharaoh is going to say no, God tells Moses and then he hardens his heart. Thank you Jeaus that you prepare us for things that we couldn’t imagine. This is getting Moses and the Israelites in a place where they can listen and know the voice of God.

  32. 5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:

Locust swarms devastate crops and cause major agricultural damage and attendant human misery—famine and starvation. They occur in many parts of the world, but today locusts are most destructive in sustenance farming regions of Africa.

The desert locust is notorious. Found in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, they inhabit some 60 countries and can cover one-fifth of Earth’s land surface. Desert locust plagues may threaten the economic livelihood of one-tenth of the world’s humans.

A desert locust swarm can be 460 square miles (1,200 square kilometers) in size and pack between 40 and 80 million locusts into less than half a square mile (one square kilometer).

Each locust can eat its weight in plants each day, so a swarm of such size would eat 423 million pounds (192 million kilograms) of plants every day.

Like the individual animals within them, locust swarms are typically in motion and can cover vast distances. In 1954, a swarm flew from northwest Africa to Great Britain. In 1988, another made the lengthy trek from West Africa to the Caribbean.

GOD’S plan to leave them unable to naturally find substance was because in reality Pharaoh’s heart was already harden. His rejection and harshness towards Isreal had nothing to do with them but the favor that was upon them.

When lives are harden towards God He has to make the things that are feeding them unable to do so, that His Word may take root and transform them.

  33. “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.(Exodus‬ ‭10:21‬ ‭NKJV)

The plague brought darkness upon Egypt and a dreadful plague. The darkness which might be felt through the thick fog, It was so ashtonised and terrified. It continued three days; six nights in one; so long the most lightsome palaces were dungeons. Now Pharaoh had time to consider, if he would have improved it. Spiritual darkness is spiritual bondage; while Satan blinds men’s eyes that they see not, he binds their hands and feet, that they work not for God, nor move toward heaven.
