2 Chronicles 30

1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel.

2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

4 And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the Lord God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.

13 And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

15 Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the Lord.

16 And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the Lord.

18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one

19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

21 And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the Lord.

22 And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the Lord: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the Lord God of their fathers.

23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.

24 For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

  1. Verse 9 AMP “For if you return to the Lord, your brothers (relatives) and your children will find compassion in the presence of those who led them away captive and will return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and He will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.” What a recall: “Come home to the place where you belong”! Your return will impact not only you; but, your family and future generations. We cannot stop praying, cannot not stop praising and cannot stop trying to help people clasp God’s outstretched hand as it says in the MSG. The power of our prayers can be heard as God responded to Hezekiah’s prayer in verse 20 MSG and in verse 27 when he heard the priests and Levites. Psalm 18:6 NLT says “But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.”

  2. 12. At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD.

    26. There was great joy in the city, for Jerusalem had not seen a celebration like this one since the days of Solomon, King David’s son.
    27. Then the priests and Levites stood and blessed the people, and God heard their prayer from his holy dwelling in heaven. NLT

Lord, we pray for Your hand to be upon us to give us one heart to follow Your Word, that there may be great joy in our cities in JESUS Name, Amen.

  3. 10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

We need to remember this as we go out to do outreach of any kind. Not everybody is going to receive the Word of the LORD. But don’t give up. There are those diverse people out there who are hungry for God who will travel from all over who want to hear the Truth of God’s Word. And when they come they will not be clean, but that’s what is so amazing… Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

  4. Unity bring Victory

I do not find it strange that once everyone came together in unity the Bible says “their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

I truly believe God desires for us to sit in heavenly places and bind in the earth things that are already bound in heaven and loose upon the earth that which is already loosed in heaven. Yet unity plays a key role in our ability to see His kingdom established here on earth.

It’s is important that we not only feel after and walk in Unity with Him but also each other. I am not putting restraints on God because He is God but I am trying to clarify a principal we find throughout His Word.

When we the church get serious about reaching this world with the Gospel we will get serious about walking in unity and allowing nothing to seperate us from each other.

Unity is not always easy but the greatest victories are intentional, not easy. Let us bind together and be intentional in our Prayer, Outreach, and Praise.

We started 2016 with 40 Days of Passion and focused on Prayer, Outreach, and Praise. Now let us end 2016 with a bang . Let’s unify our efforts to intentionally War in the spirit, then go Outreach into this region taking spoil. Yet all the while let us Praise. Praise during the war, praise while we outreach and Praise in the Victory.

Alone I can reach a thousand but all of us together we can reach the masses. Let us labor together to spread the Gospel.

  5. 2 Chronicles 30:1 & 10-11 (NLT)
    1) King Hezekiah now sent word to all Israel and Judah, and he wrote letters of invitation to the people of Ephraim and Manasseh. He asked everyone to come to the Temple of the LORD at Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of the LORD, the God of Israel.
    10) The runners went from town to town throughout Ephraim and Manasseh and as far as the territory of Zebulun. But most of the people just laughed at the runners and made fun of them.
    11) However, some people from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.

    Outreach & Invite.
Every Saturday POFW has Outreach and passes out hundreds and sometimes thousands of Invitations for people to come to Church.
Yes, there will be those who will laugh and make fun of you. They will even get mad, throw the flyer on the ground, and slam a door in your face, BUT (except for the fact) there are some who Will Receive that Invitation and Come.

God Bless Bro. Johnson and the Outreach Team, The Bus Ministry Team, and Follow Up Team who “GO” and Outreach and Invite souls to come to Church.

  6. 12. At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD.
When God has called you to a place of leadership and authority he will give those that follow you the heart to do something for God. Thank God for leadership that pleases God and follows him.

  7. Serve GOD, your God. You’ll no longer be in danger of his hot anger. If you come back to GOD, your captive relatives and children will be treated compassionately and allowed to come home. Your GOD is gracious and kind and won’t snub you—come back and he’ll welcome you with open arms.

Backsliders have a difficult time coming back to God. I know, i was a backslider. There is so much shame associated with failing God and then returning to stand in His presence and cone face to face with your failures.

Some spouses who fail their mates feel such shame they would rather go through a divorce than admit the failures and face up to the consequences.

God, our God is not so quick to judge. He stands calling His lost sheep to come home. Just come home, all can be forgiven! Turn from your wicked ways – repent. He is a God who is quick to forgive.

  8. 8 Do not be stubborn, as they were, but submit yourselves to the Lord. Come to his Temple, which he has set apart as holy forever. Worship the Lord your God so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. (NLT)

If you’re living life how you want and can’t figure out why things aren’t exactly going right, consider wholly submitting yourself to God and His will. Crazy thought huh?!

  9. 2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him

All God wants from any individual is to be sanctified, regardless of what has happened. Too many people get all worked up on the judging aspect of God’s rule, while others are leaning on mercy too much and forgetting that part even exist. It is imperative that we help people confront their shame, that there is still redemption in God. That is all He is wanting no matter how unclean they’ve been. Things were done to replace those that had not sanctified themselves to make an atonement in their place. Once all had been done, there was great rejoicing such as had not been done before since the time of Solomon. Lets let people see that side of God, that we will step in place of their uncleanness, sacrifice our time and talent to God to allow them to feel that joy and be made whole again.

  10. 3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

They couldn’t have church because the priest wasn’t ready. Wow! Even the preacher has to get ready. How many times were we suppose to be ready and we’re not? Here’s the thing. Jesus is coming back for a ready bride. Nit one that says wait let me get ready. When you go on a date with your significant other. Do you prepare to go out or do you just jump in the truck and go after a long hot day at work? No in their right mind would do that. But that’s how we come into church services. We come in from a long day at work or week and say. Ok God what do you have for me? But have we really prepared to meet up with the king of kings? If the queen of England would call you right now and say you will meet me in two days. Would you get up and put on a pair of jeans and teenie shoes or would you get in a nice suit and tie with polished shoes? More than likely you do the latter. But how do we present ourselves to the one true living God? We must prepare for an audience with the KING!

  11. UNITED IN PRAISE

12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.

There is such activity in the supernatural realm when we PRAISE JESUS, we are not able to comprehend. As we Praise, we release the hand of GOD to operate on hearts. Uniting us to and for the purpose of fulfilling the will of GOD. Praise releases angels and enthrones GOD as he inhabits or rules from that place of praise.

Peace and Unity is the will and plan of GOD for his Kingdom. For this reason we are all called to walk in humility, forgiving one another. Yielding ourselves to one another in the love of GOD. The Church should be the place filled with LOVE, PEACE, JOY and PRAISE. We witness in this chapter what true consecration produces. It is our time to rise and declare a celebration of our GOD.

It appears they even did door to door outreach to invite all to the REVIVAL meeting.

6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king,

May the LORD JESUS inspire the Church of JESUS to rise today for the cause of endtime REVIVAL and Harvest. We desperately need REVIVAL NOW.

    iPraise

  12. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one

19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

Before we can seek after God, we need to prepare our heart to seek after him, what does this mean? I believe it means we need to lay our emotions aside, because there is many times or days you may not have the energy or you don’t feel like seeking after him. But we need to lay those emotions aside, because we need to lay down our will aside. When we lay down our will and let God take over, then we can seek after him with a passion and fire for him.

  13. “At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭30:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord, may your hand be upon POFW and give us one heart to obey the orders of our Pastor who is following your Word.

  14. 6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

The messengers were told go and they went. It wasn’t their responsibility to worry about the outcome it was their job to go and spread the message. Many laughed and mocked them but they continued with their royal duty to deliver the message throughout all the land. Even though many refused there were still many that humbled themselves and received the word. Had the messengers been discouraged and quit then many would not have the opportunity to turn their hearts back to God. Today we have been sent to preach the gospel to all people, no they will not all receive it but that isn’t our concern. Our responsibility is to spread the message of Jesus to all people so God can draw them out and change their lives. If we get discouraged and quit then many will not get the opportunity to turn their lives back to God.

  15. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written.

The prayer of a righteous man avails much as the scripture says. Hezekiah wasn’t the priest, but a godly leader and God heard his prayer. As leaders of POFW, we must pray for our nation, state, families, friend and neighbors for God to turn the heart of the people to him and to heal our land. When in unison with our pastor, God will hear our prayers and prepare the hearts of the people for his will to be done on earth.

  16. 9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

The lord is merciful and gracious he will never forsaken us what a mighty god we serve

  17. 6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the Lord God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

A plead to backsliders and the promise of restoration for all those who heed the plea to return to the Lord.

  18. Just Go

The fields are white and ready to harvest. Just Go and God will provide. We were called to help save the lost all around. Dont be afraid of all the work that comes along with God will give you strength! If God is for us who can be against us! We are mighty with the power of the Holy Ghost that is within us, and mighty when we are in UNITY! Together let complete our MISSION!!!

  19. iLove to Grow in the Word
2 Chronicles 30:12-13 NLT (12) At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD. (13) So a huge crowd assembled at Jerusalem in midspring to celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread.

Wow, look at these verses…Because of the Leadership of the king, God put his hand upon the people and caused a spirit of unity to come upon the people. The results are that huge crowds assembled at the temple to celebrate.

I just got a crazy understanding of Western Day. Yep. When we work in the spirit of unity (like we do for big events) it is the hand of God upon us and by God’s principles and laws of the Kingdom, draws huge crowds of people. This is the work of God through us being led by our pastor.

    Wow, this is interesting.

  20. 9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

God is merciful, he will not turn away from you if you turn to him and follow his commandments. He has the power to deliver you from your enemies.

  21. 2 Chronicles 30:22 And Hezekiah speak comfortably into all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the Lord and they did eat throughout the feast 7 Days offering peace offerings and making confession to the Lord God of their fathers. And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other 7 days and they kept other 7 days with gladness. For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thounsand bullocks and seven thousand sheep and the princess gave to the congregation a thousand bullets and ten thousand sheep and a great number of priests sanctified themselves. And all the congregation of Judah with the priest and the Levites and all the congregation that came out of Israel and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel and that dwelt in Judah rejoiced.

  22. 2 Chronicles 30:12 (NLT)
12 At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the Lord.

When the leadership chose to follow the Lord they were leading the people in the right direction. This in turn led to God empowering them. His hand was upon them, and he gave them a heart to obey.

If we will lead people toward Jesus he will empower us and give us a heart to obey those following the Lord.

  23. “So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.” The word of God (Jesus) identifies deception. They had been deceived, elsewise they would have understood and believed. One should do ones part in telling others; however the key can sometimes be in the delivery. Dear God, bless us with your compassion. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  24. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one 19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

The king’s prayer was accepted by the Lord “And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people”. Therefore we should pray in the same like manner, as we would want the same for ourselves. God give us a heart like Hezekiah that we would pray for others, in Jesus name.

  25. 8 Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.

I just love how clear the Word is that we have nothing else to say….as I come across when I teach a HBS we read the verses and the Word is so clear that it pierces our hearts and leaves us speechless. God has given us the liberty to serve Him with our own will. He will force us to serve Him but when we do He blesses us. I will Obey, Submit, Serve, Love, and Follow the Lord with my heart, mind, soul, and strength!!!!

  26. The people turned back to God and reestablished the covenant. The writer claims it was the best day since Solomon’s reign. That gives us an idea of how excited they were. There is joy in be reunited with the Lord. May that same joy be upon the hearts of backsliders and they come back home.

  27. v24 ” And a great number of priests sanctified themselves.”

GOD still favorably responds to the person who desires spiritual cleansing and forgiveness.
Thank GOD for HIS precious blood!

“And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine” Leviticus 20:26

  28. 17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the Lord.

    Don’t leave anyone behind

This reminds me of the Job story.
    Job 1:5 MSG
His sons used to take turns hosting parties in their homes, always inviting their three sisters to join them in their merrymaking. When the parties were over, Job would get up early in the morning and sacrifice a burnt offering for each of his children, thinking, “Maybe one of them sinned by defying God inwardly.” Job made a habit of this sacrificial atonement, just in case they’d sinned.

Just in case! God saw this to. Be a good thing. We have a responsibility not just. With our families but with body of Christ, to intercede for them, just in case. So that when we come before the Lord they may also be sanctified.

  29. God is gracious and loving. He accepts all those who come into Him. Let’s pray that we are just as compassionate towards those who have gotten lost through their journey or have fallen into delusions. Every soul is important, even the ‘backsliders’

  30. 8 Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.

God chose this generation for a reason. We learn from the elders above us and learn from there mistakes and rights. God chose this generation to have our eyes open and turn us around to be saved and to save others. Just like the generation in this chapter learned there wrongs and went to go repent and be saved, we will save this generation in Jesus name.

  31. 12At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD.

We are God’s people, his hand is upon each one of us. He will protect, guide and bless us.

  32. em unto the Lord.

18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one

I believe this was not just any other prayer but a true heart felt prayer od intercession. We too can do much for the people of this city and those that have left the ways of God that the Lord will forgive them.

  33. “For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭30:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is gracious and is faithful to his people. Especially those who walk in humility and diligently seek his face.

  34. Hezekiah invites “all Israel” to come celebrate the passover in Jerusalem. The timing is good for Hezekiah to unite the north and south. The Assyrians (2Ki 17:1-6) control the north and the influence of king Hoshea of Israel is vanquished. Some of the people of the northern tribes respond to Hezekiahs invitation and other don’t. Both the temple and priesthood are in a bit of disarray because of the state Hezekiahs father left it. Really he has a lot of work to do until anyone can worship or sacrifice at the temple. So he restores it as quickly as possible, yet all the preparations are not completed in time to have the Passover at the usual time on the “fourteenth day of the first month” (Lev 23:5). Hezekiah and his officials decide it is justifiable to celebrate the Passover in the second month due to this exception mentioned in Moses’ law (Nu 9:10-11). Hezekiah chooses to follow God and his ways. He remains intentional about challenging and inspiring the people to follow.
