Numbers 28

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the Lord; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.

4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;

5 And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil.

6 It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.

7 And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the Lord for a drink offering.

8 And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

9 And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:

10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

11 And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;

12 And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;

13 And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.

14 And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.

15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the Lord shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the Lord.

17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

18 In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein:

19 But ye shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering unto the Lord; two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: they shall be unto you without blemish:

20 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth deals shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram;

21 A several tenth deal shalt thou offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs:

22 And one goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.

23 Ye shall offer these beside the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.

24 After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord: it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

25 And on the seventh day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the Lord, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

27 But ye shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year;

28 And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram,

29 A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;

30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.

31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.

  1. 2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

    3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the Lord; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.

  2. Verses 1-2 CEV “The Lord told Moses to say to the people of Israel: Offer sacrifices to me at the appointed times of worship, so that I will smell the smoke and be pleased.” This chapter speaks of the Laws of Offering….. the daily, the Sabbath, the monthly, the Passover, and the Festival of Harvest. What are we offering to the Lord? Is it pleasing?

  3. Proverbs 4:7
    Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. NLT

    It’s wise to get wisdom! Solomon showed that he already had some wisdom when God asked him to name anything he wanted. I like the way the Message Version states it…

    1 Kings 3:9
    “Here’s what I want: Give me a God-listening heart so I can lead your people well, discerning the difference between good and evil. For who on their own is capable of leading your glorious people?”

    Because where does wisdom come from? God, of course! But if we are not listening to the voice of God, we won’t hear Him we He tries to impart it to us.

    Lord, I also pray for a God-listening heart so that I may receive wisdom and everything else you have for me in Jesus Name, Amen!

  4. iLove to Grow in the Word

    “Prepare these special burnt offerings, along with their liquid offerings, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its accompanying grain offering. Be sure that all the animals you sacrifice have no defects.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭28:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    As I was reading this, I thought wow this is a lot of it would be very difficult to live in those days with all the sacrifices they had to keep up with. The truth of the matter is, there our lives today should be constant sacrifice of our own will.

  5. Numbers 28:3-4
    3) And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
    4) The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning,and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;

    This offering, one lamb offered in the morning and one lamb offered at even, was done daily and on a regular basis.

    Our offerings of prayer, praise, and worship to God should be done daily and on a regular basis as well.

    The Psalmist wrote…
    Ps. 5:3, “My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look-up.”
    Ps. 141:2, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”

  6. Offerings were by fire. So should our offerings of praise to God be through the fire of the Holy Ghost.

  7. Ye shall offer

    31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.

    In this chapter we see the words “yes hall offer” several times. We can look at our offerings as a must have to or I chose to look at it as this is what the one I love- God wants and so I willingly give to him.

    It’s the same in our relationships the people we love wants and needs things but we have to look at it as we are honored to take care of the needs of those we love. It is not a job or a task but a honor.

  8. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
    2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

    Moses just set in Joshua under the direction of the Lord to lead the people, and now, Moses is adding more to their plates?

    Many times although a baton is passed, the true transfer takes time. The people are still looking to Moses a this time for guidance from the Lord. Also, if there are harsh judgments or statutes to be set, if Moses does them before he passes, then the people are mad at Moses, not Joshua. This example is still lived today.

  9. A LIFESTYLE OF SACRIFICE

    10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

    We learn here that the children of Israel were commanded to bring an offering everyday to the LORD. Meat to be offered on the altar. Then on the sabbath, on Sunday to bring a special offering that is above our daily offering.

    Makes me curious to what our lives would be like if we gave something everyday to the LORD, either to the work of the LORD (church), or the people of GOD, buying a meal of cup of coffee or a tank of gas.

    WISDOM: Bring your money to church, give gifts to others.

    Nevertheless, the people of GOD planned and lived their lives accordingly. They gave of themselves to purpose of GOD. They lived A LIFESTYLE OF SACRIFICE.

    May JESUS help us today to examine ourselves to see whether we are of the FAITH and if we are giving MORE to GROW ourselves or MORE to GROW the Kingdom of GOD.

    Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  10. 31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.
    Again it is telling us the first 10% of our earnings belong to God and that is above our IFT and offerings and other duties we have. I have learned the hard way that when we rob God of our tithes he will get what is due to him and in the long run the tithes were cheaper than the cost or whatever happened. Our first to God is putting him first in our lives.

  11. 2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

  12. Numbers 28:3-4
    3) And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
    4) The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning,and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even
    in these two verses we see a continual sacrifice being made on a daily basis. In like manner are sacrifices of praise worship prayer giving etc should be consistent every day. we should always have a willingness to spend time with God in His Word and with worship and you have our daily sacrifice.

  13. CHRIST SACRIFICE FOR YOU AND ME

    30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.

    ATONEMENT to make amends or reparations
    When something is repaired you can still see evidence of where it broke.

    Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    REMISSION – cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty.
    When something is cancelled is gone no one will call you anymore trying to collect for the debt, you don’t have to go to court when charges are dropped, everything is erased leaving no evidence of ever existing
    THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS WHAT CHRISTMHAS DONE FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US. There is nothing need for sacrifices, no burning offerings, the only offering needed is the acceptance of Christ sacrifice for you and the sacrifice of your life surrendering to His by Baptism in Jesus Name. Our daily sacrifice of flesh by putting flesh under submission to Holiness. Thank you Jesus for shedding ALL your precious Blood for us when we did not deserve it. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

  14. 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

    4 The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even;

  15. Numerous times in this chapter the phrase “a sweet fragrance before the Lord” is mention.

    Are we offering a “sweet fragrance” before the Lord? Is what I’m doing sending up pleasure to Him?

    How many times we have walked by a candle shop in the mall or area in the store and the fragrance they were advertising was not pleasing to our nostrils. I wonder sometimes if that is how God feels when we continually grumble and complain about things that are not important, or have a stinking attitude about things that don’t amount to anything, yet we feel the necessity to grumble, complain and grip anyway.

    The Lord help us to check ourselves daily to be sure the fragrance I am sending up to the Lord and giving off to those around me is Christlike and pleasing in His sight.

  16. 3 And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the Lord; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.

    A continual offering, day by day. The offering was planned and sacrificed every day, it was never meant to be just thrown together last minute and then given to God. Our lives should be daily sacrifice. Prepared daily for God.

  17. 2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.

    This is my prayer. That my sacrifice will be a sweet savor unto the Lord.

  18. 2“Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food. See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions.

    Offering sacrifices in the morning and the evening. Lord is saying, I’m available at all times. Bring your worries, problems and prayers to me at any time of the day.

    Psalm 55:16 But I will call on God, and the LORD will rescue me.
    17 Morning, noon, and night I cry out in my distress, and the LORD hears my voice.

  19. v26 If we do not give with the right attitude, our giving will not benefit us.
    CAIN gave an offering because he had to, but Abel gave what GOD expected ” Of the firstings of the flock and of the fat
    It all has to do with our attitudes and obedience.

  20. 1 The Lord said to Moses,
    2 “Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food. See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions. (NLT)

    Is what we offer God pleasing to Him? I mean, how would we react if we were given a gift we either didn’t want or a gift that failed to meet our expectations? God deserves so much more than our routine “God is good, God is great” blah blah blah… If we want more from Him, how much more should we be offering Him? Like our relationships, we are much more likely to give a nice gift or a gift at all if someone were to return the favor. How can we expect God to just go down our checklist and bam do it all… Uh no, He’s waiting on us to offer Him a sweet and pleasing offering and praise.

  21. 8 And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

    When we willingly offer our tithe to the Lord it is received as a sweet savour to Him. But when we grudgingly give to Him it is received as a sour taste to Him. God wants us to willingly and happily give to him, and He gave us the greatest example of this when He willing gave himself for us!! If He gave His life for us, the least we can do is give back what He has blessed us with!!

  22. 31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.

  23. 3) And thou shalt say unto them this is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD two lambs of the first year without spot day by day for a continual burnt offering 4) the one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even 8) And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even : as the meat offering of t the morning and as the drink offering thereof thou shalt offer it a sacrifice made by fire of a sweet savour unto the LORD

  24. You are worthy our Lord and God to receive glory.and honor and power for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being .

  25. 6 It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.

    The Lord commanded sacrificial burnt offerings for a sweet savior. God wants us to give him Our 100% fire.

  26. The Feast of Firstfruits
    28:26 Also in the day of the first fruits, when you bring a new meat offering unto the Lord, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

    Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one Accord in one place.

  27. My DADDY IS WORTHY OF ALL THE PRAISE!!! HALELUJAH!!! LORD, LET MY OFFERING OF WORSHIP AND PRAISE BE A SWEET SWEET AROMA BEFORE YOUR PRESENCE

  28. 18 In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein:

    25 And on the seventh day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

    The Lord (Jesus) instructed the children of Israel how to begin, and also how and when too end. There was order provided then, just as there is too be now. Dear God, help to see that you are a God of order. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. “Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.” The Lord required not only an offering, but also that it would be done at specific times. We should be thankful that a blood sacrifice is no longer required, however an offering is still in order. God help us to see the benefit of an offering, in Jesus name.

  30. Pro. 4:1-2Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

    Why do young people consider the advice of their parents to false or not worth listening to? I was rebellious as a young man; but never to the point to destroy my life. It seems this generation must make their own mistakes so they can “live their own life”. Well, happy trails.

    Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

  31. Numbers 28:30

    30 Also, offer one male goat to purify yourselves and make yourselves right with the Lord.

    Pure and right.

    Pure is clean and undefiled. Right or righteous is morally right, justifiable, virtuous.

    What does it take to be pure and right before God? I believe it is sacrifices. Except now we do not offer up sheep and goats. Jesus is the perfect lamb offered for our sins. I believe by submitting ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable into God we come before him pure and righteous.

  32. In this chapter it was a constant reminder that we should give whole heartedly. We shouldn’t give just because its a commandment. We owe God everything, its not our own to keep. I also was reminded that its not just money we need to give, but also our talents and our abilities. God gave that to us! Its because of him we have what we have.

  33. Prepare these special burnt offerings, along with their liquid offerings, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its accompanying grain offering. Be sure that all the animals you sacrifice have no defects.
    Numbers 28:31 NLT

    We must make sure our offering must have no defects whether it be of time talnet or trrasure, our Lord deserves the best. Our worship should be a sweet aroma to the Lord.

  34. This was no easy task. The amount of resources and time to do these offerings required much. It is interesting how contemporary Christianity believes that they can get away with doing so little with a superficial relationship with God. There is much more to it than many believe.

  35. 1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food. See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions.

    God gave us the offerings because everything is his but it’s the way we give back to God which determines if he will receive it. God wants a pleasing, sweet aroma of an offering. I pray that God I will give that sweet offering to you and nothing less!

  36. 11 And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;

    Our offerings to God should be without spot or blemish, we need to give our best to God

  37. God doesn’t just want us to do things willie nilly, but he wants things to be in order. These plans were given to show how we should continueously be thinking and praising him, offering gifts for his great goodness all the time. We shouldn’t take it for granted that God does great hints for us
