Exodus 31

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,

9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,

10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office,

11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

  1. 13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

Not for just that generation but for generations.

  2. 2. See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

    3. And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

    4. To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

    5. And in cutting of stones, to set them , and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

“God doesn’t always call the qualified, but qualifies the called.” – I’ve heard this quote most of my life and have found it to be true in many cases. God doesn’t always choose those who are known to be skilled to do a certain task, but gives the skills to someone obedient enough to try.

  3. 13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

  4. In reading this chapter, we see how God didn’t just give a super detailed list of things to do and say go do your best; but, He supplied the way, the know how and the people as we see in part of verses 1-5 MSG that says “…I’ve filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him skill and know-how and expertise….”. Also in the beginning of verses 6-11 MSG “Not only that, but I’ve given him Oholiab, son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan, to work with him. And to all who have an aptitude for crafts I’ve given the skills to make all the things I’ve commanded you….” God has given us this new building and he is going to provide the means to complete it.

The end of verse 13 AMP says “….so that you may know [without any doubt] and acknowledge that I am the Lord who sanctifies you and sets you apart [for Myself].” 1 Peter 2:9-10 AMP says “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” Same verses MSG “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”

  5. “Written in stone” means it’s permanent, fixed, unchangeable.

Ex. 31:18, “And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.”
Ex. 32:16, “And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables ”

God wrote the Ten Commandments on two tables of stone with His own finger. It is permanent, fixed, and can never change. All His commandments are sure. (Ps.111:7)
He gave these commandments to the children of Israel to live by, and they are still for us today to live by.

Ecc. 12:13 says, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

  6. Look at this Jaci, the creative team comes on the scene in this chapter! It’s a principle of the bible for the church to look a certain way. God gives the instruction of how it should be. He’s giving a pattern of what it is like in heaven. If we follow these instructions it would be heaven on earth.

  7. iLove to Grow in the Word

3I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. 4He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. 5He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!

Wow, in this scripture we find several very amazing details. One is the fact that God is informing Moses that He is the one that chose Bezaleel and Bezaleel’s assistant. When he chose them for the job, he filled them with supernatural wisdom and skill in order to accomplish the task at hand.

This is a prime example of why we should pray for our pastor. God is the one who set him up and it’s God wisdom that sustains him.

  8. The Finger of God

18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

    1260 finger of God
    1260 FINGER OF GOD

A figure of speech which gives expression to God’s creative power and authority over his creation.

    God creates with his finger

Ps 8:3 See also Isa 48:13; Isa 64:8

    God writes with his finger

He writes the law Ex 31:18 See also Ex 24:12; Ex 32:16; Ex 34:1

He writes judgment Da 5:5 See also Da 5:24-28

God works miracles with his finger

    He sends plagues Ex 8:19

He exorcises evil spirits Lk 11:20

It is so unfathomable how enormous our God is when you consider that with just His finger comes creation and the means to govern what He created
    .

Just think about it, the day He touched my life at the altar of repentance; I was governed because in baptism He washed away every sin that I would be found not guilty. He created a new mind, heart, and life for me when I was filled with the Holy Ghost. He rewrote the story of my life which is the greatest miracle of all times.

The beauty of this is He lives inside of us!

  9. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

If God calls you, he will equipt you. We worry so much about how are going to be able to do something for God, we don’t anything for him.

We can be the best at curtain things, even have the best talents. But nothing can surpass Gods anointing. Don’t worry yourself out of working for God, trust!

  10. “It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭31:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now we are able to be refreshed in the Holy Ghost!

  11. The mountain experience.

18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

So many times we look at the mountain as a test and trail. But what about the experience of being with God. I have found out that many times in the mountain Taft that’s where I have the best communion with God. It’s in the mountain that we find true meaning and answers. Look up, get up, and don’t ever give up.

  12. NO WORK ON SUNDAY

Understand the biblical principal taught by the apostle Paul in

2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

This is not a contradiction of scripture, but a revelation of another principal. In the LORDS eyes we have 6 days to earn money and 1 day to rest from earning money, the sabbath which we celebrate on SUNDAY. Yes, I have had employment that required me to work on Sunday, but those were the most miserable days of my life. I chose to leave the profession that required my sabbath.

Management of TimeTalentTreasure usually indicate where and how much we are willing to work. My conviction is that if you volunteer to work on Sunday you are placing your FAITH in your employer and not your savior. If you are required to work on Sunday, you should be in perpetual prayer about your employment. If you need to work overtime on Sunday to “make the bills” you need DISCIPLINE in spending.

    Sunday is for REST!

At The POFW we have 3 opportunities on Sunday to REST. 9am 11am and 6pm.

Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

The SPIRIT of the LORD (Baptism of the Holy Ghost) and the WORD of the LORD are our REST on the Sabbath. Not staying home in bed because we are tired. (Thats LAZY).

We are renewed and strengthened every SUNDAY by the SPIRIT and WORD of GOD through the Praise, Worship, Prayer, Giving, Teaching and Preaching.

Happy Last Day of 2015 (BYE 2015)

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  13. 1 Then the Lord said to Moses,
2 “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. (NLT)

God is looking for the obedient, submissive heart that will not boast but humbly serve Him, and give Him all the glory.

  14. Our talents are not for our own benefit.

“and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What are we doing with our God given talents? Are we using our abilities to further His kingdom out are we keeping it hidden because we might not be perfect?

“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:28-30‬

  15. 3 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

The Sabbath day, our Sunday is a day that we come to the sanctuary, gathered in unity, enter into the most holy of holies as a corporate body, for a time of refreshing of our spirit, mind and soul. There is such a synergy when God’s people get together and worship the Lord, and exhibit true praise unto Him. It is a feeling that just can’t be explained and it truly refreshes the soul!

  16. “Then the Lord spoke to Moses. He said, “I have chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri. Uri is the son of Hur. Bezalel is from the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God. I have filled him with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts. He can make beautiful patterns in gold, silver and bronze. He can cut and set stones. He can work with wood. In fact, he can work in all kinds of crafts. “I have also appointed Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, to help him. Oholiab is from the tribe of Dan. “I have given ability to all of the skilled workers. They can make everything I have commanded you to make. Here is the complete list.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭31:1-6‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

God not only provided the plan but also gave the workers the ability to complete it. We must trust in Him when He calls us and obey His instruction. If it’s Gods will it’s His bill. He will make a way and He’s always on time.

  17. 17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Amen!!!! The day to be refreshed in the Lord, no one can give us that peace like my Lord Jesus…. Being in his precense is having power to over come the devil, love for one another, wisdom, knowledge, holiness, and much more. Being able to refresh yourselves with the Word and His Spirit. I love going to church because I know that people are going to be delivered, transformed, renewed, and refreshed. My life would be a disaster if I didn’t have my Lord. Don’t let your job stop you from going to church, I used to work for a hotel and was forced to work Sundays but I hated working on Sundays so I prayed to God to give me a Mon-Fri morning job and praise God a week later I got a call to work at the school. I rejoiced because church is my life, all for your kingdom Jesus!!!! Never doubt His power!!!!!!

  18. 18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Moses was given so much information up on Mt Sinai, but was assured that God had already called and chosen the people to build and construct each part of the temple. Now Moses could see that he had teams to oversee rather than stress out about the work ahead. When we all work together for the Lord, we become one great team that has many members with many different talents-all designed to do a particular work for the Lord.
    Romans 12:4-8
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
    6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
    7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

  19. v 15 Six days may work be done; but the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

“Sacred Matters obedience in all areas”

A prayer… Dear LORD JESUS thou has not asked very much of thy people
You ask us to come to Church
Which some of thy people had not
You ask us to give liberally
Some have and some have not
But there is one thing Oh GOD that we do not believe
That you will not ever forgive us for
    Unless we totally repent
And that is the terrible sin of irreverence
Thank you that somethings are still HOLY
That we can feel you’re presence in your house.
Praise GOD !! BLESS US NOW …IN JESUS NAME

  20. What a giving God we have

God is the giver of talent and knowledge. We are all given talents to serve our Lord and our church. Yes, sometimes the talents given to us serves us to work and prosper but we MUST remember that we should use that talent to serve God the giver of such knowledge FIRST,my hen the rest. Must of us do it backwards, once we serve Him first everything else will fall in place. Thank you Jesus for the gift of interpretation!!!

  21. 6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

    What’s in your hand?

We see here that God has not only placed in our hearts something, but He has also placed a need for it in the heart of the Man of God in our lives. More than likely, He has also shared with our Man of God, what it is, Pastor is just waiting on us to “get our act straight” so that we can be properly used…

  22. God refers to the Sabbath day as a sign, to be observed, and of rest and refreshing. He commands us not to work on that day. I would understand “work” to be considered employment for monetary gain, because minsitry and serving (on or off the church payroll) is something we are called to do (volunteer for) in the kingdom. However, God does not name a particular day of the week either. He does say “for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed” (vs17). Without being refreshed by God by his Word, and prayer we would be running ourselves spiritually empty. To avoid from that happening and bring unity in corporate ‘meeting’ he also calls us to preserve the Sabbath day by “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb 10:25)

  23. 2“Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.

Even while building something, God will bless the hands of those craftsmen, carpenters, plumbers, roofers, etc. We should always work to the best of our ability, and God will bless us!

  24. Exodus 31:13

13 “Tell the people of Israel: ‘Be careful to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you from generation to generation. It is given so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.

The sabbath is a day of rest, a time to do no work. No money is to be made on the sabbath day. No harvesting, and no planting. Basically it is a day where we can do nothing to financially benefit ourselves.

The sabbath was a day of rest. But why? Why sacrifice an entire day? Why risk losing a good crop? Why was no self benefit allowed?

Because every week they needed a reminder. He is the Lord who makes us holy. He is the Lord who provides. He is the Lord who sanctifies. He is the Lord who sets free and saves. He is the Lord of the sabbath.

The sabbath was a day of rest where they were reminded that He is Lord.

  25. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

    6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

We should not think that a commandment from God is too much or to hard for us to do. The Lord will equip his called with all that they need to accomplish that which the Lord has commanded them to do. Do not be afraid if you think your calling is too complex for the task has given you. Just has the Lord provided Aaron to be the voice for Moses, now these two men to make the things of the altar, the same will He equip you in your calling and put you in the path of people that will bless the call and commandment the Lord has placed in your life.

  26. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying.

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying.

The Creator (Jesus) chose to speak to Moses (man of God), which in turn was told to speak to the people; God (Jesus) still communicates the same way today. Therefore it would be wise to listen to what the man of God is saying, in all matters. Dear God, help us (me) to reverence your word, and hear your messenger; “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”. “In God we trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. What a mighty God we serve! Thank God for his word. God bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  27. We have this very same Spirit of God within us too….

3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

    “Be wise”…………….

  28. 6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

The Lord has chosen certain people to do his work. He placed wisdom in those who serve him with their whole heart.

  29. 3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

Just like this man we all have skills and talents that can be used in the kingdom, you don’t have to be a preacher or in the spotlight to be doing God’s work.

  30. 18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Our communication has surly changed since this happened. Today things are so quick that even notes are no longer written by hand. The art of writing things has been lost and its meaning has gone by the wayside as well. Hand writing things tells someone that that is important enough to take time out of their day to convey the importance of their message. God thought this was important enough hat it should be written on something that was hard to destroy or misplace.
