Numbers 3

1 These also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spake with Moses in mount Sinai.

2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.

4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;

13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the Lord.

14 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded.

17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.

19 And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.

21 Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

22 Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.

23 The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.

24 And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.

25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,

26 And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.

27 And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

29 The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.

30 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

31 And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.

32 And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

33 Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

34 And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.

35 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.

36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,

37 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.

38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

39 All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the Lord, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

40 And the Lord said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the Lord) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.

42 And Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

44 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.

46 And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;

47 Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:)

48 And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.

49 And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:

50 Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

“And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai”
    Strange fire
    02114
    TWOT – 541
    זוּר zuwr
    Verb zoor
    a primitive root
a primitive root; to turn aside (especially for lodging); hence to be a foreigner, strange, profane; specifically (active participle) to commit adultery:–(come from) another (man, place), fanner, go away, (e-)strange(-r, thing, woman).
to be strange, be a stranger
    (Qal)
    to become estranged
strange, another, stranger, foreigner, an enemy (participle)
    loathsome (of breath) (participle)
    strange woman, prostitute, harlot (meton)
    (Niphal) to be estranged
(Hophal) to be a stranger, be one alienated

We must be careful not to prostitute the word of God. False doctrine is sending up strange fire and will consume folks in the end. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Be careful not to send up strange fire. That is teaching of false doctrine

  2. 45. Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.

    46. And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;

He lives to take away my shame
And He lives, forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive and there’s an empty grave

    I know my Redeemer lives
    I know my Redeemer lives
    Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
    I know my Redeemer lives

  3. In reading this chapter, we see how each tribe/clan had their specific job/work or responsibility of maintaining, ministering, and caring for different things that were needed for The Dwelling at the Tent of Meeting. We too all have a specific calling, talent or responsibility to help in the kingdom of God. It is time to be counted and pray about how we too can be used.

  4. 8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

When we work with the children in the Children’s ministry, we do it in the service of the church, just as the people of Israel did

  5. Numbers 3:23
The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.

The families need the Lord in there heart. Grown with Jesus Amen

  6. Exodus 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
Very comforting on a Monday morning . thank you Lord for helping me through this day!

  7. Each of us have a place in the Kingdom of God. We must follow his instructions and do our part. Each “job” is important to growing the church in these last days.

  8. num.3.4.kjv And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord , when they offered strange fire before the Lord , in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

Becareful to send up strange fire. Be honest with yourself. Be honest to God.

  9. This chapter tells has God took the Levies in place of.the firstborn of the firstborn of the Exodus generation. The imagery conveys another beautiful truth. Those who belong to God are drawn close to him and.give the privilege of service. God takes the.life He saves and.makes it.the most meaningful life of all.
Those spared from death belong to God.
God claims.our service that others might.be.blessed.

  10. Numbers 3:5-9 & 38 (MSG)
5-9, “God spoke to Moses. He said, Bring forward the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron so they can help him. They shall work for him and the whole congregation at the Tent of Meeting by doing the work of The Dwelling. Their job is to be responsible for all the furnishings of The Dwelling, ministering to the affairs of The Dwelling as the People of Israel come to perform their duties. Turn the Levites over to Aaron and his sons, they are the ones assigned to work full time for him.”
38, “Moses and Aaron and his sons camped to the east of The Dwelling, toward the rising sun, in front of the Tent of Meeting. They were in charge of maintaining the Sanctuary of the People of Israel and the rituals of worship.”

We all have a job and responsibility to do in the church. From ministering, to teaching, to interpreting, to singing, to greeting, to cleaning, to driving a van or bus, etc… If we all take our jobs and responsibilities seriously and do them, then this will help Pastor and allow him to take care of the body of Christ as he should.

Let’s all work together for the Glory and Kingdom of God!

This made me think of a Sunday school song…
When we all work together, together, together
When we all work together how happy we’ll be.

  11. THE DANGER OF DISCONNECT

4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

Society today challenges us with the task of building trust. Dishonest from every realm of life creates a disconnect in mankind. We are cautious to connect with those that we do not trust.

Nadab and Abihu found themselves seeking in areas they should not have been. The fire of incense or worship was dedicated to the LORD and they thought it ok to modify worship to fit their desires. Worship is not purposed to make us feel better, worship is purposed to reveal GOD’s worth to mankind. In the process of true worship, we naturally feel better.

However, GOD takes offense to strange fire. Nadab and Abihu died and they had no children. In their death GOD protected the integrity of worship in the children of Israel.

We must remain close to our Leadership and know the will and word of GOD to be able to identify strange worship.

Notice the command of the LORD following the misguided “strange fire” offering.

5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

    Bring them NEAR!

Get close to the man of GOD and let them serve him so that they can witness and experience his worship unto GOD. Stay connected, don’t wonder in the wilderness, trying out every new thing to see what it is. Follow on to know the LORD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  12. 4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

They lifted up strange fire unto the Lord and died because of it. We have to be sure to keep our worship pure and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

  13. 6 “Call forward the tribe of Levi, and present them to Aaron the priest to serve as his assistants. 7 They will serve Aaron and the whole community, performing their sacred duties in and around the Tabernacle.

In order to be used by God we must first serve!

  14. 4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

Clearly Nadab and Abihu didn’t obey EXACTLY as the Lord commanded, like we read in yesterday’s chapter. It cost them their lives, whose to say God won’t allow this same scenario to happen again in our time?

  15. Along with such a great privilege came and immense responsibility, one that Nadab and Abihu did not meet. Therefore they died before the Lord, offering strange fire. They were not punctilious in obeying God’s Word, as He had not commanded them to do what they did (Leviticus 10:1 ).This reference explains why only Ithamar are mentioned as being in charge of the Levites.

Lev.10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therin ,and put incense theron, and offeed strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

    Obey God’s Word!

  16. Set apart

42 And Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR:::: this was the phrase we yelled back to our commander after formation, and if by any chances one was missing you better know all the details of his absent and why? God in His own way is letting us know how important it is to keep track of His people. He needed to know the where about of His people. On that last formation will pastor be able
To say All Present and Accounted for.!!!!!!! May the redeem of the Lord say so!!!!!m

    Amen and amen

  17. 2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Aarons 4 sons were all raised the same way, under the same roof, same principles and commandments. Yet we find that the two youngest sons took the instructions from their father with great care, while the two oldest sons did not heed the instructions and offered a strange fire before the Lord. This disobedience cost them their lives, and their lineage because they had no children to carry on their name.

The sin of disobedience doesn’t just effect the one who is disobedience, but it also their family members.

The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord, therefore it is so important that we take care to follow the Lord’s commands and leading so that our families continue to walk in truth!

  18. Exodus 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

I cannot explain in words the feeling of coming home after being on the road for so long. I was hoping and praying for a “homecoming” or “reunion” feeling of seeing all the people that I love and; as Bro Smith proclaimed being with my Brothers and Sisters. I didn’t realize how heavy the burden I was carrying until it was lifted.

Thank you to all that have kept me and my family in your prayers.

  19. 45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.

I love how yesterday I didn’t understand why God didn’t number the Levites. BUT HES SO AWESOME, he had a greater responsibility for them, he had a bigger plan for them! They are in charge of the tabernacle, they are special to him…the Bible says he who is last is first…they may have gotten their position last, but God made them first and when they camp they encamp around the tabernacle because God saw something in them that he may not have seen in the other tribes. Don’t count me out, God’s not done with me yet!

    GROWING PAINS

  20. FAMILY CHORE CHART

In every good house/ church/ nation you have to have delegation of tasks so there is not confusion and everything is handled, down to the slightest detail.

  21. Number 3:38 Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle towards the sunrise in front of the tent of meeting. They were responsible for the care of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who approaches the sanctuary was to be put to death.

  22. 7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

The ministry of the church building. It takes all of us to make the church run. Our church has out grown what pastor and sis watts can do on their own. We as the leaders of the church, should step up and serve. Serve as you do it into the Lord.

  23. GOD IS OF ORDER!!!
28 In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

I THINK HE TAKES IT SERIOUSLY?
38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death

I THANK GOD FOR POFW , FOR EVERYONE THEREIN AND FOR EVERYONE THAT IS TO BE ADDED!!!
    HALELUJAH!!!

  24. 9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

    Commentary by John Wesley:
Given to him — To attend upon him and observe his orders, and ease him of his burden

The man of God needed this help because of the burdens of the office he held. Pastor needs this help as well. Not only from personal friends/Ministers, but also from the Ministry team, Pastoral Staff, Directors, Elders and Saints! Each one has their own calling and gifting to be able to alleviate some of the burdens he carries for overseeing this work in the region of Ft. Worth.

  25. 51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses

Commandment after commandment we see how Moses kept submissive and obedient to the Word of the Lord. We don’t see him complain about task after task and after task that he is asked to do. Now what is the Lord asking of you and I to do? And we can expand this what is the Lord, through the man of God is asking us to do? Submission opens the door for trust and close relationship. One may say how come I don’t get the opportunity or chance to do this or that? Why don’t I get picked for such a task, I believe I can do better…and one might, but how is your submission level? Where you faithful on those few little things you were asked to do? Submission will gain you trust. It will give the chance to prove yourself and build a closer relationship.

    Luke 16:10New Living Translation (NLT)

10 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

  26. 4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

The offering they gave was strange in the eyes of the Lord. It was not of Him therefore He did not recognize it. What does our offering look like like in the eyes of God? If we do not live a holy and righteous life, our offering of praise will be strange in His eyes. We cannot pretend to praise and expect to fool the all knowing God! But as long as we are truthfully living for Him and giving our all He will continually bless us!

  27. 13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the Lord.

All the fIrstborn….my son is the firstborn and blessed that he is the Lords. My son is going to be A man of God that is going to filled with the Holy Ghost, love God, pray for others, and preach the gospel. Jr is going to learn who Jesus Christ is and will not settle for nothing less. Jesus is the only reason why we even exist. Even right now Jr will not go sleep till I read Him the bible and pray. He always prays for His food and will pray for others. He is learning and I rejoice because this is only the start of his walk with God.

  28. And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.
Oh how much we will save ourselves from hurt it we actually think about the consequences and think things through .We need to ask ourselves who will this decision affect? Do it pleases God? We don’t want to offer praises that are of the flesh. We need to offer praises that are genuine!

  29. He lives to take away my shame
And He lives, forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive and there’s an empty grave

    I know my Redeemer lives
    I know my Redeemer lives
    Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
    I know my Redeemer lives

  30. 35 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.

Everything had a place, and someone was responsible for it all. Everything was important even the smallest pieces. Never despise even the smallest of things, God sees it all and it’s important to him.

  31. NLT 6“Call forward the tribe of Levi, and present them to Aaron the priest to serve as his assistants. 7 They will serve Aaron and the whole community, performing their sacred duties in and around the Tabernacle.

The Levites were to serve Aaron, his needs and the priests. The Levites were obedient and submissive to the man of God. We too are to serve our church, be there for the church’s needs and allow the man of God (Pastor) to lead/guide us.

  32. And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons according to the word of the Lord that Lord commanded Moses

    • There are 2 definitions
1 means compensate for the faults or bad aspect of ( something )

      2) gain or regain possession of exchange for payment

  33. “But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.” The sanctuary (God’s house) was to be revered, as was the man of God (Jesus). Dear God, let us (me) be mindful and respectful, of you and your sanctuary. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  34. “And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.” The word of the Lord should not be seen, as only what happened then. The Lord knows and sees our hearts, which is all more reason why an offering should be unto him only. God let our offering be pleasing and acceptable unto you, in Jesus name.

  35. 38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

  36. 6 “Call forward the tribe of Levi, and present them to Aaron the priest to serve as his assistants. 7 They will serve Aaron and the whole community, performing their sacred duties in and around the Tabernacle.
    (Numbers 3:6-7 NLTse)

In the tabernacle in the wilderness every Levite had a duty, and responsibility in the temple. Whether it was curtains, or helping in sacrificing every job was important and ALL considered ministry.

The Lord blessed the Levites, and expected them to operate in unity under the same common vision, and purpose. Today we have one common vision, and person that God has given Pastor. Each of us are responsible for a part of the church. No job is pointless, and every aspect of the church must be covered.

We must all make sure that we are doing our part, and that every piece of the church is taken care of and covered for the glory of God. Whether ministering to souls or cleaning windows every job matters in the kingdom.

  37. 4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.

We must be very cautious to make sure that we bring clean hands and a pure heart when we come to worship the King of Kings.

  38. 10. So you shall appoint Aaron and His sons, and they shall attend to their priesthood ; but the oitsider who comes near shall be put to death”
Wow! The Lord had rules for who can be near to the the tabernacle and His adoration. God made a New covenant by His blood . Now He make us kings and priesthoods to be before His throne and worship Him and minister to others. Praise the Lord. We have to value this, we are His firstborns.

  39. 8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

This is the point we all have to come to. Willing and ready to do the service of the Lord. It doesn’t matter how bad you think your past is, when it comes to God, he is able to restore all. God gives us the tools we need in order to overcome the different obstacles in our life.

  40. 6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

I just cant get away from the Tribe of “Levi” the third son of Jacob by Leah. Levi’s name means “joined to” and God chose descendants of Levi to set aside for His service. It says that ” the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.”

They where to “minister” to the priest. Unity ministers to the man of God and “keep his chrage, and the charge of the whole congregation. Charge can mean guard, office, or preserve. Unity guards the man of God and the church. It also preserves the original purpose of the church; to reach the world around us.

  41. Twelve is the number of governmental establishment, the number of tribes of Israel . Years later when the Israelites settle in the promised land the Levites receive no “inheritance among the rest” (Jos 14:4), the number twelve is maintained by counting both Ephraim and Manasseh, Joseph’s sons that Jacob adopted (Gen 48:5). They were excluded because God would be their inheritance of the priests as He is our inheritance today. Their will be things that we give up to have an even greater reward later. Jesus and life eternal will be our reward.

  42. They will serve Aaron and the whole community, performing their sacred duties in and around the Tabernacle.
    Numbers 3:7 NLT

We have been called to serve not just in church but all around us including our community. We have been chosen to show our community that there is a church that cares and is willing to serve and give a lending hand. Our goal should be that our community sees Jesus in us and they give God all the glory.

  43. When you work in a position that isn’t yours not only are you hindering those around you but you are slowly killing yourself. Stay where God wants you, don’t try and stray into positions just because the “grass looks greener”.

  44. 9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

The Levites belong to the Lord, they serve God. As a servant of God I humble myself to shine for the Lord
To use me and guide me to do his holy will.

  45. 15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded.

This is where we (me) want to be. I want to be numbered among God’s chosen, not put to death for sending up a strange fire. We (me) need to be careful how we minister the word of God. I know that I want God to look favorably on me that I have spoke the truth about his word and not sent up that displeasing aroma. I want all that I do and say to be that sweet aroma to God. I know that as I read this chapter, it spoke to me as family, God’s family and building his family to withstand an attack from the enemy. This is where God wants us (I) as Christians. He calls me and us to be numbered among the families and set into position for the spiritual battle that will begin shortly. So go and prepare your house, all of you, protect it all according to God’s will and stand upon his word. Build and strengthen your relationship with the everlasting Father…….God bless…Amen!!

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Jos 24:15

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; Psa 103:17

My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Pro 6:20

  46. 7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
what a privilege and a responsibility to keep charge of all of the things of the tabernacle. Sometimes we feel like unless we are in a prominent position we cannot be used of God, but then a Levite where used of God more than anybody else on a consistent basis in the Bible and their work was good the ministry. we should committ our selves to ministry of all types and always be willing to work for the Kingdom. we must do whatever needs to be done whenever it needs to be done at the time it needs to be done

  47. God protects his people

38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

There is nothing like having God on your side. Everyone knew not to mess with Gods house. Where has that respect gone? It has faded with the passion of the church. the power follows the passion.

  48. “Again GOD spoke to Moses. He said, “Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites are mine, I am GOD. Redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who exceed the number of Levites by collecting five shekels for each one, using the Sanctuary shekel (the shekel weighing twenty gerahs). Give that money to Aaron and his sons for the redemption of the excess number of Israelites.””
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭3:44-48‬ ‭MSG

The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever.

  49. 1 This is the account of the family of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai.

God kept account of the families, he still is keeping account of the families now. That’s MY FAMILY! God is keeping account but are we keeping account? Aaron may have thought that he was keeping account but maybe not over his whole family. In our families there are more than just your husband or wife, there are your children. And it doesn’t even stop there because there are cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. it depence on how much you keep account of your family!

  50. 51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

I used to not give offerings at times or even short them because I knew in my heart that the preacher was money hungry. That somehow I was helping him stay humble, not greedy. Why did I have to give after all the building is paid off, or with everyone giving I know that’s enough for the bills. Like if somehow I was doing them a favor! How ignorant! I didn’t realize I was cutting Gods hand of blessing to me and my finances short. Learning to give without reserve, without concern for my family and myself knowing that I am putting His kingdom first and that He will be supply all my needs and wants. Like a apostolic from the book of Acts.

  51. “So Moses counted all of the oldest sons in Israel. He did just as the Lord had commanded him. There were 22,273 of those sons who were a month old or more. They were listed by name.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭3:42-43‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Everyone that is part of the body of Christ is important. We all have a specific role Teufel feel. We must prefer one another, respect one another and live unity.

“Brothers and sisters, we ask you to have respect for the godly leaders who work hard among you. They have authority over you. They correct you. Have a lot of respect for them. Love them because of what they do. Live in peace with each other. Brothers and sisters, we are asking you to warn those who don’t want to work. Cheer up those who are shy. Help those who are weak. Put up with everyone.”
    ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:12-14‬ ‭NIRV‬‬
