2 Chronicles 3

1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2 And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

3 Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

4 And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

5 And the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.

6 And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

7 He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.

8 And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

9 And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10 And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold.

11 And the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12 And one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

13 The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.

14 And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.

15 Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

16 And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

  1. Verse 17 MSG says “He placed the pillars in front of The Temple, one on the right, and the other on the left. The right pillar he named Jakin (Security) and the left pillar he named Boaz (Stability).” Same verse AMP ” He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right, the other on the left, and named the one on the right Jachin (may He establish) and the one on the left Boaz (in Him is strength). This reminded me of our church and what is in the ground [bibles of the pillars (a person or thing regarded as reliably providing essential support for something) that all had a hand in what is now standing] at each corner and main placements of not only structural support; but, spiritual support.

  2. v7 He also overlaid the house the beams and doorposts, it’s walls and doors— with gold; and he carved cherubim on the walls.

Acting by HIS own will and design.
All declare the glory of our CREATOR.

3 Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

  4. 17. Before the porch stood two columns, 52 feet high, crowned with 90-inch-high capitals. Solomon made decorative chains in the most holy place, adorned them with 100 pomegranates, and draped them on the tops of the columns. The column on the right was named Jachin, meaning “He establishes,” and the column on the left was named Boaz, meaning “He strengthens.” The Voice

The place to get established and strengthened is in the house of God.

  5. 1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Build your house on the blessing. Solomon built God’s house on the threshingfloor. Where the increase takes place. Why not be close to the increase. Lord bless my land. Bless my fields. Bless my family. Bless my house. Bless my church. Build your house on the promises of God for they are yeah and amen.

  6. Such a beautiful place for God! Do we host a place where God wishes to dwell within our temples, or is our temple full of sin where God, not only can’t get in, but does not wish to dwell…?

  7. 2 Chronicles 3:17 (AMP) “He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right, the other on the left, and named the one on the right Jachin (may he establish) and the one on the left Boaz (in Him is strength).

I liken this to church. When we come to church we can establish a relationship with Jesus, and we can find strength in Him.

  8. iLove to Grow in the Word
1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

We notice here that the temple was built on Mount Moriah. Mount Moriah’s history begins in Genesis. In the twenty-second chapter, God commands Abraham, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you” (Genesis 22:2). The place God led Abraham was Mount Moriah. Because of Abraham’s obedience on Mount Moriah, God told Abraham that his “descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed because you have obeyed me”

The chapter we find ourself in today is 1,000 years after Abraham and Isaac. God connects Mount Moriah to sacrifice and fulfills part of a promise to Abraham.

  9. Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

Solomon was given a plan for this building from his father David who desired to build it. David had such a close, dependent relationship with the Lord, that he wanted it to be magnificent! I like how Solomon named the pillars to convey how he felt about God as well. We each bring our gifts and talents and contribute to Gods house to make it great.

  10. Solomon built the temple with the finest of materials and accessories. He was building a place for the Spirit of the Lord to come and dwell among the people. God desires our best, yet when we come to Him broken and shattered from life, and offer Him what we have, He makes His home in our hearts. It is our responsibility to offer Him the best we have. We may not have wealth or riches, but whatever we have we can offer it with excellence and a right spirit.

  11. 2 Chronicles 3:17 (AMP) “He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right, the other on the left, and named the one on the right Jachin (may he establish) and the one on the left Boaz (in Him is strength).

Just as the temple was established on God’s strength and stability our lives should be built on Jesus Christ. Everything we do and every important decision we make must stand on the strong foundation of the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus!

  12. GLORY IN THE TEMPLE

17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

As I read this chapter the word GLORY came to my mind. As I creatively imagined how it would look. The natural is an indication of the Spiritual. The description recorded of the design, furniture and decor of the House of the LORD is GLORIOUS.

The GLORY and SPLENDOR that is described here is one of great value. No doubt the cause for the “guardian angels”

    MSG
2Chronicles 3:17 He placed the pillars in front of The Temple, one on the right, and the other on the left. The right pillar he named Jakin (Security) and the left pillar he named Boaz (Stability).

I pray the church remain in the pillars of Jakin (Security) and Boaz (Stability). May we protect and maintain the spirit of excellence and glory in the House of the LORD forever AMEN.

  13. 3 Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

Solomon followed the instructions God had given………….

  14. 17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

  15. Today chapter is about Solomon build the temple. How ever over the last pass week i got to see the work Solomon put in. For the temple he saw how important it was. This means so much to me so see this that he never gave up

  16. 17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

Solomon knew if he has a strong foundation for the temple it will be able to with stand in the storms in the physical world and spritual world. The lord izs my rock and my sheild!

  17. 8 And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

And he made the most holy house. The house of God was made to perfection. God knows we are not perfect but he does know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The house of God is holy

  18. 4 And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

  19. 1So Solomon began to build the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David, his father. The Temple was built on the threshing floor of Araunaha the Jebusite, the site that David had selected.

Solomon started to build the temple. David prepared and planned but never started it. We too should be ready at all times to build up our relationship with God. We must always prepare and plan in case someone asks, why do we believe in Jesus.

  20. To be given an assignment by God is a blessing. Solomon got the privilege of building the temple of the Lord. God entrusted him to that. What can God trust you with should be a question we ask ourselves. This is us being about our father’s business.

  21. Solomon built a beautiful house for the Lord and we need a temple just as beautiful. A place where no sin is in and only the beauty of our purity and holyness to God is. Each and everyone of us need to make sure our temple is pure and holy and worthy for God to come and dwell in. If it’s not then we need to see what’s dwelling in it now and get it out so there’s only room for one and it’s God.

  22. Following the instructions of God the temple was built if the finest materials and two pillars would be there one of establishment and the other strength. Later King Nebuchadnezzar would have the pillars broken down and sent to Babylon.

The enemy of our souls would love to break us away from the very thing that establishes us and strengthens us in Christ- Hus Word. He understands that if he could get us to question the Word That is within us he can take control of us, the temple of God.

Let us be encouraged to hold onto and perverse the Word of God that is within us and stay established in Him.

  23. 17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

According to biblehub.com, the names of the pillars would be translated to “He establishes me”, “in strength”. What a way to come into the temple. With us being established in His strength.

  24. 2 Chronicles 3:1 (NLT)
    Solomon Builds the Temple
1 So Solomon began to build the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to David, his father. The Temple was built on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the site that David had selected.

The place where judgement ended is the place where salvation began. It was this place the angel of judgment stopped when David had sinned by counting the people.

This was the same place that Uzza reached out and touched the ark when it was shaken on the cart.

This was where Solomon built the temple and the place where Jesus Christ would one day be crucified.

  25. 1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

What’s amazing is that you never understand what God is truly doing through you when it happens. A lot of times it is just the groundwork we are laying, but the magnitude of everything comes later. Same can be said for David. Laying the groundwork.

  26. 11 And the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

The awe of what you would see when you walked in the house of the Lord was amazing. When you come in you see the two huge angels stretching over the mercy seat. This is how our alters look in the spirit. There are angels there waiting to cover us. The mercy of God awaits us. All we need to do is come into the place and worship. God does the rest

  27. 2 Chronicles 3:17 And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin (Security), and the name of that on the left Boaz (Stability).

  28. Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.(2 Chronicles 3:1 KJV)

Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem his father had prepared. It’s important to follow after the man of God before us in the vision that he has cast for us. This can teach us to follow and build upon the places he gives us no matter the place. If God calls us to minister then we should be soldiers and servants ready to serve.

  29. The location of the temple is in the exact spot that the angel of the Lord stopped in his wrath to punish David’s rebellion in the census. The location of our worship should be in the place of repentance and praise God for his mercy. God will lead us which way to go even in the most unlikely situations like burning bushes, talking donkeys etc.

  30. 1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

The same place where Abraham was gonna offer Isaac as a sacrifice now is where the temple is being built.

  31. “Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.” The word of God (Jesus) identified the place. There was significance to the place in which David, and then Solomon chose. One is wise in seeking God’s will, before self’s will, when choosing the place. Dear God, help us that we would hear; however more importantly obey you. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  32. “The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.” Although there was eloquent workmanship and great detail described, there was more importantly position. Regardless of what may be we must always be mindful of our position, or more importantly the direction in which we are looking. If we want or desire more of the Lord than we must simply face him, and move towards him. God help us as we journey towards you, in Jesus name.

  33. I remember when we broke ground at POFW. Felt like yesterday. It was almost 2 years ago on Western Day. What a great declaration to a construction project.

Just like in architecture, our souls need to have ground broken for the word of God. Many people get bruised and hurt in life and their hearts become hardened (much like hard ground) and walls go up. They must be broken up and tilled so that restoration can come. Then the seeds plant and life buds. Otherwise the remain course and bad for growth. Like a drought in the desert.

  34. The temple was a glorious and beautiful sight for all to see. Every inch was measured and decorated in the most detailed fashion. How does your temple look? Are you overlooking things or focusing on the details?

  35. “And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭KJV

name of the left of two brazen pillars, 18 cubits high, erected in the porch of Solomon’s temple

Strong’s Definitions: בֹּעַז Bôʻaz, bo’-az; from an unused root of uncertain meaning; Boaz, the ancestor of David; also the name of a pillar in front of the temple:—Boaz.

  36. 1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

  37. 2 Chronicles 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

    Build on a sure foundation

Our biggest dream is for our children to live for the Lord. I desire to have my son minister along side me. That the dream and passion that God put in my heart be the desire and passion in his heart. David’s desire was to always build a temple for the Lord. The lifestyle he lead never allowed him to accomplish that, but that never stopped him for preparing a way for his son.

His son was able to build on the preparations his father made. He accomplished his father dreams and desires to build a house where God would dwell in.
