Deuteronomy 30

1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee,

2 And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

3 That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.

4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

5 And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7 And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

  1. “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the LORD your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the LORD, you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭19-20‬ NLT)
    I choose life. Why would I want it any other way? I want The Lord to rejoice over me. It’s His desire to give me rest, peace, joy, provision, health not only physical but most importantly a health spiritual life! He doesn’t want our hearts to be hardened or to ever turn from Him, but to surrender our heart unto Him through obedience.

    Wow, God gives us the choice whether we want to be blessed in this life or whether we want to be cursed. He gives us the guidelines for both blessings and curses. It actually goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. The question is who are we going to serve? The Lord has never let me down, I choose to be blessed

    Joshua 24:15
    And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:

    but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

    Following God’s Word will bring blessings, while disobedience brings curses and death. Repentance for our sins and disobedience will cause God to help and protect us from our enemies.

It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.”

    “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.”

  7. If you love God you’ll keep his commandments and statues. Do what he does and says.

    “In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.”

  8. 6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
    Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Ps.51:10

    that is my daily prayer that God create in me a heart that I will love as he loves and see people as he sees people.

  9. For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy.

    If you want to live a good and long life in the land that GOD will give you, we will have to live GOD and obey HIM too

    This is why our praise means so much more than the angles, because we have a choice. The unfortunate thing is that although we have the opportunity to choose life, so many choose death. Many chose death because they believed a lie, but some choose out of ignorance, because by not purposefully choosing life, we choose death.
    Let’s reach to everyone around us, and give them a chance to choose life, and when they do, lets help them to stick with their choice.

    I am thankful today that GOD gives us the power to choose. We express our love for HIM when we CHOOSE to obey his voice and we position ourselves for HIS promises.

    Obedience is the pathway to HIS BLESSINGS. Cleaving to GOD Is the companionship we need for HIS BLESSINGS.Possessing the Promises of GOD is the place we live in HIS BLESSINGS.

  12. 8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

  13. 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

    What a privileged people we are the words and presence of God are always within reach. I cannot imagine worshipping a god that does not respond. Our world is full of gods created by men and their fanatical followers are so hungry for a relationship they blindly follow. What a blessed people we are to sever Jesus!

  14. 11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

    12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

    13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

    14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

    How blessed are we that the word of God is not hid from us? That we do not have to traverse the world in search of understanding. But it is nigh unto us. Just like Jesus is as close as the mention of his name, his truth is available to us if we seek it with our heart.

    I Love You God…Don’t count me out! I NEED YOU LORD!

  16. You don’t need that.

    6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

    Have you ever felt God just cut you? Maybe the word pricked your heart? We must guard our hearts from the enemy. And allow God to cut away those things that we don’t need in our hearts. The cutting away of things we just don’t need. So allow him to cut away at you and allow the word to speak.

  17. 15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

    16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
    God gives his people a choice each day to determine the path that they will take. he allows us to choose life or death through our actions. he desires to bless his people but as brother Smith preached last night our reaction will determine God’s action!

    Commit yourself whole heartedly to God and he will take you out of that mess you’ve been in and will take you to far greater things that you would ever imagine!!

    The choice is up to each of us. I want to choose living for God over anything else so that my heart can be circumcised and that of our children and grandchildren to know truth and walk there in.

    And for those who have fallen away from our immediate family and from our church family, my prayer is that they will remember the blessings and the curses that come with being/or not being a child of God. Once they return, then my prayer is that God could circumcise their heart and cause them to have a deep love for Him, that they may serve Him with all their heart.

  25. 16 in that i command thee this day to love the lord thy God to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments and his judgments that thou mayest live and multiply. And the lord thy god shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it

  26. 4 Even though you are banished to the ends of the earth, the LORD your God will gather you from there and bring you back again. 5 The LORD your God will return you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will possess that land again. Then he will make you even more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors!

    Who would have ever thought that Israel would have become a nation again. But it happened after WW II, as predicated by God. Not any piece of land would do, but the original land where Abraham, Isaac & Jacob occupied. Israel has become a nation that is larger, stronger and richer than at anytime in history.

    The key to be blessed is to love our God, obey His cammandments and commit everything to Him. That is a promise the Lord gives us but it is also a choice God does not force anyone to serve and follow him but instead He gives us a chance to make the right decision.

  28. Deuteronomy 30:2-3 (NLT)
    2 If at that time you and your children return to the Lord your God, and if you obey with all your heart and all your soul all the commands I have given you today,
    3 then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes. He will have mercy on you and gather you back from all the nations where he has scattered you.

    God wants us blessed and prosperous. He wants us healthy and living with him. He wants us sitting in heavenly places and enjoying the joy of the Lord. He wants us to have these things because he loves us. However even though his love is so phenomenally big he will not force us. He give us the choice but he made it easy to understand.

    In loving the Lord your God hearing his voice and being true to him for he is your life and.by.him will your days be.long so that you may.go on.living.in.the.land which the.lord.gave.by an oath to your fathers Abraham Isaac and Jacob .

    I’m so thankful that God isn’t the kind of God that expects us to obey and he doesn’t even stay true to his word. Gods word doesn’t lie. Psalms 119:89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. I’m so thankful that when we obey his wordand listens to his comands that he blesses us!

    Give your self fully to God and you’ll get back what was yours and you’ll see things That you’ve never seen before

    The choice is ours. Today and always Lord, I chose obedience!

  33. “And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.” The word of God (Jesus) was very clear, which is all the more reason why one should pray for Israel and Jerusalem. Dear God, let it be so in Jesus name. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  34. “If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.” The decision to serve the Lord is for each of us too make. Although the choice seems clear the deceiver has and continues to do all he can to entice and draw hearts away from the Lord. God help us see and hear, in Jesus name.

  35. Moses defines life as not merely living, but living well, living abundantly. Jesus said that he had come that we may have life more abundantly (John 10:10). We do so by loving God, listening to his Word and holding fast to his Word and holding fast to Him. Moses repeatedly reminds the Isrealites that the only choice that will guard them, guide them, and guarantee living well is the choice to love God with all their heart, soul and mind- to turn their hearts toward him in struggle and in victory, in daily life and in the drama that comes in life, in times of faith and moments of doubt.

    We can make the choice for life when that choice is hard, when doing so requires every ounce of faith we have. This becomes our reality when we believe that each moment in which we love God, listen to His Word, and cling to Him then are we really living!

    What great promise we have when our hearts are right with God and we are walking in obedience. Growth theough obedience is plentiful in many areas and it also makes God rejoice over us or proud of us!

  37. Today we have a choice between life and death. Many people choose death. It is a spiritual death. Life is better. If we are immortal, life on earth is but a blink of an eye. I can’t imagine suffering forever. How horrible! Yet many people will simply because they chose to find their lives in this life rather than lose it for Christ’s sake (Matt 13).

  38. 6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.7 And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

    WOW!!!! This chapter tells u what will happen if we love or deny the Lord!!!!! If we just love the Lord with everything we have inside of us the Loud take care of us. This is amazing!!!! Now I know why things happen to those that don’t love the Lord.

  39. 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

    They taught the word to their children: when they rose up, when they sat down and when they went out… so they knew his word. Moses tells them it now their choice to live it and be blessed, or reject it and be cursed. But he also makes provision for them to repent and return to God.

  40. 11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

    12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

    Every human being is presented with the same power and opportunity if choice. The Word of God is not far from anybody. The choice whthede we read and adhere to it to have life is ours. Or ignore or reject it will lead to death.

  41. “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.”(Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:14‬ ‭NKJV)

    We should interact ourselves with the WORD of GOD for we all know that GOD’s word is the source of our lives and applications. If our passion isn’t as deeper as our hunger and prayer life and Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus Christ throughout all generations, for ever and ever!   43. Choosing life is more than Jura one time thing. It is something that has to occur over and over. It is a series of constant choices to not choose idols or self. It is a series of constant choices to only have one God that you fully seek after with your whole heart.
