Exodus 38

1 And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.

2 And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass.

3 And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basons, and the fleshhooks, and the firepans: all the vessels thereof made he of brass.

4 And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network under the compass thereof beneath unto the midst of it.

5 And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass, to be places for the staves.

6 And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with brass.

7 And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, to bear it withal; he made the altar hollow with boards.

8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

9 And he made the court: on the south side southward the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, an hundred cubits:

10 Their pillars were twenty, and their brasen sockets twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver.

11 And for the north side the hangings were an hundred cubits, their pillars were twenty, and their sockets of brass twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12 And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

13 And for the east side eastward fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 And for the other side of the court gate, on this hand and that hand, were hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16 All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined linen.

17 And the sockets for the pillars were of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver; and the overlaying of their chapiters of silver; and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver.

18 And the hanging for the gate of the court was needlework, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: and twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the breadth was five cubits, answerable to the hangings of the court.

19 And their pillars were four, and their sockets of brass four; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their chapiters and their fillets of silver.

20 And all the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court round about, were of brass.

21 This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

22 And Bezaleel the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.

23 And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.

24 All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

25 And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

26 A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

27 And of the hundred talents of silver were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket.

28 And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them.

29 And the brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels.

30 And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the brasen altar, and the brasen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar,

31 And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court round about.

  1. v8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglassses of the woman assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

We must be willing to submit to HIS washing . It’s a cleansing of the heart and spirit. A fresh start…. New Birth

” Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy ghost ”
    Titus 3:5

Using the Word of GOD as a search light and HIS SPIRIT will excise impurities from one’s heart and soul.
” Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”
    Psalm 119:105

Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

  2. 26 A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

For when the tabernacle was being built, everyone contributed in giving something to the building and God blessed their efforts for everyone coming together and giving. If we can do the same, God will bless our work and abundantly supply for our needs and give us the funds we need to build our new church in Jesus name!

  3. It speaks several times in this chapter of the monetary value of all the gold, silver, and brazen workings for the tabernacle. As the tabernacle was being built God laid it on the children of Israel to give, to sacrafice what they had so God’s vision could be manifest! His people needed a place to worship. How befitting it is that the POFW family are in the same opportunity. Back several chapters they gave and gave and gave until God said “ok, that’s enough”. When Bezeleel was constructing all the fixtures for the tabernacle he had everything he needed to create the best worship experience for the people. He didnt run out of resources, he didnt have to cut corners. Everything was there because the people obeyed. I fervently pray that we get back to out PROJECT PRAYER CARDS and pray over those that are struggling with a heart of sacrifice and a desire to give. Our resources will be great, our fixtures and equipment will be more than sufficient, but above all God’s vision will be mainfest and our tabernacle will be complete! Hallelujah!

  4. iLove to grow in the Word

As I was reading these scriptures, I thought…”hum, that sure sounds like a fancy tent in the desert.” Then I researched the price it would cost us if we were to build a replica today…JUST TO PAY FOR THE GOLD AND SILVER not to mention everything else that went to building the Lords sanctuary and I found the following estimate on the internet.

Hence, the gold and silver used in the Tabernacle of Moses would be worth over $13 million today. Exodus 12:35 states that the Jews were given gold, silver, and ornaments by the Egyptians at the time of the departure from Egypt. The golden lampstand in the tabernacle weighed a talent and would today be worth a half million dollars for its gold alone. A replica of this menorah is now being crafted at the Temple Institute in Jerusalem.

I’m thinking that would be a huge poster with a lot of squares.

  5. In reading this chapter, we see how even the smallest of things as the utensils (buckets, forks, etc) were made precisely as the Lord directed. We can begin to see that every detail, every part, every contribution, every offering, every sacrifice in our time, etc is important in building God’s church. This reminds me of an old Sunday School song that we taught the kids in the nursery “Building up the Temple”, they loved when we would add (substitute) their name in when we sang brother or sister:

    Building up the Temple
    Building up the Temple
Building up the Temple for the Lord

    Brother come and help me
    Sister come and help me
Building up the Temple for the Lord

  6. Proverbs 7:1 My son keep my words and lay up my commandments with thee. 2 Keep my commandments, and my law as the apple of thine eye. 3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. No matter what we are going through God’s Word will always be there for us.

  7. 8. Bezalel made the bronze washbasin and its bronze stand from bronze mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle. NLT

The women on the Hospitality Team were more interested in seeing the temple being built than they were seeing themselves in the mirror.

    I need your Glory
    I want your Glory
Less of me and more of you is what I need

  8. 21 This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

They held themselves accountable for every item used in the tabernacle. We to must be accountable for every soul that enters into our tabernacle, that is way follow-up and follow-thru is crucial. We have ensure we do our very best for that child of God to grow.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

  10. Lead us not into tempation…

I read Exodus and proverbs and thought to myself in these two chapter we find two tabernacles being built. One for the King of Kings and one for “the strange woman”

    Proverbs 7
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Each has costly materials, a sacrifice to be slaughtered, and perfumes. You see the devil desires to lead us into the temptations of this world. He wants to lead us into his kingdom

“…But deliver us from evil, for thine in the kingdom the power and the glory…”

But as people of God we understand that we are to daily cleans ourselves and be lead into His Kingdom for His glory.

So I must be very very very careful about each decision I make, each step I take, and every word I listen to because each will help me make a choice of which kingdom I will follow after and built my life in. The passions of this world or the obsessions of the eternal kingdom of God!

  11. Exodus 38:8
8 Bezalel made the bronze washbasin and its bronze stand from bronze mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

    James 1:23-25
23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

The word of the Lord is like a mirror. It reveals who we really are. When the priests washed they looked into a mirrored basin. Every imperfection, and flaw was visible. This was to keep them humble. Sometimes we need to be reminded that if it wasn’t for the blood, the cross, and HIS spirit we wouldn’t be here. This basin wasn’t the priest’s idea but God’s. In other words it was the Lord who provided a way of salvation for the people. Yet not only does the word of God show the humanity it also goes deeper and shows who we are because of the Lord. Through his word we see we are his children, and his blood bought possession. We are the apple of his eye, and his special treasure. The priests may have seen their flawed humanity but they also saw the priestly garments they wore. They were chosen for this.

  12. “Bezalel, the son of Uri, made everything the Lord had commanded Moses. Uri was the son of Hur. Bezalel was from the tribe of Judah.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭38:22‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

    Judah = Praise

Praise really matters. Praise affects everything. Praise is the driving force that makes everything happen. It affects God, the devil and those around us. And we must praise at all times. The last couple of chapters has started how willing and passionate they were to serve the Lord. Our praise should come from a passionate and willing heart.

  13. 21 This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

22 And Bezaleel the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.

I see how everyone here was a used vessel of God. There was more than enough material to build . It took Moses the man of God to get people to give and sacrifice to serve God to do his works. Lord use me to shine for you.

  14. Ex. 38:24-31

My thought on these scriptures this morning is this…
There are 3 different materials mentioned in these verses, Gold, Silver, and Brass. They each had a specific use in the building and furnishings of the sanctuary.

At POFW, Pastor has presented us with 3 areas in which to give towards the building and furnishings of the new church, IFT, Chairs, and Squares.

Let’s give MORE to finish the work and see the kingdom of God GROW!

  15. Keeping accurate records of our personal resources is a biblical principle. We have been reading about how much of this and that is being used for those and them. It is not filler. All these details are not just to make the bible a bigger book. These records are here as proof to the use of the resources; the books in other words. The purpose of bookkeeping is the monitor performance and utilization of resources.

Ecclesiasticus 14:7 “Whatever stores you issue do it by number and weight, spending and taking put everything in writing.”

2 Chronicles 24:11-12 “When the chest was taken to the royal office of control, run by the Levites, they would check the amount of money in it, then the king’s secretary would come with a representative of the chief priest; they would take up the chest and carry it away.”

If the God spends this much time and energy detailing the accountancy of the building we as saints of God would do good to ensure our personal resources are accounted for. We should know where our money is being spent. We should be able accountable for every dollar not only to our spouse/parents but to God himself. Are we good stewards over the resources which God has entrusted us with? Can we prove it?

  16. 8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

assembling (06633) = assemble, fight, perform, muster, wait upon, war. to go forth, wage war, fight, serve.

It is also used in 1 Samuel 2:22 “Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.”

Both (or one) were at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation and doing two different things. We need to check what we are doing in our position.

  17. 22 Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. (NLT)

Obedience! Is there any other way than the Lord’s way? Well yes, but that way is always more difficult and it should even pass through our minds anyway… Point is, Bezalel could have gotten lazy with the construction, or said, “You know I think this would be faster or cheaper.” The people themselves could have said, “Forget it, you’re taking everything we have.” But I thank God for another example of submission and obedience that we can follow.

  18. ALTARS DON’T HAPPEN ACCIDENTALLY

In these first 4 verses we learn of the strategic details of building and making an ALTAR. It made me think about how many times in the past 27 years that I have accidentally stumbled into intercessory prayer. I cannot recall one single time that it just happened. I recall that I have always been required to designate a time, establish a place and create an atmosphere.

GOD will not tackle us and make us pray! However he will give us opportunity to build an altar before him and lay our sacrifices before him and cast our cares on that altar.

Lets BUILD an ALTAR sometime today and everyday before the LORD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  19. 8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Like Bro. Jonson said, do you see what I see? These women saw the vison Bezalel and others had with this and they put everything else aside to work with him. Just like these women I pray we will see the vison God has gave to Pastor and we will see the growth in 2016!

  20. When I read I make pictures in my head of how things look or how they should look. As I read this chapter, I wanted to know what will all look like in feet and US dollars. After doing some research Noah give the measurement of a cubit as 20.3 inches. Mathematical scales says is 25.6 inches. I prefer to use the one from Noah since it is obvious he was a lot closer to God. If I do the correct calculations then in verse 1 the linen was 8.5 feet long. In verse 11 we are talking of 100 cubit which are equal to 169 feet. The Pillars on verse 12 are 84.6 feet. The hangings by the gate on verse 14 are 25 feet. This gives you an idea.

This show us 1 Cor 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
If we follow the price of Gold, which today is $660 per troy ounce at this price ONE TALENT = 33 KG. is worth $660,000. “Verse 24 All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.” Then the 29 talent of gold at today’s price is US $19,140,000. WE AT POFW BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS RAISING 2.5 MILLION. I pray the Lord will release the hands in our pockets and allow us to feel the PASSION that they felt while building their tabernacle. LETS GIVE WITH ALL OUR HEART, MIND, JOY, SPIRIT, TALENT, LETS GIVE IT ALL TO JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. IN JESUS NAME AMEN.

  21. Reading this chapter we see that God uses a lot of things to make the altar. In his kingdom he uses a lot of different to spread his word and work for his kingdom. We are all different but we are all working towards the same goal! So let’s go give ourselves to the working of God’s kingdom.

  22. 1 And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.

On 40 days of passion we were challenged to pray a certain amount of time. But let’s not think of it as “I have to pray because I said I would” let’s think of it as an opportunity to grow in our prayer life and our relationship with God! Each and everyday let’s build an altar of sacrifice before God! Thank you pastor for challenging us to grow!!

  23. Every body had the same vision for the tabernacle. Everybody put their money where their heart is. They all have sacrificing almost everything. Money. Time. Talent.
If you believe in the God given vision. You will support it and give.

“A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭38:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  24. Youth let’s follow Jesus cause are schools, cities are lost we are the salt and light of the world a city that can not be hidden don’t hide your light. You never know who you are impacting it can be a evangelist, missionary, a youth pastor, God has you in that place for a reason to shine your light and and show them Jesus

  25. 22 And Bezaleel the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.
23 And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.

We must be workers for Gods Kingdom.

  26. 22 And Bezaleel the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.

Obedience isn’t just listening to you mother and father its listening to God and doing what he asks you to do!!

  27. 26 A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

It’s amazing that our prayer focus today for 40 days of Passion is about finances and the this scripture is what stuck out to me. I have always been taught that a person should give a shekel (10% tithing) and a half shekel (5% offering). This allows for everyone to give the same. It didn’t matter what the person’s income was, they all gave by the same means, and this caused the needs of the sanctuary to be met.

What a principle for us. If everyone could take to heart the shekel and half shekel, the needs of the sanctuary would be met and allow us to give more to missions, reach more into the local community and do more to win the lost.

  28. The bronze basin is the symbol of sanctification. Here it is said to be made of “looking glasses” which are mirrors. Mirrors, before the invention of glass, were made of polished brass. They were given from the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle. The giving up of these mirrors could mean the giving up of ones vanity and pleasure of looking at or glorifing oneself. The Pharisees of Jesus day were hung up on washing physical hands the New Testament says (Eph. 5:25-26) that Jesus washes us through the “water of His word.” Therefore the Word of God acts as the water to wash us each day and acts also as a mirror to help us see ourselves as God really sees us, it gives us a true reflection of ourselves.

The laver must have been so brightly polished that the sides of it still served for mirrors, that the priests, when they came to wash could see their faces, and see the spots to clean. Since the priest would have just left the altar of sacrifice they would likely have “blood on their hands” they were to come to God with “clean hands and clean feet” so to speak, so a place was needed to wash between the altar of sacrifice and the entrance to the tabernacle. They would also need a place to wash coming back to the people since they would have eaten at the table of shewbread and offered incense to God on the altar of incense. You might say this basin of washing helped them both coming and going. The symbolism was powerful for the constant and frequent need of cleansing. Washing (sanctification) was a requirement of God that whenever the priest entered the tent of meeting they were first to have washed or they died! (Ex 30:20). This is still true in the spiritual sense, any service or ministry rendered for God out of impure motives/heart bring more spiritual death than it brings life! It is important to come to God with a clean hands and feet, but most of all heart!

  29. Exodus 38:18 The curtain for the entrance to the courtyard was made of blue, purole and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen the work of an embroiderer. It was twenty cubits long and like the curtains of the courtyard five cubits high with four posts and four bronze bases. Their hooks and bands were silvered their tops were overlaid with silver. All the tent pegs of the tabernacle and of the surrounding courtyard were bronze.

  30. NLT the brought special offering of gold totaling 2,193 as measured by the sanctuary shekel this gold was used thoughout the tabernacle
By reading this chapter I learn how much they careed about the property of God even though we should come as we are we. should also come like we care about house of God

  31. They bought the offering. These we’re special offerings. Many people on different sides gave different things

  32. 25 And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

Amen!!!! The great things that happen when they unite. Jesus is calling us right now to give so see what he is going to bless us with. Just like the fasting we have to see beyond the food and look at the great blessing and anointing God has for us. We have given our last penny to Jesus trusting that he will bless us and amen he has blessed us with pouring blessings. Jesus doesn’t keep anything, the more you give the more Jesus will bless you. Look beyond the material things and see the great blessings and promises God has for this church. It has been profezised that when we get to our new church we will grow but we need to sacrifice to be able to be ready for the great harvest. We need to be ready to serve them, to be able to take care of the new babies, to help people post through, and help them understand the Word of God. All God wants to give is is his outpouring love and blessings.

  33. Even the smallest roles in a church matter, we all make up a body. When we are follow God’s design and work together, then it can only go up from here.

  34. And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.

2 And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass.

I love how God made his alter specific in measurement, I’m not sure why yet, but what I do know is in every religion there is an alter of some type, and I believe that it is significant to God because there is quite a few mentions of them in the bible. One that sticks to me is Matthew 5:24..Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. God uses his alters for sacrifice, deliverance, praise. I got the Holy Ghost at the alter, and I’m taking Pastor Watts Challenge…I’m making my Alter in my home to bring my praise, burdens, sacrifices and thanksgiving, all things are possible in the presence of the all powerful, all knowing, God.

I am eating his word! To God be the Glory!

  35. 22 And Bezaleel the son Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.

  36. “And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.
The altar of burnt offering represents the cross, where the Lord Jesus offered Himself to GOD as a complete sacrifice, there can be no access to GOD apart from His sacrificial death today and the altar of burnt offering then .

  37. 8 Bezalel made the bronze washbasin and its bronze stand from bronze mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Who says that women cant help with construction. This show even women were willing to help in the construction of the Tabernacle. These women were serving God and looking to help in any way they could.

  38. This silver came from the tax collected from each man registered in the census. (The tax is one beka, which is half a shekel, based on the sanctuary shekel.) The tax was collected from 603,550 men who had reached their twentieth birthday. The hundred bases for the frames of the sanctuary walls and for the posts supporting the inner curtain required 7,500 pounds of silver, about 75 pounds for each base. The remaining 45 pounds of silver was used to make the hooks and rings and to overlay the tops of the posts.
    Exodus 38:26-28 NLT

Everything that we offer to God’s kingdom is used completely whether it be time, money, or talent. God doesnt waste anything He uses everything efficiently. So dont think what you have done or given to His kingdom isnt much, its alot more than you think.

  39. Exodus 38:8
And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

This impacted me a lot… How this serving woman which they were responsible for carraying for the tabernacle also contributed to build. This group of woman is the only group or class singled out for mention as having made a specific donation used for certain items.

I wonder why they were mention, maybe because anything that we can give regardless of our social status it can be used for the good. It doesn’t matter what we give as long as we give.

  40. In this chapter Moses carefully recorded the blueprints God gave him the design of the tabernacle and it’s furnishings. Now Moses describes the construction of the tabernacle and repeats almost word for word material in the earlier chapters. The repetition serves as a reminder. The tabernacle and the sacrifices offered there were central in Israel’s faith. They spoke then and today of worship and of access to God even for those who have sinned.

  41. 8 And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

The things brought to the temple were personal items. People were compelled to part with things of their own to build the things of God. This was a sacrifice, but they made it willingly. I think it’s neat that they chose to make the lager of water from the brass of mirrors. Something that can be considered a need but is often associated with vanity. The looking glass allowed them to look at their own outer appearance but the laver was the foreshadowing of baptism, washing away and cleansing our insides.

  42. Working together is what it’s going to take to finish the work. This is not a one man or woman job. The more hands we have working together, the more we can get done. There is a work that we must do to win our city and it’s going to take some teamwork for those who are willing to see the work complete.

  43. We are the church and we are the light! We are the salt in this world and in this hour! However when we come together into the house of God we must join in unity in what is going on. So that means when praising and worship is going on do it anyway, even if you don’t have the energy to! As bro Crockett said its going to take working together is what its going to take to finish the works. Likewise we must be personally praying daily!

  44. They have put lots of time and labour into making there altar. How are we presenting our sacrifcies to God? No we dont have to bring a burt offering to God, but we still have to make sure you come to God with a sincere heart.

  45. I was reading all the details for the Tabernacle. So precise and detailed made with the direction of Moses. I understand Moses received guidance from God. Beautiful!

  46. I’ve learned that making the court of a tabernacle, was that the altar on which the sacrificeses were made which Lev.1:9 describes as a sweet savour to the Lord. This was where the blood was sheded and the sinner was pardoned. No matter how good a person was, without the shedding of the blood of the lamb there was no forgiveness what’s so ever. Although most evangelicals would readily acknowledge the importance of the tabernacle, throughout the history of the church there’s been a little agreement concerning its interpretation. In Jesus Name!!! Amen!!!

  47. “A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.” The word of God (Jesus) said; “for every one that went to be numbered”. One should carefully consider the cost of both; being numbered, or not being numbered. Dear God, let us (me) desire to be numbered by you and not by the deceiver (satan); “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  48. “And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.” They were in their assigned place serving. A kind word and caring heart could be all it takes to help another see Jesus. God help us with willingness, in Jesus name.

  49. We’re all different people and have different things to offer to the Kingdom of God. However, we all have the same goal in mind; bring the lost to Him and build His kingdom!

We will be blessed for our sacrifice! Thank you Jesus!

  50. Moses kept an inventory of all the resources that were donated to God. It is important to know what you have and have organization.

On a side note, a half shekel was equivalent to 2 denarii in Jesus’ day. This was a yearly tax that was paid by the men in Judaism. Today it would be equivalent to $8 dollars. Taking into consideration of economic buying power, A half shekel would buy a wooden bucket or 15lbs of wheat. It would have equaled two days pay for a laborer. (1 denarii was a day’s wages.) Today, 2 denarii would be $118. Therefore, the temple tax for the men would be $118 a year.

  51. It is expensive to build an altar.

It amazes me how much money it would cost to build what is described in these passages. It also amazes me the time that they took to make sure that it was perfect. Equally amazing is the detail that went into this altar.

What does this mean about the altar?

It was intended to be beautiful, embraced, taken care of, and revered.

It means that the altar was meant to mean a great deal to the one that built it.

It meant that it was not to be cheap or second hand.

The altar has to be the most expensive thing in our lives.

The altar is worth more than anything. It is where we find real value.

    What is our salvation worth?

How much effort should we put into our altar?

A beautiful altar will cost you a lot of time. Time is the most precious of commodities because when it is spent you cannot get it back, it cannot be replicated or reproduced, It is invaluable.

    Our altar is invaluable.

it is very expensive to build an altar

  52. 39:30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the. engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

Zech.14:20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

  53. 26 A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

Every one counts in the kingdom. We can all do our part to help out and bring an offering to the temple/tabernacle of God. Dont think it insignificant cor God keeps count too.

25 And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

In spoiling Egypt, God had plans for the gold and silver they would receive. The people first made a statue to worship out of some of it while Moses was up on the mountain with God. Now they see God’s purpose and it no doubt drew a crowd to see the beauty of God’s house.
Just wait till we begin to see the inside our our church decorated with the carpet and chairs, video and audio equipment. We will be amazed at what God has seen all along! Our giving must reflect this excitement – imagine walking into our church and seeing it all put together and decorated! It will draw a crowd and people will get to see AND experience God like never before.

  56. Working to build His Kingdom!

This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest. And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses. (‭Exodus‬ ‭38‬:‭21-22‬ KJV)

The Body of POFW working together to build His Kingdom! As for me I must do and work in my talent that has been given to me from GOD! I was asked the other day’what is it that you’re afraid of?’ My response was…’commitment’ I am one of many of the ‘church’ people that has stepped back for many personal reasons. But it’s time to set that aside and work along my brothers and sisters in Christ to grow and labor all for His Kingdom. JESUS help me!!!

  57. 24 All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

One talent of gold in our time is $660,000! And a shekel $498.00 each.

That is $19,503,540 in today’s currency! Truly amazing!

  58. In this chapter they are building the altar and what stood out to me is that they checked every area. Just like they checked all areas we should do the same in our church. We shouldn’t just focus on one area of people, one area of ministry or even one area of the body. We are all important to God and we should help our brothers and sisters out in every way we can, we should help out our church in every way we can. We need to check our north side, east, west and south sides. Every area is important!

  59. We need to be more giving in the building of God’s house. Each should help in the building and give what they can. God will bless those that help in the construction of His house. These were the blueprints for the first churches and this was how God commanded that they were to be built. If we all give to His house, it will be built to all His good works. We are a strong house and will remain strong in God’s eyes as long as we do according to His word.

  60. God deserves our absolute best at all time. He gave his best to us out of love so why shouldn’t we do the same?

  61. 38:43 And Pastor Watts did look upon all the work, and ,behold, POFW had done it as the Lord had commanded, even so POFW done it: and Padtor Watts blessed them. 🙂

  62. The Altar of Whole-Burnt-Offering
(MSG) 38:1 He made the Altar of Whole-Burnt-Offering from acacia wood. He made it seven and a half feet square and four and a half feet high.
The Tabernacle was built according to the specifications of the Lord of the finest materials. God made sure to build something so pristine that we could worship in and we need to do the same.
Altar of Burnt Offering what kind of burnt offering are we bringing to Jesus lately to consecrate ourselves more and more daily to be more like our Wonderful Father, Our Counselor, Our Prince of Peace.
