1 Kings 9

1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,

2 That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?

9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.

10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house,

11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.

13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,

18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,

19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,

21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.

22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.

26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

  2. JESUS BLESS AMERICA

9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.

We must pray for our nation. With crumbling morals of society and the arrogant refusal of the WORD of GOD that is being promoted, the CHURCH, the BODY of Christ must arise to proclaim and declare the name of our GOD. JESUS is truly the only hope for the world today.

The CHURCH must lead the United States of America in prayer to repentntance before GOD. The LORD himself said that if the people forsook GOD then it would become evident by the demise of their land.

We must BUILD an ALTAR to the LORD GOD (JESUS) and serve HIM alone to avoid being cast out of HIS sight. Also we must make this commitment to invite his HOLY presence and HOLY power into our lives.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  3. There is freedom in war

22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war,….

We men declared war last night at the men’s conference. We declared war on the enemy that has already began the fight. Wars are declared for many reasons but this one is for freedom. Look at the civil war of the United States. There were other reasons for the war but the main objective was for freedom of the bondmen or slaves. The kingdom works a little different. The war is not going to be over until the final trump sounds so the fight is going to be until the very end but the freedom that we are seeking from the enemy is not gained at the end of the battle, it is right in the middle of it. We have victory right now in the middle of the battle. We are more than conquerors. This means that we win even before the battle is over. Don’t wait till the battle is over shout now! God has given us dominion over the enemy so we just have to get our minds right and pick up the sword of the spirit and use it. We are victorious!! I declare war

  4. iLove to Grow in the Word
“As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭9:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The promises of God are always conditional. We must always comply to the Word in order to reap the benefits.

    • “then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David: ‘One of your descendants will always sit on the throne of Israel.’”
      ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭9:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  5. 5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

God made simple promises that if they would stay faithfull to him He would stay faithful to them. He blesses us due to our obedience to his commands. The blessing is always there for the taking but it lies in our obedience.

  6. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

  7. 1 Kings 9:4-7 (NLT)
    4) As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,
    5) Then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David: “One of your descendants will always sit on the throne of Israel.”
    6) But if you or your descendants abandon me and disobey the commands and decrees I have given you, and if you serve and worship other gods,
    7) Then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make Israel an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations.

“If you will follow me… obeying all my commands – Then I will establish”
    BUT
“If you or your descendants abandon me and disobey the commands… serve and worship other gods – Then I will uproot”

The same is true for us today. “If we follow the Lord and obey His commands – then we will be established in Him,” BUT “If we abandon Him, disobey His commands, or serve and worship other gods – then He will uproot and cut us off.”

Hebrews 3:12 says, “Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”

  8. You have hallowed this house, therefore God has heard your prayers and supplications, sure those mean so much! j. Soliz

  9. 9 “And the answer will be, ‘Because his people abandoned the Lord their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why the Lord has brought all these disasters on them.’” (NLT)

God is jealous for us and desires close relationship with us; He wants our all in love and worship. Thanks be to God that there’s no other name I know than the name of Jesus. He is so worthy, how could we keep from loving Him and serving Him with our whole hearts?!

  10. …Everything that had to do with The Temple he did generously and well; he didn’t skimp.
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭9:25‬ ‭MSG‬‬

It was taught to me as a child if you’re going to do anything do it to the best of your ability. How much more of our best should be given to God then to worldly things. Whether we help keep Gods house clean, helped unboxed and set up chairs, or participated in the actual build of this new building we should have given it our best.

If we missed these opportunities it’s not too late. Whatever we do for God make sure it is the best that we can do.

  11. 6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

Once again Solomon receives a warning from the Lord to serve him alone and walk in his ways so that his blessings and promises will continue for Israel for many generations to come. The same is true for our country. It was founded upon biblical principles and yet our leadership in the White House along with Hollywood (starting many years ago) have allowed these principles to crumble, decay and become forgotten. So we, the people of God, must be the ones to pray for this nation before it is no longer a land with a Constitution with the freedoms we have today including the freedom to worship our God in spirit and in truth!

  12. 1 Kings 9:4-7 (KJV Strong’s)
4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: 5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. 6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: 7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

The Lord makes things very clear. If we will follow his ways, and do his will then he will bless us. If we choose to break his laws, and serve other gods then he will remove his protection, and his blessing.

Living for God is not done all at once. It is a step by step walk. He wants us to walk with him in a relationship. He doesn’t want us to be destroyed. In fact he simply allows us to choose what consequences we want.

  13. 2 That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

Our lord will provide and supplied
    Thank u Jesus

  14. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

  15. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

If we will, God will. Many time people want God to do things for them, but they are not willing to do their part. Numerous times through the Word of God we see the condition – if you will then, I, God will …….

Serving the Lord takes effort on a daily basis. It would be challenging to get to Heaven and as our life passes before our eyes, to see all the things we could have accomplished if we would have been willing to put for the effort, and then God would have followed through with the results.

  16. God hears Solomon’s prayer to bless the temple, the people and the land. The Lord said that he was going to consecrate the temple by putting his Name there forever. He said that His eyes and his heart will forever be there. As for Solomon his blessings are conditional “if” he is obedient the Lord. Then will God keep his promise to his father David through Solomon ruling on the throne of Israel. The promises God makes he will keep even if it’s not through us. The blessings that God gives are conditional upon our obedience to his commands.

  17. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

I wanna walk like David walked…

  18. When you follow God’s plan, there are blessings in store for you. The plan that God has designed for each of us is vital to building his kingdom. We must la6 aside everything that interferes with the destiny God has for us. We are victorious in Jesus.

  19. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

Following after God blessings will come.

  20. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

Never forget that God hears our prayers. We may not have great words but He’s not looking for many words, or astounding Words. He’s looking for geniuen Words from the heart.

  21. I somehow missed chapter 8 and accidentally blogged on chapter 9 yesterday. Please refer to yesterday for chapter 9.

    Chapter 8—
“And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oh what a glorious thing that God could have such a presence that we could not stand to minister because of his presence.

  22. 1 Kings 9:9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.

You want to know what your problem is? You stop reading the Word, you stop praying, you stop going to church so often, you started giving other things more importance in your life than being connected to him. You forgot where the Lord brought you out of and stopped being thankful. You reminisce about old life and got caught up.

You’ve backslider and don’t even realize it.

  23. “And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.” The word of God (Judge) identified the cost. America was founded by God (Jesus) fearing and believing men and women. Unfortunately many today do not fear or believe; therefore America is beginning to experiencing the cost. Dear God, awaken us and remove all that do not fear or believe that you alone are God. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  24. “But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them”. It is no mystery that children are tomorrow’s generation, and subsequently the teachers of the next generation. There should therefore also be no mystery if they do not know, but rather a determination to rectify the situation. God help us too see the importance of teaching our children, in Jesus name.

  25. 5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

Can you imagine what Israel would be today if the kings would all have neen faithful to God from the lineage of David down? It might still have a king that fears the Lord and perhaps they might be a mighty nation.

    Proverbs 20:6
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

  26. “The Lord appeared to him a second time. He had already appeared to him at Gibeon. The Lord said to him, “I have heard you pray to me. I have heard you ask me to show you my favor. You have built this temple. I have set it apart for myself. My Name will be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭9:2-3‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

First the promise then follows the conditions.

“”But you must walk with me, just as your father David did. Your heart must be honest. It must be without blame. Do everything I command you to do. Obey my rules and laws. Then I will set up your royal throne over Israel forever. I promised your father David I would do that. I said to him, ‘You will always have a man on the throne of Israel.’”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭9:4-5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  27. 4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

  28. The beginning of this chapter in the AMP is captioned “God’s Promise and Warning”. Verses 3-5 AMP says “The Lord told him, “I have heard your prayer and supplication which you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built by putting My Name and My Presence there forever. My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually. 4 As for you, if you walk (live your life) before Me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, acting in accordance with everything that I have commanded you, and will keep My statutes and My precepts, 5 then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, just as I promised your father David, saying, ‘You shall not be without a man (descendant) on the throne of Israel.’ We must do our part and do it obediently.

  29. 3 And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

Hallelujah!!!! Amen Jesus hears and answers our prayers…I have been a witness of that many times. God loves His children and will not forsake them. When in need, lost, confused, hurt, sad, mad, upset, CALL out His name and He is there. Don’t suffer or go through the same problem because we have a HUGE GOD that can do ANYTHING!!!!!! Many people have the same problem because they don’t ask for help or just don’t want to leave that problem. Living for God is the best decision I’ve made. He makes me whole and complete!!!!!

  30. Solomon already new what the Lord expected from him. He was already married to the Pharaoh’s daughter of which he brought her to the new built house to live with him. His life is about to take a turn for the worse now that the Lord is expecting Solomon to obey his commands.

  31. 4“As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,

Integrity–being honest and having strong moral principles. A simple concept if we have God in our hearts!
