Exodus 29

1 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,

2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.

3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.

4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water.

5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:

6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre.

7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

8 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.

9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest’s office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.

10 And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock.

11 And thou shalt kill the bullock before the Lord, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

12 And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.

13 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

14 But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.

15 Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

16 And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar.

17 And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.

18 And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the Lord: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

19 And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.

22 Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of consecration:

23 And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the Lord:

24 And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the Lord.

25 And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the Lord: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

26 And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before the Lord: and it shall be thy part.

27 And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is for his sons:

28 And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’ by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it is an heave offering: and it shall be an heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heave offering unto the Lord.

29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons’ after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

30 And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.

31 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and seethe his flesh in the holy place.

32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

33 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.

34 And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

35 And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to all things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.

36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

37 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.

38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually.

39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:

40 And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering.

41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.

45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.

  1. He gave very detailed instructions on how to go about this entire process, and they were to be followed exactly. This shows that we do not approach Him with the ‘He will just take whatever I give Him’ attitude…No, He is worthy of the best, and worthy to receive the honor of obedience.

  2. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.
8 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them.
9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest’s office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.

Leviticus 20:26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

It is our duty and obligation to raise our childten in the way of the Lord. We are a holy nation. Aaron may have had trials, but the Lord had plans for his family. Aaron made mistakes at the foot of Mount Sinai, but the Lord forgave and brought him into the royal priesthood. He paved the way for his children when he submitted his life and now his children serve the Lord by his side. What a proud moment for both Aaron the Dad and ABBA FATHER, Jehovah M’Kadesh.

  3. The daily sacrifices spoken of at the end of the chapter, reminded me of our daily walk with the Lord. Just like Aaron and his son’s followed the instructions of the Lord to be worthy to serve, we too must follow His commandments and serve.

  4. My how little we think about entering into the presence of God. This is an exhaustive list to complete before entering before His presence. Today we walk in as if it were 7-Eleven. Shame on me for not giving the respect that is due my God and my King.

  5. 12 And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.

I’m so thankful for the blood, that covers me, my house, my family, my church. Looking at ALL Jesus has brought me through, without His blood covering my multitude of sins, I would have made it this far.

  6. NO OFFERING = NO GLORY, KNOW SACRIFICE = KNOW GLORY

Reading the commandments of the LORD for the congregation to come to worship the LORD reveals a humbling reality of how the first worshippers made a lifestyle of giving to GOD. “a continual burnt offering” was to be at the door of the tabernacle.

The LORD revealed to us years ago that we are to bring an offering every time we come to worship. We purpose to set funds aside to give to the LORD in EVERY worship service. We WORSHIP an unchanging GOD.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

I believe the LORD still has that longing in his eyes and heart to meet with his people in the tabernacle, however the sacrifice at the altar is too often not offered.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  7. 42 “These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord’s presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you. (NLT)

Yet we complain about the smallest things, when back then they followed these very detailed orders. They followed them not just because they had to, but because they knew it was in respect of the presence of God – something we seem to take all too lightly today. The Lord desires our all, a humble sacrifice, every time we come into His presence. In an earlier verse it says that once His altar is made holy, anything hat touches it becomes holy. How awesome would it be if we truly made the altar a holy place for our God, can you imagine the revival?! People coming and receiving the Holy Ghost and worshiping Him just because they stepped into His holy presence and recognized it as such. Wow!

  8. “And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭29:43-45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  9. iLove to Grow in the Word
Exodus 29:20 NLT Then slaughter it, and apply some of its blood to the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons. Also put it on the thumbs of their right hands and the big toes of their right feet. Splatter the rest of the blood against all sides of the altar.

These laws and statutes that are being installed by God Almighty were very bloody. This outward display with Jehovah was not pretty, can you imagine taking a bucket full of blood and splattering it against the altar? Taking internal organs out of bulls and other animals and burning the carcass in the temple?

The fact of the matter is, God is not interested in cute church, he wants us to spill our guts on the altar. Boom

  10. 29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons’ after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them

The holy things of God are meant to be passed on from generation to generation. To pass it on we must teach them how to handle the holy. We can’t expect them to just grow and know what to do when they are older, they have to be taught. But we can’t just teach them what to do, we have to teach them why we do what we do. A love an respect needs to be developed or they will just go through the motions and not really care.

  11. 43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.
44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.
45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

We need a man of God in our lives. It was through Aaron and his sons that God would speak through. Just as God uses Pastor to speak into lives. We must trust our man of God.

  12. 4“Present Aaron and his sons at the entrance of the Tabernacle,a and wash them with water.

Even then, the significance of washing with water was important. The process of consecration began with cleansing. This was done at the entrance of the Tabernacle for all to see. It symbolized washing away their sins before entering the Tabernacle.

  13. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

The Anointed Church. The Anointed generation

  14. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons’ after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

    The anointing shall pass on!

  15. 27 And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is for his sons:

I was always taught to wave my offering on my way to the altar. I still do it to this day. I will not give to God something that did not cost me anything. Learn to give with sacrifice. Wave it high up to heaven, and give it with joy!!!!! If it didn’t hurt it is not a sacrifice.

  16. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

The anointing is passed on to the next generation, it’s our job to live up to it.

  17. Exodus 29:43-45
    43) And there will I meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified (set apart as or declared holy; consecrate) by my glory.
    44) And I will sanctify (set apart as or declare holy; consecrate) the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify (set apart as or declare holy; consecrate) also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.
    45) And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

Psalms 4:3 says, “But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.”

What an Amazing God we serve!
He has sanctified us. He has set us apart, made us holy, consecrated us, purified us, and cleansed us by His Blood.

  18. 33 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.

I love how God took care of Aaron and his sons, and it was not what anyone could eat only they were able to eat the consecrated meat and bread. I believe that God allowed them to eat it, so that they dressed, lived and ate a holy life style. Because God is a Holy God and he desires for us to live a Holy life style, even the things that we wear and eat can make a difference.
1 Peter 1:15-16 (niv) But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for It is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
God is great, and Greatly to be Praised!!

  19. It truly amazes me on the details that God places in the Tabernacle. It makes me think , shame on me for ever thinking different. God cares about the details of our lives every jot and every tittle.Every little thing he cares about … Oh how he loves you and me!

  20. 43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

It was ager the sacrifice that God came to meet with the children of Isreal. In the same way that when we sacrosanct l sacrifice to the Lord he comes to meet us as well. That’s why this sacrifice of fasting 7 days that is coming up will be anointed and powerful

  21. Look at the preparation it took for Aaron to just get in the presence of the Lord. The come as you are mentality didn’t work then. God has afforded us grace in his presence but he expects is to GROW. This example of what it took to just be around God should remix is of the respect that we should hold for His house. Let’s bring the respect back to the house of the Lord.

  22. I Am the Lord Their God
    45. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.
    46. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.

Rev.21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

  23. Exodus 29:36

36 Each day you must sacrifice a young bull as a sin offering to purify them, making them right with the Lord. Afterward, cleanse the altar by purifying it; make it holy by anointing it with oil.

Every day there was a sacrifice. So every day we must present our bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto him. It was a major privilege to be a part of the priesthood. They got to wear the garments and work in the presence of God. They were closest to the Lord as could be possible.

However they were still sinners in need of a savior. Every day they were humbled and face to face with the blood for their own sins. We must never forget that no matter where God takes us we will always be in need of his mercy, Grace, and forgiveness. Thank God for the blood.

  24. 15 Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

16 And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar.

Thank God that he sent Jesus to die for us on the cross to become the one time sacrifice on the altar to wash away our sins with his blood.

  25. 43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

We must get where the glory is if we expect to be bless. We cannot expect God’s blessings being in the wrong place and doing things we should not be doing as Christians. God has a way and order that things need to be done in. By us obeying the rules God has already put into place, we can obtain the blessings he has in store for us.

  26. 42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
Way too often we come into the presence of God like we deserve to be there. No God doesnt require us to bring a burnt o f fering to him but th e way we walk into the presence of the lord at times is definitely not filled with humility or great fulness of Gods mercy allowing us to be able to come into his presence.

  27. 45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.

Although there were requirements, the blessings far outweighed them. The same is true today and while there are requirements, the blessings far exceed them. Dear God, help me to truly see and hear; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  28. 17 And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head.

18 And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the Lord: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

It is important for us to offer God a sacrifice of praise that is washed from within. And presented to Him in a way that is worthy of Him. When we allow the Holy Ghost and fire to consume us we offer up a sweet smelling savour to Him!

  29. 29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons’ after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.

Leaving an inheritance to our children. Our children should be walking in our footsteps. They should know what is and isn’t appropriate attire for everyday life and church. That is why we should be leaders daily, being an example to our children what a true modest and passionate Christian looks like.

  30. 7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.

The anointing is not just for us but for the next generation our children. My family doesn’t understand how I can leave them to go to go to church activities because they don’t see what I see. I know that I am going to be fed spiritually and that my children are going to receive what I receive. My children are going to learn what I learned and practice it with me. Children are so smart and will learn to be prayer warriors, praises, worshippers, leaders, and more because we are their example. I’m proud to say my Jr will stop somebody if he see that they are not praying before their food. He is privledge to know memory verses that children do not know. He is carrying the Word with him and knows to pray for someone when they are sick. Thank you Jesus!!!!!

  31. “There I will also meet with the people of Israel. My glory will make the place holy.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭29:43‬ ‭NIRV‬‬
Our God is so holy. I’m thankful for his Spirit that dwells in the praises of His people.

  32. 45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.

God wants to shine through us as we glorify his holy name.

  33. 44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.

45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the Lord their God.

It took the blood sacrifice to sanctify the Aaron and his sons to minister upon the Lord. Today, I am very thankful for the blood sacrifice that was given as atonement for my sins forever, so that I could have the Lord dwell with me and be my God.

  34. 42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

Dont come to the house of the Lord empty handed. Always bring an offering and be prepared to recive a word.

  35. The gruesome acts for consecration and offering are described here in detail. Each step is for a reason so that the Lord will make known his priests who serve him, his people the Irealites to dwell among them. All of this is done to show a sign to his people that He is the Lord their God. Jesus went through an equally gruesome torture followed by crucifixion to free us of sin and give us the Holy Ghost that he may dwell inside of us. God is with us all the time and not just in a tent of meeting or through the priest appointed. He is the high priest and we have an all access pass.

  36. v20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

There was a TIME when GOD’S PRESENCE was separated from the people in the old Testament time .Only priest could enter once into the most HOLY for the sins of the people.
Praise GOD !!! The veil has been torn away . Every man , woman, boy or girl can come to everything GOD has available for you. Not a select few but everyone that will come , GOD will hold nothing back to HIMSELF , because
” The veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to the bottom ”
    Matthew 27:51
That was GOD’S doing not man.
