Exodus 30

1 And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.

2 A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.

3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

4 And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.

5 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

7 And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.

8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

9 Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the Lord.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the Lord, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

13 This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the Lord.

14 Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the Lord.

15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.

16 And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.

17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the Lord:

21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

22 Moreover the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

23 Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:

25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,

27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,

28 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.

29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.

30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

32 Upon man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.

33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

34 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:

35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:

36 And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.

37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.

38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

  1. In this chapter, has many precise instructions regarding anointing and measurements, and warnings for duplicating these or copying instructions.

God has his ways of doing things……,,,,,,,

  2. 23 Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:
25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the allpothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

There are several different healing oils blends that work in the body to help us fight off illness, pain, and other maladies. I praise God for being so detailed. In these oil blends are several of the different spices that are mentioned in the scriptures above. Frankincense alone is very good for purifying the body. God knows what he’s doing when he calls us to do things in a particular way. I have never experienced the holy anointing oil or the sweet perfume concoction that they speak of. With the spices he calls for, i can only imagine how potent that oil is, but you must be careful with what God ordains. He says it all that if you mimic, you will be cut off from your people.

  3. 15. The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.

God has a set plan of salvation and everyone, rich or poor, must follow the same plan.

    Colossians 3:25
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

  4. So much detail and instruction continues in this chapter. All of these things had to be just right as verse 29 MSG says “Consecrate them so they’ll be soaked in holiness, so that anyone who so much as touches them will become holy.” Can you imagine??? So much has been lost from generation to generation…..the respect, the reverence and the fear. We have to get back to the heart of worship….as the song “Heart of Worship” says:

    When the music fades
    All is stripped away
    And I simply come
    Longing just to bring
    Something that’s of worth
    That will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song
    For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
    You search much deeper within
    Through the way things appear
    You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
    And it’s all about You,
    It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
    When it’s all about You,
    It’s all about You, Jesus

    King of endless worth
    No one could express
    How much You deserve
    Though I’m weak and poor
    All I have is Yours
    Every single breath

  5. Be Sanctified

Directions are here given for making the holy anointing oil, and the incense to be used in the service of the tabernacle. We have to understand that it was God’s intention to show them and us that What He desires to use cannot be used for “common” things. His sole purpose was to sanctify them for Himself.

The same is to be told about our lives. He desires for us to be instruments sanctified for His use because “we are His craftmanship.” – Ephesians 2:10 You might say well I am just a common or ordinary person yet once you have been filled with the Holy Ghost and anointed by God for His purpose you are required to no longer walk in the common human mindset but “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2) and walk in the Spirit.

After He has called us His craftsmanship and we take on His name when we go back and try to think and act the old way we become “carnal” A easy to remember definition of carnality is when a spiritual person tries to do a spiritual thing with natural means or mindset. When I walk in fear, doubt, or sin I become carnal and a carnal mind is enmity with God. Romans 8:7

Why is this the enemy of the King because in reality the kingdom is within us (Luke 17:21)- once we have the Holy Ghost and the greatest principle of the Kingdom is FAITH! Fear, doubt, and sin work against faith. You cannot walk in Faith and fear what’s going to help next but faith says “no matter what comes my way My GOD IS ABLE to supply all my needs.” -Phillipians 4:19

Today and during the upcoming 40 Days of Passion it is my prayer that God transforms my mindset to daily evaluate myself that I may “Be Sanctified” and walk in the spirit and put away any spirit human or demonic that I may always be ready for His use.

Prophet Guy imparted unto us when He was here and it is God is going to honor the man of God yet we “the people of God” have to be ready in-season and out because we never know when God will send us a assignment. -2 Timothy 4:2

  6. ““Use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the Chest of The Testimony, the Table and all its utensils, the Lampstand and its utensils, the Altar of Incense, the Altar of Whole-Burnt-Offerings and all its utensils, and the Washbasin and its base. Consecrate them so they’ll be soaked in holiness, so that anyone who so much as touches them will become holy.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭30:26-29‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Can you imagine becoming annointed by using a spoon? We as keepers of the House of God should show the deserved respect to all things that belong to God and His house. Whether we are using the van to bring people to service or preparing a snack for Sunday School children; everything deserves a Divine respect.

  7. iLove to grow in the Word

Everyone counted, age twenty and up, is to make the offering to God. The rich are not to pay more nor the poor less than the half-shekel offering to God, the atonement-tax for your lives. Take the atonement-tax money from the Israelites and put it to the maintenance of the Tent of Meeting. It will be a memorial fund for the Israelites in honor of God, making atonement for your lives

Many say the church is only after money but this passage of scripture reveals that God is the One who sets this system. Not only that, but God links giving with atonement. By giving, Amen

  8. THE ALTAR PRECEDES THE GLORY OF GOD

The LORD was very specific in regards to the altar. The detailed instructions of how and what are identified in regards to the altar. As we consider our prayer life today, we must ask ourselves the question of how we approach the altar of the LORD and if we have even built an altar or are we just telling GOD what we need, want or do we just tell him what to do. I often hear the phrase “I told GOD”.

This statement makes me uncomfortable, for the fact the we are instructed to ask and receive, when we tell GOD what to do, is it really prayer? Is it worship at an altar of sacrifice? Or is it more of a drive thru window mentality? Drive up to a speaker and tell someone you cannot see what you want then pull around and pick it up and leave.

We learn from this passage that the altar is a detailed process of preparation and that the altar is placed before the veil which hides the GLORY of GOD.

We need REVIVAL in our lives today and every day. Building an altar and approaching the altar with great respect is the path to the GLORY of GOD.

THE ALTAR PRECEDES THE GLORY OF GOD

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. Exodus 30:14-15
14)Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.
    15) The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

This made me think of two things this morning.
One, everyone had to bring their own offering unto the Lord. Phil. 2:12b says, “… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” It’s a personal walk with the Lord.
Two, everyone whether rich or poor, had to bring the same amount of an offering. Today, everyone whether rich or poor, has to be saved the sane way through the Plan of Salvation. (Repentance, Baptism in Jesus Name, and Infilling of the Holy Ghost).

Thank You JESUS that you loved and died for all of us, whether rich or poor. It’s not your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  10. 15 When this offering is given to the LORD to purify your lives, making you right with him,f the rich must not give more than the specified amount, and the poor must not give less.

This shows God sees no difference between the rich and the poor. Whether you are rich or poor, what counts is your soul. God puts everyone on equal ground when it comes to your salvation. He wants us to know, everyone is important to him.

  11. 10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the Lord.

It Is Most Holy Unto The Lord

The “it” here is referring to the blood from the sacrifice of the sin offering, that is for making atonement. Fast forward a few years and we see that Jesus laid His life down for our atonement. Today that very same blood still is our atonement.

When we think of the joy we feel as we come out of the water from being Baptized in Jesus’ Name, we see the freedom of having all our sins paid for, but most of the time we do not see the magnitude that Jesus sees it as. We are taught that all of heaven rejoices over one sinner coming to repentance, just as the Word tells us, but we still miss it at that.

Holy means set apart. This is most Holy, meaning that it is one of the most set apart times… That is why all of heaven rejoices, because not only is there a celebration for the one soul, but quite probably for the fact that all of heaven is rejoicing in that Jesus’ blood has conquered sin and death again.

  12. The Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I will meet with you; it will be for you the holiest of holy places. When you make this incense, you are not to copy the mixture for your own use. It’s holy to GOD; keep it that way. Whoever copies it for personal use will be excommunicated.””
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭30:36-38‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Just like the word. We can not add or take away.

  13. 37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.

38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

God expects us to obey his word and respect the altar for it is holy. His specifics are for a reason because he has a plan for everything, we may not understand why until it comes to pass.

  14. “”Have a person who makes perfume mix it all up into a sweet-smelling incense. It must have salt in it. It will be pure and sacred. Grind some of it into powder. Place it in front of the tablets of the covenant in the Tent of Meeting. There I will meet with you. The incense will be very holy to you.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭30:35-36‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

What an honor to meet with the most high God. I’m thankful for the ability to go to him in prayer but I am looking forward to the day that this body turns from mortal to immortal and I get to see him face-to-face and cast my crown at he is feet and cry “holy”.

  15. Again there are so many details with each instruction. The reverence they had at this time is something we lack today. Not only do we fall short of it in our own lives, but in teaching it to next generations. We can see in plain view how authorities every where are slowly losing their power because they need to “loosen up” and not be so strict according to society. We, as children of God, should never loosen up but maintain the respect and honor we know our God is worthy of.

  16. 32 Upon man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.

33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

The true anointing of God cannot be replicated or duplicated. This is why it is so dangerous to remove important principles in our lives, and still believe that we are “anointed.” God’s plan is specific, if he placed principles in HIs word to be followed, they should be followed to the “t” and the crossing of the “i.” Man has no business manipulating God’s word to please man. That would be mixing up our own oil to anoint with that is not holy and sanctioned by the Lord.

  17. 9 Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the Lord.

  18. 12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the Lord, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

We have be bought with a price.

The reason for the sacrifice was to roll there sins forward. But Jesus died, he “the man,” became the pure essence of sin. we were then bought with the ultimate price. Where no more sacrifice had to be made.

  19. Hebrews 8:5 tell us the Tabernacle plan (with all its details) is a type, a shadow and an example of heaven. It’s procedures were to be carefully followed so when the priests entered into God’s presence, they would not die. We also must just as carefully follow his plan or procedures to come into his presence. We must must repent-die to self, be washed, eat his word, let him light our path and offer prayer as we draw near to him. Then as Psalms 100 tells us, enter his gates with thanksgiving, enter his courts with praise, know that the Lord he is God. Following him must be done according to his plan.

  20. 37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.

  21. 29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.

30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

  22. Exodus 30:7
7 “Every morning when Aaron maintains the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar.

    Psalms 5:3
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

    Psalms 141:2
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Daily, morning, and evening we should spend time with God. Sometimes we need to unplug, and connect to him and only him. When we spend time with Jesus we come to a realization that he is in control and we have nothing to fear. He knows what he is doing.

    Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

If he is maintaining the entirety of all reality, the vast greatness and depth of the universe, and the smallest particles of the micro-verse, he has no trouble with the plans he has for us. 🙂

  23. v36 And thou shall beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most HOLY.

There’s a holy place and a most HOLY place . There are certain reservations in all of our lives.Different degrees of consecration.

The the most holy we find the mercy seat, cherubims
    THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
GOD isn’t particular in the least about the place we choose.
All HE wants is to meet with you and me.
    Entertaining HIS PRESENCE.

  24. 17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

This was to teach them purity in all their services, and to dread the pollution of sin. They must not only wash and be made clean, when first made priests, but must wash and be kept clean, whenever they went to minister. It teaches us daily to attend upon God, daily to renew our repentance for sin, and our looking to the blood of Christ for remission; for in many things we daily offend.

  25. 37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.

My life is not my own…. It’s all about Jesus !!! You are the reason why we came to this church Jesus!!!! You knew our plans and we wanted more of you. We were so hungry for a move of the HG, everything inside of us wanted more and so blessed and thankful for where we are now. We bless your name.

  26. And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

Let your prayers be as the incense that go up continually. And that a prayer lifestyle may be always with you and your future generations. We are an example to thoae looking up to us. Your children are watching your neighbor is too. May your prayer life be a constant flow of sweer aroma

  27. Most Holy Worship

True worship cannot be counterfeited, reproduced, concentrated then reconstituted, made up, fake, rehearsed, dressed up or down, or forced. True worship comes from a deeply prepared heart and mind. When coming into the presence of God we have to come with a pure and holy worship, anything else will not be accepted.

  28. 27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,

28 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.

29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.

it is to be noted in these verses that everything that was in the tabernacle was to be anointed. Everything in the house of God and everyone who came to the house of God was anointed because everything because the anointing oil was Upon everything. When we come to the house of God we should make it a point to treat the house of God like it is anointed and to be anointed ourselves through prayer and consecration so that when we enter and begin to worship and praise God the fire will fall and God will accept our sacrifice.

  29. “Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭30:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The washing station was put between the people and he holy place because there needs to be a place for purity between the world and the holy. We all need to clean our lives of he world so that we can move into the Holy places with the Lord.

  30. You can’t do things your way and expect Godly results. We must learn to put our own desires to the side and work with what God has given us. We obtain more strength by following the plan God has put into place.

  31. 15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.

God is no respecter of persons. Everyone has a soul. The rich and the poor just the same. Just like there was the same atonement for everyone in the Old Testament we all have the same atonement today. Jesus is the savior of everyone’s soul. Rich, poor, doesn’t matter. We all need Jesus.

  32. 33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

The Judge (Jesus) was very clear, just as he is on obedience too his word, and the man of God. One that ignores the Creator’s (God’s) word and chosen man of God, will clearly understand the consequences on judgement day. Dear God, awaken us (me) too our (my) actions or lack thereof, and forgive us (me) while we (I) have breath; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

  34. 30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

Anointing – to be chosen, given a divine responsibility, rubbed with oil.

A anointing usually represents being under a covering of protection, anointed people would walk around with authority.

Prophets were anointed of God to do the work as a prophet. Yet some were rebellious. Kings were anointed of God but could still be forgotten by God.

It’s a dangerous thing to receive a anointing over your life and neglect it. We have been chosen by God to make disciples, we have been given authority over the enemy and to do miracles signs and wonders but forget that the calling comes with an anointing.

  35. 15The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives.

God is not impressed with our financial status. He shows no favoritism toward men (Acts 10:34) and displays it for us here. Jesus died for each of our sins be them great or few. His blood atones the sin of our lives just like the instructions of anotment for the Isrealites only we have access every day and not just once a year.
