Read Proverbs Chapter 25
1 Samuel 22
1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him.
2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
3 And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.
4 And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.
5 And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
6 When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;)
7 Then Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds;
8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
10 And he enquired of the Lord for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests that were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.
12 And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.
13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king’s son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?
15 Did I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
16 And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father’s house.
17 And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the Lord: because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the Lord.
18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
19 And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.
21 And Abiathar shewed David that Saul had slain the Lord’s priests.
22 And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
The POFW Daily Bible Reading 
The beginning of this chapter made me think of an army rising up. Like Bro. Morgan said yesterday in his blog, there are some that come and who are we to say that they will not become mighty men of war. Our job is to embrace them as “There is Room in the House of God for Everybody” (even the misfits).
The middle of the chapter talks about Doeg speaking up and telling Saul what and who he saw. For whatever the reason behind Doeg speaking up, it caused the death of innocent women, children and even their animals. Sometimes, it is best to just stay quiet and think about the consequences.
The end of the chapter once again speaks of finding safety. Even though his entire family had just been wiped out, Abiathar, sought out David to let him know what had just happened. He could have been angry and sought to kill David, blaming him for the massacre. Instead Abiathar trusted David and joined forces/safety with him.
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
This is what I love about Church. The enemy of our very souls is not after one person, but all of us. We become safeguards to each other. We are held accountable, we cry and weep, we rejoice, we overcome, we encourage each other through Christ Jesus. We are victorious. Having your Body with you, having that family is sacred and it keeps you safe.
Slay the priest.
21 And Abiathar shewed David that Saul had slain the Lord’s priests.
22 And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
It is a sad day when the priest men of God gets kill. This is still happening today, how? When we speak ill of our man of God is like we kill him with our tongue. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
I pray I may never ever speak ill of my Pastor and may all conversation be pleasing unto my God. Let’s all always keep our Pastor and Wife covered in prayer and may we always tell them how proud and pleased we are of them. In Jesus Name Amen
CAVEMAN MINISTRY
1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him.

Leadership principals teach us that to inspect what we expect and that we attract what and who we are. The great and victorious warrior, king David has birthed a CAVEMAN MINISTRY. attracting those that were as him, distressed, indebted and discontented. We are wise to investigate who and what we are following as well as who and what we are attracting.
The Key to deliverance from the CAVEMAN MINISTRY
5 And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Gareth.
Get OUT of the cave and Get into PRAISE. Praise is our way out of the CAVEMAN MINISTRY. Thanking GOD for past victories and praising GOD for current opportunities regardless of how we think they look. This is the Key to deliverance from the pity party, woe is me, feel sorry for myself CAVEMAN MINISTRY.

5 One day the prophet Gad told David, “Leave the stronghold and return to the land of Judah.” So David went to the forest of Hereth. (NLT)
Leave your strongholds and head to Judah! “Arise! It’s praisin’ time!”
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king’s son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?
15 Did I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
In these verses we see God’s highest compliment when he calls Davis faithful through the mouth of the prophet. Not only that but David was obedient and honorable to Saul. It’s sad that Saul was so concerned about himself and his selfish desires that he could not fully appreciate the blessing that David was to him and to his kingdom.
Get out of your funk and get your praise on!

Praise affects you, it affects the devil, and it affects God. It touches everything and every part of your life. Likewise, a lack of praise affects you in a negative way, turns the devil loose in your life, and keeps God away. Nearly everyone agrees that praise is good, but very few feel any responsibility to praise God when they don’t feel like it. I don’t know anyone who wakes up in the morning and plans on being depressed. They would like to be happy and praise God, but they don’t feel they have any control over this. Some think that praise is just a response to what happens and that if everything goes right, they will automatically do it.
We live in a negative world, a fallen world where it seems that the ungodly are getting more and more prominent. So much of what we hear is just negative, and we have to make a deliberate effort to be positive and counter the culture we live in. Praise is a great tool to help us achieve that. If we don’t live our lives constantly giving thanksgiving and praise unto God, we are not spiritually healthy. We can choose to say that we are going to give thanks and rejoice in the Lord. But until we do, we are victims. We will never be victors until we quit being victims.
Get out of your funk and get your praise on!

“And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him: and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.”
David became a captain to evey one that was distressed, in debt, and was discontented.
So Thankful to Jesus, that even in our distress, our debt, and our discontentment, HE took us in and became the Captain of our soul.
2 “And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him: and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.”
We ought to be like David not being picky who we think should be coming to church. Jesus paid the price for everyone so we won’t be lost.
“And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.” The word of God (Jesus) identified obedience. One would be very wise to heed the words of a proven prophet of God; whereas one would be as wise to seek God before heeding anyone that simply declares they are. Dear God, expose and remove any that would pervert your word or gift’s, in Jesus name. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!
“And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.” David was well aware it was better for him to be separated from his parents. Nevertheless he took the time to ensure they were safe and that their needs were provided for. God let us see true needs that we may do what is right in your sight, in Jesus name.
8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
Saul was looking for loyalty and found none among his army but did find someone willing to tattle on David. The Priest and the people knew David was honorable, yet this man Doeg must have been looking for ‘brownie points’ from the King. As was said earlier, sometimes it’s best to keep quiet. All the priests and the entire town was destroyed from what Doeg told Saul. Think first, then speak, weigh out the outcome of what you want to say.
Chapters 14-22 read.
17 Then the king ordered the guards at his side: “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because they too have sided with David. They knew he was fleeing, yet they did not tell me.” But the king’s officials were unwilling to raise a hand to strike the priests of the Lord.
The men not only had respect for the priests but they know God was with them and feared the Lord! What a mighty God we serve!
22 And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
Pray for ur family that not in church
Pray for ur friends that backside
For their soul is in our hands our job to protect and pray for them and continue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Y because there blood is in our hands

It’s is important to be submitted to your leader. We should also have in mind that some leaders are more relentless but are not submitted to God, as in important as it is to be submitted your leaders should be straight under the line of submission. Never “obey” and sin against God doing so. A God submitted leader will always guide you to God.
23 Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The man who wants to kill you is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me.”
Amen!!! Don’t be afraid, but believe…. Believe in the all mighty God. Thank u Jesus for sending angels to risk over my family, guiding me, and leading me in the right path. I will always be safe with you because you are my rock, my shield, the light, ever lasting father. Thank you Jesus for everything you have done and everything your going to do. Hallelujah!!!!!
Why Moab
David had family ties to Moab also have hoped to weaken Israel by supporting this rival of King Saul.

David may have known Doeg would tell Saul but could have not know that Saul would dare murder an entire clan of priests . Yet David hs
had lied and lies have consequences we cannot foretell.

22David exclaimed, “I knew it! When I saw Doeg the Edomite there that day, I knew he was sure to tell Saul. Now I have caused the death of all your father’s family. 23Stay here with me, and don’t be afraid. I will protect you with my own life, for the same person wants to kill us both.”
David had to carry the weight of being in leadership class 101 that day when the priests of the Lord were killed. The sadness and burden of the situation did not bring him down though. He was the factor that caused many deaths and yet he kept his faith in God. There may come a day in the future of this crazy world that we may have to stand against the mark of the beast. In doing so, we may cause the death of innocent children because we refuse to bow. All we can do is take David’s example and trust in God.

The enemy will always find someone to take his side if he searches far and wide. We must be careful who we side with, whose side we are on. We don’t want to be a tool in the hand of the enemy that would bring harm to the kingdom of God.

A group of broken people ready for battle is able to distroy many. Be careful who you upset because at some point they may all conspire against you.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run into and they are safe. God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in time of trouble. I will look to the hills for where my help comes from. My help comes from the Lord.
I’m grateful to know that no matter what life may be like he will always be there to protect and keep me safe.
“So David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there. Then others began coming—men who were in trouble or in debt or who were just discontented—until David was the captain of about 400 men.”

David was leading 400 men who were in trouble, in debt or discontent… That doesn’t seem like your first pick of men. But David led them anyway.

As I was reading this verse it reminded me of the song that says we know where the spirit of the lord is and it also talks about being free We must pray daily for the lost that the chains of the enemy would be broken by the supernatural power of God
It also brought to my memory of how David carried on through the time with praise on his lips! We must be careful not to mimmur or complain in the trial but rather to praise God in the storm

In the midst of trouble get back to praise. Victory is in your praise
Sauls regression is juxtaposed with that of an Edomite. Saul’s own men wouldn’t lay a hand on the priest. The Edomite Did. The Edomites were the ones who rejected to let Moses pass through their land (Num 20:14-21). They were pagans. How ironic it is that Doeg the Edomite is the one that leads the slaughter of the priests.
He led a group of broken people….All too often we search for perfection when it is the broken that God prefers. The broken will go beyond all measures because they have nothing to lose.

David alone was able to bring together about 400 men. Imagine if we brought that many to church, we would need the convention center to hold all of us. One day the center will belong to POFW!

17 And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the Lord: because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the Lord.
They knew not to touch the anointed of the Lord!
Saul’s anger is growing, spreading, and consuming him. No longer and content with destroying David, Saul insists on killing anyone assisting the enemy of the king including God’s anointed priests. Yet his guards refused to comply. They know that by striking a priest that they are striking out a God himself. Saul’s persistence is not quenched, and he commands Doeg, an Edomite, to do the dirty work. In the end, only one priest escapes with his life- and another distressed soul joins David on the run. Not surprisingly, David takes responsibility for the massacre. After all, Saul wants David, not the priests. And David neglected to take precautions to prevent Doeg from telling so about David’s encounter with the Ahimelech the priest. (Vs 9-10). Through this incident David learns a hard lesson: sometimes those who are hurt most by a person with a hostile spirit is the innocent.

Saul was so caught up in himself that he couldn’t see past the plank in his eye. GOD was giving David the out and hiding him from the wrath of Saul. Saul had become a madman. GOD help me to never look beyond you and keep me and guide me. See that I will always stand for your kingdom and leave the world behind.
