Deuteronomy 33

1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

2 And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

4 Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

5 And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

8 And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

9 Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.

10 They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.

11 Bless, Lord, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.

12 And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,

15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,

16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

18 And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.

19 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

20 And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the Lord, and his judgments with Israel.

22 And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion’s whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.

23 And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the Lord: possess thou the west and the south.

24 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.

25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

  1. Treading your adversary under foot.

I like this scripture in the bible. Vs. 29…. and our enemies will be liars….and we will tread on thier high places.

I realized that not everyone is going to like us and if they decide to be our enemies , which usually is thier choice,we will be higher than them and will beable to trample on thier high places. Which is usually a place where God gives his children.
    THANKYOU Lord.
    I worship you.

  2. 26. There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.

    27. The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’ NLT

There’s no god like our God!
What good would a refuge be if it was gone when you ran to it? Or the arms you needed to catch you when you fell had already gone away? Our God is eternal and His arms are everlasting, He IS good and He IS there when you need Him.

  3. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Amen, thank you Moses for that blessing. Praise GOD, thank you Jesus!! No weapon formed against us! Heritage of the servants of the LORD!! We serve a GOOD GOD!

  4. Knowing he was going to die, he kept a good attitude and blessed them, he could’ve been ugly and cursed them but no just like Job he kept his attitude in check!!!
Lord help us to be more like you JESUS. I love you DADDY

  5. Deuteronomy 33:6
Let Reuben live and not die and let not his men be few.

we shall live and not die for Jesus is with us. Grow with Jesus Amen

  6. Moses prayed over the people that he lead to the promised land, he wanted them to be blessed. He didn’t show any envy towards them…..Instead he blessed them.

  7. Deut. 33:29 (NLT)
“How blessed you are, O Israel!
Who else is like you, a people saved by the LORD?
    He is your protecting shield
    and your triumphant sword!
Your enemies will cringe before you,
and you will stomp on their backs!”

We are so BLESSED that JESUS has saved us!
He is our Shield and Triumphant Sword.
The enemy is under our feet!

    Thank You JESUS !!

  8. 29 Lucky Israel! Who has it as good as you? A people saved by God! The Shield who defends you, the Sword who brings triumph. Your enemies will come crawling on their bellies and you’ll march on their backs. MSG
God is on our side what do we have to fear…God is fighting for us

  9. iLove to Grow in the Word

Deuteronomy 33:7 KJV And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

Judah is praise and according to this scripture the Word says, “hear the voice of Judah…” (That sounds like praise to me). Notice also the rest of the scripture that gives us understanding of what praise does…Praise is a help from our enemies.

  10. 27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

  11. God is an individual God.

Our God is exactly what we need Him to be when we need Him to be it. Here each man received a prayer for their specific needs. For Asher, the prayer was to be blessed with children. While for Naphtali the prayer was to be satisfied with favor, and full with the blessing of the Lord. I need prayers tailored just for me. I don’t need a “blanket” prayer. We should learn to pray these specific prayers for ourselves and others. If we need help within our own minds to overcome the fear of talking to people about the love of God, pray for that specific need.

Expect God to present you with opportunity to answer these prayers. If we pray to be more patient with our children He is not going to “pop” patience in our brain. He will present us with a situation to be patient.

  12. 26 “There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.
27 The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’ (NLT)

Verse 29 goes on to say how blessssd we are in the NLT and the KJV says, “happy art thou.” We are truly blessed in ways we often don’t even recognize. Thank You Jesus for every blessing, there is no one like You!

  13. 2 And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

God had a fiery law for them and yea he loved the people are said next to each other. God loved them so he gave them direction and consequences. He gave them a disciplined lifestyle. The world has a twisted view of love thinking “if you love me you will let me do whatever I want” but that’s not love. That’s destruction. We have rules and guidelines to help us to flourish and succeed in life. We discipline our children and make disciples for the same reason! We love them and want the absolute best, we don’t want them to do whatever they want and destroy themselves.

  14. GROW AND BE HAPPY

29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

LIFE happens to every person alive! Positive and negative, good and bad, right and wrong, give and take. All the daily events in life present us a choice, GROW AND BE HAPPY or STAGNATE AND BE FRUSTRATED.

The children of GOD are HAPPY because of the FAIHTFULNESS and PROMISES of GOD.

Why should we GROW AND BE HAPPY when so much trouble is happening around us?

26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
    NOTHING COMPARES TO GOD!

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
GOD IS OUR SHELTER AND PROTECTION!

28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
GOD IS OUR SAFETY AND PROVIDER!

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

He is a wonderful God. He is all that we will ever need or want. He is my God whom I serve.

  16. It is the blessing of PRAISE!!!

7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

  17. When You Need a Place to Hide

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

    The Eternal God
Psalm 90:1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

“The eternal God is your refuge”
The Bible speaks of God, “under whose wings you have come to take refuge” Ruth 2:12

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

  18. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Amplified vs. 29 Happy are you, O Israel, and blessing is yours! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the Shield of your help, the Sword that exalts you! Your enemies shall come fawning and cringing, and submit feigned obedience to you, and you shall march on their high places.

Feigned: pretend to be affected (a feeling, state, or injury).
    synonyms: fake, sham, insincere.

Pretty intense verse. To have your enemies come to you with false pretense. Of course God is going to put them under foot.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

My God is mighty and just. He is also a loving and merciful God. When our enemies come before us, God knows and He will put us to where we will walk on their high places. To falsely commit obedience to God. I wouldn’t want to know that feeling at all. Why would you want to feign obedience to the Most High, that’s just insane. I love my God and I know there are times where I feel the world pulling me, but that is when I just close my ears to worldly things. I don’t want to be fake with God. He knows where I am and where I need to be. I have let some things get to me that is of the world, but no more. I WILL NOT LET THE WORLD IN ANYMORE! I AM A CHILD OF GOD AND WILL REMAIN THAT WAY, FROM THIS POINT ON!!! GOD has me and I will rest in his arms………God Bless…….Amen!!!!

  19. 1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

Even before his death Moses blessed the Children of Isreal, no matter what they did, how much they rebelled, complained, Moses loved them and always pleaded to God for mercy for them. Pastor is our Moses, he’s leading us to the promise land and he loves us. Thank you Jesus for MY Pastors and First Lady!

  20. 11 Bless the ministry of the Levites, O LORD,
and accept all the work of their hands.
    Hit their enemies where it hurts the most;
strike down their foes so they never rise again.”

Lord bless all your servants from the POFW. Bless every ministry, and everyone who gives their time and talent to grow the your kingdom.

  21. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
God’s hand of protection is with his people. He keeps his hand over them and watches over them and does not allow them to be taken down by their enemies 4X their lives. Everyday when we wake up we must pray for God’s continued protection and keeping power. The Bible says that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers us out of them all. I am thankful everyday for the protection of the blood of Jesus over me and my family And over the people of God.

  22. 26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

  23. Deuteronomy 33:7 (NLT)
7 Moses said this about the tribe of Judah:
“O Lord, hear the cry of Judah
and bring them together as a people.
    Give them strength to defend their cause;
    help them against their enemies!”

Judah means praise. Praise does many things. Because Judah is our spiritual ancestor we have this promise today.
Praise brings unity. Praise gives us strength to continue to stand for truth and the cause of Christ. Praise helps us against our enemies because it stills the avenger.

Praise is more than just lifting up Jesus. Praise is the vehicle to get us to the other side.

  24. Moses is about to.take.his.last.journey up MT. Nebo to see the promise land and die. Moses pronounce.a blessing on the 12 tribes. The blessings had a prophetic significance. Often these reflect the earlier blessings given the tribal ancestors by Jacob.

  25. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
We are a bless people! Thank you!!

  26. The Lord became king in Israel — when the leaders of the people assembled, when the tribes of Israel gathered as one.”
    Deuteronomy 33:5 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/deu.33.5.NLT

Imagine a whole city, the city of Fort Worth, gathering as one, unified for the name of Jesus. Unity can start with us and it can start in our homes. We can let Jesus be King of our lives and homes. Its imlortant to keep the unity in the family becuase that berings unity to the church.

  27. 7 And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
    Life goals.

  28. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” God (Jesus) chose, and watches over Israel. One should be mindful of the fact that even though they have experienced calamities, they are still a mighty God chosen people. Dear God, bless Israel with peace and prosperity, in Jesus name. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. “And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.” The Lord’s promises have always, and will always come to pass. This is all the more reason why the blessings from a man chosen by the Lord, will be; if we do what is right in the Lord’s sight. God help us to see the value and importance of pleasing you, in Jesus name.

  30. 7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

And this is the blessing of PRAISE: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of PRAISE, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him: and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, you are our help!

  31. In the MSG version this chapter is entitled “The Blessing” as Moses spoke a blessing over the Tribes of Israel before his death. We too, must speak blessings over one another. It is not a time to curse, bring down or speak negatively; but, speak truth, blessings and lift up in the name of Jesus.

  32. Deuteronomy 33:19
They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

  33. 27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

A refuge is only a refuge if you stay under it, you can only feel the embrace of a loved one if you stay in their arms. God can only be your refuge and shelter if you stay under him. If you stray away from him and towards things of this world, then he can’t protect you. But if you stay under his arms, he will protect you.

  34. 7. And this he said about Judah: “Hear, LORD, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!” NLT Hear my cry oh LORD !!!!
