Exodus 14

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

6 And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

8 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.

11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

  1. 25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

THAT ‘S RIGHT!!! My DADDY FIGHTS FOR HIS OWN!!! HE IS FAITHFUL HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS

  2. 24. And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

    25. And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

Have you ever heard the old saying, “The wheels fell off the wagon”?
It means that all of a sudden everything went wrong and all your plans fell apart. This is literally what happened to the Egyptians that day; God took the wheels off of their ‘wagons’ and spoiled their plans of capturing the children of Israel.
When it looks like you are in the midst of a ‘sea’ of troubles don’t give up, but have faith in God and know that sometimes the wheels falling off the wagon is a good thing!

  3. Wow…..my God is so big, so strong and so mighty! What a sight that must have been, the first ever drive thru aquarium. When we are facing an impossible situation (so we think), trust in the Lord and remember verses 13-14 NLT that say “But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” JESUS today YOU will SAVE me….thank you Jesus!

  4. 30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

I can’t tell you how many times God has delivered me and allowed me to see the death of where I came from. Hallelujah!

  5. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

I wanted a deep revelation this morning but cannot get away from this verse!!

    victory, victory shall be mine
    victory, victory shall be mine
if i hold my peace and let God fight my battles
    victory, victory shall be mine

  6. iLove to eat More Word

Exodus 14:4 NLT And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display My glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD!” So the Israelites camped there as they were told.

The Lord has a plan and it deals with the redemption of his people. The Lord had a plan to intentionally make it look like Israel did not have a plan. The plan was to use the man of God to administer a mass baptism for the children of Israel and wash away their past.

  7. Gods hand

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Surely the hand of the Lord was upon the children of Israel, but the Lords hand did not move until Moses acted upon the word of the Lord. God uses his men of God to do his will. The Lord could have come down without any help at all and wiped out the Egyptians himself but he chose to use the hand of man. Whenever our Pastor is speaking into our lives we have to know that it is the same hand of God working for us. Gods will for our lives will be revealed by our man of God.

  8. NO FEAR

Fear paralyses, has torment, and robs good people of a BLESSED future. Moses spoke on behalf of GOD, such as does every GOD called, Evangelist, Pastor, Prophet, Teacher and Apostle. Moses discouraged fear and encouraged FAITH.

Our FAITH in GOD and the encouragement of our Spiritual Leaders is imperative to the continued growth of the Kingdom of GOD. Lets be encouragers today to those that are facing seeming impossible situations.

JOY demolishes fear. Because JOY is the FRUIT of FAITH in JESUS. JESUS can do anything.

  9. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

God will fight for us if will but obey and be faithful. We just have to keep moving forward.

  10. Exodus 14:13-15 (KJV Strong’s)

Moses stands and speaks with faith, boldness, and elegance. He proclaims as a leader that God will make a way. He basically puts God to the test in the face of their adversary and opposition on every side. The people are encouraged and just before Moses can get the words out of his mouth the Lord answers him.

    Exodus 14:15 (NLT)
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!

It was like God was saying “ok Moses, you said it now let’s see if you really believe it.”

Faith is only faith if we do something about it. Jesus isn’t into street talk. He wants to see if we will back up our words with our actions.

    1 John 3:18 (KJV Strong’s)

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

  11. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Everyone has their favorite verse that in times of trouble they just pause and say to themselves – this one is mine. It’s not a real popular verse but it’s one I learned as a bible quizzer years ago. There’s so many times we get caught up trying to get ourselves out of our own mess because we either think we’re all great and mighty, or because we don’t want anyone to see us struggle and fail. Regardless, we need to remember God is on our side, and even though we have to do our part and be obedient, submissive, and trusting to God, He is the one who fights our battles. God is fighting for us, so just praise Him!

  12. Three things came to my mind as I read this chapter.
    1) God has everything under control.
    2) “.. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19b
    3) I thought of the song, God is fighting for us, and the part that says…
    God is fighting for us
    Pushing back the darkness
    Lighting up the kingdom
    That cannot be shaken
    In the name of Jesus
    Enemy’s defeated
And we will shout it out
    Shout it out

Thank You JESUS for fighting for us!
The battle’s not ours, but the Lord’s!

  13. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Not sure why it is man’s first instinct to complain about a situation or doubt a situation before giving God opportunity to work in that situation. Somehow if we could just learn to be patient and wait before we grumble, complain or dough, and seek the Lord instead God will show Himself strong.

  14. 15Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

This is a powerful message in itself. God is telling Moses their is no time for you and the Isrealites to freak out. God’s has handled everything now all they have to do is “move on”. Whenever we are in a situation like the Israelites here, between a rock and a hard place all we have to do is “move on” in the steps he has set for us. “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” (Isa 59;19) Now we just need to step out in faith God has it all under control.

  15. And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.

What will cause us to turn our hearts towards God once again? We must be the light to this world, for he has risen and is coming back for a bride that has prepared herself.

  16. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
younger Moses spoke to the people of God and told them not to fear any longer but that a new beginning was going to start for them from that day forward. I believe there are times when God says to us” take a look at that problem one more time because your never going to see it again” Thank God for the power of deliverance!

  17. God will get the victory everytime. You may be fighting a battle and can’t figure out which way it’s going to go. If you would put your trust in Jesus and let him handle it, you will come out a winner everytime. There is still power in the name of Jesus.

  18. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Fear is a deadly thing that paralyzes and makes you doubt and loose faith.  Even after seeing the great wonders and miracles of God, fear will try to make you focus on the situation.  Im reminded of Elisah right after he prayed and God sent fire to consume the sacrifice. Then next happenings we read is how he is fleeing from the wicked Jezebel.  We need to remind ourselves that God does not give us the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind.   Stand on the word of God when trouble tries to scare your faith away.  The devil is a liar.  God is greater and he is in us.

  19. “And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.” The children of Israel were frightened as the Egyptians were very close; but God (Jesus). Although one may be able to see one’s Egyptian (trial, dilemma, etc.) one can have peace in the fact that God, is in control. Dear God, let my focus be on you; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In GOD we trust”. “One Nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty GOD we serve! Thank GOD for his word. GOD bless America, Jerusalem, and you all in JESUS name, Amen!

  20. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

When obstacles are in front of you and the enemy is behind you remember to not allow fear to cloud tour mind for God shall fight for you.

  21. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Even despite all the miracles that the Jewish people had already seen, they still murmured about how they were gonna die in the desert as soon as the Egyptians went after them. But Moses did not doubt the Lord and he knew what was gripping the people of Israel: fear. When you let fear take control of your decisions in life, you fail to see the miracles God has done for you and your faith starts to fade away.

  22. “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:16, 21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The things if God are not always immediate. It says that it took all night. When I think about the parting of the Red Sea I think of the pAssing I don’t tend to think about the parting of he waters and it taking all night for the wind to dry he ground. It’s a process. When there is a mighty move of God to show himself miraculous, it’s a process.

  23. “The Israelites saw the great power the Lord showed against the Egyptians. So they had respect for the Lord. They put their trust in him and in his servant Moses.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:31‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

We must always trust God and the man of God.  God is in control, see all and hears all. God will fight for those who are being righteous.  God is faithful!
