1 Chronicles 28

1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.

2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.

4 Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:

5 And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,

12 And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the Lord, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:

13 Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the Lord.

14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:

15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.

16 And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:

17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:

18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

19 All this, said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.

20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

  1. 10. Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

When God gives a job to do, He also gives the strength to see it through.
He wouldn’t give you a task if He wasn’t sure you could accomplish it.

  2. Verses 7-10 MSG says “I will guarantee that his kingdom will last if he continues to be as strong-minded in doing what I command and carrying out my decisions as he is doing now.’ “And now, in this public place, all Israel looking on and God listening in, as God’s people, obey and study every last one of the commandments of your God so that you can make the most of living in this good land and pass it on intact to your children, insuring a good future. “And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house. Be brave, determined! And do it!” The choice is yours to be strong-minded in doing what the Lord commands you to do. You must protect your mindset and remember the beginning of verse 20 MSG “…..“Take charge! Take heart! Don’t be anxious or get discouraged…..”.

  3. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

  4. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

What a responsibility! If we build the house He will come. His true desire is to dwell inside willing vessels that will serve in with “perfect” hearts. You may be thinking I can’t do that I’m not perfect but profection in this passages is “complete, safe, peaceful, perfect, whole, full, at peace”

He desires our all. We sings songs that say “I give myself away so you can use me” or “all of me Jesus take all of me, I’m holding nothing back I give myself to thee” now it’s time to align our actions with our hearts desire and song.

He’s coming soon for His bride and He is asking for her- “the church” to withhold nothing from Him.

  5. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Let this be a word of encouragement for us today.

  6. 8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

If we keep God’s commandments and abide by his word, we will possess the good land (Fort Worth) for Jesus.

  7. 9 “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. (NLT)

How we should serve the Lord. Let’s obey!

  8. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Boldness, Courage,Stremtgh,For the Lord our God is with us!

  9. iLove to Grow in the Word
1 Chronicles 28:19 KJV  All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
WOW, this is the first time I noticed how David received the plan to build the temple. I guess I always thought it just sprang out of the ground, but today I find out that God wrote the plans through David himself…and He didn’t even charge an architect fee. This is yet more proof that it is the will of God to plan ahead as David planned ahead for Solomon.

  10. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
Solomon had a charge. He had a responsibility from God and from his father to live righteously and build God a house. God has given his people and a charge also to fulfill his will, desires and purpose upon the earth. If we do His will he will bless our life and we will be amazed at what God does thru us

  11. 8 “So now, with God as our witness, and in the sight of all Israel—the Lord’s assembly—I give you this charge. Be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, so that you may continue to possess this good land and leave it to your children as a permanent inheritance. NLT

There isn’t a once saved always saved salvation plan! It takes work and commitment!

  12. It is not finished yet

20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

The Lord did not give us the land on Westpoint to see us fail. He did not give us favor with banks, city officials and contractors to see us fail. Gods work in Ft. Worth is not finished yet. God is using POFW to reclaim the region of Ft. Worth. God will use the willing. Keep up the work. Keep up the faith. Renew our love for the lost. Renew our love for one another. We will conquer this city.

  13. Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly. The various divisions of priests and Levites will serve in the Temple of God. Others with skills of every kind will volunteer, and the officials and the entire nation are at your command.”
    1 Chronicles 28:20‭-‬21 NLT

When god give u a job he will never leave you but he will stand by your side guiding You and help you

  14. 7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

If we are consistent in our walk with God he will bless and keep us.

  15. 1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him,he will cast thee off forever.

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Exodus 35:21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
Rev. 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

  16. PRAISE RULES – THE REASON I AM A PRAISER

GOD said he has chosen Judah (Praise) to be the ruler. People that are praisers typically have access to the authority of the Kingdom of GOD. GOD selected the tribe of Judah, he chose Judah to rule. If the LORD intended for us to understand that where Judah is mentioned in HIS WORD we also can exchange and interchange that word with PRAISE. I believe this to be true.

Verse 4 could also read “for he hath chosen PRAISE to be the ruler”. To demonstrate and exercise the authority of the Kingdom of GOD, we need to exercise our privilege to PRAISE the LORD. Lets recognize that it is our TIME to CONQUER and we are best equipped to CONQUER and RULE when we Praise the LORD.

  17. 1 Chronicles 28: 1 David David summoned all the officials of Israel to assemble at Jerusalem the officers over the tribes of the commanders of the divisions in the service of the king the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and the officials in charge of all the property and livestock belonging to the King and his sons together with the palace officials the Warriors and all the brave fighting men. King David rose to his feet and said listen to me my fellow Israelites my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord for the footstool of our God and I made plans to build it. But God said to me you are not to build a house for my name because you are a warrior and have shed blood.

  18. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

    Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I BELIEVE THAT POFW IS A CALLED PEOPLE FOR A GREAT PURPOSE, FAR GREATER THAN OUR MINDS CAN IMAGINE!!! WE MUST GROW!!! CONTINUE TO STRETCH!!! GROW GROW GROW!!!

  19. 7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

Can you imagine how much longer Solomon’s kingdom would of lasted if he would of follow God’s commandment and only marry within his people? Young men, and young ladies, be very careful where you plant your heart, being unequally yoked will only bring self destruction!!!!

  20. 1 Chronicles 28:10 & 20
    10) Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
    20) And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

The LORD has chosen us, POFW, to build an house for the sanctuary. AND Yes, we have built a new church, BUT we are not finished yet, BECAUSE we have only finished phase 1. We still have phase 2 to build.
So be encouraged today and remember what David said to Solomon. “Be Strong and of Good Courage, and DO IT. Fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, Will Be With Thee, He Will Not Fail Thee, nor Forsake Thee, until thou hast finished ALL the work…”

Thank You JESUS that You Are With Us!!!

  21. “20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.”

I pray that we allow this type of mentality to sink into our minds in our everyday life! To not fear the storm and believe in the plan/purpose God has for us with patience and humility! We CAN do what every non-believer thinks is impossible and make it possible ! We can save our cities , we can save our whole state, we can save a lost nation! You CAN! God reveal your spirit on these generations so that young people will have a desire to worship and serve and love you with all their might to do the impossible to change this WORLD!

  22. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

God has given us a house to build and a city to win! The attitude and willingness we have will determine just how great we will be used!!

  23. 2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.

David was not afraid to confess his fault before his son and he people around him. Too many times we have too much pride that we don’t want anyone to see our downfall. Confession is good for the soul

  24. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

When God is on our side we can do anything. The devil is under our feet, and we have the victory over any trials and temptations that come at us.

  25. 8“So now, with God as our witness, and in the sight of all Israel—the LORD’s assembly—I give you this charge. Be careful to obey all the commands of the LORD your God, so that you may continue to possess this good land and leave it to your children as a permanent inheritance.

Make sure you obey all commands, dont choose and pick which ones you’ll obey. If we have God in our lives, obedient will come easy, and the blessings will come.

  26. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

God there is none like you, you will never forsake me! You are my Rock and my sheild why should I be afraid with the lord on my side!

  27. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Nothing in our hearts is hidden from Him!

  28. 7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

  29. This passage like many other are for those that say that God is not concerned details. Things are said like God looks in the inside not the outside. It’s ok that I do these things because God knows my heart. It doesn’t matter what we look like….
If we are truly the temple of the Holy Ghost then none of those statements make any since. He cares what his house looks like.

  30. 8 So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God: Be careful to follow all the commands of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever.

Obedience will lead us to His promises that are given to us and our children and children’s children. Wow how beautiful is that. Many people like to live on the today and on their own freshly desires when they don’t realize that their not only hurting themselves but generations to come. Open up my eyes Jesus that I may see how you see and Lead me daily to obey your commands. That I may bring those promises to my descendents. Thank You Jesus because you never fail.

  31. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

We are called to serve God with a perfect heart as Solomon does. It doesn’t mean that he is perfect but that he has a servant heart to follow God. God searches hearts and understands and sees every thought and imagination. We cannot hide our inner selves from him. Sometimes it’s easy to think no one would understand the pressure, the pain or the discouragement that can come with ministry, but Jesus does. He searches the hearts of his children and disciplines in order to mold and to purify us. What we allow into our minds will show up in hearts. Turning our thoughts and hearts from God means that he will turn from us which is a dangerous place without his covering. We have to keep ourselves focused on him and not the things of this world that can so easily infect our hearts that they may be pure.

  32. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.(1 Chronicles 28:9 KJV)

Serving God with a perfect heart sounds like a challenge knowing that none of us are perfect. It’s really a heart condition of a servant that has a willing mind to be used of God for his purpose. God understands all the imaginations and thoughts of our minds and helps us to rid ourselves of the things that may get trapped in their that need to come out before it effects our hearts. If it can effect our hearts then it can effect our relationship with God thus causing him to cast us off it we persist in thinking or doing things that are not of God.

  33. In this scripture indicates the importance of a perfect heart and a willing mind. You see that’s why Satan attacks our minds to pull us away from doing the work of the Lord, and from the building of God’s house. So, we must be wise of enemies devices and keep being those conquerers in Christ Jesus! This only can be done by wearing the whole armor of God, submitting to God resisting the devil and he will flee, for he is defeated by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony!

“So, ask God for a new testimony”……………

9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

  34. “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.” The word of God (Jesus) identifies the cost. Solomon was the wisest man to ever live; unfortunately he became aware of it. One should never think one is above, for once one does one will fall. Dear God, help us to be humble and never forget that all is because of you. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  35. “Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.” David provided plans for the house of the Lord; however more importantly for life. We are also afforded with plans today; however more importantly with a record of their lives, and lessons learned. God help us that we would leave an inheritance of obedience to you, in Jesus name.

  36. 10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

We are to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. We are the chosen vessels of God and there is nothing the enemy can do about it.

  37. 7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

We could say that the key to continuous blessing is being faithful, commited or constant.

    Proverbs 20:6
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

  38. 11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,

This is what impacted me the most, THEN DAVID GAVE

How important it is to give to our future generations. It allows for the next generation to carry the Vision further that the last. The importance of David giving what he had prepared for the temple for Solomon, shows that he set him up for victory.
Pastor Watts has worked had and tirelessly in the calling God has given him. My wife and I are the first fruit of his work, and even when we have had our share of sacrifice it has no comparison to what he has endured. We, like Solomon, are privileged to be apart of this at this time.

If I could apply this to my life today, it would say, THEN MICHAEL WATTS GAVE………….

    #Blessed

  39. David made sure the resources were there for Solomon to build. He made provisions for it to happen. This comes with serious planning. We fail as believers when we fail to plan out our future and fail to leave resources and instructions to our children for the kingdom of God.

  40. “Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭28:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬
It’s not something that just happens, it’s intentional. And we must work and do our part and God will be with us.

  41. 1 Chronicles 28:8 (NLT)
8 “So now, with God as our witness, and in the sight of all Israel—the Lord’s assembly—I give you this charge. Be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, so that you may continue to possess this good land and leave it to your children as a permanent inheritance.

Obedience brings resources, territory, and leaves an inheritance for our children. We can be safe to say that disobedience brings famine, zero growth, and bankrupts our children.

  42. “Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭28:11‬ ‭KJV

We can’t be afraid to pass on the things that God has told us that someone else is doing. The next group behind us can be used mightily if we trust and give the task to them. If we try to hold on to the plans when someone else needs to do the work then we will cause things to fail.

  43. the works of this pattern.

20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.
