Leviticus 11

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

15 Every raven after his kind;

16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.

36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

  1. Lev. 11:43-45 (NLT)
    43) Do not defile yourselves by touching them. You must not make yourselves ceremonially unclean because of them.
    44) For I am the LORD your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.
    45) For I, the LORD, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy.

These scriptures brought other scriptures to mind this morning.
    2 Cor. 6:17-18 & 2 Cor. 7:1 & 1 Peter 1:15-16 (NLT)
    2 Cor. 6:17-18
    17) Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and seperate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.
    18) And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.
    2 Cor. 7:1
    1) Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
    1 Peter 1:15-16
    15) But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
    16) For the scriptures say, you must be holy because I am holy.

    GROW in Holiness!

  2. Verses 44-45 MSG “Make yourselves holy for I am holy. Don’t make yourselves ritually unclean by any creature that crawls on the ground. I am God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Be holy because I am holy.” Same verses AMP “For I am the Lord your God; so consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not make yourselves unclean with any of the swarming things that swarm or crawls on the ground. For I am the Lord who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God; therefore you shall be holy, for I am holy.’” It all comes down to obedience once again between permitted and forbidden. You can tell someone not to do something and the immediate response or thought is “why not?”. They even seem to gravitate to the forbidden sometimes; but, the Lord placed laws for there to be no question. So, obedience once again is key in being holy, for He is holy.

  3. Not only were they not allowed to eat certain things, they weren’t allowed to even touch them – we should practice that same idea today…don’t just choose not to participate in sin, but stay far away from it so we can’t touch it and it can’t touch us.

  4. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

    1Peter1:15-16
15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

God called us to be separate, He called us to be holy. We wee made in His image. We were meant to be a holy people, in everything we do.

    Deuteronomy 28:9
The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

    Isaiah 62:12
And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

  5. 36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

The water is clean until something dead touches it. Our bodies are made up of 90% water, so if we touch that is not living (not of Christ), then we become unclean, or unholy as well. Don’t let the dead things touch your water given to by God.

  6. Keep your dead stuff away from the seed!

37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

Pastor Foster preached a powerful message Sunday night. We are Champions! There are a few distinct characteristics about championship that the average person seems to lack. I only want to talk about one… Passion!

It is that deep drive inside of theme that says I will not give up! Regardless of my surroundings, my feelings, and who’s no longer with me “I will not give up.”

You see during our 7 day fast we killed our flesh so that we could become more sensitive to the spirit of God. Now it would be easy to say I made it through the 7 days and I’m 15 days into 40 Days of Passion so I’ve ran well. I can slack on my commitments but We are Champions and championsee don’t quit!

We cannot allow things that are suppose to be dead to touch the seed that was planted during the week of consecration. Dead stuff like our flesh, noncommitment, rebellion, etc doesn’t belong in this season of “Growth”

So, I encourage you to leave the dead stuff alone and protect the seed of faithfulness to:

  7. iLove to eat the Word

Let’s apply this to impact our lives in the spirit realm. We must not defile the inside man with the uncleanliness of this world. The Word of God is the clean water that refreshes our souls. Let’s stay clean and not feed on negativity. 😃

  8. God’s word gives instructions on what to eat to preserve our body. His word also gives us instruction to preserve our soul. What we take in either kills us or sustains us whether our body, mind or soul.

  9. Leviticus 11:30
And the ferret and the chameleon and the lizard and the snail and the mole.

We must follow the law of God. Grow with Jesus Amen

  10. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

My GOD IS GREAT!I! HIS LOVE IS UNFAILING!!!
Now who said that we should eat whatever we want cause GOD doesn’t care what we eat???

  11. 45 For I, the Lord, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy. (NLT)

This chapter is full of do’s and don’ts, and depending on how you view it effects your attitude if you chose following them or not. We can be the “glass half empty” person and be frustrated with a whole bunch of rules, or we can be the “glass half full” kind of person. Instead of rules, we see opportunities, more ways to please God and separate ourselves. We should want to follow His word because we want to, because we want to please Him and because we want to be holy and separated as He called us to be like Him.

  12. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Everyday we should strive to be holy. Another battle rises with each day. God has given us power as his children to overcome all things. No matter how big the obstacle looks our God is bigger. There is no need for us to worry if we’re goingto make it through as long as we trust in the Lord and do what his word says we win.

  13. Here Moses lists criteria for distinguish between clean and unclean animal .Only clean animals were to.be.eaten by God’s old testimony people OT offered a sacrifice.

Keeping laws of ritual cleanness was an expression of consecration to God.

  14. The word “unclean” was used 25 times in this chapter.

Must be pretty important to not touch the unclean.

  15. THE LAW SEPARATES

46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

Our FATHER in creation GOD has the authority to define HIS creation. In HIS definition, GOD distinctively set in place the HOLY or separated, defined by the clean and unclean.

GOD reveals the value of holiness here in this chapter, by identifying that even the food we eat is important to HIM.

The lesson today is that we should seek the LORD in everything we do, even to the meals we are BLESSED to eat.

  16. Not too spiritual this morning…

What a difference between our day and days of Moses. It was not ok to eat swine but good to eat locust and grasshoppers. Now I can admit swine meats are generally not the healthiest of choices. Most of the various cuts of pig are high in fat and bad cholesterol. Commercial pig farms are some of the most disgusting places and the animals are living way beyond the means in which God intended; however, that can be said for any commercial food animal: chicken, cow, catfish, etc…

So, what’s in a bug? According to a few websites, grasshoppers are high in protein and low in cholesterol. The UN states grasshoppers are “critters that are simple to cook, and especially tasty when roasted and seasoned with onion, garlic, chili or soy sauce.”

Having been raised on a farm, where I know where the food eats and sleeps, (cow, pig, chicken, deer, turkey, etc…) I just don’t think I will be first in line to start eating grasshoppers. Think of it for a moment. Waking up from a very restful sleep to the smell of fresh coffee brewing and bacon frying!! Or would you rather hear the grinding-chirp of your breakfast outside your window eating the grass?? I will stick with my bacon for now.

  17. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

  18. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Everything about God’s nature is holy and He expects us to present ourselves to Him in a holy manner and fashion as well, even down to what goes into our temple as far as nutrition. To think that our natural nutrition is so important to Him to mention in His Word, how much more is He concerned about our spiritual nutrition. It is what goes into a man that defileth him, so let’s be just as cautious what we are feeding our spiritual man. If something we are digesting each day is not propelling us to be champions and live victoriously, perhaps we should cut it from our daily diet.

  19. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

  20. Thank God the blood washes us clean immediately when applied! When our uncleannes was left to us it took time. I’m thankful for the blood of Jesus!

  21. Be ye holy for he is holy. Thank you Jesus for your grace and mercy that has made all things clean. When washed in His blood we can and are clean.

  22. Leviticus 11:43

43 Do not defile yourselves by touching them. You must not make yourselves ceremonially unclean because of them.

Historians clash on the “why” God chose some animals to be clean and some unclean. It could be the character and behavior of the animal. It could be the health concerns for not cooking thoroughly. Or it could be that these animals were worshipped by Pagan religions.

Whatever the case there is two commonalities that can be agreed upon. This kept Israel healthy and physically fit. This also ensured a distinction and separation between the heathen and Israel.

God chose them to be stuck out like a sore thumb so that folks would look at them and pay attention to God’s people.

This is much of the reason we have holiness standards of separation. It sets us apart so that people will look at us and by doing so they will see Jesus!

  23. Be ye Holy.

For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. (‭Leviticus‬ ‭11‬:‭44-45‬ KJV)

  24. Today we live in a world filled with unclean things, and as Christians we have the choice to pertake or not to pertake in it. But not only should we stay away from sin and unclean things but not even come close to it, and live a totally separated life. One of the many things I learned at nayc was when we separate ourselves from this world we are not only doing that but we are being separated unto God. So we are to turn away from sin and commit to God, no matter the circumstances!!

  25. 43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

God expects us to be Holy like him because he loves us. We are his children and is teaching us that what we consume and come in contact with isn’t always holy nor pleasing to him. God wants us to honor him and he expects complete holiness from us by obeying his commandments and staying away from sin, to make a difference, God wants us to make him first and honor him by pleasing him in obedience.

  26. 44 For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.NLT

We need to be holy not just because it’s what the bible says, but because it’s what we want to be!!

  27. 47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

to make the difference between good and evil, unclean and clean, pure and not pure. there is no in-between for God, you must be black or white. Gray is an abomination to God.

  28. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

I’m thankful that God brought me out of Egypt, because that lifestyle was surly not holy. I desire holyness, I desire to do whatever it takes to please God! So if I carry an outward impression of holyness, but not living a holy lifestyle, I’m not pleasing God, But if my expression of holyness is both in and out then God is pleased, and cold people will be drawn to the heat, because I beleive that Holyness requires passion. I hope that if I say something that’s wrong on here someone will correct me. Amen

  29. 13“These are the birds that are detestable to you. You must never eat them: the griffon vulture, the bearded vulture, the black vulture, 14 the kite, falcons of all kinds, 15 ravens of all kinds, 16 the eagle owl, the short-eared owl, the seagull, hawks of all kinds, 17 the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl, 18 the barn owl, the desert owl, the Egyptian vulture, 19 the stork, herons of all kinds, the hoopoe, and the bat.

What do these birds have in common, they are all predators/scavengers. They will eat anything that is dead (road kill). It does not matter what kind of animal is dead, these birds will eat it. God does not want this for his people, we are to cleanse and cook our foods.

Spiritually, we should stay away from dead things, they do not help us to grow in Christ. We should seek things that are ALIVE, they will mature us, make us grow, and give us passion for Christ.

  30. The way to handle unclean and clean animals and practices are mentioned here. God is changing their current practice of eating and cleanliness. They may not understand why but God is saying “For I am the LORD your God” (vs 44): God claims the right to speak to every area of our life, including food. He had the right to tell Israel what to eat and what not to eat in a call to live a sanctified lifestyle (vs 44), to set them apart from other nations. It made fellowship with those who did not serve God far more difficult. This will keep them from defile themselves (vs 44) because not only did unclean animals defile one spiritually, but there was also a hygienic defilement, and Israel was spared many diseases and plagues because of their kosher diet. Among the animals, most considered unclean fell into one of three categories: Predators (they ate both the flesh and the blood of animals), scavengers (carriers of disease and had contact with dead bodies), or potentially poisonous or dangerous foods such as shellfish and the like. Eliminating these from the diet of Israel seems to protect them.

Jesus, in Mark 7:15 explains that it’s not just a tradition to be clean but a matter of the heart. “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man” that the Pharisees concerned with washing hands under this tradition “honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.” (Mar 7:6). Upholding these practices of sanctification and keeping from defilement just becomes a list of rules and traditions if the heart of the person is away from God.

  31. Acts 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: 10And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Thankful for Jesus Lesson of showing that what He cleanses stays clean in the same manner Gentiles were able to receive the truth, The Holy Ghost, and be Baptized in Jesus Name for what He cleansed stays clean!!!!! Thank you Jesus for you came not to void the covenant but to fulfill it.

  32. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

  33. Leviticus 11:43 Do not define yourself by any of these creatures. Do not make yourself unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. I am THE LORD your God consecrate yourself and be holy because I am holy. Do not make yourself unclean by any creature that moves along the ground. I am the Lord who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God therefore be holy because I am holy.

  34. “You must be able to tell the difference between what is “clean” and what is not. You must also be able to tell the difference between the living creatures that can be eaten and those that can’t.’ “”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭11:47‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Lord, open my understanding to know the unclean in my life so that I can become clean.

  35. 43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

It is a very important thing for us to be holy. The Lord states clear that he wants to have a distinction

  36. 44)for I am the Lord your God years shall therefore sanctify yourselves and ye shall be holy for I am holy neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepethe upon the earth 45)for I am the Lord that bring the you up out of the land of Egypt to be your god year shall therefore be holy for I am holy

  37. Leviticus 11:45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the Land of Egypt,to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Psalm 105:43-45 And he brought forth his people with joy,and his chosen with gladness: And gave them the lands of the heathen : and they inherited the labour of the people; 45.That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws.Praise ye the Lord.

  38. God gave instructions to the Israelites to keep the temple of God clean ( the body) those rules were sanitizing for their own good.
Several food are bad for our body, like shrimp that is the cleaner of the sea and is high in cholesterol.
Our Lord show to Peter that He already sanctify the food, all kind of animals. But I was paying attention when we read in Lev. 11; said for the prohibited food said it was unclean, but when referring to the animals that creep on the earth He said it was an abomination. Genesis 3:14,15.
I do not like to try exotic food!

  39. For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.
    Leviticus 11:44 NLT

If you dont have any other reason to consecrate and be holy the Lord says just because HE IS LORD! The fact is that we should all strive to be Holy and stay clean.

  40. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
God wants to clear communication And clear difference between the righteous and the unrighteous the holy and the profane. He is so particular about it that he even gave specific instructions to the children of Israel of what to eat and what not to eat Clean and unclean. It is our job to stay separated in our lives from ungodliness and stay close to God.

  41. v45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your GOD : ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

GOD IS HOLY and we should carefully protect HIS presence in our lives.
    How ??? I’m glad you asked .
By living overcoming lives ,a holy place where GOD CAN DWELL.

  42. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. The word of God (Jesus) tells us what we should abstain from today (carnality etc.). One is wise to observe what the world calls clean, and heed what the word of God and man of God states. Dear God, help us (me) to be observant and not deceived, in Jesus name. “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Ame

  43. “For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” We must never forget where the Lord brought us from, when we were in our Egypt. God, help us to remember and always give you the glory, in Jesus name.

  44. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
    1 Corinthians 6:1
What? Know you not that tyour body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; which is in you, which ye have of God and you are not your own!

  45. 43 Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.

We know what the do’s and dont’s are because this chapter is all about what God said to do. But if we know what to do, why do we still let unclean animals come into our lives? This is what happens in this generation today, you know you shouldn’ t be listening to that music but all your friends our listening to it so you listen to it and slowly that uncleanliness starts to grow more and more instead of God growing more and more. Why… Why would we let somthing so simple take away our growth with God? For every second we are unclean that’s another soul that gets lost because we can’t reach out for them. I pray that the Holy Spirt would come into each soul so we won’t be lost in uncleanliness and we can grow in his spirit and go out and impact the future of this generation.

  46. “And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even. And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭11:24-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oh the filth of the unclean. It puts you out of he camp. It makes you an outcast. It can infect others. It could kill you. Oh the filth of the unclean, but oh the washing. The washing in the water makes you clean again.

This is for our souls too. We are so dirty by he filth that is aground is everyday. It tends to cover us. It is infectious. But oh the washing God the eaters of baptism clean our soul. They save us from unrighteousness. They purify us by the blood of the lamb. And then oh the washing of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The washing of the Holy Spirit in your life renews that cleanliness and restores you to the places of holiness and a place where you can communicate and reach others.

  47. Be careful of what you eat…

Our intake determines our output. When you are training athletically you are on strict diet boundaries. The type of food that you put in your body can either help or hinder you athletic goals. The same is for spiritual food. If you take in junk you will produce junk. Your spirituality will be measured on how much good you put in. When your training what you eat is half the battle. The other equally important part is what you do. The spirit is the same. Faith without works is dead. You have to work out or use your faith. Sprit begets spirit and flesh begets flesh

  48. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

And this verse sums up what he saying, the whole point of why God forbid this things was to stand Holy before him.

  49. Pigs are considered unclean. In the wild, they can have a diet that consists of just about anything. What the eat remains in their fat. By avoiding them in ancient times they Jews avoided potential illness through the swine.

  50. Awareness

While we in the dispensation of grace are free to eat animals like pigs, shrimp, and catfish that are prohibited on this list, in the ancient days there were some very good reasons to avoid certain animals. Meal preparation in modern, clean environments with refrigeration and the ability to control what animals are fed and how they are raised, slaughtered, and cleaned make a huge difference in sanitation. More primitive methods would make these certain creatures more prone to causing food poisoning and other such issues that were best avoided by not eating them. But beyond that, bringing up animals not to be eaten, whether for practical reasons or not, it gave to God’s people an awareness of the things of this world, that some things can be “consumed” if done with care but there are other things altogether that will make one “unclean.” We see this in the dispensation of grace represented within holiness standards to help guard the conduct of the church from accidentally being snared by certain things that would make a believer unclean, or snared by sin. Certain things may start out small (like bacteria with food poisoning) but once they are introduced, they begin to multiply within until sickness is revealed throughout the entire body. Having awareness of which things are able to be consumed with carefulness and which things are to be altogether avoided becomes critical to avoid being ensnared back into the bondage of sin.

    Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

  51. 44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

When the Word repeats itself, there is a reason. Here we see that we are told to be Holy, as God is Holy…

Maybe what we eat has something to do with being Holy, just like what we do or don’t drink…

  52. “For I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”(‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭11:44‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

As the Lord who is their God is Himself holy, His people, in order to enjoy perfect communion with Him, must also be holy. Hence they must abstain from all these objects of defilement which mar that holy communion. Appealing to this declaration, the Apostle Paul uses the same admonition: “As he which hath called you is holy so be ye holy in all manner of conversation, because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy” (1Peter 1:15-16).In Jesus Name !!!

  53. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
    Titus 3:3-8 The Message (MSG)
It wasn’t so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more life to come—an eternity of life! You can count on this.
    Hebrews 7:26-28 The Message (MSG)
So now we have a high priest who perfectly fits our needs: completely holy, uncompromised by sin, with authority extending as high as God’s presence in heaven itself. Unlike the other high priests, he doesn’t have to offer sacrifices for his own sins every day before he can get around to us and our sins. He’s done it, once and for all: offered up himself as the sacrifice. The law appoints as high priests men who are never able to get the job done right. But this intervening command of God, which came later, appoints the Son, who is absolutely, eternally perfect.
    Hebrews 12:10-11The Message (MSG)
4-11 In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children?
My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline,
but don’t be crushed by it either.
    It’s the child he loves that he disciplines;
the child he embraces, he also corrects.

God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God’s training so we can truly live? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God.

Oh JESUS help us all to be HOLY Like you! Thank you Jesus. I love you.

  54. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

There are definite reasons to obey God, both for our spiritual well being as well as our natural well being. To be holy, we cannot defile the body with sin, negativity or even substances that are known to cause disease. Praise God that he is able to cleanse and make us whole-no matter the problem.

  55. 45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Everything we do represents either Jesus or not. Jesus is the only one that is holy so we want to be just like Him we should be holy. Jesus is the light and the truth…ask yourself would Jesus do that yes or no? He speaks to us if we let Him, but we have the choice to obey Him or not. Jesus is all we need because He will supply all our needs. Thank You Jesus for everything that you have given me.

  56. Leviticus 11:44 -45
For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

45 For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
