Deuteronomy 32

1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

6 Do ye thus requite the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

8 When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

9 For the Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

19 And when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?

31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

35 To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

36 For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

44 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:

46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

48 And the Lord spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:

50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

  1. How have you forgotten The LORD!

“For the people of Israel belong to the LORD; Jacob is his special possession. He found them in a desert land, in an empty, howling wasteland. He surrounded them and watched over them; he guarded them as he would guard his own eyes. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so he spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions. The LORD alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods. He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields. He nourished them with honey from the rock and olive oil from the stony ground. He fed them yogurt from the herd and milk from the flock, together with the fat of lambs. He gave them choice rams from Bashan, and goats, together with the choicest wheat. You drank the finest wine, made from the juice of grapes. (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭32‬:‭9-14‬ NLT)

it is sad to know and see that many have turned their backs and walked away from such great salvation! From beginning of time The Lord has had nothing but good toward us. And many have left, slowly but surely. It begins with wanting and desiring what the lust of the flesh desires. Fame, money, drugs, sex…whatever draws you away from The Lord. But these are the devices that as a “Christmas” we should be aware of and not become numb to them. It’s anotherf trap of the enemy to catch you off guard.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ KJV)

GOD has purpose for your life. The enemy(satan) has a purpose for your life. But it all comes down to the choices you make for your own life. What will it be? Life or death?

So whenever you feel as your slightly slipping away….remember where GOD has brought you out of. And return to your first love.

  2. Learn from the experiences of your elders so you would have to pay the same price.

  3. iLove to Grow in the Word

Deuteronomy 32:16-17 KJV (16) They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. (17) They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

Oh wow, these verses give us insight into the sacrifice of idols. So, according to this verse, the sacrifice to idols was more than rituals but actually implies worship to devils. No wonder the Lord takes it so personal. It is spiritual fornication with demons.

  4. Oh be careful before you go too far…

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

God will only put up with our willful sinning for a season. He is merciful and full of grace but there is end. I cannot imagine – nor do I want to imagine – a life without the Lord being a constant help. I am not perfect but I am learning. There was a time when I trusted in my own abilities and knowledge. This plan did not get me too far. Consider Proverbs 8:18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

What a horrible world and life this would be without the Lord on our side, fighting and protecting us.

Genesis 6:3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive and remain with man forever, because he is indeed flesh [sinful, corrupt—given over to sensual appetites]; nevertheless his days shall yet be a hundred and twenty years.”
    Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  5. 39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

    That’s my GOD!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! YEAH!!

  6. Deuteronomy 32:40
For I lift up my hand to heaven and say I LIVE FOREVER

we live forever in gods eyes and we must follow what god wants us to do so we can live forever in heaven. Grow with Jesus Amen

  7. “”You and Aaron disobeyed me in front of the Israelites. It happened at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin. You did not honor me among the Israelites as the holy God. So you will see the land. But you will see it only from far away. You will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭32:51-52‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

What a tragedy disobedience caused. Instead of entering into the land of promise he could only view it from a far.

  8. SET YOUR HEART TO GROW

46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

The chapter begins with the song that the LORD gave the children of Israel through Moses. The song solidifies the value of respect for fathers, elders and instruction. The LORD concludes with instructions to us on how to apply these principals of Spiritual success. “SET you HEARTS” it is time to “SET” our hearts on all the principals and promises of GOD.

We will GROW our FAITH, FAVOR and FERVOR for the LORD JESUS.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. 51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

Because of their disobedience and their sin they were not allowed into the promise land, they were only allowed to see it from afar. We do not need to let disobedience and sin keep us from heaven, how awful would it be to watch others enter heaven as we sit at the gates of hell? We must do whatever it takes to make it into heaven!!

  10. 32-4
    Faithfulness
As an attribute of God faithfulness expresses the total dependability of God’ character and and his utter commitment to keeping all his promises .
    He who wounds heals.

  11. 39-42 “Do you see it now? Do you see that I’m the one?
Do you see that there’s no other god beside me?
I bring death and I give life, I wound and I heal—
there is no getting away from or around me!
    I raise my hand in solemn oath;
I say, ‘I’m always around. By that very life I promise:… (MSG)

  12. See now that I myself am he!    There is no god besides me.I put to death and I bring to life,    I have wounded and I will heal,    and no one can deliver out of my hand.

Amen!!! No other God because there is none… He is the Alpha and the Omega. None other but my Lord!

Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” Isaiah 44:8

    Nobody like my God!!!!!

  13. Deuteronomy 32:46-47

The words of the Lord were to be the desire and life of the people of Israel. The Law was not to be considered insignificant or secondary, for it was the essence of life. Their obedience to the law would determine their quality of life.

  14. Deut. 32:45-47 (NLT)
    45) When Moses had finished reciting all these words to the people of Israel,
    46) he added: Take to heart all the words of warning I have given you today. Pass them on as a command to your children so they will obey every word of these instructions.
    47) These instructions are not empty words – they are your life! By obeying them you will enjoy a long life in the land you will occupy when you cross the Jordan River.

Moses said, “These instructions (the words of this law) are not empty words, they are your life.”
Jesus said in St. John 6:63, “… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The Word of God is Life to us. And we need to teach the Word of God to our children.

  15. A Just and Right God
Deut. 32:4-9 A faithful God and a faithless people are pictured. The Rock: The word is placed first in the Hebrew for emphasis. It emphasizes the stability and permanence of the God of Israel. His unchanging nature is contrasted with the fickleness of the covenant people. Most High is a title that emphasizes God’s sovereignty and authority over all nations, whereas in relation to His own people He is called the Lord (Yahweh) as in Exodus 3 and 6.

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Jeremiah But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations not be able to abide his indignation.

  16. 30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?

31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

    Who is your rock?

A few years ago I was on my face during warfare prayer when the words “Cling to The Rock” were dropped into my spirit. At the time I wasn’t going through anything trying but those words come back to me in times of trials and when I feel like giving up.

God is our sure foundation, he is THE Rock.

    Ephesians 2:20-22
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

    Psalms 89:26

He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father,
my God, and the rock of my salvation.

Satans Rock is an imitation but his rock isn’t what it seems. Oh it looks like they have wine, grapes, and vines but look and see what these really are in these verses.

The Devils rock is a deadly trap, building your house upon it will destroy you. His rock is sinking sand disguised as a sturdy foundation. When the storms come there will be nothing to save the house built on the sand.

On Christ the solid rock I stand.

  17. Deutronomy 32:16-17 KJV (16) They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. (17) They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
we must make sure in our daily lives that we do not provoke God to jealousy by the other Idols that we served. Our sacrifice should not be given to things of this world or for secular purposes but our sacrifices should be given to the kingdom of God

  18. 12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

    13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

With this we see God’s reaction to us when we decide to worship him and also when we choose to worship idols

  19. Councilling with wise.

7Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

Use the elders in your life to gain valuable knowledge. Surround yourself with Godly men and women that you know will tell you the truth. And allow them to show you the ways of God and to teach you things in life. No one is too old to learn. So grow by learning.

  20. 48 And the Lord spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

Yes God forgives, but there are still consequences for disobedience. Thank you Jesus for accountability!

  21. NlT 39) look now; i myself am he there is no other god but me iam the one who kill and gives life i am tje one who wounds and heals; no one can be rescued from my powerful hand

  22. 12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

    13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

We cannot forget what the Lord has done for us. Too many people serve Him for the loaves and fishes, but when it comes to making a sacrifice of their life, they turn away because they feel it’s asking too much.

  23. Deuteronomy 31:23 (NLT)
23 Then the Lord commissioned Joshua son of Nun with these words: “Be strong and courageous, for you must bring the people of Israel into the land I swore to give them. I will be with you.”

Transition is one of the most challenging times we can face. Joshua had never had the responsibility he was soon to face. The fate of the children of Israel rested on his hands. This along with the fact the Lord told him they would eventually rebel.

Yet aside from that this was the promised land. God was ready to give it to them but the process was not complete. God told Joshua be strong and courageous. His strength would be tested and he would be tempted to walk away in cowardice.

Today we need to be strong and courageous. Transition can be overwhelming and maybe even scary but God is right here leading us every step of the way.

Pray that Pastor would be strong and courageous. We are almost in our promised land.

(Got my days mixed up. Put 32 on yesterday so here is 31 for today)

  24. They have roused my jealousy by worshiping things that are not God; they have provoked my anger with their useless idols. Now I will rouse their jealousy through people who are not even a people; I will provoke their anger through the foolish Gentiles.
    Deuteronomy 32:21 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/deu.32.21.NLT

When we dont serve God as we ought to and other things take His place and our attention it provokes our God to anger and we should be careful because there is always someone that can take our place in His kingdom. Lets serve Him with all our hearts, soul and mind.

  25. v 20 And he said, I will hide my face from them,I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

” Without faith it is impossible to please God ” Hebrews 11:6

It is necessary to believe that it’s GOD WILL to intervene in our immediate circumstance.
    Have faith in GOD!!!

  26. Look now; I myself am he! There is no other god but me! I am the one who kills and gives life; I am the one who wounds and heals; no one can be rescued from my powerful hand!
    Deuteronomy 32:39 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/deu.32.39.NLT

There is no other than our God. Hallelujah what a great and mighty God we serve.

  27. God has a promise for us, but sin will keep you from seeing it. We can obtain this promise if we grab a hold of God’s word and let it not go. God has made us to be like him, so when we walk in the power God has given us the devil cannot harm us.

  28. 36 For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

The Lord will judge his people

  29. 46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

All too often, many of the people who claim to be Christians only listen to what is easy for them to swallow.
Jesus help me to heed all your word, that I might be there man you called me to be…

  30. “Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.” They were told again, that they should remember and inquire. History should be sought from the word of God (Jesus), and God fearing elders; as it can empower Nations and people, so that they will not repeat past mistakes. Dear God, awaken us and let us learn from “the days of old”. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  31. “Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.” The Lord told Moses because. We should consider all the Lord accomplished through Moses; however still there was because. We may never know what our because could be, which is all the more reason why we should be quick to seek the Lord, quick to repent, and quick to forgive. God help us so that we may not experience because, in Jesus name.

  32. One of the most repeated words in this book is “remember”. Moses knows the reality of human forgetfulness. He wisely gives this song to the Hebrews, knowing that, in recalling their deliverance, they are more likely to stay committed. To keep the connection and passion alive he uses creative ways to keep the fire burning in their memory. Since few Isrealites can read or write, history has to be passed down verbally. A song is more catchy with its rythmic and literary patterns, and helps the people remember more easy than a speech. He wants us to remember the days of old that others around them can even witness. The perception of the people is what changes suddenly becoming disconnected and confused. He uses words like abandoned, rejected and deserted to describe the level they have separated and distanced themselves from God. They literally forgot God, all he had done and promised and warned them of. As if it didn’t matter, as if the struggle the fight and the victories along the way meant absolutely nothing. He will allow them to live in judgment such as his enemies will for all the wrong they have done against him. God gives us the choice to let that relationship with him die or revive it.

  33. 15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

I know how that felt. I use wo worship those same devils, thinking I was doing the right thing. My worship was right in my mind. It was a long time before anybody care about my soul, even myself. I always tried to make it sound good, but in all essence. I was serving a false god. Jesus knew this and used all his tools and weapons to get the demons away from me. Those demons cried on November 8, 2015. I came up out that water praising God for my deliverance. What an awesome God we serve.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Enough said right there. I know where my glory comes from and no man will ever come between me and Jesus, my Lord and savior again.

  34. 39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

No one can deliver out of his hand.

  35. And when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

In this day and age that we live there are so ways that we can provoke God to Jealousy. We necessarily may not have any statutes that we worship in our homes, but what about our cars, our houses, money? Anything that gets more attention than God is and idol. No man can serve two masters, cuz he can either hate one and love the other, or else he would hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon. Matthew 6:24

  36. God made us and gave us a place on earth. The least we can do is honor him though service and love him for saving us. He never owed us anything. He chose to form the covenants with us. We can reciprocate that love through serving him.

  37. 15“But Israel soon became fat and unruly;
the people grew heavy, plump, and stuffed!
    Then they abandoned the God who had made them;
they made light of the Rock of their salvation.

What a true statement. Once man gets his belly filled, he just wants to relax and everything else comes secondary. With a filled belly, some will say “I don’t need God”. Once your hunger leaves, your desire to serve God leaves also. We must always have a spiritual hunger for the Lord. Always leave room to desire God, his word and his blessings.

  38. 6 Do ye thus requite the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

  39. Verse 2 AMP “Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As the light rain upon the tender grass, And as the spring showers upon the herb.” Same verse MSG ” My teaching, let it fall like a gentle rain, my words arrive like morning dew, Like a sprinkling rain on new grass, like spring showers on the garden.” Lord in everything that we (POFW) do, let them (this City) hear you, see you, and feel you through your word as it goes forth.

  40. 31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

In nature, there are many different kinds of rocks under the foundation of the Earth. In the spritual, there are different “rocks” that people try to put their spiritual foundation in. It could be from other religions, it could be different teachings that are not of the bible. Or it could be of things and people of this world. But all of those foundations will be torn down and worn away, there is only one rock that we must use as our spiritual foundation and his name is Jesus.

  41. 1. Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. 2. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. Listen to Jesus speak !!!!
