Leviticus 10

1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

5 So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.

6 And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled.

7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying,

9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

12 And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:

13 And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the Lord made by fire: for so I am commanded.

14 And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.

15 The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the Lord; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as the Lord hath commanded.

16 And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,

17 Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?

18 Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.

19 And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?

20 And when Moses heard that, he was content.

  1. In reading this chapter we see how important obedience is and staying under the commandments of God. Some want to venture out on their own thoughts and will; without praying and asking the Lord for His guidance. In growing up as a PK, I unfortunately saw and experienced the pain of someone saying that had been called by God; when in fact the end result and devastation that they left behind showed otherwise. Let us pray and follow Jesus as your actions/decisions will not only affect you but all those around you.

  2. 3. Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke: ‘Among the ones close to me I will show myself holy, and in the presence of all the people I will be honored.'” So Aaron kept silent. NET

    God is holy, and will be honored; therefore, His house is holy and is to be honored as well. When we treat Him or His house with less than the utmost respect, we can find ourselves in serious trouble. In these scriptures He is showing us how important this is to Him…do this right, or there will be consequences.

  3. iLove to grow in the Word

    “Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD meant when he said, ‘I will display my holiness through those who come near me. I will display my glory before all the people.’” And Aaron was silent.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭10:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    The closer that The Pentecostals of Fort Worth get to Gods holiness, the faster that judgement comes to destroy sin. Signs, wonders, and miracles will come but the leadership must be strong in obedience and submitted under authority.

  4. 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    He had called his people to be ye separate in all things.

  5. Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.
    2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    Offering strange praises.
    We always say make sure that your praise is praising God. But this goes to show how serious it is. The outside- the censor can look the same. We can look like we are the same old person and act like the same person ever one knows. But God knows the what’s inside. Where the fire truly comes from. Take your fire from the alter.

  6. And Nadab and Abihu the son of Aaron took either of his censer and put fire therein and put incense thereon and offered strange fire before the Lord which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

  7. Leviticus 10:20
    And when Moses heard that he was contact.

    We must be in contact when someone is talking about God that is how we grow with Jesus. Grow with Jesus Amen

  8. In verses 1-5 we see just how important obedience is. Disobedience to the word and man of God is just as dangerous as these scriptures show.

  9. 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    That’s right that you may put a difference between holy and unholy, clean and unclean, pure and unpure….Jesus is the only one that is holy for therefore we should be holy like His Word says. Jesus give us the wisdom and knowledge to be just like you Jesus so we can grow your kingdom. Either were working for Jesus or the devil. I have my mind made up to follow Jesus….. I can do all things thru Him because I am a champion!!!!

  10. Obedience unto GOD will keep you Alive!!

    That same day Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, took their censers, put hot coals and incense in them, and offered “strange” fire to GOD —something GOD had not commanded. Fire blazed out from GOD and consumed them—they died in GOD’ s presence.

    Moses said to Aaron, “This is what GOD meant when he said, To the one who comes near me, I will show myself holy; Before all the people, I will show my glory.” Aaron was silent. (‭Leviticus‬ ‭10‬:‭1-3‬ MSG)

    Obedience brings forth life. And as for me that’s exactly how I want to keep it. There is order to His word in the word, and it is up to us to reverence what the LORD is saying and teaching us (His children).

    Keep the rules and keep your life; careless living kills. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭16‬ MSG)

  11. 3 Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: “‘Among those who approach me; I will be proved holy;
    in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’” Aaron remained silent
    19 Aaron replied to Moses, “Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?”

    God is an all knowing God! Why would we lie to ourself and others saying we are somthing we aren’t, like Aaron’s sons they probably had to lie to get the sources to start the fire saying its a holy fire for God. In the end God knew that wasn’t true but he does know what was true! God knows who we really are when we go give our offering and Aaron knew this so he thought why was he going to go and be somthing he knows he’s not! He was true to himself and true to God and when he told Moses this, Moses was satisfied. Just like God would be satisfied when we open our eyes and see as Aaron saw, our true self, the person that God sees.

  12. 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    To live for the most Holiest God we must live a separated life, a life different from that of this world! Lord purify my heart that I would live a clean and holy life before you!

  13. God is holy, and will be honored; therefore, His house is holy and is to be honored as well. When we treat Him or His house with less than the utmost respect, we can find ourselves in serious trouble. In these scriptures He is showing us how important this is to Him…do this right, or there will be consequences.

  14. 7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

  15. THE HIGH COST OF DOING IT YOUR WAY

    A reoccuring lesson we find throughout time and illustrated in the WORD of GOD is the danger of doing GOD’s business the way we desire instead of the way we are led.

    There are many ways to accomplish a task, however there are not many correct ways to accomplish them. The grave danger in disregarding GOD ordained Leadership is that as the Leader obeys GOD, he is the voice for GOD. (See verse 3) Moses was the voice for GOD to the people with instructions and with judgement.

    The LORD will judge false worship. Nadab and Abihu took their own censer, it was theirs, it was not the LORDs. GOD answered their strange fire with real FIRE.

    STRANGE – 2114. zoor; a primitive root; to turn aside (especially for lodging); hence to be a foreigner, strange, profane; specifically (active participle) to commit adultery:—(come from) another (man, place), fanner, go away, (e-)strange(-r, thing, woman).

    Nadab and Abihu had appeared to be offering worship to GOD, but their hearts were on an idol.

    PASSION in WORSHIP = FOCUSED in WORSHIP = GROW

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGrow

  16. 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

    2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    They offered strange fire unto the Lord and the Lord judged it and they died. This is why having a clean repented heart and offering true praise and worship to the Lord is so important.

    If we are praising/worshipping the Lord and our mind is elsewhere thinking about other things i.e. our day, tomorrow, sports, school we are really offering strange fire, because we not focused on what the Lord. Another example would be if we have taken the path of least resistance and have picked up things that the Lord has called unclean or let go of something that the Lord called necessary but we come up in the church like we are all holy and righteous, we are offering strange fire unto the Lord, because we are pretending everything is ok, when we know in our hearts what He has commanded in His word.

    God has been a merciful God and not judged us like He did the sons of Aaron where we are consumed with fire and die right there. However, we cannot think we are getting away with it because judgement is coming.

  17. Unauthorized Fire

    Aaron’s sons offered up an “unauthorized fire” before the Lord so fire came and consumed them. The Lord gives a response to the death of Aaron’s sons that among those who approach him that he will be proven holy, and everyone is to recognize that I he is to be honored. He tells Aaron not to mourn for the death of his sons nor leave the tent of meeting. Translation: Don’t get upset and don’t storm off. I am not a mother but, I ask myself, could I have done this? Could I have stayed in silent submission while the rest of the people mourn? In result God says that the priests are no longer allowed to have wine, or they will die. Was the wine to blame for Aaron’s sons disobedience and death? Its possible because under the influence following directions like specific instructions for offering incense becomes a challenge. How can we approach a holy God drunk on self? They need to distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean (vs 10). His command was to be an example and to teach the Isrealites the difference. The fire God is looking for in us is a Holy Ghost fire burning ablaze with reverence, passion and submission.

  18. 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

    2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    As I was reading it occurred to me the strange fire could mean, God told us to do it one way, but we chose to do it our own way. I’m guilty if at times getting impatient and thinking that my way if doing things is best because I’ve always done it that way. But I neglect to realize that my way never works. The hardest thing is submission, oh Lord knows I get Impatient and I have to fight my flesh because it thinks it knows it all, If I only trust in God, and realize that my way is not the way to go, But God’s way, no stress, no mistakes, cause if I do God’s plan it’s done right the first time. AND as for my flesh, it’s only skin, it has no power.
    Growing in Submission, Passion,word

  19. 8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying,
    9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
    10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
    11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

  20. Leviticus 10:7

    7 But you must not leave the entrance of the Tabernacle or you will die, for you have been anointed with the Lord’s anointing oil.” So they did as Moses commanded.

    Sometimes leadership is hard. God asks us to things that can go against our hearts, feelings, and emotions.

    Luke 9:59-60

    59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

    60 — Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

    God does care about our grief and feelings of loss. Yet he does not want us to mourn at the expense of his kingdom. There is a time and place for everything but had Aaron and his sons mourned it would have affected the children of Israel negatively and caused rebellion against God.

  21. Holy and unholy
    Right and wrong
    Clean and unclean

    10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    Are we born with a sense of good and evil, right and wrong or clean and unclean? Those of us who have had contact with young children who are learning the skill to communicate know that children lie. They do not have to be taught; so is it part of being human, the ability to be dishonest? I believe so. As a parent I can remember some of my children’s first fibs. Who ate the last cookie? Who broke the lamp? Did you clean your room? Have you brushed your teeth?

    As an adult we are presented with opportunities to communicate with people who lie more than tell the truth; some for no apparent reason. As Christians we need the skill to discern the truth and discern the ability to help those who are not being truthful with us and themselves. Some people get upset when confronted about their honesty while others are more open and apologetic.

  22. 6 And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled.

    7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

    Moses had strict instructions to give to Aaron, that came directly from God. Aaron the priest was anointed with oil and Moses told him not to step out of the Tabernacle because he was anointed with oil of the Lord. Aaron knew his honoring the Lord and following his commands was what he had to do regardless of his sons death. When doing the work of the Lord we submit not only to God but to the man of God. No matter the situation make God first.

  23. Leviticus 10:1 Aaron’s sons Nadal and Abihu took their censers put fire on them and added incense and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consume them and they died before the Lord. Moses then said to Aaron this is what the Lord spoke of when he said. Among those who approach me I will proved holy in side of all the people I will be honored. Aaron remain silent. Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan sons of Aaron uncle Uzziel and said to them. Come here carry Your cousins outside the camp away from the front of the sanctuary so they came and carried them still in there to tunics outside the camp is Moses ordered.

    Deuteronomy 4:24 for the Lord our God is a consuming fire even a jealous God.
    Let us be held to out duty by the bonds of love, and prevailed with the mercies fd God to cleave to him.

  24. 8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying,

    9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

    10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

    Leaders/ministers of the Lord must live their lives as an example. You must first lead yourself that then you can teach and lead others too.

  25. NLT) 1 Aron’so sons and about and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over them in this way they disobeyed the Lord by burning before him the wrong kind of fire different than he had commanded(2) so fire blazed forth from the Lord presence and burned them up and they died there before the Lord

    Obey god and let him teach us and lead us and obeying the man of God help us to have a better relationship with God

  26. Lev. 10:7
    “And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.”

    After the tragic deaths of Aaron’s two sons, Nadab and Ibihu, Aaron and his two other sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, obeyed Moses and stayed in the tabernacle (the church) under the anointing.

    To many times we see people come to church, and when tragedy, circumstances, and situations happen, the first thing they do is blame God, then leave the church, and die spiritually.

    So no matter what happens in your life, cling to God, listen to the man of God (Pastor), stay in church, and stay under the anointing.

  27. 3 Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD meant when he said,
    ‘I will display my holiness through those who come near me. I will display my glory before all the people.’”

    The sons took matters into their own hands, believing they could start a fire their way. They disobeyed God, instead of following instructions. We all have a tendency to take the short cut and try to fix something quickly, but in the end, we end up starting over and taking twice as long to fix or put something together. We should have just followed the instructions and avoided the headaches and frustration.

  28. 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

    We must understand that living a holy and seperate life from the people of this world is not just for our own well-being, but it is also for the well-being of others as well. Other people, believers and non-belivers alike look at us and when they know which God we serve, they will look at us as examples on how to live for God. So if we seperate ourselves and live a holy life, then we draw people closer to God. But if we live in sin and decide to be apart of this world, then we will draw people away from God.

    And one of the best examples of this is our children. Our children will follow our example, whether as parents or as teachers, or even you’re just a friend to a child, they will look to you as their example. So are you gonna lead them to the cross with your actions? Or are you gonna lead them into a live of sin and rebellion?

  29. 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

    2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    you cannot play with God God is serious about our sacrifice of praise and worship to him. we should live our lives that allow us to be able to go before the throne of God with boldness and seek forgiveness for our sins.

  30. God Will Be Glorified

    Leviticus 10:7 And you shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die: for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

    Even in a time of great calamity, the priest of the Lord must set an example to the nation of strict obedience to the will of God: and you shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle…… less you die(v.7) Nothing must be allowed to interfere with the work of the ministry.

  31. Aron’s sons Nada and About offer incense that has not been kindled from the altar supernatural fire consumes them. Priest who’s.duty is to guard the holiness of the nation must show themselves holy by strict obedience to God’s Word. Aaron and his remaining Sons.are not.to.allow to engage in traditions mourning rites but.are to go about their duties.
    Aid who approach Hindustan honor Him by obeying

  32. 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

    my Lord my God thank you for still burning.

  33. Leviticus 5:17-18Living Bible (TLB)

    17-18 “Anyone who disobeys some law of God without realizing it is guilty anyway, and must bring his sacrifice of a value determined by Moses. This sacrifice shall be a ram without blemish taken to the priest as a guilt offering; with it the priest shall make atonement for him, so that he will be forgiven for whatever it is he has done without realizing it.
    Thank God for his blood. This why we need to make sure we repent everyday. It doesnt matter what position you may hold but if you do not repent as you are comanded to do we are sinners in the eyes of God. Its is very important to ask God to show us whats in our hearts,or show us what wrong we have done. Dont wait till judgement day repent now! REPENT, REPENT REPENT!

  34. And Aaron said to Mosses : If I had eaten the sin offering today , would it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?
    I read this verse several times and that reminds me when we bring our offerings( prayers, sings, dance or money) with not a heart clean, because God is a great God and worthy God.
    The sons of Aaron were burnt in the same moment of the sacrifice. God is a God to be fear and respected. In Jesus name!

  35. 12 And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:

    13 And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the Lord made by fire: for so I am commanded.

    14 And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.

    See that is what I’m talking about. The more obedient we are, the more God will bless us. Step out of obedience and see how God will chasten you. Always let his glory come before yours. Those that step away will reap what they sow. Those that stay will reap the glory of the kingdom. Our treasures are not here, but laid in heaven. Last thing I want to hear is I Know Ye Not. I want to hear well done, well done. This is God showing how quickly He can remove or restore favor to his children. It is time to grow up and put away childish things. I want to grow in the glory of God, not in the glory of man. Yes there are things we need and God will provide the way to get them. The other things God will grant us as we show obedience. There it is be obedient or not, see what God does in both situations. Have a blessed day!!!

  36. “And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled.” They were warned, what would be, if they did not obey. One may think it was cruel, however one should first remember there is a price, and a day of reconciliation for disobedience. Dear God, thank you for grace and mercy, and help us (me) with obedience to your word; “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  37. 19 And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord? 20 And when Moses heard that, he was content. Moses not only listened, but he also heard what Aaron said. There is a difference between listening and hearing, which we all should be willing to hear; especially if it is from the Lord. God help us too not only hear but too truly listen, in Jesus name.

  38. “Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over them. In this way, they disobeyed the LORD by burning before him the wrong kind of fire, different than he had commanded. So fire blazed forth from the LORD’s presence and burned them up, and they died there before the LORD.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭10:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    We all have a fire in us, but when we get into things we should and we allow sin, gossiping and other things in that’s when our fire changes. But thank God that if we do these things He doesn’t instantly barbecue us. However, that doesn’t give us the right to slack off in any way. We must stand strong in the word, our prayer life and this will build not only our relationship but keep our fire strong and have the correct aroma that God loves

  39. A brothers heart

    The law was not broken here. Nose had compassion on his brother. The Lord came and said I am not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Love God and your neighbor which includes your brother. All the other commandments hinge on these. Let us see our brothers heart and lift them up in a time of need. Don’t throw the bible at folks that are hurting. You have to love them first.

  40. And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?
    20 And when Moses heard that, he was content.

    The cost of ministry
    In this case ministry cost Aaron his sons. They did not follow the commands of the Lord and they died. This was a costly mistake for them, their family, and the rest of the people. Serving the Lord will cost something. Sometimes it just costs our time and efforts. Other times it costs more than we imagine. Aaron and the ministry he fulfilled kept his nations people right in the site of God because they continued with their commitments even after devistation.

    He question is, are we ready to pay the high price of ministry?

  41. 9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

    10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

  42. “And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” So Aaron held his peace.”(Leviticus‬ ‭10:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

    Rather, I will sanctify myself in them that come near to me (i. e. the priests), and I will glorify myself before all the people. Aaron’s silence (compare Psalm 39:9) on this occasion may be compared with his reasonable and natural expostulation with Moses when his surviving sons were rebuked for not having eaten the flesh of the sin-offering Leviticus 10:19.The most quieting considerations under affliction are fetched from the word of God. What was it that God spake? Though Aaron’s heart must have been filled with anguish and dismay, yet with silent submission he revered the justice of the stroke. When God corrects us or ours for sin, it is our duty to accept the punishment, and say, It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth him good. In Jesus Name !!!

  43. “Nadab and Abihu were two of Aaron’s sons. They got their shallow cups for burning incense. They put fire in them. They added incense to it. They made an offering to the Lord by using fire that wasn’t allowed. They did it against his command. So the Lord sent fire on them. It burned them up. They died in front of the Lord.”

    We can’t be half hearted or take short cuts when it comes to the kingdom of God.

  44. GOD desires we worship HIM in Spirit and in truth. Our worship to GOD involves every area of our lives and help us us grow spiritually .

    v2 And there went out fire from the LORD , and devoured them, and they died before the LORD

  45. “That same day Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, took their censers, put hot coals and incense in them, and offered “strange” fire to GOD —something GOD had not commanded. Fire blazed out from GOD and consumed them—they died in GOD’ s presence.”

    Obey the instructions that are given to you. God wanted things done a specific way. Don’t think your ways are better than his.

  46. Leviticus 10English Standard Version (ESV) 16-20
    The Death of Nadab and Abihu
    16 Now Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and behold, it was burned up! And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the surviving sons of Aaron, saying, 17 “Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is a thing most holy and has been given to you that you may bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord? 18 Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary. You certainly ought to have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.” 19 And Aaron said to Moses, “Behold, today they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, and yet such things as these have happened to me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would the Lord have approved?” 20 And when Moses heard that, he approved.

    James 1:2-3 MSG
    [ Faith Under Pressure ] Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

  47. Glory Revealed

    We cannot try to warp God’s plan for ministry. If we try to inject our own ideas and opinions into His blueprint, we will get much more than we bargained for. It is a dangerous thing to misuse a position of ministry and try to operate in a way in which He did not command. No matter how much we may feel that we’re “doing a good thing in the Kingdom,” if His Word and pattern for ministry does not support it, then we are offering strange fire before Him and endangering both ourselves and those who may try to follow after us in our ways. Saul thought to try to breach the rightful office of Samuel in offering sacrifice and as a result he was rejected; in the same way, it doesn’t matter who we are (even if we have the correct title,) if we do not follow God’s blueprint then we are stepping over the office of ministry and offering that which we should not. The place of ministry is to be pure and God will sanctify Himself in those who are before Him, either through the fire of His Spirit or through the fire of judgment.

    John 21:17
    17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

  48. Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over them. In this way, they disobeyed the Lord by burning before him the wrong kind of fire, different than he had commanded. So fire blazed forth from the Lord ’s presence and burned them up, and they died there before the Lord .
    Leviticus 10:1-2 NLT

    Yes the Lord is full of love and I’m glad that we live in this time of grace because if not all of us would have been consumed with fire because God also gets angry. We should also realize that we should be obediant to the Lord and His commandments because there is still consequences for our disobedience.

  49. 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

    2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    Playing Church

    Are you playing church? There deceit in thinking that just because we are sin and God still “uses” us at times, that everything is alright. When we are beyond wrong, we deceive ourselves just like the churches of the book Revelation.

    We need to repent before God and seek his face.

  50. Leviticus 10:10 -11
    And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

    11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
