Leviticus 2

1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:

3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.

6 Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.

7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lord: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.

9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.

15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.

16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

  1. Let any and all offerings be a sweet savour into the lord. We need to do this with our first fruits and any of our offerings. God is a wonderful and merciful God. He will bless those that are obedient to his word and of faith. The church needs to do this daily. We are his children and obedience is better than sacrifice. So give all to God and he will bless you abundantly… God bless and have a wonderful day everyone.

  2. In reading this chapter this morning, it reminds me that how we present or bring our offerings before the Lord is so important. The Israelites had a detailed way or manner in which to prepare these and present them to Aaron’s sons the priests so they could present them to God.

Psalm 100:2 AMP “Serve the Lord with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing.”

  3. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

God loves Flavor, and he loves salt, this verse stuck out to me because I’ve been reading Mark and in Mark 9:49..For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice seasoned with salt. 50. Salt is good but if the salt loose it’s flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another. Salt can make food taste Good or bad it depends on how much you use, if you use to much sometimes the dish can’t be eaten, but if you use the right amount, it enhances the natural flavor of the dish!

  4. 14. And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.

The small, half-grown ears were not acceptable, nor were the already dried-up brown ears; God deserves only the best!

  5. 1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour and he shall pour oil upon it and frankincense thereon 2 And he shall bring it to Aarons sons the priest :and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof and of the oil thereof with all the frankincense thereof and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the Lord: And the remnant of the meat offering shall Aaron and his sons it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

  6. This morning my part of the blog comes from today’s proverb.

    Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

A righteous man’s tree is planted beside living water. (psalm1) For he understands the source of his strength is the Lord. God makes it possible for him to live in abundance and it is a righteous man’s passion to feed life to those around him.

For a wise tree would not allow his fruit to rotten but give of its self that others may live also. Look at Jesus what if He would have not given His life for our sins? The fruit of His life would have waisted away and we would not have His blood to cover our sin.

Let’s be like Jesus and give of ourselves to the lifeless world around us. When I say lifeless I mean lacking eternal life.

  7. Leviticus 2:15
And thou shalt put oil upon it and lay frankincense thereon it is a meat offring .

We must give offering to god first and follow what god wants us to do by growing. More Jesus Amen

  8. God gives Moses rules.for.bringing different types of offerings . In Lev 2 the meal offering consist of some of these food meal offerings. Name -Grain
Contents-flour bread olive.oil and salt never with yeast.
Practice-Food prepared by offered .priest burns a.handful and keeps the rest for his food
    Significance
This voluntary offering accompanies most burnt offerings and symbolizes devotion to God.

  9. 3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

We need to give God some offerings of fire as well, aka offerings of passion and hunger to know him and follow in his steps.

  10. and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest will scoop out a handful of the flour moistened with oil, together with all the frankincense, and burn this representative portion on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. (‭Leviticus‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ NLT)

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭23-24‬ NLT)

When we truly worship GOD, it becomes a sweet Saviour unto Him, inviting His presence wherever you are! And that is exactly what He desires of us today.

  11. This chapter illustrates the use of multiple items used as offerings for the Lord. Today we too can offer multiple offerings to God, with our Praise, Fasting, Money, and Time.

Thank you Jesus for your multiple ways to be praised!

  12. “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:14

“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I am drawn to our Proverbs reading this morning. Why would a multitude be safer than one? The cliche there is safety in numbers applies. Maybe if we only ask one person for advice, likely their advice will be a product of their experiences. Maybe their experience was not good, thus their advice might be bias. However the safety of multiple points pf advice would separate bias opinions and should identify true results that will equip us to make a wise decision.

  13. Most important thing

3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

An offering, given to God but a fraction belongs to the priest. According to this verse it is Holy of the offering. So when we give for our evangelist give greatly and with a joyful heart for it is the most Holy thank you Jesus!!!

  14. 3 The rest of the grain offering will then be given to Aaron and his sons. This offering will be considered a most holy part of the special gifts presented to the Lord. (NLT)

Our offerings are special gifts to God. It’s like when a spouse buys flowers just because, or like when a kid does something extra good so they’re rewarded. Just the same way we should bring special gifts to our God. He has been SO VERY GOOD to us, if there is anyone worthy of special gifts, it’s Jesus!

  15. Let.2:1 (NLT)
“When you present grain as an offering to the LORD, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense.”

This offering was not an offering for atonement, but a symbol of thanksgiving to God for his provision.
God is our Provider and Supplier.

Phil. 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
    Thank You JESUS!

  16. iLove to grow in the Word

The aroma from the burnt offering that smelled so good to the Lord is not the same smell as one whos been on a 7 day fast walking by Saltgrass Steakhouse…The sweet savour from the fire is God smelling the clean, repented, forgiven, and obedient soul of man.

  17. The corruptive influence of a little leaven emphasis the need for churches to practice church discipline when sin becomes rampant in the lives of members of a congregation (1 Cor.5:6,7).

1 Cor. 5:6,7 Your glorying ..is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7.Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

  18. we should give gifts to God daily, and we should sacrifice daily for him, this makes us grow stronger and be a better example for his kingdom

  19. And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

    Offering by fire.

A sacrificial offering consumed by fire.
My mind goes to when Elijah went up against the prophets of Baal. When we bring our offering does God answer by fire? Is it pleasing to him or is it like Cains offering? Not the best that you have. My prayer for this year is that in all that we do that we do it with excellence.

  20. God wants our first not what we have left weather it be in tithes, fasting and prayer. If we wait and pray when we are tired and half heartily pray we are not giving God our best and our first. We have all been in this place one time or another if we are honest with our self. When we give God our first he wants us to give him or time, talent and treasures with happiness. What better way to start the day than with a talk with Jesus and your day will go so much smoother.

  21. 12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

Again we see specific instructions for offerings. Firstfruits were not burnt and the meat offerings were seasoned with salt. Bro Greene preached on the sensitivity of our senses such as taste and more which mirror God’s sensitivity. Mark 9:49-50 repeats the command to salt the sacrifice. Salt preserves, seasons and also provides a paticular chemical to the body which supports our neuro functions/transmissions in the brain. It is a basic element but an essential element. As the salt of the Earth, the church is the lifeline to this world. If we lose our savor, our connection with God, with what will we reach out with, what will we offer? Dead dry dull church with no life! We must stay connected in the spirit to offer life to this world.

  22. Leviticus 2:11 Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast for you are not to burn any yeast or honey in a food offering presented to the Lord. You may bring them to the Lord as an offering of the nfirst fruits, but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma. Season all your grain offering with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offering, add salt to all your offerings. If you bring grain offering of first fruits to the Lord offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in fire. Put oil and incense on it it is a grain offering. The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain and the oil together with all the incense as a food offering presented to the Lord.

God is a God of order every offering must be according to God’s law your first fruits are offerings and the salt, we are the salt of the world olive oil the anointing.

  23. 2and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest will scoop out a handful of the flour moistened with oil, together with all the frankincense, and burn this representative portion on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

Now this sacrifice is bloodless. Now God is telling us thank you for the blood sacrifices you have provided.

  24. SELECT DIET

7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

We learn the importance of details. The food, preparation and details in regards to offerings to the LORD are very detailed and interesting. In meditation on this chapter it reveals the importance in our generation as we make plans to bring offerings to the LORD.

The challenge of that day would be in the high price of unprepared and unplanned presentation of an offering to the LORD. It makes me consider in our day if we are prepared to offer the LORD the sacrifice of Praise, Prayer, Worship, Offering, Serving and all we offer to the LORD.

iPray the LORD help us to prepare our hearts, minds, souls and lives to bring every offering to HIM in the prepared manner that he desires, not just bring whatever to him.

    # Fried Chicken in the BIBLE
7 … a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

    • It made me think of the song MERCY SEAT. The part were says that we can come into His precence with out fear. I wonder how many times I have come into His presence unprepared and not fearing of the offering I’m giving to the Lord.

  25. 1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:
2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:
3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

When Brother Green said you can taste things in the spiritual realm, he wasn’t kidding! The Lord deserves the best. And when we bring a sacrifice, whether it be meat for a burnt offering, firstfruits, financial, of our time, treasure,or talent, or a sacrafice of praise, it needs to be bursting at the seems with flavor! Bursting with passion, with pure and true love for our Creator! Seasoned with the tears of our thanks and our repentance! When he sinks his teeth into our sacrafice it will bring a tear to his eye and warm his heart because it indulges our LORD with a sweet savour, with an enticing flavor, that we have poured ourselves into that sacrafice!

  26. “Always trest the guest first.”

WhIle sitting on my lunch break reading the passage for today a coworker came in and we talked about our church services yesterday. We exchanged stories and testimonies. She said the above quote and I feel it fit’s very well today! Guests are what make up a church. Without guests we don’t grow and if we’re not growing, what are we doing? Our guests are important to God so they should be important to us! He entrusts us with them so we should serve them with the utmost respect and servant hood!

  27. 14. And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.

  28. 8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lord: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

Amen ! Let’s bring our worries and problems to the Lord and he will burn them. He will release our problems but only if we bring them to him. Jesus is able to help us in any way if we let Him. Like Pastor said let it go and walk away. Leave everything to God and don’t worry about it again. He is God and NOTHING is impossible for Him.

  29. 2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:

  30. Leviticus 2:1-15
    The Law of Sacrife
We must give to get it right with God

GRAIN OFFERING…. means giving the best from a person’s property, in another words WE MUST offer excellent effort and service for the Kingdom of God in our Ministries. Have a Passion not only to do it but to GROW.

  31. 2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord:

3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

  32. What the lord says must be done according to his word it shows how faithful and submitted they were by following it word for word

  33. Meat-offerings may typify Christ, as presented to God for us, and as being the Bread of life to our souls. The term meat was, and still is, properly given to any kind of provision, and the greater part of this offering was to be eaten for food, not burned. Leaven is the emblem of pride, malice, and hypocrisy (1 Cor 5:8; Mark 8:15), and honey of sensual pleasure (Pr 5:3; SS 4:11). The former are directly opposed to the graces of humility, love, and sincerity, which God approves; the latter takes men from their devotion, and the practice of good works. Christ, in his character and sacrifice, was wholly free from the things denoted by leaven; and his ministry and death were the very opposites to worldly pleasure. His people are called to follow, and to be like him. Partaking of the offered grain (bread) God calls this part of the grain offering “most holy of the of the food offerings” (vs 10) because now priest becomes apart of it. When we partake of the bread of life (communion) Christ Jesus we take part of his body which was sacrficed for our salvation.

John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

  34. 12 as for the oblation of the Lord the firstfruits year shall offer them unto the Lord but shall not be burnt on the altar for sweet savour. 14 and if though offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord though shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire even con beaten out of full ears

  35. “If your offering is a grain offering baked in an oven, it must be made of choice flour, but without any yeast. It may be presented in the form of thin cakes mixed with olive oil or wafers spread with olive oil.
    Leviticus 2:4 NLT

God wants our offering to be pure and of the heart, if we add anthing else like yeast then it would corrupt our sacrifice. Yeast can easily be manipulated to do whatever you want and God doest want our offering manipulated He wants it pure.

  36. We find various types of sacrificial offerings mentioned in this chapter. God is concerned about what we sacrifice to Him and how we offer it to Him. Like Cain and Able; one sacrifice was acceptable, one took the easy way out and his offering was not accepted.

Lord let me examine everything I offer to you as a sacrifice to ensure that it will be acceptable in Your sight.

  37. 11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

The Lord requires the best of us. Nothing will fluff up the flesh will be acceptable. We must get rid of our big heads if we have one and know that we are nothing with out God. He requirea of us to be separate, to be holy.

  38. “And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lord: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.” The word of God (Jesus) said too present the offering to the priest. One that thinks the man of God is unnecessary, can explain so to the Judge (Jesus) one day. Dear God, let me never take for granted your ways; “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  39. “And when any will offer”. The offerings, preparation and ingredients had a purpose and meaning. If an offering had a process to follow, why would one think any differently of salvation? Baptism in Jesus name and the Holy Ghost, evident by speaking in tongues is a requirement; not a suggestion. God help us to understand the importance of the process, in Jesus name

  40. The grain offering was nothing like the burnt offering. The burnt offering was for the atonement of sin because blood must be shed and nothing was added to it. The grain offering was for the purpose of worship and acknowledging His provision.

  41. 13: And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant if your God to be lacking from your grain offering . With all your offerings you shall offer salt.
Salt was an old element used for preserved meat, add flavor and for the bread to add texture.
God is looking for offerings with sazon and flavor. The fruit of a hearth in love with Him.

  42. God has some really good taste! Hahahaha
He has given us a recipe for his liking. When cooking, if one follows the recipe to a t, then there are no problems. If one does not, then chaos ensues. God is clear with what He wants, and we should diligently follow his recipe.

  43. ““When you present grain as an offering to the LORD, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense, and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest will scoop out a handful of the flour moistened with oil, together with all the frankincense, and burn this representative portion on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Steps are important to basically everything. There are steps to being saved 1. Repent 2. Get baptized 3. Get the Holy Ghost, steps to being in a relationship with God such as reading the word, praying and praise. There are multiple steps not just in life but as well in church and relationship with God and through out the bible. Each step brings us closer to our goal, a better understanding or even a deeper love (ex. Relationship with God) and a better chance to grow in multiple areas.

  44. 13: And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

All the offerings of the holy gifts, which the sons of Israel offer to the LORD, I have given to you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a perpetual allotment. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD to you and your descendants with you. (Numbers 18:19) NAS

Salt was an important part of the offering because it spoke of purity, of preservation, and of expense. Every sacrifice offered to God should be pure, should be enduring, and should cost something.

  45. 9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

Part of our offering is a sweet Saviour unto The Lord. The other part is most holy unto Him…

  46. v9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

We are now spiritually the seed of Abraham , and OUR GREAT GOD DESIRES THAT WE FREELY WORSHIP HIM WITH DEVOTION AND REVERENCE. It’s a sweet savour unto the LORD.

  47. Bread is not only good for the belly but it’s good for the soul. As we learn about the type of grain and flour used in feeding the priests and given as a sacrifice, we are feeding our soul with His bread. Yum!

  48. 14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
in this verse we see the importance of bringing the first fruits of our increase unto the Lord. It is important to remember the value of giving and not just giving in general they giving the first 10% of what God has blessed us with and on top of that an offering as well.

  49. 1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

Anyrhing that we offer God should be the best that we have. If we want God to bless us and give us the best. Why do we think we can just give him just anything? We owe God our everything!

  50. “And every oblation of thy grain offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy grain offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The reason every sacrifice must have salt is because we are the salt and the light of the world. How fitting that we should be in everything that harms the Lord and He only loves us back.

  51. It’s the will of God that we offer him our first fruits and glorify him for his good works. All belongs to the Lord, giving him what belongs to him first fruit is obedience and pleasing to the Lord.

  52. “” ‘He must take it to the priests who are in Aaron’s family line. A priest must take a handful of the fine flour and oil. He must mix it with all of the incense. Then he must burn that part on the altar. It will be a reminder that all good things come from the Lord. It is an offering that is made with fire. It gives a smell that is pleasant to the Lord. ” ‘The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and to the priests who are in his family line. It is a very holy part of the offerings that are made to the Lord with fire.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:2-3‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Even their offerings were divided up…. A portion was the lords and the other half was Aaron and the priest who were in his family line. Just as we have tithes and offering, IFT, missions, children’s, music…. So thankful to still be able to practice this principle.

  53. Again God gives specific instructions on Grain-Offerings as He did before with Burnt-offerings, complete the work that is done that God gives you and do it to his precise order, don’t change it up from how He wants it done. Do everything that is pleasing to Him and only Him.
    Thank you Jesus!

  54. (Not sure why I did it but didn’t post it yesterday)

    Leviticus 2:1-2

    Procedures for the Grain Offering

1 “When you present grain as an offering to the Lord, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense, 2 and bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. The priest will scoop out a handful of the flour moistened with oil, together with all the frankincense, and burn this representative portion on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

When we give our offerings to the Lord we understand that this is above and beyond our tithe. This is the portion that God blesses. Just like the grain offerings were mixed with oil so our offerings need to be saturated with the oil of prayer. Perhaps the reason we don’t receive great return on our giving is because we don’t pour our prayers into it.

  55. The first chicken fried steak!

7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

I can’t believe this didn’t post yesterday. I had it all ready. I had a great point but lost it. Lesson learned! Copy and paste your blog to your notes before you press done, just in case.

  56. “As for the offering of the firstfruits, you shall offer them to the LORD, but they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet aroma.”(‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

The firstfruits was a Jewish feast held in the early spring at the beginning of the grain harvest. It was observed on Nissan 16, which was the third day after Passover and the second day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The firstfruits was a time of thanksgiving for God’s provision. No grain was to be harvested at all until the firstfruits offering was brought to the Lord (Leviticus 23:14). The offering was made in remembrance of Israel’s sojourn in Egypt, the Lord’s deliverance from slavery, and their possession of “a land that floweth with milk and honey.”
