Leviticus Chapter 13

40 Days of PASSION – Day 17

John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Leviticus 13

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,

2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:

3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

4 If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:

5 And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:

6 And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

7 But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again.

8 And if the priest see that, behold, the scab spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a leprosy.

9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest;

10 And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;

11 It is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.

12 And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh;

13 Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.

14 But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean.

15 And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.

16 Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the priest;

17 And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.

18 The flesh also, in which, even in the skin thereof, was a boil, and is healed,

19 And in the place of the boil there be a white rising, or a bright spot, white, and somewhat reddish, and it be shewed to the priest;

20 And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.

21 But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if it be not lower than the skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

22 And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.

23 But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

24 Or if there be any flesh, in the skin whereof there is a hot burning, and the quick flesh that burneth have a white bright spot, somewhat reddish, or white;

25 Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

26 But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

27 And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

28 And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.

29 If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard;

30 Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a dry scall, even a leprosy upon the head or beard.

31 And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:

32 And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague: and, behold, if the scall spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the scall be not in sight deeper than the skin;

33 He shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more:

34 And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scall: and, behold, if the scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

35 But if the scall spread much in the skin after his cleansing;

36 Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.

37 But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

38 If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white bright spots;

39 Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.

40 And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.

41 And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead bald: yet is he clean.

42 And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

43 Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh;

44 He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head.

45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

46 All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.

47 The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;

48 Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin;

49 And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest:

50 And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days:

51 And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.

52 He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.

53 And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;

54 Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more:

55 And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.

56 And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:

57 And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

58 And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.

59 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

  1. They would go before the priest so that he could search for signs of uncleanliness and tell them what needed to be done to be pronounced clean again. We need to search our lives often and allow God’s Word to shine light on us to make sure we are not living unclean before Him.

    Psalm 139:23
    Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

  2. The priest role
    Priest.did.not.serve.as.doctors or.have.any role as curing disease . The priest was to identify disorders that make.a.person ritually unclean and to certify his or her recovery from the condition .,

  3. 55 And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.

    Some scholars believe leprosy originated in Egypt. Not long after coming out of their bondage this plague showed up and had to be handled. The people’s lives threatened by Phroah for years. Enslaved, beaten, and made to work in harsh conditions. Now they are free and their lives are still threaten by the every people that they were freed from.

    Many lives come through the doors of our church and break free from the bondage of sin but it is the hidden plagues that show up after they’ve been exposed to the church but thanks be to God that the plague can’t last in the fire! It is my belief that as long as we keep the fire on the altar and stay passionate it will be unable to harm us.

    In reality the moment it comes into contact with us it will do one of two things 1. Burn it out of them or 2. Cause them to flee. I’m believing for the first. My prayer is the CHURCH would awaken the fire of the altar and all plagues of doubt, fear, laziness, immorality,and all sin would no longer become wild epidemics in our city. For this town is not big enough for our God and the god of this world. HE is the God of this city and HIS name is JESUS!

  4. Isa_53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

    Jas_5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

  5. Nothing is hid from the presence of God. Proverb 15:3 proclaims, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” These scriptures are detailing the progression of leprosy and the process of dealing with it. Sin starts somewhere. I am not referring to the sins of omission or deliberate; rather those things we make a hasty decision on and regret later or figure we snuck one by. Sin always brings regret, bitterness, guilt, and resentment down the road.

    As we truly grow in our relationship with God and live and eat the Scriptures, we will come to the place eventually where we will think that we are the biggest sinners in town. The reason why is because as we draw nearer to God, we will begin to see ourselves more and more as a dirty sinner. Hebrews 12:29, “For our God is a consuming fire.” God’s holiness exposes the awfulness of our sins.

    Thankfully Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt of sin that we could not pay.

  6. Seems like the ultimate decision the priest had to make after examination was whether or not the disease was just, “skin-deep,” or if had infected further into the body being, “more than skin-deep.” Looking at this in a spiritual sense, we can’t allow things to “get under our skin” as the saying goes. No matter the temptation, trial, or situation, we have to remember to fight with prayer in Jesus Name. There is no other name, and I’m thankful that there is no other name that I know. Jesus today You will Save me!

  7. The priest must burn the item—the clothing, the woolen or linen fabric, or piece of leather—for it has been contaminated by a serious mildew. It must be completely destroyed by fire.
    Leviticus 13:52 NLT

    In our joirney with Christ there will times that our clothes will get stained or contaminated because life on this earth is not perfect and everywhere we go uncleanliness, mildew, and diseases. Which is why we need a man of God full of the Holy Ghost in our life to go to because he can examine us, guide us and pray for us and with that fire it will not only destroy the uncleanliness but it will purify our life.

  8. iLove to grow in the Word
    The following is an excerpt from Bible Hub. Leprosy can be compared to a spiritual condition of the heart. It would slowly spread throughout the entire body. We are the body of Christ and therefore God must remove the bitter members before the whole body is consumed

    Leprosy was “the outward and visible sign of the innermost spiritual corruption; a meet emblem in its small beginnings, its gradual spread, its internal disfigurement, its dissolution little by little of the whole body, of that which corrupts, degrades, and defiles man’s inner nature, and renders him unmeet to enter the presence of a pure and holy God” (Maclear’s Handbook O.T). Our Lord cured lepers (Matthew 8:2, 3; Mark 1:40-42). This divine power so manifested illustrates his gracious dealings with men in curing the leprosy of the soul, the fatal taint of sin.

  9. 52 He must burn the fabric, the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or any leather article that has been spoiled; because the defiling mold is persistent, the article must be burned.

    Mold is persistent like the devil is persistent to take our clean self and make us unclean. The devil won’t stop trying to come after us because that’s what he does, to try and take Gods people. But the thing is that some people let him, they let that mold grow into there life’s. That’s were the people of God need to stop that growth. We need to take that part of our life’s that has mold in it and throw it in the fire. We need to take control of our life with God and say devil you have NO right to be in my life! Why let the mold grow when all we have to do it throw it into the fire and have a clean life in Jesus name! I pray that God will open our eyes so we can see the mold in our life’s and then we throw it I the fire to have Victory in Jesus Name!

  10. It may seem strange that the partial leper should be considered unclean, and the person totally covered with the disease clean. This was probably owing to a different species or stage of the disease; the partial being contagious, the total not. That there are two different species, or degrees, of the disease described here, is sufficiently evident: in one, the person was all covered with a white enamelled scurf; in the other, there was a quick raw flesh in the risings. On this account, the one was deemed unclean, or contagious, the other not; for contact with the quick raw flesh would be more likely to communicate the disease, than the touch of the hard dry scurf. So coming in contact with the diseased man, could have little or no danger of infection. A person with a contagious state or Spirit like gossip or bitterness can try and rub up into ours. Being receptive and discerning their spirit helps us identify how to help with in the place they are spiritually. A person will find it easier to leave the state they are in once they are overwhelmed by it like a full blown leper. While in the middle of it developing like a disease it can be contagious if we are not watching. All that is needed is turning to Jesus whose stripes brings forth healing, by His blood their is forgiveness.

  11. This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

    Are we clean when come into God’s presence? To enter into his presence we must. Not should be but must be clean. Thank you Jesus for the blood that makes us clean.

  12. “Those are the rules about what to do with anything that has mold on it. They apply to clothes that are made out of wool or linen. They apply to woven and knitted cloth and to leather articles. They give a priest directions about when to announce whether something is “clean” or not.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭13:59‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

    “Husbands, love your wives. Love them just as Christ loved the church. He gave himself up for her. He did it to make her holy. He made her clean by washing her with water and the word. He did it to bring her to himself as a brightly shining church. He wants a church that has no stain or wrinkle or any other flaw. He wants a church that is holy and without blame.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:25-27‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  13. In a day and time that had no understanding of disease and the spread of disease, God gave them careful and detailed instructions on how to diagnose leprosy prevent the spread of it too. This is a great example of obedience using their faith in God rather than the knowledge of man. They were protected from the rampant spread of this disease by following His instructions. Today is no different. We are blessed when we obey and take His instruction whether or not we understand why!

  14. Throw it in the fire!

    55 And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.

    Ism comes together once a year and we write down things that we believe are holding us back from God and throw it in the fire. Just because we throw it in the fire doesn’t means it’s gone but we do that as a commitment that we are going to recommit to Him and let go of things holding us back. It’s time for us as a church to throw some things in the fire, to get rid of whatever is keeping us from God! As we are fasting lets cleanse ourselves from the things that have torn us down!

  15. The Priest was to determine between clean and unclean and decide what was to be done once it was carefully reviewed. God has a plan and instructions are given as to what needs to be done with the clean and unclean.

    God wants us to be clean and follow his commands. Thank God for giving us the opportunity to examine our hearts and make the unclean righteous and pleasing to him.

  16. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIEST

    Too often the office of the Priest is either despised for its responsibilities or aspired for its benefits. We understand in this chapter that the responsibility of the priest is a process.

    Too often people pressure the Priest for an immediate answer. However we learn here that an answer is a process based on the response of the flesh of the individual. I learned this week that most answers from the LORD come little by little.

    Be patient with your man of GOD, your spiritual answer is a process.

  17. “If anyone has a swelling or a rash or discolored skin that might develop into a serious skin disease, that person must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons. The priest will examine the affected area of the skin. If the hair in the affected area has turned white and the problem appears to be more than skin-deep, it is a serious skin disease, and the priest who examines it must pronounce the person ceremonially unclean. “But if the affected area of the skin is only a white discoloration and does not appear to be more than skin-deep, and if the hair on the spot has not turned white, the priest will quarantine the person for seven days. On the seventh day the priest will make another examination. If he finds the affected area has not changed and the problem has not spread on the skin, the priest will quarantine the person for seven more days. On the seventh day the priest will make another examination. If he finds the affected area has faded and has not spread, the priest will pronounce the person ceremonially clean. It was only a rash. The person’s clothing must be washed, and the person will be ceremonially clean.
    Leviticus 13:2-6 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/lev.13.2-6.NLT

    It talks about how the children of Israel, Gods people, presented themselves before the priest to examine them. We must allow now our priest or man of God the permission to examine us and speak into our lives. Yet many are afriad to come close for fear of discovering a hiden sore. It is better to know and deal with the uncleaness that to be lost forever.

  18. The consistent theme that I see throughout this chapter is that it is the priest job to determine what is clean and unclean. in essence he is able to determine what is right and what is wrong what is sin and what is good what is holy and what is profane. Just as back then the pastor’s job is to differentiate between the clean and the unclean he has to call it like it is and he has to sound his voice like a trumpet so that everyone knows what is right and what is wrong. I thank God that we have a man of God who does just that!

  19. 45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

    Thank god we have a Lord that is a healer and a redeemer and we don’t have to be seperate from the body because we are unclean spiritually. But by the blood of Jesus we are made whole or clean. Thank you Jesus

  20. 8 If the priest finds that the rash has spread, he must pronounce the person ceremonially unclean, for it is indeed a skin disease.

    The priest was worried about people having some kind of contagious disease. The Priest did not want to spread disease to other people, so he had to make sure the were clean. Spiritually disease is like sin, it is contagious and it will make others unholy. God wants us to be pure and clean at all times when coming into his presence.

  21. How deep is your sin?

    39 Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.

    At first I picked this verse because of my appearance, but as I reflected longer upon it, it made me wonder how deep sins affect your our bodies. A freckle that is visible but has not gotten any deeper than the dermis (visual area of skin) it is just that a freckle but when a freckle goes into the hypodermic (deepest part of skin) it becomes cancerous. In the same matter as we let sin ride in our lives without repentance, it takes over our lives. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. It is only by repentance and by the baptism in Jesus name that His Blood is applied to our sin for the remission (debt paid in full, slate wiped clean) . Isaiah 1:18 Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. We need to repent immediately so the sin doesn’t get so deep that will kill our soul. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    So Thankful for His Blood that brings life to our soul.

  22. And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

    The way you look determines if your clean or unclean. The way we worship and praise God determines how you believe. We have to make up our mind and be worshippers and praisers. Not being ashamed of what others think because nobody is going to save you. Jesus is the only one that is going to save us, Jesus is all that Matters!!!

  23. Leviticus 13:40
    And the man whose hair is fallen off his head he is bald yet is he clean.
    We must be clean everyday in life or we won’t make it. Grow with Jesus Amen

  24. I could imagine having the plague for 7 days and the pain that gose with it but i know that Jesus is my Savior and I know what ever the sickness is I know he is able to heal me instantly

  25. Leviticus 13:59

    59 “These are the instructions for dealing with mildew that contaminates woolen or linen clothing or fabric or anything made of leather. This is how the priest will determine whether these items are ceremonially clean or unclean.”

    Both the skin disease and the mildew on the clothing represent something that starts off small and then spreads gradually. They are not pronounced unclean until it has spread, or gotten worse.

    Sin affects us gradually and spreads. First it is a thought from a temptation, then we consider, and then we do it. Once we have sinned it appears on our soul as a small spot. If we immediately repent the spot goes away, and God delivers us from its infection.

    If we do not repent and continue to sin it will spread throughout our soul. This infectious disease soon becomes worse and worse until finally it brings forth a spiritual death.

    James 1:14-15

    14 and each one is tempted, by his own desires being led away and enticed, 15 afterward the desire having conceived, doth give birth to sin, and the sin having been perfected, doth bring forth death.

    We must abort sin before it has a chance to bring forth death. Just like the priest could pronounce someone clean our great high priest Jesus is the only one who can wash us and deliver us from the mortis of sin and death.

  26. 3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

    This symbolic of the Judgement Seat, that we will go before Jesus, hoping that we might get away with a “little sin” or impurity on us. When the words, UNCLEAN! Will come will be casted to eternal damnation.

  27. 3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

    It was the Priest responsibility to inspect and pronounce clean/unclean to the area in question.

    Why is it when our Pastor declares that things we are doing, or we participate in our unclean, we cop attitudes? We should be thankful that God allows Him to see situations beyond us and give us the WORD of God to handle those situations so the uncleanliness can be removed from our lives and we can be purified through repentance and restoration by the Word of God and Spirit of God flowing through us.

  28. Leprosy is an infectious disease that causes severe, disfiguring skin sores and nerve damage.
    Sounds like sin. Sin causes us to have spots and causes major damage to us.

    This chapter made me think of the church Jesus is coming back for.
    2 Peter 3:13-14
    “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”
    Eph. 5:27
    “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

    JESUS is coming back for a church without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.
    Be washed in His Blood and be Clean!

  29. 57 And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

    You can either stay in the bad situation that your in, or you can listen to your leaders. Obey those that have the rule over you! You will truly be blessed. Its amazing of how life happens and God tries to get our attention before these things happen but we ignore him and do what we want. We dont seek his face like how we ought too. Jesus forgive us.

  30. 3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

    Jesus knows every spot, blotch that we have on our skin even if other people can’t see it. He knows our thoughts and intentions and when we have sinned. But the same Jesus can remove all the spots we have so that we can be clean in his eyes.

  31. I learned that the law concerning Leprosy,in the Bible, the word leprosy is mentioned upwards of 40 times, depending on the Bible version being used. Leprosy was common in Bible times, and the many references to it were well understood by those who lived in unsanitary conditions.The main reason why leprosy is talked about so much in the Bible is that it is a graphic illustration of sin’s destructive power. In ancient Israel leprosy was a powerful object lesson of the debilitating influence of sin in a person’s life. In Jesus Name !!!

  32. This chapter talks about the clean and the unclean which was proclaimed by the priests. They had an obligation or duty to decide your cleanliness; but, it took the submission of God’s people to go before the priests as they were directed to do.

  33. Growing up our parents told us to do one thing several times, sometimes several times a day just so it would get stuck in our head so we would also do it the way they told us to do it when we grew up. God is the same way, all through out the bible there are teachings that were repeated in hope we would learn them. Some of them are in one chapter like this one, and some are in one verse. You just got to know where to look.

  34. Ir was a diceasesd that it was supposed obtained I pay for the sin. Thank you Jesus, you took all my sins and sickness in the cross of Calvary.

  35. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 8 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 19 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 24 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying. The word of God (Jesus) was very clear unto whom the Creator (Jesus) spoke to. One would be very wise to heed whom the Judge (Jesus) is speaking too, and mindful of anyone/anything that is contradictory. Dear God, thank you for a man of God that you speak too; “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  36. “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” The Lord gave instructions not to let the fire go out. We must do the same today, which is too keep the fire going. Anything that may hinder or attempt to put the fire out should be avoided. God help us to keep the fire going, in Jesus name.

  37. The skin

    We heard such a wonderful and revelatory message on the skin at BOTT. This thought will not compare but I’ll share it anyway.

    The skin is what you see in a person. You wash your hands when they are dirty and they become clean. You take a shower after work and you are refreshed. The skin or the outward is easy to clean. It is easy to clean up what everyone can see. It’s easy to put in s nice suit and tie for church, smile and look like everything is great. But what matters most is hidden where no one can see. David said it best in psalms 51- create in me a clean heart! This is what really matters. Don’t forget to clean outwardly for the sake of everyone else but you need the heart to be clean most of all.

  38. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,

    Sorry I’m late…

    The priest had alot of responsibility…our Pastor has alot of responsibility as well, and sometimes he needs a few of us to Hold his arms up, and show initiative. And not be blogging the next day.

    Welcome Home EVERYONE!

  39. Every day we have to check to see if we are clean. An unclean soul cannot enter the gates of the holy kingdom. Check your heart. Ask God to show you if there is anything that you need to be washed clean of. God asked the priests to look over his people. Those that were clean were pronounced as such. Those that were not were sent to be cleansed of the spirit. Sometimes it takes seven days, other times it takes longer. There were even some cases that offerings have to be made. Depending on where your heart is, is whether or not God will ask you to do certain things. There maybe some kind of offering or just a simple washing of your spirit. Be obedient and listen to what God requires of you. Do as he asks and there will be a reward for obedience. The kingdom is not that far out of reach. You just have to show that you are worthy to inherit God’s Kingdom and be at his feet for the afterlife. Where will you spend eternity, Oh yes that is our ultimate goal. Serve God and be in his kingdom, not to be cast away for something that we didn’t reconcile in our past. Have a blessed day.

  40. GOD gives us HIS SPIRIT to lead and guide us into all truth.
    This takes a lifetime of submission to HIS SPIRIT as we allow HIM to continually lead us in our daily lives to become more like HIM.

    Thank you JESUS for the HOLY GHOST and fire.
    v57 And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a speading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

    We are responsible for cleansing ourselves of every habit and attitude that would hinder the purpose of GOD in our lives, by getting rid of the old man our former lifestyles of corruption and deceitful lustd.
    As we daily allow the SPIRIT to renew our minds and refrain from allowing the enemy a place in our lives….. Ephesians 4:22-31

  41. Leviticus chapter 13: 18 When someone has a boil on their skin and it heals and in the place where the ball was a white swelling or reddish white spot appears they must present themselves to the priest. The priest is to examine it and if it appears to be more than skin deep in the hair on it has turned white the priest shell pronounce that person unclean. It is a defiling skin disease that has broken out where the boil was.

    Thank you Jesus for dying in my place on the cross. Because of you I have hope!

  42. They would go before the priest so that he could search for signs of uncleanliness and tell them what needed to be done to be pronounced clean again. We need to search our lives often and allow God’s Word to shine light on us to make sure we are not living unclean before Him.

  43. Leprosy had the saints constantly going to the priest to see if people were ok. After the priest looked at the people they were put by themselves for a while and then they were back with the others when they were clean. It was a constant battle of trying to figure out what someone neededand if they were infectious.
    Jesus help us all if we can’t see that your only one trying to help

  44. Leviticus 13:55
    And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.:

  45. Leviticus 13 The Message (MSG)
    Infections
    13:59 “These are the instructions regarding a spot of serious fungus in clothing of wool or linen, woven or knitted material, or any article of leather, for pronouncing them clean or unclean.”

    Are you clean or unclean? Are you God’s child or are YOU living for the devil? Are you giving everything you’ve got or not giving enough?…………….

    Even though God was speaking to Moses and Aaron about leprosy, I believe He also could be talking to his saints about in general being clean, living for Him and what we need to do to purify our bodies daily through Him, reading his word and praying daily! Thank you Jesus!
