Leviticus 15

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

4 Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean.

5 And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

6 And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

7 And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

8 And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

9 And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean.

10 And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

11 And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

12 And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

13 And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

14 And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the Lord unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:

15 And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord for his issue.

16 And if any man’s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.

21 And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

22 And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

23 And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.

24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.

25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

26 Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation.

27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.

29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the Lord for the issue of her uncleanness.

31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

32 This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth from him, and is defiled therewith;

33 And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.

  1. Verse 31 NIV “You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place,[b] which is among them.’” We still today, must keep ourselves separate from things that make us unclean. 1 Peter 1:13-16 MSG version says “So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.”

  2. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

In Mark 7:1-9 Jesus criticized the Pharisees for their over-emphasis on ceremonial cleanliness and their lack of regard for internal cleanliness. These laws were meant to have both hygienic reasons and spiritual application

1 John 1:7-9King James Version (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    John 15:3King James Version (KJV)
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

    Psalm 119:105King James Version (KJV)
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

It is important that we study and apply the Word of God to our lives because His Word cleanses us.

  3. 31. “You are responsible for keeping the People of Israel separate from that which makes them ritually unclean, lest they die in their unclean condition by defiling my Dwelling which is among them. MSG

Moses and Aaron had great responsibilities to keep the people from defiling what was holy among them. We must keep ourselves clean as well, so that we don’t defile what God has made holy, damage our testimony, and be a stumbling block to others.

    Romans 14:13,16
    13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

    16. Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

  4. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

He separated us from our sin. Sin is spiritual death. He purges us from our sin to keep us out of the bonds of spiritual death. Praise God! Halkelujah!!

  5. SEPARATION

31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

GOD gives us specific instructions in how to deal with life. A simple principal in the WORD of GOD is to create, maintain and protect SEPARATION from the situations that GOD declares unclean or unholy.

We keep ourselves in the LORD, we separate ourselves from the world, sin, iniquity and uncleanness.

Choose today to repent of sin and turn to JESUS for HIS saving GRACE.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  6. Which would make a better carnal role model: Bill Gates or Lou Ferrigno (Incredible Hulk)?

Proverbs 24:5 It’s better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day.

We can all get caught up in the shock and awe of highly successful people. However, there are differences in who we should consider to pattern parts of our lives after. I am not referring to spiritual affairs. I am referring to dealing with the world and making a living. There are 1696 professional football players in the NFL. There are 25,300 NCAA college football players and untold high-school and lower players. Of this field of talent, the odds are not too good of becoming a pro NFL player and make enough money to retire before you are seriously injured.

Just as elite is the super-rich crowd. Bill Gates is the top followed by Warren Buffett. The Walton family (Wal-Mart) and various tech CEO/founders; Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg, Larry Page, etc… Super-rich is not the crowd to follow either – to a point. Some are intelligent people. Others saw a need in the market place and filled in the gap.

Both of these groups can teach us something; perseverance, pursuit of perfection and to continually educate oneself. We can also apply these same attributes to our spiritual life. Imagine if we pursued the face of God as much as pursue a paycheck!! Do we spend as much time studying His word as we spend trolling Facebook? The largest room in the world is the room for improvement.

  7. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

This chapter relates physical uncleanness and how a time of separation is required for the individual with the issue of uncleanness. Everything that person comes in contact with is susceptible to their uncleanness.

The same relates to an individual that has bitterness, griping, complaining. Everyone and everything around them are affected by their stinking attitude.
A time of separation is necessary to the Lord is necessary to purify their heart, mind and attitude.

Let’s not be guilty of spreading our stinking thinking to others, causing them to be unclean as well. Take our issues to the Lord and allow Him to work them out, but be in unity with the family of God regardless of what our personal opinions are.

  8. 14 And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the Lord unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:

    A new day.

Seven days is a week of completion. So the eighth day is the day of new beginnings. Thank you Jesus that through you we can have an eighth day of new beginnings.

  9. When I first read this chapter the first thing that came to me me was to be separate, holy, and His Peculiar people. After a while of reflection it can also speak of how sin can be contagious, to the point of harming innocent people. Like an alcoholic that gets drunk, comes home and abuse his family, and later by driving kills an innocent by standards. Not only was he unclean but he inflicted that filth to others. Like this we can use all kind of sin like the spirit of self righteousness that can sit and point out others sin, makes prejudgment, and destroy another soul. We must really look at ourselves and search to see if our own sin, vanity, or pride has harmed a soul to such extend. Therefore if we let sin to take over a facet of our lives like a contagious decease the sin will be inflicted upon other to the point of death. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  10. At first when I read this chapter I though about being separate, Holy, His Peculiar people. Then after a while it seems to me that sin as of any decease could be contagious. No, I don’t mean that if you touch a sinner you will become a sinner
That will be far fetch; but the fact that other’s sin may affect you or drag you down. For example the alchoholic who comes home drunk and abuses his family, then takes off in his car and takes an innocent persons life. His sin affected not only those close to him, but affects an innocent by stander. In the same way, a person that is self righteous and can’t see further than their nose, and they make remarks of your wrong by doing this young spirit, that may say “is this what really Christians are like??” And walks away because you were too self righteous and killed a child of God. We are responsible lets act and have Jesus Mercy alway upon us. Don’t you ever forget Jesus Is everyones Savior!!!

  12. What did my parents do when I got sick? They took me to the doctor, and my doctor usually gave me some medicine, but addition to giving me medication my parents cleaned the house, cleaned and disinfected my room, washed my bed, and cleaned me up.

This issue sounds like the flu or any other sickness. No one wants what’s bothering you but if they touch the same door handle as you did or lay in the same bed, they are going to get sick.
The only way to make sure they don’t get it too is to clean themselves up, clean their bed and awaite until morning.

It’s truly amazing how the spiritual reflects the natural.

  13. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them

  14. iLove to grow in the Word

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

We all have issues in life that make us unclean. The key here that we find in the Old Testament, is issues in life not only make us unclean, but also make the whole body unclean. We must allow God to heal us from the issues of life and we must not infect the body, but allow God to heal the broken hearted.

  15. NLT) 31 this is how you will guard the people of Israel from ceremonial uncleanness otherwise they would die for their would die for their impurity would defile my tabernacle that stand among them

  16. “When the man with the discharge is healed, he must count off seven days for the period of purification. Then he must wash his clothes and bathe himself in fresh water, and he will be ceremonially clean.

God wants us to be clean at all times. No matter if it’s physically cleansing ourselves daily, but internally we should be clean also. Sin sits within us, we need to be cleansed spiritually at all times before going to the Lord to praise and worship him!

  17. Leviticus 15:31

31 “This is how you will guard the people of Israel from ceremonial uncleanness. Otherwise they would die, for their impurity would defile my Tabernacle that stands among them.

This wasn’t about the person but about God and his tabernacle. He knew that if they ensured the tabernacle while unclean they could literally die. He wanted to protect them from this tragedy and was willing to see the people go through the hassle to save them.

  18. Lev. 15:31, “Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.”

We are the temple of the living God. He wants to dwell and walk in us and be our God. But the only way He can do that is if we separate ourselves from this world, touch not the unclean thing, cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and perfect holiness in the fear of God. (2 Cor. 6:16-18 & 2 Cor. 7:1)

  19. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

We must live a separated a life, a life different from that of this world!

  20. The Process Of Healing

13 And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

Even after those that “hath an issue” have been cleansed, they had to wait an entire week to complete the process of purification. Not every work is completed the minute it begins, and not every work will be fully understood until it is done. God can begin something in our lives that may seem simple but ends up being something much bigger in His Kingdom.

    2 Kings 5:10-14
10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

  21. Leviticus 15:2
Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them when any man hath a running issue out of his flesh because of his issue he is unclean.

Speak to the lord with all of your heart .Grow with Jesus Amen

  22. 31. “Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncle news, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.

  23. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

It matters to God how hou present yourself before Him in the tabernacle or temple. It minght not only be from the outside but also what is coming from the inside or a matter of the heart. The instructions were to cleanse oneself. Likewise we must get rid of things that make us unclean like pride and unforgiveness and sin.

  24. 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

  25. Thus you shall separate the Israelites from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness by defiling My tabernacle that is in the midst of them. (‭Leviticus‬ ‭15‬:‭31‬ AMP)

When I come into the tabernacle of the most high GOD, in order for Him to receive my worship as a sweet smelling incense I first must be clean. I’m here to worship The Lord in Spirit and in truth. And this worship also comes through obedience to His word.

  26. “This is how you will guard the people of Israel from ceremonial uncleanness. Otherwise they would die, for their impurity would defile my Tabernacle that stands among them.
    Leviticus 15:31 NLT

We must always guard ourselves against any impurity and sin because if we dont we will defile the Lords temple. Because the wages of sin is death.

  27. Through. Instruction are.give g for cleansing after a person has been healed. Of.a skin.disease . The regulations concluded.with a discussion of bodily discharge linked with disease such as with.a.boil and those.related.to.sex.as a man’s.emission of semen or a women’s menstrual flow.

3 And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleannes

This is very true about a lot men. Amen. The word of Lord God is powerful?

  29. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

Spiritually we’ve all been unclean and made our temple unclean, But God gave us an option, repentance.. Hmmm…Do I wanna be unclean and seperate from God? OR…Do I Repent and never have to give it another thought? Bitterness is a choker…and I refuse to be strangled!
    i repent…So I can Grow!

  30. I tend to agree with brother Linton. If we spend as much time seeking God’s Council verses chasing after worldly people, there’s no telling how strong our spiritual walk would be. God created us to praise and worship him. We have chosen the path of the unclean. This is the time that we need to take hold of the reigns and say to the world, “I DON’T BELONG TO YOU. I AM A CHILD OF GOD!!!”. The world lies and steals, it’s the devil’s playground. There are a lot of distractions out there and we need to stay focused on God. His word will give us the riches that no man can give. All that we have to do is seek God first. He is our wise councilor and there is no man that give council better than God. Can God use man to help, of course that is why we have pastors, ministers, and leaders to guide us. The instruction is there, but it is up to us to separate ourselves from the world and seek the FACE OF GOD. We are unclean because of our flesh and we need to die of our flesh daily. So always seek council from God first and the rest will follow. Amen and have a blessed night.

  31. This chapter gives the ritual commands for dealing with 4 types of discharges: abnormal and normal discharges for men and women. The abnormal discharges for the men was most likely an std, gonorrhea (This rendering is supported by the LXX Wenham, Leviticus, 217–18; Gerstenberger, Leviticus, 199). It is interesting that both an std and a natural discharge resulted in making one ritually unclean.

  32. This chapter shows me that is very important not to even get near something of this world that will be considered unclean. We ought to keep our self separated from things of the world and things the same because just as we see in this chapter anytime anyone gets close to touching anything on clean they are expected to watch fully before they can enter back into the general population. God does not play when it comes to touching the unclean thing. We should be very careful the Bible says that pure religion and undefiled before God is to visit the fatherless and widows in their fiction and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world.

  33. “” ‘You must keep the people of Israel away from things that make them “unclean.” Then they will not die for being “unclean.” And they will not die for making the place where the Lord lives “unclean.” It is in the middle of the camp.’ “”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭15:31‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Thankful for the cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus.

  34. 31 “‘You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place,[b] which is among them.’”

Let us life in your dimension and not of our own or this world! I pray that there will be a light shinning off of Gods people that will show others we aren’t apart of this world but we life with God!

  35. “And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the Lord commanded to be done.” The word of God (Jesus) said the Lord (Jesus) commanded. One is wise to heed whom the Judge (Jesus) chooses, which one will know if they heed ALL of the word of God. One should not doubt that one that picks and chooses what they want; is not the one the Lord chose. Dear God, open our (my) eyes and ears; “In God we (I) trust”. “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  36. “So Aaron and his sons did all things which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.” Aron and his sons were obedient to what the Lord commanded. Obedience is easier to do when we know it will please the Lord. God help us to also do so that we may be right, in Jesus name.

  37. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.
We should not be like the world. We are to be a peculiar to the unchurched. Set apart from the world. When we sin we need to repent and turn away from our sins.

  38. 28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.

  39. Until evening

27 And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

The common denominator in this passage is until evening, or when the day is finished.
His mercies are new each morning. Basically he is saying that if we can just hang in there it will be all right. If we can be still and know that he is God. When it is dark you know your morning is about to come. A new day is on the horizon. Your prayer is about to be answered. You are close to victory. Just make it through the dark. He has a plan for the light to shine again in our lives.

  40. God is teaching the people what is clean and what is unclean for their physical well being, so that they are not defiled, that the temple is not defiled and so they don’t die in their uncleaness. Today we are the temple for the Holy Spirit and we too must know what is clean and unclean so that we do not defile this temple. Sin can be subtle – it can be a wrong spirit and a bad attitude. It can be negative thoughts or speech. The word of God points us to the right path and if we still don’t the understand, God will allow the man of God to preach and teach so we can see in us what God sees and what he is displeased with. Be teachable and willing to obey and repent daily to keep ourselves clean.

  41. 31 “‘You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place, which is among them.'”

For the sake of personal hygiene and keeping the temple sanitary God lays down some instructions to follow. With the blood of animals already being sacrificed in the temple will prevent infection and any contagious effects someone coming into contact would cause. This chapter may be hard to read because of its content but its really all for the well being of the people. The same principle applies that we should abstain from those who would infect our minds or hearts away from God. We are called to live holy and separated lives so keeping from these things for the Israelites would be to protect them like staying away from sin will protect us.

  42. “‘Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.”(‭Leviticus‬ ‭15:31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Moses and Aaron, for they were conjointly addressed (see Leviticus 15:1)—are to restrain the children of Israel, lest they be punished with death when they approach the Lord in a defiled state. From all this, 1st, Let us learn to bless God that we are not under the yoke of these carnal ordinances; that, as nothing can defile us, so nothing can destroy us, but sin. They may now partake of the Lord’s supper, who durst not then eat of the peace-offering. And the defilement we contract by our daily infirmities we may be cleansed from in secret, by the renewed acts of repentance and faith, In Jesus Name !!!

  43. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

Following the commands that God gives Moses will
Please God. Live a separate life from sin and live a godly life through faith all is possible .

  44. Lev.15:18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

I Cor. 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body ; but he that committed fornication sinneth against his own body.

    “Always Flee fornication “

  45. v31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleaness; that they die not in their uncleaness, when they fefile my tabernacle that is among them.

Thank GOD for HIS sacrificial blood we no longer will be the same filthy sinner.
JESUS CHRIST will wash us from our degraded lifestyle.

  46. “And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.”
    ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This reminds me of he woman with the issue of blood. She was so unclean and should have been put out. She was not just taking a risk of faith the day that she touched Jesus. She was also going against her laws. Because she was unclean she should have not been with everyone else.

  47. 31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

We must be holy and separated from this world because that is what God called us to be. To be His servants, to stand out from those in sin, to reflect His image and His love.

  48. Leviticus 15:31
Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.
