2 Chronicles 9

1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

2 And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.

3 And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

4 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.

5 And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:

6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

9 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.

10 And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

11 And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the Lord, and to the king’s palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

12 And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.

13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

14 Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

15 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.

16 And three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

18 And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:

19 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

20 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

21 For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

24 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

26 And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

27 And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

28 And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

  1. As u can see in today chapter Solomon was very wise and bless because he obey and follow god Commandments

22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

  2. Verses 5-12 CEV “She said: Solomon, in my own country I had heard about your wisdom and all you’ve done. But I didn’t believe it until I saw it with my own eyes! And there’s so much I didn’t hear about. You are greater than I was told. Your people and officials are lucky to be here where they can listen to the wise things you say. I praise the Lord your God. He is pleased with you and has made you king of Israel. God loves the people of this country and will never desert them, so he has given them a king who will rule fairly and honestly. The Queen of Sheba gave Solomon almost five tons of gold, a large amount of jewels, and the best spices anyone had ever seen. In return, Solomon gave her everything she wanted—even more than she had given him. Then she and her officials went back to their own country.” I fashion this to what is happening at POFW. People are coming to see what is going on, what they have heard about and want to experience it for themselves. Unknowingly, they too will end up receiving more than what they came in with as the queen of Sheba did. We must continue to GROW and introduce Jesus to everyone who comes to see for themselves.

  3. 8. Praise the LORD your God, who delights in you and has placed you on the throne as king to rule for him. Because God loves Israel and desires this kingdom to last forever, he has made you king over them so you can rule with justice and righteousness.” NLT

If we are wise, we too will make sure others know that it is because of God’s blessings and favor that we are where we are, and not because of our own abilities.

  4. 22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

  5. 12 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba whatever she asked for—gifts of greater value than the gifts she had given him. Then she and all her attendants returned to their own land. (NLT)

King Jesus wants to bless us just the same!

  6. ……..Lucky the men and women who work for you, getting to be around you every day and hear your wise words firsthand! And blessed be your God who has taken such a liking to you, making you king. Clearly, God ’s love for Israel is behind this, making you king to keep a just order and nurture a God-pleasing people.”

Sounds like she met my Pastor!!! I know alot of “Pastors” and nobody no not one of them is like my Pastor or my First Lady!!! They are ONE OF A KIND!!! We at POFW ARE BLESSED!!!
    THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  7. “And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭9:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Wisdom beyond his years.
The lord had blessed him with great wisdom. He was smart and used it for the glorification of God. So God continued to bless him with friends and gold. I seek for wisdom beyond my years.

  8. “She said to the king, “It’s all true! Your reputation for accomplishment and wisdom that reached all the way to my country is confirmed. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself; they didn’t exaggerate! Such wisdom and elegance—far more than I could ever have imagined. Lucky the men and women who work for you, getting to be around you every day and hear your wise words firsthand! And blessed be your GOD who has taken such a liking to you, making you king. Clearly, GOD ’s love for Israel is behind this, making you king to keep a just order and nurture a God-pleasing people.””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭9:5-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Nothing can compare to Gods favor. When God’s hand is on your life everyone will know about it.

  9. 13 The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents,
I have never in my life noticed this before, does this 666 have anything to do with the endtime 666? Makes you think?

Solomon was a wise man and had lots of riches, can God trust us with lots of riches and money? What would we do if God blessed with money? Would we give to the church FIRST? Or would we spend other ways first, God knows who he can trust and who can’t trust and that is or may be what Is stopping someone’s blessing.

  10. The blessings of God. For they are yea and amen. Ask God. Ask him for the very best, because he is the very best. And he is our father that wants to give good gifts to his children. But we don’t ask. Ask and you shall be blessed.

  11. iLove to Grow in the Word
“she was overwhelmed. She was also amazed at the food on his tables, the organization of his officials and their splendid clothing, the cup-bearers and their robes, and the burnt offerings Solomon made at the Temple of the LORD.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭9:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let’s make this Western Day the most organized one ever! Lord grant The Pentecostals of Fort Worth great wisdom in order that folks from all over the region will receive what they need from the Lord.

  12. 7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

Because of the position that God has placed Solomon in, he was able to use Solomon to reach other people that were in high authority. He was able to influence someone who was in a position of high authority like he was and he was able to show her how good his God had been to him. We need to use our positions in life to reach other people to show them how good God has been to us.

  13. 2 Chronicles 9:3 & 5-6
    3) And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
    5) And she said to the king. It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:
    6) Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

St. Matthew 12:42 says, “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”

If the queen of Sheba come to hear Solomon’s wisdom, and all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, how much more should we come and seek the Presence and Wisdom of God. “Behold, a GREATER than than Solomon is hear!” (JESUS CHRIST).

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me!!

  14. 22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

24 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

When God’s blessings are over a person God blesses everything about them. Not only was Solomon blessed but everyone that served under him was blessed also. God’s bleeding and gifts are contagious if we will just get in line and be submitted to the Pastor our lives will be able to enjoy the blessings of God as well.

  15. 7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

The Queen of Sheba not only noticed the beauty and riches of the temple. But she took notice of the faces of those who served Happy are these thy servant. They served with gladness their faces expressed their happiness in what they were doing. Solomon and all his wisdom had caught the attention of the Queen. Is our attitude and expressions in serving Our King drawing others to come before our King to seek what He has for them. I pray so….Lord keep my heart and my life as I serve you with gladness.

  16. 7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.
8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

  17. 1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

Some people talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. The queen came to see if Solomon was genuine and he walked what he talked.

How sad it is for Holy Ghost filled people to say one thing with their mouth and their actions are totally different. To uphold our character and integrity it is important that we live and walk what we speak.

People are watching and listening to what we say and do. We are the only bible some people read.

  18. 8. Praise the LORD your God, who delights in you and has placed you on the throne as king to rule for him. Because God loves Israel and desires this kingdom to last forever, he has made you king over them so you can rule with justice and righteousness.” NLT

  19. THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF LEADERS

Mature, strong Leaders understand the value of giving answers to questions from other leaders. Often the questions are to clarify or educate, but too often the questions are mistaken for challenges. In this chapter the Queen of Sheba a successful leader in her own right.

“The Queen of Sheba, according to the biblical narrative, was a woman of great wealth, beauty, and power. Sheba, believed to be either in Ethiopia or Yemen by most biblical scholars, was a well-established city, and, although there is little evidence outside the Bible as to the nature of the monarchy and how it was established, it is clear that the Queen of Sheba ruled alone and was not enamored with the religions in her own land.”

Solomon gave answer to all her questions. 2 principals in Leadership we glean from this passage.

    1. Regardless of your position or authority we should always be seeking MORE. The queen was already an established leader, but she inquired of Solomon. Leaders are continually educated.

    2. Leaders should always know why we do what we do and how we became who we are. Solomon was prepared to answer the queens questions. Insecure leaders become irritated because they are intimidated when questions are asked.

The apostle Peter in his epistle to the church, reveals to us the importance of this principal:

1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Often our accountability will assist us in answering questions about ourselves. Do not be defensive or offended when we are asked questions. Possibly we are assessing others with our answers.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  20. 1 When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. She arrived with a large group of attendants and a great caravan of camels loaded with spices, large quantities of gold, and precious jewels. When she met with Solomon, she talked with him about everything she had on her mind.

Just like when giving a bible study, the students will come in with hard questions. We as the instructor must prepare ourselves and be ready for an answer.

  21. Solomon was wise and very rich because God had blessed him. Solomon wasn’t perfect and neither are we, the blessings that God gives us we use according to our will but if we would seek the will of God in using his blessing to bless others he could bless us abundantly with riches that we can not contain.

  22. 8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

The testimony of your words and actions will reach areas beyond of your understandings. With that said, let us be aware of what we do, what we say, and how we act; so we may be a beacon in the darkness of this world. Lord help us use our knowledge with wisdom so we may lead others to you in Jesus Name Amen

  23. 8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

Blessings and the favor of the Lord! God you are so good! Just like God did it back then he can do it for us right now. We serve the same God and he the same yesterday, today and forever.

  24. 22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

  25. 6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

God’s grace is abundant. His favor will continually go before us and bless those that are under us.

  26. 22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

All this goes back to a petition for wisdom. We too are to oay attention to this examples and obey the words in proverbs. Seek wisdom knowglwdge and understanding but above all things seek to know God.

  27. 22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

None surpassed him in wisdom and wealth, he truly had the blessings of the Lord upon his life. He was a witness for the Lord God of Israel to all the Kings around him and I’m sure he impressed them all. He built many temples to many false gods and had many strange wives, but was he really right in Gods eyes? It’s who we are when others aren’t watching that God sees.

  28. “Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.” The word of God (Jesus) identifies their appearance, which even the queen observed. Solomon was more than wise, elsewise they would have simply served. Dear God, let compassion and wisdom be equally birthed in us all. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. “And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.” The queen of Sheba had become a believer. If Solomon would have not told her then he would have been deceptive; however because he did there was a friendship developed. God let us be mindful of the actions of Solomon, in Jesus name

  30. 7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

  31. 2 Chronicles 9:22-24 (NLT)
22 So King Solomon became richer and wiser than any other king on earth. 23 Kings from every nation came to consult him and to hear the wisdom God had given him. 24 Year after year everyone who visited brought him gifts of silver and gold, clothing, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.

The key to this passage is God had given it. When we live for him and do his will he will bless us. However when we forget what got us there and stop doing why he was blessing then the blessing then becomes a curse to us. We must never forget what got us here in the first place and always be careful to give God to glory for every “accomplishment” we have.

It is Christ in us the hope of glory. He works in us to do his good pleasure.

  32. v8 ” Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on HIS throne to be king for the LORD your God! Because your God has loved Diesel, to establish them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”
It must have been amazing to witness the beautiful blessings of GOD… Surely Solomon had learn the
secret of giving unto the LORD.
As a person generously supports the work of the LORD, HE will generously bless that person.

  33. 1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

I often wonder when people view my life what do they tell others? When viewing Solomons life we see the Wisdom God granted Him after his request.

It should be our desire to pray and allow God to shape our lives to be examples for His glory.

  34. a great king.

Great leaders are wise. They know how to make the best of what they have. Solomons daddy taught him as a child to be thankful and a good steward. When someone that knows how to take care of things has a lot of finances it just grows. When we are faithful In a little he will make us ruler over much. Solomons wisdom made his kingdom great. But you cannot forget who gave him the wisdom.

    The great King

  35. 7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

Happy are thy servants!!! As servants we shouldn’t be looking to be recognized but to do everything with gladness as if we were doing it unto the Lord. Help me see with spiritual eyes Jesus…that I would do everything with gladness.

  36. The Queen of Sheba referred to as the Queen of the South in the New Testament, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon. A reputation can draw many to a person. When the reputation is validated in truth, it is a good thing. Let us each have a reputation about us, one that is good. Then may we validate it through truth. A good name is worth more than riches.

  37. 1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spicezips, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

When people hear of the blessings God has given us some will harden their hearts or they will rejoice. Sheba was skeptical at first and prepared to ask him hard questions. Nothing is to hard for God and he welcomes the Queen to enlighten her of who has blessed him with wisdom and wealth. She felt comfortable enough to speak out of her heart to him. A man she has never met before now. When we are ambassadors of Christ Jesus people will see the testimony of how we serve and how God blesses us. If we can be Jesus to others, Jesus will operate through us to touch others.

  38. 6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

Our biblical wisdom will bring peace to this pagan world. We see Solomon using the gift God bestowed upon him to do good. Because of what he did, the lands around that were looking at him were proved to know the God he served.
My our wisdom give God all the glory. That everything we do shine a light on the originator of all things.

  39. 9 And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?

10 And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.

  40. “And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭21:12

Sometimes the words of a person come through writings. THteae words are no less strong on paper than they are in voice. Sometimes the written words of a person are more valuable than the spoken words simply because they can be looked back on to se EXACTLY what the message was. We need to look back at the written word and see the value of it among the clanging symbols that are the voices in this world.

  41. “King Solomon, for his part, gave the queen of Sheba all her heart’s desire—everything she asked for. She took away more than she brought. Satisfied, she returned home with her train of servants.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The answers that she got was worth more than all the stuff she brought. Until we realize how valuable Answers are we will not understand how it’s value was worth more than all her things.
