2 Chronicles 8

1 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,

2 That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

3 And Solomon went to Hamathzobah, and prevailed against it.

4 And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.

5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

6 And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.

7 As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,

8 But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.

9 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.

10 And these were the chief of king Solomon’s officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.

11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,

13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.

14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

17 Then went Solomon to Eziongeber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.

18 And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

  1. Verses 15-16 NLT “Solomon did not deviate in any way from David’s commands concerning the priests and Levites and the treasuries. So Solomon made sure that all the work related to building the Temple of the Lord was carried out, from the day its foundation was laid to the day of its completion.” We too must not deviate from the plans/will of God in our lives.

  2. 15. The priests and the Levites followed all the commandments of their king, even those regarding the storehouses. The Voice

We are to follow all of the commandments of the King, even those that may seem unimportant to us; every detail is important to God, and He has a reason for every one.

  3. 16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

  4. 16 So Solomon made sure that all the work related to building the Temple of the Lord was carried out, from the day its foundation was laid to the day of its completion. (NLT)

The foundation of the house of the Lord, was built , was completed only after the burnt sacrificial pfferrings were offered up. Sacrifice, fire and the alter all go hand in hand as the foundation we must continually build upon. Then the order was set of each ones service unto God. When we start each day at the alter bringing our sacrifice to God then go about what He has called each of us to do then we can know assuredly that the House of the Lord is being built up until the day that the Lord says to us it is finished, thy good and faithful servant.

  6. “Solomon had built the Lord’s altar. It stood in front of the temple porch. On that altar Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the Lord. Each day he sacrificed what the Law of Moses required. He sacrificed the required offerings every Sabbath day. He also sacrificed them at each New Moon Feast and during the three yearly feasts. Those three were the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Booths.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Every day there was a sacrifice given. The sacrifice brought blessing and most of all it brought salvation and forgiveness for their sins. And the animal that was sacrificed was a specific animal it wasn’t sick or defective. Only a pure and whole sacrifice was made. We find in the Bible that the old testament has types and shadows of what to do in the New Testament. Although, we do not sacrifice physically, the Bible does say that we are a living sacrifice and this is a reasonable service. We must sacrifice ourselves daily for our salvation. And since we are the sacrifice we must be holy and pure. Not effective not engaged in sin. Less of me and more of Him. And we must sacrifice until I reflect only the image, character, nature of God.

“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts and passions. Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities–sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God.”

2 Chronicles 8:14 KJV  And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

:O Wow, what a great example David left behind as a father concerning the worship and respect for the house of God. The unfortunate thing though is David’s example he left behind concerning marriage. This weakness of David is found in Solomon as he has married the daughter of Pharaoh. This weakness with women would eventually lead Solomon to a lifestyle of idol worship. But…at least in today’s blog we find the good example of David that was instilled into the life of Solomon.

  8. 11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

As Solomon only wanted the best for his bride, God only wants the best for his bride. Why would we not want to give our best to our God?

  9. 15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

Solomon and hid people had order, structure and organization in the dealings of the Lords work. People worked together and had unity and as result everything they desired to do for God they accomplished it. If we have the same unity and passion that they had there is no limits to how God can use this church.

  10. 16 All Solomon’s work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid until its completion. So the temple of the Lord was finished.

Don’t let your passion fade away, keep it burning till the end. You start something with so much passion for the Lord it should only grow till you finish it! Don’t let anything take your passion, if you started it finish it with more fire!

  11. 15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

Follow god and the people over you for god has giving them authority

  12. 16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

If we could grasp this concept into our own lives – as our bodies being a temple.

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Cor 6:19

  13. 16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

  14. 1)At the end of twenty years, Solomon had quite a list of accomplishments. He had:

Time, we don’t have much time left, THE TIME IS NOW!!!
    GROW NOW!!!

  15. 15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

  16. 15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

Obediance is a key! We need to be obediant to the people in the spiritual and natural authority

  17. Appointment

14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

It does not matter where we serve the Lord, only that we serve Him with excellence. God does not ask perfection from us only excellence – or our very best. Whether we are preachers, teachers, greeters, sweepers or parking lot attendants our appointment is crucial to the house of God. No one is in place by accident. Every appointment is prayerfully considered and we have the best team in place. Let’s each do our best and impact the lives we encounter.

  18. 11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.
12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,
13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles

Solomon had a real sense of pleasing the Lord at this time in his reign. He had built the greatest Temple for God, had the priests assigned and sacrifices were done according their law. He was so blessed and lacked nothing it seems. In contrast, David had to depend on God throughout his entire life. In our blessings we can stray and find ourselves not holding fast to God like we did in our struggles! It’s not time to let go as Pastor has been preaching. It’s time to GROW in prayer and fire!

  19. 11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

Unequally yoked, Solomon an Israelite, David’s son, whom God had entrusted to build the sanctuary that David was unable to build, reached back into Egpyt “the world” and took a wife and brought her up out of David’s house unto his because David’s house was holy.

When you have accomplished what he had accomplished in building a place for the presence of the Lord to dwell daily, yet he reaches back into Babylon and takes a wife of someone who is completely opposite of what he knows and has been taught why?

Somewhere along the way he did not use the wisdom and knowledge God gave him in seeking after a wife.

Sometimes when we want something that is not for us so badly, we will cause ourselves to be deceived thinking that it’s okay with God, when it really is not.

Lord help us to always use your word for guidance even when it hurts us or tells us no, because it will keep us out of trouble and will keep us from eternity in hell, if we will but follow and listen.

  20. 20 YEARS AND SOMETHING CHANGED

8 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,

Israel and Solomon were accustomed to living in the challenge of the moment. From the many battles of Davids day, to the construction of the House of the LORD. Solomon now has 20 years of experience in reigning over Israel and the world. Like most leaders we can find the good and the bad. Consider these verses.

    MSG
12-13 Then Solomon offered Whole-Burnt-Offerings to God on the Altar of God that he had built in front of The Temple porch. He kept to the regular schedule of worship set down by Moses: Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual feasts of Unraised Bread (Passover), Weeks (Pentecost), and Booths.

14-15 He followed the practice of his father David in setting up groups of priests carrying out the work of worship, with the Levites assigned to lead the sacred music for praising God and to assist the priests in the daily worship; he assigned security guards to be on duty at each gate—that’s what David the man of God had ordered. The king’s directions to the priests and Levites and financial stewards were kept right down to the fine print—no innovations—including the treasuries.

Solomon kept everything in order in regards to WORSHIP (sacrifices, offerings, feasts).

    However:
11 Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter from the City of David to a house built especially for her, “Because,” he said, “my wife cannot live in the house of David king of Israel, for the areas in which the Chest of God has entered are sacred.”

This verse troubled me today. How could and why would a man with the WISDOM of Solomon and the commitment to the House of GOD marry Pharaohs daughter? He respected the house of GOD so much that he knew she did not qualify to come into the House of the LORD.

    Here is what I learned.

    MSG
1Kings 3:1 Solomon arranged a marriage contract with Pharaoh, king of Egypt. He married Pharaoh’s daughter and brought her to the City of David until he had completed building his royal palace and GOD’S Temple and the wall around Jerusalem.
2 Meanwhile, the people were worshiping at local shrines because at that time no temple had yet been built to the Name of GOD.
3 Solomon loved GOD and continued to live in the God-honoring ways of David his father, except that he also worshiped at the local shrines, offering sacrifices and burning incense.

    JFB Commentary
    11. Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her — On his marriage with the Egyptian princess at the beginning of his reign, he assigned her a temporary abode in the city of David, that is, Jerusalem, until a suitable palace for his wife had been erected. While that palace was in progress, he himself lodged in the palace of David, but he did not allow her to occupy it, because he felt that she being a heathen proselyte, and having brought from her own country an establishment of heathen maid-servants, there would have been an impropriety in her being domiciled in a mansion which was or had been hallowed by the reception of the ark. It seems she was received on her arrival into his mother’s abode (Song Of Songs 3:4; 8:2).

    MH Commentary
IV. That one reason why Solomon built a palace on purpose for the queen, and removed her and her court to it, was because he thought it by no means proper that she should dwell in the house of David (v. 11), considering that that had been a place of great piety, and perhaps her house was a place of great vanity. She was proselyted, it is likely, to the Jewish religion; but it is a question whether all her servants were. Perhaps they had among them the idols of Egypt, and a great deal of profaneness and debauchery. Now, though Solomon had not zeal and courage enough to suppress and punish what was amiss there, yet he so far consulted the honour of his father’s memory that he would not suffer that place to be thus profaned where the ark of God had been and where holy David had prayed many a good prayer and sung many a sweet psalm. Not that all the places where the ark had been were so holy as never to be put to a common use; for then the houses of Abinadab and Obed-edom must have been so. But the place where it had been so long, and had been so publicly attended on, was so venerable that it was not fit to be the place of so much gaiety, not to say iniquity, as was to be found, I fear, in the court that Pharaoh’s daughter kept. Note, Between things sacred and things common the ancient landmarks ought to be kept up. It was an outer-court of the temple that was the court of the women.

    BK Commentary
8:11. A final political achievement by Solomon was his relocation of his wife, the daughter of the Pharaoh of Egypt, from David’s old palace on Mount Zion (the City of David; cf. 5:2; 1 Kings 3:1; 1 Chron. 11:5) to her new palace on the temple mount (cf. 1 Kings 7:8; 9:24). The reason given is that she, an Egyptian, would profane David’s palace which at one time had had such close connection with the ark of the covenant. Though the chronicler did not relate how the daughter of the Egyptian king (Pharaoh Siamun of Dynasty 21?) had become Solomon’s wife, the fact that she had implies the political strength and status of Israel’s king for he must have been regarded by Pharaoh as at least his equal.

Most say it was respectful, however BK Commentary says it was political. Nevertheless, why would a Leader want to marry someone that they could not bring before their Father (GOD) nor could they Worship their LORD together?

Consider the cost of the attractions of this world. They will no doubt lead even the most WISE men astray. Stay COMMITTED to the Kingdom of GOD.

  21. 11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

After doing such great works for the Lord and making sacrifices and the presence of God was so thick in the temple, Solomon, who had married Pharoahs wife, brought her out of the temple to keep it holy. From my understanding some of Solomon’s matrimony to all those wives were a stretegic move to prevent war from opposing countries.

Case in point…pharoah is less likely to attack them bc it is a place where his daughter resides. It was a wise decision from a strategic mentality to keep peace among other nations BUT we all know that Solomon eventually fell due to the amount of heathenish women in his life. So I look at this scripture and on the onset it seems pure and holy to remove his wife from such a place however bc he kept the company of ungodly influences it eventually led to him making temples and sacrifices to other gods of the women he married.

We must be careful of the company we keep, even if we think we are compartmentalizing them away from the holy things of God, just the mere entertaining of said company can lead to our demise. Not only do we need to be careful to seperate those things, we must be attentive that our actions arent influenced by it. The little fox spoils the vine, it is not the big things that cause us to fall, it is the subtle hints of influence that cause us to miss a step, then trip, lose balance and fall. in the world but not of it. loving people but not allowing them to mislead us.

  22. 2 Chronicles 6:11, “And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharoah out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.”

Solomon was married to a “worldly” woman, Pharoah’s daughter, and this is only one of his many “worldly” marriages that would lead to his spiritual downfall.

The scriptures that came to mind as I read the above scripture is 2 Cor. 6:14-16.
    14) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
    15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
    16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?…

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye seperate, and touch not the unclean thing!” We must keep ourselves seperated from this world, for we are the temple of the living God.

  23. 2 Solomon turned his attention to rebuilding the towns that King Hirama had given him, and he settled Israelites in them.

The temple was built and must be maintained. Solomon continued to maintain other towns, and rebuilding homes and buildings. We too must maintain our homes at all times. Our homes need attention just like churches do.

  24. 16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

Being an acceptable sacrifice to God.

We must present ourselves as such. The house of the Lord should be perfect. Yet we are not. But through his death and resurrection we are made perfect. Through him we can do all things. He is my all my everything.

  25. Solomons dedication to building the temple of the lord has reminded me of POFW . WHAT NOW? We have a beautiful church building but it’s still not full. What am I doing to fill it with lost souls? It more than just having a beautiful building to sit in and listen to good music and preaching. Yes there are friends and family we are working on and they come when they feel like it but we can’t settle for that we have to keep reaching even when they reject us it’s not you they are rejecting but God. We must work while it’s day because there is coming a day when time will be no more. God I pray for a burden for lost souls will be upon me and my family, that we will be soul winners for your kingdom! Keep our focus on you lord!

  26. 16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

Don’t stop the work of God until it is finished. So many times we will start something such as a true and sincere relationship with God, but once we get so far we just give up, we will never see what we can truly do while doing that. Don’t stop, don’t give up, keep building your relationship with God for the work of His kingdom is never done!

  27. “1 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,
2 That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
3 And Solomon went to Hamathzobah, and prevailed against it.
4 And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;”

There’s an importance when it comes to building the temple , in other words working on you spiritual lives. That is what this means to me … because you see along the way your going to have to prevail against issues and problems that will come your way … along the way you will run into people who will need your resources to be their personal relationship with God! To help build together! In order to prosper in all these areas , there has to be a focus on the one that is our BIGGEST supporter. Build your temple sacrificially and walk in righteousness so that God can use YOU as the example for others who have trusted in the WRONG base to support themselves!

  28. 1 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,

    5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

6 And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.

There is always room for more growth.

  29. 12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,

13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.

A relationship with God is every day. The words that stood out were every day. What are we offering to him every day? What are our sacrifices and offerings unto God look like? We cannot have a relationship with God of every now and then. We must be in constant communion and communication with Him through His Word and through prayer. We must really get to know him. What are we bringing as offering to Him every day? Time, tallent, treasure? We must find a place in our lives for God every day and offer to Him the sacrifice of praiseI will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, Until I find a place for the Lord , A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
    Ps 132:4‭-‬5 NKJV

  30. 2 Chronicles 8:1-2 NLT
It took Solomon twenty years to build the Lord’s Temple and his own royal palace. At the end of that time, Solomon turned his attention to rebuilding the towns that King Hiram had given him, and he settled Israelites in them.

Solomon shows here the attention and care applied to thr kingdom he ruled. As part of the church, the kingdom of God is not limited to just the four walls of the church house. Solomon attended to the needs of his own family, that of his people, and that of the relationships he had with others around him. We too have our “domain” in which we have influence and operate in spiritual authority, but that will only happen in full when taken outside the four walls of the church house.

Our families are souls to be ministered to that require an investment if our time and presence. Our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ require fellowship and ministry outside of scheduled service times. Our coworkers, neighbors, and friends need time to have an encounter with Jesus through us, not just a “speed dating” session of precisely 11.5 seconds before we have to move on. When Solomon went out to attend to the needs of the kingdom, he did it with an understanding of the souls affects; he did not focus solely upon “things” and success did not come in spite of the people of the kingdom but was a collective achievement for all of them together.

To be kingdom-minded goes far beyond doing things in God’s kingdom and thinking on those things, it is based in our attitude and motives and is an experience of WORSHIP by His Spirit in the Truth of His will and ways.

  31. We must offer to God what he is worthy of. We should not try to bring him just any old thing. We must bring him what is pleasing unto him.

  32. At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the Lord and his own palace,

Twenty years is a long time but he was determined. No matter how long your vision or prophesies may take don’t dismay. Continue to obey his commands and walking in his path. Don’t give up and don’t let this world consume you. Keep your faith and eyes on the Lord. Fast, Read, and Pray!!!!!

  33. 15 And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

16 Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.

    Unity in ministry

There will come a time when we will have to flow. If we are to have the capacity to minister to more people, we must learn to flow better. When have to be able to sync better, know what to do as if it were second nature. React without thinking, and it will only come thru excersise.
We need to prepare ourselves for the last day harvest, not wait until it’s here then react.
We must all work for the same goal, perfecting Gods work.

  34. “Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars”. The word of God (Jesus) records Solomon was the wisest man. Dear God, bless those that stand watch so that we may safely sleep at night. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  35. “And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.” Solomon had a house specially built for his wife. We should all give thought before entering a relationship, and especially so if we want the Lord’s blessings. God help us that we would do right in your sight, in Jesus name.

  36. 2 Chronicles 8:11 (NLT)
11 Solomon moved his wife, Pharaoh’s daughter, from the City of David to the new palace he had built for her. He said, “My wife must not live in King David’s palace, for the Ark of the Lord has been there, and it is holy ground.”

If it wasn’t good enough for the Lord then why would Solomon bring her into his home? Compromise isn’t obedience. This was one of the many things that led to solomon’s downfall.

  37. Here’s your sign

11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

I thought this should b a sign that he shouldn’t have taken this wife. If you can’t take your girlfriend to church then you shouldn’t marry her. Simple

  38. v11 Now Solomon brought the daughter of Pharaoh up from the City of David to the house he had built for her, for he said,” My wife shall not dwell in the house of David King of Israel, because the places to which the ark of the LORD has come are holy.”

Serving GOD requires a disciplined life of separation. When we no longer claim the world ( Egypt) HE claims us as family.
    HE IS HOLY!

  39. “Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭8:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Perfect

  40. “And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭8:11

In today’s culture it is hard to really realize he implications of these words. His wife was unholy and he knew it. He would not even allow her into the city because she was unholy. The reason that is so hard today is because wveryone looks brought their shades of gray. Acceptance and tolerance are spoken of EVERYWHERE. Things that used to be I tolerated are now bein welcomed. The unholy has come to stay. It is time for us to rise up and say, not in my house! We need to see things more clearly. Focus on truth. The black and white will come into focus and they gray will fade into the background. When we go back to they original settings on things our true focus will be on God and pleasing him.

  41. God.

I love you Lord. Thankyou for your kindness and friendship. This passage was about what you also gave Solomon. I know that sometimes we befall you Lord, but you are still on your throne and you see it to bless your children. When we think it’s ok it may not be w you. I pray that i will always pray first and acknowledge you first before I make decisions. Then you will bless me and when you do i will know….Yes there IS A GOD. I ALREADY know that you are alive but I will see your power come alive in my life.

Bless you Lord. I love you you are the greatest god ever.

  42. 14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

Solomon honored his fathers wishes out of respect because he knew that’s what his father wanted him to do. It was obedience to the man of God.

  43. 11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.

Solomon the wise King, married Pharaohs daughter brought her from the city of David to a palace that he he had built just for her. He knew well that she couldn’t live where the ark of the Lord has entered that are holy. Anything you have to hide is likely sin. What does light have to do with darkness? How can two walk together less they agree? He literally knew his wife had nothing to do with holiness. Many things are wrong with this picture.shortly after Solomon offers up a sacrifice unto the Lord “according to the daily requirement” now serving God is simply becoming a requirement and task. What good is it to meet some requirements and violate others. He is so devoted to the house of God and appointed priests to lead the praise and assist them daily. God warned the Israelites not to marry and yoke themselves with those of pagan nations because they will cause them to turn to false worship. It is worse to have known the goodness of God and turned our back on him. It’s better to recognize the error of our ways and repent. Solomon was so busy worrying about the temple and not deviating from those plans of his father that he neglected his own fleshly temple by uniting himself with an Egyptian wife. We have to be careful who we unite ourselves with because if we yoke up with unholy allies we might get dragged off in the wrong direction.

  44. Solomon started off strong. He built many cities and fortified walls. Their is archeological excavations that have found some of his projects. One is particular is his gates. Solomon had a six chambered gate that he was known for. Remains of a few of them have been found. They remain as a 3,000 year old testimony to the Bible’s truth.

  45. Solomon worked diligently to prepare a place that was perfect for God. We will never be perfect, it is not in our human nature, but we can strive to be the best we can be for God to dwell in.

  46. 12 Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,

What a great opportunity to orchestrate thousands of people, leading them into worship of God!
