Deuteronomy 4

1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the Lord thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

4 But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day.

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lord said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

12 And the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

14 And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20 But the Lord hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

21 Furthermore the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

25 When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.

28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.

36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

37 And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.

41 Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

42 That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

43 Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

44 And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

45 These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

46 On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

47 And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

48 From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

49 And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.

    “Obey them completely, and you will display your wisdom and intelligence among the surrounding nations. When they hear all these decrees, they will exclaim, ‘How wise and prudent are the people of this great nation!’”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Contrary to what the enemy tries to make us think, true Apostolic doctrine does not drive away those in the world, but it is what actually draws them to us. The world is looking for genuine faith and will not settle for fake Christianity

  2. 9. “But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen God doing for you. May his miracles have a deep and permanent effect upon your lives! Tell your children and your grandchildren about the glorious miracles he did. TLB

    Too quickly we forget what glorious things God has done for us. When we find ourselves going through a rough spot and wonder if He can or will deliver us, we must learn to recall the many times that He has already brought us through.

  3. 9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

    If we cannot save ourselves, how do we expect to be an example for our family to follow? These people seen with their own eyes what the Lord did and continues to do. Yet there was still disbelief and impatience. Imagine for a moment you are standing on the sea shore and God parted the sea and you walked on dry ground. Imagine you drank water that came from a stone. Yet, still we do not believe.

  4. 36 From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

    Sometimes it seems like Gods voice is not as close as I would like it. Yet, I’ve found that it has trained me to block out the background noise and tune in. There are other times the trials of life seem strong and or the fiery darts of the enemy are coming my way yet His voice is as loud as thunder. “I will be with you; I will fight for you.” So. I take a deep breath and STAND. I may be down on my knees in prayer but I am still standing.

  5. 39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
    We can run but we can’t hide!!! HALELUJAH!!! GOD IS GOOD!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  6. 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
    Oh my this verse hits home today, why do people only read what they want to so that they make themselves feel better. We cannot add to the word or take away from the word. It floors me to see post on facebook about how much someone loves God and yet the same mouth they proclaim that the love they have for God is spitting out words of gossip, hatred and foul language. God help us to fail into a temptation that makes us feel good just reading half of the word and accepting half of the word. I am so thankful for a Pastor that preaches us the truth and what hurts us makes us stronger as long as we follow God’s plan. The word doesn’t change we change, God doesn’t leave us but we leave him. If it was wrong back in the day of old then it is wrong today. Reading this chapter and verse reminds me of the song as kids we sang back in the day:
    He’s still working on me to make me what I ought to be
    it took him just a week to make the moon and the stars
    the sun and the earth and Jupiter and mars how loving and patience
    he must be he’s still working on me

    there really ought to be a sign upon my heart don’t judge me yet
    I’m an unfinished heart but i’ll be perfect just according to his will cause he’s still working on me

  7. 23-24 So stay alert. Don’t for a minute forget the covenant which God, your God, made with you. And don’t take up with any carved images, no forms of any kind—God, your God, issued clear commands on that. God, your God, is not to be trifled with—he’s a consuming fire, a jealous God.

  8. 2 Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. (NLT)

    Trying to change or adjust instructions to what we think may be best or better can and will cost us. Trust God and follow His exact word!

  9. CONTINUE ON TO GROW

    29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
    30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
    31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

    Temptation and sin are a part of life as we know it, since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, satan has continually temped men and women to disregard GOD, HIS laws and statutes. Most of us have succeeded at this failure in one way or another.

    What the adversary satan fails to reveal is the fact of the Grace and Mercy of GOD. The adversary cannot relate to this wonderful gift.

    What we as believers in JESUS must remember and celebrate in seasons of tribulation is the fact that all we must do is turn Northward to the LORD and be OBEDIENT to HIS voice (HIS WORD, HIS SPIRIT and HIS SERVANT).

    We will CONTINUE ON TO GROW as we seek HIM with our whole heart and soul. Not attempting to fit our GOD into our busy lives, but turning our live to fit in with a busy GOD.

  10. 23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

    24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
    God wanted to make sure that his people never forgot him or the Covenant that he made with them. He did not want them to make anything that they could worship other than him the one true God. God is a jealous God and does not want us to put anything before him there is nothing more important than him we must remain faithful to him and him alone and remember where our help comes from.

  11. Deut. 4:3:4
    3) Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal-peor: for all the men that followed Baal-peor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
    4) But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

    One definition of Cleave means to adhere closely to; stick to; cling to; or remain faithful to. Another definition said Cleave means oddly enough – it can describe sticking to something like glue.

    The men who followed Baal-peor were destroyed by God, but the ones who were alive were those who Cleaved (adhered closely to, stuck to, clung to, be faithful to) to God. They stuck to Him like glue.

    No matter what others are doing around us in these last days, for we know what their end shall be, in order for us to stay Alive in Christ, we have to have a made up mind to Cleave (adhere closely to, stick to, cling to, be faithful to) to God
    We have to Stick To HIM Like Glue !

  12. 35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.
    36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

    Have you ever had a one sided conversation? You know the one that the other person just won’t be quiet long enough for you to say anything. Well. My question is how do we treat God when we pray? Is it help me, and do this. Bless this or I cast out that. And although all that is right and good. When was the last time during your prayer that you really heard God. We as Christians say that we have a relationship with him, but a relationship is two way. Which means you must let the other party have just as much “say” as you do. So take time and listen. You might get direction about that situation you’re praying about. Or confirmation about something that’s happening in your life. Be still and know that he is God. Remember that prayer can be a ” burning bush” moment if you’ll allow it to be. Let’s move northward!

  13. 9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

  14. 4 Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. 2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. (NIV)

    OBIDIENCE, OBIDIENCE, OBIDIENCE!!! Obedience is everything! Even when we want to and don’t want to do. Obedience will take you further than you ever thought. Don’t add or take away anything that the Lord has commanded you to do. Keep His commands for He has a promise for each and every one of us. Jesus is faithful and will never forsake us. He is always watching us and looking at our hearts, What type of fragrance are you sending to the Lord? Are we hot or cold for the Lord? Obidience, Obidience, Obidience!!!!

    Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Eph. 5:1-2

  15. “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.
    Deuteronomy 4:9 NLT

    It is our duty as belivers and followers of Christ, to share this gospel to younger generations and teach them the commandments and precepts of the Lord. As well, we are to share with every one the great news of salvation. Like Paul said it:
    I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
    Romans 1:14-15 KJV

  16. 39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

    40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
    There is no other, He is God almighty , he created me, He loves me, He saved me, He is awesome and he deserves more than what I can ever do!

  17. 6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

    7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

  18. 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

    30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

    31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

  19. 21 Furthermore the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

    22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

    23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

    In our chapter today, Moses didn’t turn away from following, but because of disobedience in an area of his life, he could only see the land, not possess it and the people had to go on without him.

    It is a sad day when we must bypass the one who has been our spiritual leader because they have chosen a different path, a path of disobedience, or no longer follow was truth, and now walk a path we call deception.

    Regardless, we must strong that no matter who follows Jesus, we are going to continue on the narrow path. The bible warns us that few there be that find that path, but we must continue striving to find it and walk there in.

  20. We are instructed not to change one jot or one tiddle of Gods word. We must strive to obey the word and keep Gods commandments.

  21. 9) only take heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life but teach them thy sons and thy sons ‘sons

    Never forget what what all the Lord doses for us

    • Unto thee it was shshewed that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God there is none else beside him

  22. God’s word is perfect just the way it is. We don’t need to try to add to it or take away from it. We must learn how to take his word as is. Too many people try to change the word of God to justify their life style. His word is forever settled in heaven.

  23. Deuteronomy 4:26
    26 “Today I call on heaven and earth as witnesses against you. If you break my covenant, you will quickly disappear from the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy. You will live there only a short time; then you will be utterly destroyed.

    Who is watching and who will see it? When we are all alone and our character is tested?

    God says that the covenant we made with him was made in front of all heaven and earth. He will call them to witness against us if we break our covenant.

    However this also means that when we keep our covenant with God all heaven and earth recognize it as well.

    What would we rather have: a good testimony that declares God’s glory and wonder to all heaven and earth, or a broken covenant where all heaven and earth testifies against us?

  24. v 4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your GOD are alive every one of you this day.

    We depend on GOD to keep us. HE IS ABLE to preserve HIS people without fault until we are in HIS presence.

  25. Deuternomoy 4:6 MSG
    Pay attention: I’m teaching you the rules and regulations that God commanded me, so that you may live by them in the land you are entering to take up ownership. Keep them. Practice them. You’ll become wise and understanding. When people hear and see what’s going on, they’ll say, “What a great nation! So wise, so understanding! We’ve never seen anything like it.”

    We must be willing to pay attention the signs that God is trying to give us. Often times we miss out several things because we are distracted and not pay attention the signs in which God is giving us to get our attention!

  26. 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
    Gods word is already settled in heaven. We can’t take out words that God established. We shouldnt try to change the word of God. It doesn’t matter what you try to take out or put in. Gods word will never change! God will never change. This is very encouraging to know that we can lean and trust in Gods word!

  27. Not only is God a jealous God but He is also personal. He takes things we do/say personally and in turn He responds to us in a personal manor. God speaks to each of us in a different way. By this He allows us to see the unique relationship we have with Him. No other god will personalize themselves for you. There is only one true living God.

  28. 23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

    24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

    Take heed lest Ye forget. We need to remind ourselves of our covenants with God. Remind ourselves of his statutes and commands or we will break them. We need to be diligent in serving Him.

  29. therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.” The word of God (Jesus) is clear enough, for one that wants. One should not wonder why things happen to a nation, as the word of God (Judge) is again very clear. One that cannot see the necessity of praying for one’s nation, may one day not have a nation to pray for. Dear God, open our eyes and ears to the deception and corruption, so that we would pray. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  30. “But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day.” The rules are truly simple. The way of the Lord leads to life, whereas the way not of the Lord leads to death. God help us that we would not be hesitant in choosing the way that leads to you, in Jesus name.

  31. 25 When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger:

    30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

    How do you repair the altar in your life after it has been torn down? Seek God, seek Him first, and seek Him with all your heart and soul. Call upon Him, be turned from sin, and obey His voice. The plan for Israel’s blessing included a plan for repentance when they stumbled, and it is a plan for us today as well. Repairing the altar in our lives may not be quick and easy but it is part of God’s plan and purpose for His people and we cannot effectively do His will without a repaired altar.

  32. 26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

    27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.

    28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

  33. 6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
    7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

    The people that know their God and obey him are a blessed people. Seek him first and He gives wisdom and understanding to those who seek it.

  34. Verses 5-6 MSG “Pay attention: I’m teaching you the rules and regulations that God commanded me, so that you may live by them in the land you are entering to take up ownership. Keep them. Practice them. You’ll become wise and understanding. When people hear and see what’s going on, they’ll say, “What a great nation! So wise, so understanding! We’ve never seen anything like it.” We must keep and practice the same today.

    Verse 9 MSG “Just make sure you stay alert. Keep close watch over yourselves. Don’t forget anything of what you’ve seen. Don’t let your heart wander off. Stay vigilant as long as you live. Teach what you’ve seen and heard to your children and grandchildren.” We must look out one for another, pray for one another and teach/share what we’ve seen/heard…share the good news of Jesus with ALL.

  35. 9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

    Don’t let your passion die because you let yourself fall into this world! Don’t forget what you saw of blind eyes being open, the Holy Ghost that falls down on us during praise and worship, how God moves through new guest! For the youth at NTYC don’t forget what you saw on Friday night, how God moved through each and every one of us! Don’t lose this passion for God! Dont let the fire die but let it start an everlasting fire that will start a wild fire in region of Fort Worth!

  36. 2Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you.

    So many want to interpret the Word so it fits their desires. Why can’t people read and obey the Word instead of trying to twist it around.

  37. 5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

    6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

    There is more to obedience than just doing as told. We must also be able to keep the statutes, which means even the things that we don’t want to do.
    There was a mighty man of God who once said , “Submission begins when we begin to disagree.”

  38. 9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

    We think of life as a race at time, we cross the finish line and we’re done, I’d say it should be more like a relay hand off, where our children are handed the baton, to keep and not drop the gospel of truth, living in holiness, baptism in Jesus name, speaking in tongues, radical praise and worship to God, fear and admiration to God and his kingdom, soul winning, warfare prayer, stomping on the devil, etc. We need to set the bar in the stratosphere, teaching them to keeping all of these things in excellence.

  39. In Deut 1-3, Moses reminds the people who they are. In Deut 4 he tells them who God is. He begins by stating the very real fact that their God is not like the gods of gold, silver, wood and stone that can be bought or sold. God reveals himself to them through his voice, a voice they all clearly heard (vs12). Once again Moses reminds them of the importance of Gods Word (Deut 1:39). Focusing on who we are and who God is instead of the problem in front of us is how we are going to get the victory God has in store for us.
