2 Chronicles 1

1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

2 Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

3 So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.

4 But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

5 Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

9 Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

17 And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

  1. Verses 10-12 NLT “Give me the wisdom and knowledge to lead them properly,[e] for who could possibly govern this great people of yours?” God said to Solomon, “Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people—I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!” The Lord not only blessed Solomon with what he requested/desired (wisdom; which he needed to rule the people); but also granted him some wants (bonuses, as the MSG says). What’s your desire????

  2. “Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV

These words to God come just after he was made king. He needed wisdom. He said the people were like the dust of the earth. There are times when I look at the few people I have been entrusted with and ask for greater wisdom. What a great thing to understand! When you have wisdom and knowledge on how to lead a people you don’t just know how to handle situations like the ladies with the baby. You also see at a quick rate who are good helpers and how to delegate. You see who would be good to place on a position to support you and who no longer needs their position. You know things like how to move people where they grow in service and when from them to take a break so they can continue on seriving in the future. Oh to have wisdom. I too see that in prayer.

  3. 5-6. Solomon and the group looked for the bronze altar, which Bezalel (son of Uri, son of Hur) had placed before the Eternal’s congregation tent. Solomon offered 1,000 burnt offerings there in the presence of the Eternal. The Voice

What better way could there be to begin anything (especially leading others) than a trip to the altar?

  4. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

Solomon could have asked for anything he wanted but he sought for the people he was to lead and not for himself. God seen the sincerity of his heart and abundantly blessed him. I look at the leadership, the Pastor and Sis Watts, what do they seek only what is the best for the flock they lead. Giving so unselfishly not asking for their self but for the kingdom.
Solomon was granted great wisdom. Do not have any fear or doubt in your leadership. Do not be afraid to be accountable. God has placed much wisdom in Pastor & Sis Watts. I have seen it and heard it first hand. I have no doubts. For it has already been proven over and over their concern and love and desire is for the people of God and for the lost souls of this city.

  5. Verses 8-10 are Solomon’s prayer to God; to me a beautiful example of how we should pray. First he remembers the goodness of God, then the promises of God, and the last thing he does is finally ask for what he desired.

  6. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
God honored Solomon because his heart and spirit was right. His desires from God were not self seeking or self desiring but they were in a sincere desire to bless the people of God. God blessed his request and gave him even more than he had before. If our hearts and desires are pure God will help and bless His people and grant them favor.

  7. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Why are we asking for what He has for us? Is it for our glory or His? God knows the thoughts and the intents of our hearts, He knows what we secretly hope to be able to do with our talents and gifts that He gives us. He knows. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be better, smarter, or wiser, as long as we glorify Jesus with what He gives us.

  8. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Solomon was noble in asking for just these things. He just wanted to fulfill what God had called him to do and what his father had charged him with. He wanted to rule over the people justly and build God’s temple well. The LORD granted him that and so much more. Solomon is still known today as the wisest and the richest king to ever rule the face of the Earth.

  9. iLove to Grow in the Word
2 Chronicles 1:11 NLT God said to Solomon, “Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern My people—

Wow, this verse is amazing in the fact that it shows God desires to bless those who truly love people. When our greatest desire is to help people…not hurt, use, mistreat, or step on people, God will bless us with the other things in life.

My prayer today is God will bless The Pentecostals of Fort Worth with wisdom to love one another.

  10. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

    James 4:2-7
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Sometimes we wonder why God is not answering our prayer, yet we are not praying according to scripture. I encourage you today, if you feel that God is not hearing you or answering your prayer; it may be time to change how you come to Him. Solomon came before God humbly and desired things of the Kingdom not of this world. He did not ask for things that would give him treasure here on earth but he asked to help develop him in wisdom and knowledge. His priority was to do what God had already established and fulfill his fathers dream.

  11. 6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

God responds to us when we make a sacrifice (offering, fasting, etc.).

15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

Although Solomon only asked for wisdom, God also blessed him with other things such as the silver, gold, and cedar trees mentioned in verse 15. When you give to God sacrificially, He will bless you.

  12. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

What would happened if Solomon hadn’t asked for wisdom and knowledge but instead asked for riches or a long life instead? He probably would have been granted those things but he would have missed out on so much more that God would have been willing to give him freely without asking. But because Solomon was thinking more of about God’s will and plan in his life than his own, God blessed him in that area in his life as well.

So in your prayers, put God and his will first in your life and God will bless you in other areas of your life that you did not ask for.

  13. The intent of the heart.

As humans we can say anything. It takes training and wisdom when listening to someone talk to discern whether they are speaking truth or some form of fabrication. God saw the intent of Solomon’s heart. Even though his heart wanted wisdom and knowledge, he still could have asked for other things. However, in being real with God, he asked for what was in his heart.

If we had a face-to-face with God what would be the intent of our heart towards His people and His kingdom? Would there be self-interest, self-promotion or would the betterment of His people and Kingdom be our desire?

  14. 11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

Thus is exactly what Pastor was preaching last night. We have to get over ourselves and ask God to give us what will benefit His kingdom. When we put Him first He will give us the rest. He knows our hearts therefore we must humble ourselves and as leaders not let a title or a position get to our heads. Were not worthy of anything and just like He gives He can take away. Let’s ask God for things that we know we need to grow His kingdom. Lets open up our eyes and see spiritually, but in order to do that we must set our flesh aside like Pastor said DAILY!!!!!!! OBIDIENCE AND SELF CONTROL!!!!

  15. 1 Solomon son of David took firm control of his kingdom, for the Lord his God was with him and made him very powerful. NLT

“Solomon took control of his kingdom” – He had no doubt that God had appointed him – he had confidence in God which made him powerful!

  16. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
    2 Chronicles 1:10 KJV
    http://bible.com/1/2ch.1.10.KJV

O LORD let this be the prayer of every leader in Your Kingdom and change your workmanship’ hearts towards your kingdom.
That you may be sought after like never before!!!
    In JESUS NAME!!!
    I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  17. 9 Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

LESS OF ME GOD AND MORE OF THEE
Wow what a great example of how we need to be. Instead of asking God for a better vehicle, or bigger house, ask God for wisdom and knowledge of his word. When asking God for the spritual things and your focusing on building God’s Kingdom, he will bless you with your needs and wants. God help me not to lose focus on what I was called to do which is to reach the lost and dying souls.

  18. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

What are we asking God for? Is it for us or others? Wisdom and knowledge are to be used to make wise decisions and to help others, as well as other things. Wisdom and knowledge are needed to teach others about this truth we know too. When we seek Him to help others, I believe he will make provision for us too.

  19. 2 Chronicles 1:7, 10-12
    7) In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
    10) Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
    11) And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
    12) Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

The scripture that came to mind as I read this chapter was St. Matt. 6:33. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

When we seek to do God’s Will FIRST in our life (when we are Kingdom Minded), then he will take care of our needs and add so many Blessings to our life.

  20. Give me the wisdom and knowledge to lead them properly, for who could possibly govern this great people of yours?” God said to Solomon, “Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people— I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!”
    2 Chronicles 1:10‭-‬12 NLT

Because Solomon did not things for sale but he desire to want to help his people god gave him more then what he could. Ask for
let stop being Selfish and tell god what we want but ask for help and directions
    Asking for wisdom etc

  21. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Solomon wasn’t selfish in asking for something of the Lord. He requested something that would help him be a better leader, and in return not only did he get what he requested, but riches and wealth and honor on top of what he requested. isn’t God good! He gives us not only what we ask but other things that will benefit us as well if we will be kingdom minded and ask for things that will benefit the kingdom.

  22. GROW IN WISDOM

The Brasen Altar is the altar of sacrifice or the altar of “Repentance”. Notice in verse 6 that Solomon offered 1000 burnt offerings upon it. It would be like 1000 prayers of Repentance. Solomon make a clear statement that he was serious about REPENTING before the LORD.

Notice how serious, sincere REPENTANCE moves the LORD our GOD. In verse 8 GOD appeared to Solomon and asked; “what shall I give thee”. Repentance so moved GOD that he came himself to see what he could do for Solomon.

Evidence of the spirit of Repentance is found in the response of Solomon.

    1. Solomon worshipped GOD v8 (Thou hast showed great mercy)
    2. Solomon honored his Father “Elder” v9 (thy promise to David)
    3. Solomon requested Kingdom principals v10 (give me wisdom and knowledge)

There was nothing selfish in the request that Repentance birthed. Because Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge instead of v11 (Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people)

We GROW IN WISDOM by increasing our trips to the altar of REPENTANCE.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  23. 12 I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!”

Once we develop a relationship with God, he will bless us more than we ever expect. We must stay obedient and humble and not let the blessings become an idol or an expectation. We can easily forget how we became rich and lose our relationship with God.

  24. 5 Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

  25. 1 Solomon son of David took a firm grip on the reins of his kingdom. God was with him and gave him much help. MSG
It’s time we get a firm grip on the reins of the altar. The time is nearing closer than we can imagine or want to imagine.

  26. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

Some of us think that asking for wisdom and knowledge is what moved God to give him riches, honor, victory over his enemies. The truth is that it was that his prayer pleased God because it was also the intention of his heart. There was no deceit involved in trying to coherce God into getting material things. He was set in his heart to have the best attributes to lead Gods people. No for selfish pleasure.

  27. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

When we ask God for something we have to be specific what we want, he knows the desires of our heart just how He knew what was in Salomon heart, but He waited for Salomon to say what he wanted.

  28. “9 Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.”

Get out of a routine prayer!

Too many times we forget that prayer is not only used for our needs, but also to communicate with God and thank him with sincerity and humility for his good works! If you pray for your needs more than you thank God , then something is WRONG! How much would it cost you to just take atleast 5 minutes of your time to thank God for his grace and mercy? When one humbles themselves and puts God’s plan before your needs … he will not only bless you with your calling but also BLESS you in all the areas of life that have a need! A personal relationship with God does not only consist of asking for something over and over … because the more you do it the more of a routine it becomes! Then that’s when the mind begins to believe that prayer is more important only wen when it comes to our personal needs! I encourage you to make time for God! He owes us nothing, but we owe him EVERYTHING! Thank you God for EVERYTHING you’ve done , do, and will DO! #Amen

  29. “God said to Solomon, “Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people— I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭1:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you seek after Gods own heart and only the things he can give you and not the things of this world, He will not only bless you with what you asked for but He will take it way beyond that and bless you with many other things!

  30. 2 Chronicles 1:13 (NLT)
13 Then Solomon returned to Jerusalem from the Tabernacle at the place of worship in Gibeon, and he reigned over Israel.

Why was Solomon wise, wealthy, affluent, and famous? Why did he have such resources, and abundance? Why was he so blessed?

The answer to blessing is solid foundation.

Sacrifice and worship preceded riches, fame, glory, and honor. I believe that when we do the same thing that God will bless us likewise.

I’m sure if enough people were asked they could testify of this principle working in their lives.

  31. 6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

What may cause God to ask you what you would want… That thought came to mind while reading today’s chapter. Well we see that Solomon went to God. He was seeking and offered sacrifice. Fresh fire always requires fresh sacrifice. He came to the altar and sought God. We often want God to inotiate the communication but it ia us that need to go to him and offer up a priase and seek Him in prayer. Many times we go in prayer and ask go and ask and go and ask but how many times do we just go and worship…just because. He deserves all if the glory and the praise.

  32. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

What a powerful chapter. To be as wise as Solomon; that is what I pray for. That one day God will open up my heart and mind to fully receive His word. I know that there are still chains in my life. My prayer is that God will break the remainder of these chains; so that I can be free and receive the direction from God. Each day I feel stronger in the kingdom, but I know that there is a lot of work to be done. I’m very thankful to the leaders and elders for their guidance; also that I have had the courage to continue on even with the storm that has me surrounded. I thank you Jesus for all that you have done for me………Amen!!!!

  33. 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

  34. Great wisdom and knowledge will lead not only to the riches and honor but with the wisdom you will be able to keep it.

  35. v8 And Soliman said to God: ” You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in this place.

We see the attitude of meekness and Thanksgiving for GOD’S Great Mercy.
The Bible instructs …the one who needs wisdom simply to ask for it. James 1:5
We often lack many necessary things in our walk with GOD because either we fail to ask or we ask with the wrong motives.
Soliman asked and received, this shows us that GOD IS NO REFLECTOR OF PERSONS.

  36. “And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.” The word of God (Jesus) records Solomon recognized and acknowledge. David was shown mercy by a real and merciful God, which Solomon acknowledge as he understood the necessity. Albeit one that is unwilling to acknowledge or grasp the necessity of God’s mercy, will also never receive the promises. Dear God, forgive me of my sins, help me with humility, and grant me mercy that I may be blessed in this life and one day spend eternity with you. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  37. “And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king”. Solomon was wise in that he asked for wisdom; however he was also sincere, as it was in his heart. We can and should likewise seek the same today, as wisdom allows for so much more; nevertheless we should be mindful as the Lord sees our true intentions, and our heart. God help us that we would have a heart that desires wisdom to know you better, in Jesus name.

  38. Solomon Asks for Wisdom
    2 Chronicles 1:7-12

v.12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

1 Chronicles 29:25 And the Lord magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

Eccl.2:9 So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.

  39. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

    So encouraging

  40. “Solomon answered God, “You were very kind to my father David. Now you have made me king in his place.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

The word “Place” stood out to me in this passage. The most important thing to strive for is to go find your “Place” …. place in the Kindgom, place in prayer, place in God etc…. when God gets ready to use you, will he find you in your place?

  41. Love people get wisdom….

I love the Lord. He is so good to me. I know when we are good to people we have God’s favor. Then we have to have wisdom to keep being a good person. I pray today that the Lord will teach me to be all that He wants for me today and with the knowledge and wisdom I can be that person.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

  42. 10Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

God wants to give Solomon what he desires. In his humble heart Solomon requests wisdom and knowledge to lead God’s people. God exceeds his requests with great riches and power too because he was not only thinking of himself. Solomon has a servant heart that hid gather David displayed. However we will find that you need more than just knowledge and wisdom to serve God. What God is going to give him will come along with challenges in order to take out of him the things he doesn’t need to learn. God will mold and bless us and it will take obedience and a servant heart to obtain that wisdom because the more a person strays away from God the more foolish they become.

  43. 1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

God heard Solomon and blessed him more than any other king. God saw through him he was genuine
