Numbers 11

1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched.

3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.

4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.

8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the Lord was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

11 And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

18 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the Lord will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the Lord which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

23 And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord’S people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!

30 And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.

34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

35 And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.

  1. iLove to Grow in the Word

This first verse of the blog this morning is so powerful. After all God did for the children of Israel this is how they repay Him…complaining about their hardships…

“Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the LORD heard everything they said. Then the LORD’s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God does not like to hear the sound of complaining. He loves to hear praise and worship and prayer and joy, but to murmur and complain causes fire to arise… And it’s not good fire… But it’s fire of judgement.

I think everyone of us can relate to my next statement. Who among us have witnessed parents attempting to give the best to their children only to have those same children murmur and complain? Most of us dont like the sound of whining and most would agree feelings that are not associated with joy arose in our hearts…Now we must consider that in the eyes of God, we (no matter how old ) are children of God and anything other than praise and petition out of our mouths is comparable to that whining little child of ours…We,(I), need to grow to maturity and the Lord will open up “more” of the Kingdom.

  2. How quickly the people would forget from one event to the next. The people had just experienced the fire from God in verses 1-3; but, by verse 4, they were at it again. The Lord hears all things, knows all things and sees all things. So, be careful what you say (what you wish for) because you just might get it all (as one song says…can’t remember the name). Do not allow one person’s negative comments/thoughts or actions rub off on your ways or your walk with the Lord.

Verse 10 MSG says “Moses heard the whining, all those families whining in front of their tents. God’s anger blazed up. Moses saw that things were in a bad way.” This reminds me of how Pastor or parents, maybe sees us going down the wrong path and they see that things are in a bad way. We need to adhere to their warnings, as they may see what only God has revealed to them and is using them to reach/save us.

  3. Anyone ready for another 40 days of passion?

“So that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah (which means “graves of gluttony”) because there they buried the people who had craved meat from Egypt.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:34‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  4. 23. Then the Lord said to Moses, “When did I become weak? Now you shall see whether my word comes true or not!” TLB

This is a great scripture to remember when we are praying for something while struggling with the faith to believe it will come to pass.

When did God lose the strength to cast mountains into the sea?

When did His stripes lose their power to heal?

When did He lose the ability to fill Anyone with the Holy Ghost?

    Matthew 28:18 KJV
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

  5. 34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

We can’t allow ourselves to lust after the “good pleasures” of our former life in Egypt. Even if there where great desirable things we must leave them buried in the sea with Pharoah and his army.

For the moment we take a shovel and dig it up we are digging our own grave.

  6. “And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Murmuring and complaining is the root cause of selfishness. Our goal in life should be less of ourselves and more of Him. We should be passionate about the things of the kingdom of God. We’re not here to build our kingdom we are here to build his kingdom. Not my will but Your will My Lord.

“These are inveterate murmurers (grumblers) who complain [of their lot in life], going after their own desires [controlled by their passions]; their talk is boastful and arrogant, [and they claim to] admire men’s persons and pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage.”
    ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  7. There was a man at the cash register at QT this morning on the way to work. He said to his friend.

“I’m sorry bro but I got to have this nicotine I can’t go with out it. Let me have some money” and the friend gave in disappointment.

I thought wow. He had a lust for something you can live with out. Desperate for something that’s harmful. But seems harmless.

Hungry for things that might just kill you…

“And he called the name of that place Kibroth–hattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  8. And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord : and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. (‭Numbers‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ KJV)

Oh wow!!!! After seeing the mighty hand of GOD supplying all of their needs, and yet we still see and hear the complaints! I have no right to complain when things don’t go my way. My eyes have seen the goodness of our Lord. There should never be any room to complain, but to continue to TRUST IN THE LORD in all things. God is good, and he always take care of His children. In everything I will give thanks.

  9. We should not murmur and complain against God or our man of God. In times such as this chapter examples, we need to trust God and remember where He brought us out of and the troubles He saved us from. There’s a song that says, “careful what you wish for, you just might get it all and then some you don’t want.” I think it applies well here and we must remember these words and know God doesn’t like when His children are greedy and complain, He will serve consequences just like any father.

  10. 23 God answered Moses, “So, do you think I can’t take care of you? You’ll see soon enough whether what I say happens for you or not.” (MSG)

  11. 24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

  13. Numbers 11:4

4 Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. “Oh, for some meat!” they exclaimed.

God had already proved he was their provided. He protected them from the harsh climate conditions via the pillar of fire by night and the cloud by day. They may not have noticed but their sandals were not wearing our. He gave them water to drinks and manna each day.

Yet when they wanted meat, instead of asking the one who could supply and provide they complained like toddlers wanting a new toy in Walmart.

“Give me that toy or I won’t be your daughter anymore!” (Really heard that)

Our God is a loving a gracious father. He said for us to ask him and we SHALL receive. He is able to supply ALL of our need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus.

  14. Sometimes we don’t how good we have it until the Provider becomes tired of hearing the complaints.

20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the Lord which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

They had food. According to verse 8 it tasted of fresh oil. There was no labor involved in finding, hunting or fishing for manna; it came in the morning with the dew. I don’t believe youth today understand what it takes to keep food in a house. Children want cereal, they just open cabinet door, grab the box of their choice, get the milk, a bowl and spoon and bang – they can have their fill. As a provider I have been the recipient of the complaining ungrateful people. I don’t like this kind of cereal. I want this brand of cereal.

    ENOUGH

As the Lord did – fine, you will have this brand and flavor of cereal for the remainder of the year. There will be no other cereal in this house. Did it work; no, of course not. They complained about their own choices too. Is there no satisfaction in people today?

  15. 34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

Me mustn’t let ourselves get to the place where we begin to lust after who we use to be, the only reason we should ever look back is to see how far God has brought you. He took us out of that life of brokenness and made us new, there is nothing for us back in that old life!

  16. Carry Your Cross

1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

I was always taught that patience is taught through trials and tribulations. God in His immence wisdom put it this way in Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke made sure to emphasize DAILY!!!! I have always believe that JOY is a choice. We must make up our minds to be JOYFUL no matter what comes our way. Our emotions are that OURS, no one “makes” us mad. We allow others decisions to alter our emotions therefore giving others the power over us. We were never promised a path full of roses when we were born again and even the roses have thorns. I think that’s the biggest misconception of today’s society; we got the Holy Ghost, got baptized I. Jesus Name so now everything in my life is going to be peachy. Sorry, but no!!! It is then when the true battles will begin, John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal , and to kill , and to destroy : I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Before we were baptized life was a mess but we were part of the enemy’s team so we didn’t have to battle with him. Now, we are saved, we are His children, and the adversary will try every trick in the book to get us back. We all know that a negative report is evil, but how about complains and murmurring?? The bible is clear about that also for in Phillipians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
    15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Lord helps us to pick up our cross daily with JOY and walk the path in front of us without any complains or murmuring, so others will see YOU in us. In Jesus Name AMEN

  17. 24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

We should want to go to church, we should say we get to go to church not say we have to go church, we should be excited to go and worship God in the tabernacle!!

  18. 1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

well HALLELUJAH!!! This is super powerful…That is the last thing that I want to see is the anger of the Lord upon me!!!
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (BBE) In everything give praise: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Ephesian 5:20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
His Word says give thanks in everything! Not only when you feel like it, or only if you like something BUT in EVERYTHING!!!

  19. 18“Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed, “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will eat it. 19You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, 20but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it—because you have rejected the Lord, who is among you, and have wailed before him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”

We cannot bring with us the ways of our past into the place we are in the present or the place that God is taking us to. The people craved or “lusted” after things of their former lives the foods they used to enjoy, even though they were in bondage they looked for the pleasure they once enjoyed. If we come at God with this resistance their is turbulence coming our way. We cannot get where God is trying to take us if we are stuck thinking and perverting a gift God has given us as holy. This mentality of lust can ruin great things that were once strong and blessed of God, can overtake and bind back up. If we don’t allow God to deal with us it will bleed over into the next opportunity He leads us to. God wasn’t upset that they wanted more than manna to feed them, it was that they lusted after things of their past lives, despised their blessing God gave them, murmuring against it and rejecting it. God didn’t turn his back on them instead He gave them exactly what they wanted for a month straight -looking back to thinking “Why did we ever leave Egypt?” Thoughts can turn into words, words can turn into actions. Actions can build up or tear down. When Lots wife looked back she turned into a pillar of salt, if God gives you a way of escape like he did the Israelites from Egypt don’t look back! Run!

  20. 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

Israelite’s were complaining about not having enough food to eat like they used to eat in Egypt and now all they eat is manna. Moses prayed about the complaints from the people which he had no control over so God got angry at the people because they wanted to return to Egypt. God delivered the Israelite’s from Egypt and now they’d rather go back there, the Lord punished the greedy and gave them what they wanted. Be careful what you wish for because sin is not of God.

  21. Numbers 11:4-6 & 33-34
4-6, “And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.”

33-34, “And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague. And he called the name of that place Kib’roth-hat-taa-vah: because there they buried the people that lusted.”

Lust means feeling a strong desire for something – crave, desire, covet, want, wishing for, longing for, yearning for, etc..

James 1:15 says, “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

Don’t lust after the things of this world for it will only result in death if you do.

  22. WE NEED A MAN OF GOD

Two major revelations stand out in these 2 verses.

    1. GOD is displeased with and by complainers. So displeased that he executed judgement immediately.

    2. When the judgement of GOD falls on our arrogance and ignorant disobedience, our Man of GOD will be our only hope of staying the judgement of GOD.

I am thankful and humbled by the fact that GOD has allowed me to be a Leader in HIS Kingdom. May the LORD baptize us all with the attitude of gratitude, not the mentality of indebtedness.

    In ALL things give thanks!

It is 3:30am Wednesday here in Bangkok. Good Night and we are praying everyone has a BLESSED day. Find the GOoD in every day.

  23. 25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

When the Lord anoints you, you and everyone around you will know. The signs followed them that were anointed in that circle. Too many people try to build themselves up, whereas if they would let the Lord make place for the ministry He has given them, things would go a lot farther in their life.

  24. So you think it’s ok to complain?!?

1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched.
3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.

Stop complaining. First thing. No one wants to hear it. Second be blessed and know God is on your side.
So it looks like God doesn’t like complainers. If you want to know why your not being blessed, the question to ask yourself is have I been complaining. Because complainers don’t get blessed. They get burnt.

  25. 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR MANNA…God gave them food that had all the nutrients to keep them healthy, but they were not satisfied. ” Thank you God for this manna that you provided, but I need more. Sometimes we can take God’s goodness for granted! God provided all of their needs and they never saw a hungry day. If they were here today and was in bus ministry, they surely would be satisfied.

  26. 33) and while the flesh was yet between their teeth ere it was chewed th he wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people and the lord smite the people with a very great plague 34) and he called the name of that place kibroth hattaa vah because there they buried the people that lusted

  27. 31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.
the lust of the people of God got Them in big trouble. instead of being grateful for what God has done for them and what God has given them instead they decided to murmur and complain. As a result God actually gave them what they wanted but as soon as they prepare to partake in it judgment fell. We should be careful what we ask for everything is not as good as it seems. We should trust that God and the man of God knows what’s best and not lean to our own understanding.

  28. There’s a basic difference between Mose’s comlant and.that.of.the.people.Moses.complained.to God
.the people.complained about God . Sometimes we should.complain to God confident he will act.

  29. 26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

  30. And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

The Bible says that we displeased God when we complain. If you are going thru a trial doesn’t give us a right to complaint shout how messed up our lives are. There are always someone else that is in a worse predicament than you! Let’s not do what the Israelites did and doubt God and our leaders. If god is for us who can be against us? Lean not unto thine own understanding in all our ways we should acknowledged Him!

  31. 24 So Moses went out and reported the Lord’s words to the people. He gathered the seventy elders and stationed them around the Tabernacle.[b]

Build a bridge! Moses was a bridge between God and the people, he was the one that connect the two. I pray that God you will use me Lord to be a bridge between your people and you! For those that don’t have a connection with you use me to be that connect and help them find there connect for you!

  32. “And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’s hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.” Moses began to think and say in a manner in which he should not have. One is wise to remember God (Creator) needs no one, however everyone needs God (Jesus). Dear God, let us (me) remember much more can be accomplished through you (prayer) than by self. May God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  33. 33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague. 34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

The Lord will allow things, until the Lord, has had enough. The Lord had provided however they were not content, therefore their wants became all that was important. God help us too be content and not become full of our wants; over your will, in Jesus name.

  34. 23 And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

Sometimes we get so caught up with the here and now, totally forgetting that GOD IS IN CONTROL!!! HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  35. 1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

We should be careful not to fall into this trap of complaining. We see here how the Lord feels about it.

  36. 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the

It’s so crazy how easy the devil can make our “Egypt” look so appealing. That we can go back and say that we had so much fun, or how great it would be if we hadn’t left. We tend to forget pain, torment, the hardships God brought us out of. We forget we were hell bound destined for a life of torment. This happens so easily because we are trying to be in the things of God but our minds have not left the world and its lust.

Put your life in perspective, out your life on the balance, are you weighed into salvation?

  37. 1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

God hates complaining. No matter what is happening God expects us to have faith and believe that he is working things to our good.

Rom_8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

  38. Sometimes God will give you exactly what it is you’re asking for without you even realizing it’s something you don’t need. Just like the people who begged for meat, you will become bitter towards the thing you so desperately wanted. Be thankful for what you have.

  39. God’s Spirit Rests on Elders
Numbers 11:25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

    Acts 2:17,18
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh : and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old man shall dream dreams : And on my servants and on my hand maidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

  40. 11 And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

The cry of a hurt man.

Many times we are hurt by those who we sacrifice so much for. many times its even the very ones we are trying to help to safety. We have to remember that just as Pastor is our Man of God, and Moses was their Man of God, we too are someone’s example of Christ. question is what kind of Jesus are we showing them?

  41. 3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.
4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

No sooner had God judged the complainers in verse 1, the people began to complain again! In thinking about why they didn’t learn anything form the first judgement on complaining, I thought perhaps the people had no fear of God. They had no love, respect or fear. God was a supplier of their needs and wants but there was obviously no relationship there. I pray I’m not like these people and whine and complain about everything that goes south in my life. Help me Lord to develop a stronger relationship with you so that I praise my way through every trial.

  42. Numbers 11:16 The Lord said to Moses Bring Me seventy of Israel’s elders who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people. Have him come to the tent of the meeting that they may stand there with you. I will come down and speak with you there and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone. Tell the people consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed. If only we had meat to eat we were better off in Egypt! Now the Lord will give you meat and you will eat it. You will not eat it just one day or two days or five, ten or 20 days but for a whole month until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it because you have rejected the Lord who is among you and have wailed before him saying why did we ever leave Egypt.

  43. 17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone

This should be the prayer of every young minister. Let our Pastors spirit fall on us that we would be help in carrying the burden.

Why we shouldn’t be on the outside. . .
These people were burned up. Imagine consuming fire coming from seemingly nowhere, God, he burns up your friends. One minute they are there and the next, poof! Up in smoke. All because of discontent. The complaints of the people were herd by the Lord. It doesn’t say that he complaining was only in he outer parts of he camp, but it does say hat those were the parts that were consumed by the fire.

When we hear complaining we should run to the inner part of the camp so that we are not consumed by the anger of the Lord. We should seek the face of the Lord. These hints should help us to stay in a place where we do not fall into this grevious sin along with those who have traveled to the outside o the camp to complain.

  45. 23 And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

When God delivers us or gives us our miracle, he never does half or partly, he does it all the way, Because God is a provider. There may be times where it doesn’t seem like God only did a miracle half or most of the way, but we don’t know God’s plan and we don’t when he might finish a miracle… he just wants to make sure we are ready for it first.

  46. 2 Then the people screamed to Moses for help, and when he prayed to the LORD, the fire stopped.

It seems like the only time we scream is when we are under attack by the enemy. Then we want to someone to help and rescue us. Why cant we scream when things are going good, so the Lord can hear us at all times. God wants to hear our voice during the good and bad times.
