Numbers 10

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.

18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

21 And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.

22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

25 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.

30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

  1. Return to Fort Worth

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of “Fort Worth”. We know is *Israel*, but I claim it by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ . I believe amor GOD CAN DO ALL THINGS! Nothing is impossible for our God!! He did it for Israel He will do it for Fort Worth oh wait and see. In Jesus Name Amen

  2. Verse 7 MSG says “The bugle call that gathers the assembly is different from the signal to march.” The Israelites new the different sounds of their caller (trumpets/bugles). This made me wonder, do we (recognize the voice of your Master)? If we do not have that close relationship with our Creator and Lord, then we may not hear the call.

Verses 11-36 MSG reminds us to let our praise (Judah) lead the way. JESUS today YOU will SAVE me, pray your daily prayer and ask as Moses did in verses 35-36 CEV “Each day as the Israelites began their journey, Moses would pray, “Our Lord, defeat your enemies and make them run!” And when they stopped to set up camp, he would pray, “Our Lord, stay close to Israel’s thousands and thousands of people.” Pray your enemies scattered and your Lord close.

  3. iLove to Grow in the Word
“Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month. And blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. The trumpets will remind your God of his covenant with you. I am the LORD your God.””
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The trumpet was a familiar instrument in Jewish culture because God himself designed the concept. When the books of the New Testament was written and delivered they understood the analogy and implications of the trumpet being sounded for the gathering of the last day church. Throughout the New Testament and also the throughout the New Testament and also the book Revelation, The word of God talks about the last trumpet being blown . This is the catching away…or what some might call…the “Rapture”. This concept was not new or foreign to the Jewish believers of the first century .

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:52‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  4. 2. Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

Ever heard the saying, “They don’t know if they’re coming or going”?

If we are too ‘caught up’ in what we have going on, we won’t be able to hear the trumpet of instruction and won’t know if we are supposed to gather together or pack up and move on.

  5. KEEP THE ARK

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

The ARK represents the presence of the LORD. The justice, judgement and blessing of the LORD are represented in the ARK. We have witnessed GOD fearing followers revere and esteem the ARK.

The ARK brought BLESSING, FAVOR and PROTECTION to those in its company. The ARK brought the divine FAVOR of GOD to his people. We no longer seek the ARK of GOD, for we have access the GOD of the ARK.

When we are filled with the HOLY GHOST, we are filled with the presence, glory and power of GOD.

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

People will come and go in our lives, seasons will come and go in our lives, positions and possessions will come and go in our lives. But, KEEP THE ARK. Keep JESUS the Christ in you, stay full of the Holy Ghost.

  6. “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”

If we praise him in our battles we will over come and he will hear us from heaven. Praise him in the good and the bad

  7. I love the imagery here. Judah (praise) led the procession. Wherever they went praise led the way. I guess you could say they praised in advance 🙂 then a few tribes followed and then the tabernacle was carried. Again followed by more tribes. Then the sanctuary was brought and followed by the remaining tribes.

The tabernacle is a holy place but what makes it a sanctuary is what is inside of it. Repentance, an altar of sacrifice, washing away of sins, the laver of water, the word of God, the shewbread, the ark, presence of God, the golden candlestick.
Everything was needed. If something wasn’t present then they would have not had a sanctuary. Today we need the same things inside our church for it to be a sanctuary for those seeking the Lord.

  8. 14 Judah’s troops led the way. They marched behind their banner, and their leader was Nahshon son of Amminadab. (NLT)

Praise first! I wonder what would happen if we led our lives with Judah?! It’s like what Pastor preached Sunday morning, to go at the enemy head on, if we led our lives with praise and stood firm like the rams Pastor used an analogy with, our enemies would go flying back like the weaker ram and scatter!

35 And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” (NLT)

  9. Numbers 10:9, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”

    Psalms 18…
    2) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
    3) I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    6) In my distress I called upon the LORD, and I cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

    17) He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

    48) He delivered me from mine enemies: Yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
    49) Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD….

So Thankful that the LORD hears our cries (our trumpets), and remembers us, and delivers and saves us from our enemies. What a MIGHTY God we serve!

  10. When we go in the name of Jesus, he will cover us. To go without the covering of the Lord is a very dangerous thing to do. We need to stay under the will of God in order to go from glory to glory.

  11. Pro 15:5 Moral dropouts won’t listen to their elders; welcoming correction is a mark of good sense. MSG
Pro 15:5 A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. KJV

Our parents may not be the smartest people in our lives. However, in most cases they have our best interest in mind. Do not go there. Do not say things like that. Consider the other persons feelings. Ray about that decision before making a judgement.

I am not naïve enough to believe that all parental advice is for the betterment of the child. There are some adults with only their own interest in mind. For the most part though, as a parent, I want the best that God has to offer for my children. Why do they sometimes not see it? I am not nor was I the perfect son. I had to find things out on my own as well. However, when someone I loved laid out the truth; I knew it was the truth. I love them for that because sometimes the truth hurts.

  12. 29 One day Moses said to his brother-in-law, Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, “We are on our way to the place the LORD promised us, for he said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised wonderful blessings for Israel!”

Very soon, we’ll be on our way to our promise also, the NEW Church!!

  13. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

  14. When the camp was to move, Judah went first-praise before the challenges of life. Then, Dan was the ‘ rereward’ or rear guard. It’s interesting to note that Jacob said Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horses heels. Who better to guard the rear from your enemies-a deadly foe. ‘Rise up, Lord, let your enemies be scattered!

  16. 33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

    Thank you jesus amen.

  17. And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

Let your past be the past. We must give up our past to have a future.

  18. 36) And when it rested he said return o Lord unto the many thousands of Israel

As I did bible study today I look at a empty room I tell my students that one day this class room Will be full with hungry souls as I said that the 2 student look around the room and at each other a shack their head every time i look at those 2 student I see 20 other students sitting there listening . I believe that by the end of the school year ever seat in that class room will be full

I thank all that Jesus is doing in western hill high school

  19. Numbers 10:35

35 And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”

They were slaves in Egypt but within a year they were soldiers in the army of the Lord. They did not have a clue how to fight, and to war. All they knew was making bricks, or whatever slave labor they were forced into.

With man nothing is possible but with God all things are possible!

  20. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

In our time of need he is always there, we just have to blow our trumpets, but when the battle is over we raise up our offering, our sacrifice of praise in remembrance that the enemy is defeated and we have the Victory because of what Jesus did on the cross!

  21. “Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month. And blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. The trumpets will remind your God of his covenant with you. I am the LORD your God.””
this first shows the importance of praise and worship in God talks about the use of the trumpet and how that that can be used to give God praise and to remember the covenant that God made with us. Music and singing Vibrant praise and worship has always been biblical and it will never stop being the way God wants it to be!

  22. 14 Judah’s troops led the way. They marched behind their banner, and their leader was Nahshon son of Amminadab.

Praising troops led the way! I know every one has played the game follow the leader. When you play it there is a leader being an example to the rest who are followers. The leader isn’t going to be doing boring things as an example they will most likely be jumping, raising there hands, and moving around. What will people see when they see us? I pray that as leader we will be examples to the guest that don’t know what to do, that when they see us they we will see us jumping and praising God and soon they will start praising God!

  23. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

God had to go first so Israel could get through safely . Israel could have neither direction nor safety unless the ark rested with them and the cloud of glory with it. They could have neither rested nor had comfort .

  24. 5 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
Hallelujah God will fight our battles we don’t have to worried about it! We don’t have to worry about our enemies. If God’s before us who can stand against us?!

  25. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.

  26. Communication from God and.between believers is vital for a journey to God’s promised land .
With the organization of.the.camp complete the Israelites left Sinai setting out on a out on a journey which promised them victory but which because of their own disobedience would lead to disaster .

  27. I hear a Sound of Victory

9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

We are the church militant meaning we are here on earth fighting aginst sin and waging war against the devil to enlarge the Kingdom of God. So, in the middle of battle when we blow the trumpet of “Praise” we are reminding God of His promies and of the prayer Jesus prayed for us in John 17

    John 17:20-23King James Version (KJV)

    20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

We are one with Him so we are Victorious! It is better to not waist your worry or breath on talking about the problem because that will not help but when we start to praise God hears and intervenes on our behalf.

  28. “Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for”. The word of God (Jesus) stated what the trumpets were to be used for, and the children of Israel were aware. When all are aware then much can be accomplished, however when only a few are aware then only a little will be accomplished. Dear God, help us to realize the significance of knowing your word. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. 36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

Moses understood that they needed the Lord; as it was the Lord, and not himself. It is important to remember anything can be accomplished with the Lord, whereas otherwise there are limits. God help us to be mindful that all power and protection is in you, in Jesus name.

  30. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

  31. 5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

We (I) have all heard about the sounding of the trumpets. When the trumpets sound, God will be calling his children home. Now is the time to prepare for the calling of God. Time here is short. The sound will come soon, will we (I) be ready for the Father to take us home. When we (I) sound our trumpet of praise does it go to the Lord as a sweet aroma. It is very important that God hears our (my) praise unto him. The Lord wants to hear the praises and answer them. Let all that we (I) do go up as our (my) trumpet of praise. Be ready for the upcoming war, the enemy
will do all to turn our (my) trumpet of praise against us (me). Prepare thine heart and mind to guard against the enemy. Sound your (my) trumpet to let God know that the way has been prepared……God bless…Amen!!!

Psa_150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Mat_24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

  32. “When you arrive in your own land and go to war against your enemies who attack you, sound the alarm with the trumpets. Then the Lord your God will remember you and rescue you from your enemies.
    Numbers 10:9 NLT

Blow your trumpet of praise to Jesus the Lord of Hosts and watch your enemies be scattered.

  33. Don’t go just yet

It is not time to leave the church or go your own way. God is not done. We have not seen anything yet. Sometimes only the leader can see what God has before you. We have to trust that he really does hear from God and follow knowing that God is with us.

  34. “When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭10:5-7‬ ‭KJV‬

To follow through with these constructions of the passage it takes obedience and unity from the congregation and great communication from the leaders.. My prayer is that our congregation grows in unity and communication with one another.

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:42-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  35. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

Do we know who our enemies are?
    We should only have one!
If there is more than one enemy………
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…….

  36. 9When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.

When we go into spiritual battle against the enemy we are sounding our trumpet with the mighty voice of tounges in the Spirit. We use the term Egypt or Babylon to symbolize the sin of this world used by the enemy.Too many times we are focused on the person who has this spirit of sinfulness and forget its not them we are against. We like the Israelites could have been living peacfully and the enemy came in like a flood attacking relationships and lives of those nearest and dearest to us. If we are not descerning of the spirit it can overtake us. We love the person, we cannot change the person or how they percieve us or react to sin. Casting out is for unclean spirits, not a human spirit. We could teach and preach til we are blue in the face and do no good if the person is unwilling to overcome the unclean spirit they are entertaining. Sin can spoil lives and relationships until they realize what they are up against and what they are fighting for. When we are ready to overcome, God will be right beside us in the battle to rescue is by knocking down the oppression of the enemy. I hear the sound of an army arising!!

  37. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

AMEN!!! Even if we can’t see Jesus physically we should know that He is always with us, He has our back and is our strength for when we are weak.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1
Especially if we know that we are doing His will, we should not worry about anything because He is the Creator. If its from God, why worry??? We have to be that sensitive and realize that Jesus has everything under control and will always supply our needs! In you I trust and will always trust Jesus!!!!!
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

  38. 34 And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.

Its very important to become sensitive to the Spirit of the Lord. Go when the Spirit says go and stop when the Spirit says so. They knew their routine and whatever was to do when the cloud moved, and they knew what they were to do when the cloud stopped. Knowing our place and what to do in our place is very important and makes everything flow like God intended it to flow.

  39. v3 And when they shall blow with them , all the assembly shall assemable themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

As we daily meet with GOD , we learn to discern
    HIS PRESENCE.

  40. v29 Talk about unselfish. As Christians, we grow toward perfection, addding godly characteristics day by day one day at a time.

  41. The people were ever ready to move because they were always listening for the trumpet. They knew that when the trumpet sounded, we have something to do. That has been lost to today’s generation. So many people just doing what they want. Jesus help us to listen for the trumpet and be ready with what we are supposed to do.

  42. 31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

Sometimes we need to let God be the eyes in our life, we let the distractions, the giants and the mountains that seem huge in the natural deter us from seeing what God sees. But if we let God give us a spiritual vision for our lives around us, our faith with increase and grow!
