2 Chronicles 31

1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

2 And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the Lord.

3 He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the Lord.

4 Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the Lord.

5 And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

6 And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the Lord their God, and laid them by heaps.

7 In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.

8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord, and his people Israel.

9 Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

10 And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.

11 Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the Lord; and they prepared them,

12 And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.

13 And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Cononiah and Shimei his brother, at the commandment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.

14 And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of the Lord, and the most holy things.

15 And next him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:

16 Beside their genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the Lord, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;

17 Both to the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;

18 And to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:

19 Also of the sons of Aaron the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites.

20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.

21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

  1. 4 Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the Lord.

8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord, and his people Israel.

When we honor and obey the laws and statutes God gives us we thrive. The offering was so large it took them four months to get through it all. Jesus, I pray that we not only turn our WHOLE hearts to you, but EVERY PART of our lives, including everything we bring in. Lord, I pray we turn our finances, the work of our hands, the fruit of our womb, everything to you. Jesus let us delight in your laws and in your statutes. Help us to support Your work and Your house with the fruit of our lives and all we have.

  2. 20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.

21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

All it took was one king to change the pace and the direction of the entire generation. It wasnt easy, it was challenging and took a lot of work, plenty of sacrifices but they prospered because God blessed every effort they mad.

  3. THE REWARD AND BLESSING OF TRUTH

20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.
21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

In a generation and society that has streamlined everything we do from food preparation to service facilities, the internet has empowered to connect globally in seconds. This same connection was birthed in the SPIRIT of GOD. Through PRAYER we are empowered to connect globally with believers of like faith.

This technology lifestyle also has occasion to torment the flesh. When we are not able to take possession of a promise immediately, see the fruit of an offering quickly, witness the answer to prayer in a our perceived time.

The WORD of GOD cleary identifies a plan for success.

  4. iLove to Grow in the Word
2 Chronicles 31:21 NLT In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.

Wow, here is yet more proof that true success is faithfulness to God. By having a pure heart and a huge passover service, it caused the people to make a decision to follow the Lord and smash the idols.

  5. 20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.
21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

This king turned Judah and parts of Israel back to serving their God and the key was that he served God with all his heart. This created a great example for the people to follow.

  6. 20 This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah; and he did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.
21 Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in keeping with the law and the commandment, seeking and inquiring of his God [and longing for Him], he did with all his heart and prospered. (NLT)

That last night above says, “he did with all his heart and prospered.” In all things be faithful, obedient and do it all with your whole heart!

  7. 2 Chronicles 31:20 This is what Hezekiah did thoughout Judah doing what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s Temple and in obedience to the law and the commands he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

  8. 20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God.

21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

  9. 10 And Azar iah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
notice in this verse that as a result of bringing the offerings into the house of the Lord they had enough to Eat. but not only enough they had plenty left over because God had blessed them For their sacrifices. When God blesses his people he does not give us just enough he gives us more than enough and blessed us beyond measure , we serve a God of the Overflow !

  10. 4 In addition, he asked the people who lived in Jerusalem to be responsible for providing for the priests and Levites so they, without distraction or concern, could give themselves totally to The Revelation of God.

These people didn’t even have to think about what they were going to do, they just did it knowing it was the will of the Lord. We need have that faith in the man of God, when he ask of us we just do know God is using him. With no doubt or distraction in our chose. Time to put faith in our Lord and his people, not have doubt in him and his chose, let’s give ourself to the revelation of God!

  11. 2 Chronicles 31:5-10 (NLT)
    5) Whent the people of Israel heard these requirements, they responded generously by bringing the First Share of their grain, new wine, olive oil, honey, and all the produce of their fields. They brought a large quantity – a Tithe of all they produced.
    6) The people who had moved to Judah from Israel, and the people of Judah themselves, brought in the Tithes of their cattle, sheep, and goats and a Tithe of the things that had been dedicated to the LORD their God, and they piled them up in great heaps.
    7) They began piling them up in late spring, and the heaps continued to grow until early autumn.
    8) When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw these huge piles, they thanked the LORD and his people Israel!
    9) “Where did all this come from?” Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites.
    10) And Azariah the high priest, from the family of Zadok, replied, “Since the people began bringing their gifts to the LORD’s Temple, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare. The LORD has blessed his people, and all this is left over.”
    11) Hezekiah ordered that storerooms be prepared in the Temple of the LORD. When this was done,
    12) the people faithfully brought all the gifts, Tithes, and other items dedicated for use in the Temple. Conaniah the Levite was put in charge, assisted by his brother Shimei.

This passage of scripture made me think of Malachi 3:10 (NLT), “Bring all the Tithe into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”

  12. 1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

Will you follow the will of God or your own?

  13. 3 He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the Lord.

  14. 21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

Attitude is everything. If we are blessed and prospered depends upon us. How do we see ministry? Is it something “we have ” to do, or is it something that we have been blessed to be allowed to participate in?

How we present ministry to others is also important. It could determine how they approach ministry as well.

  15. 10 And Azar iah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left

When God provides he always goes above and beyond!

  16. 10 And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.

  17. 5 And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

First fruits of everything was brought t. As soon as they were commanded . They did not question their tithe they did as was commanded. Bringing to the temple because they were blessed abundantly. Give sparingingly reap sparingly. Give abundantly reap abundantly.

  18. v5 As soon as the commandment was circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance the first fruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

As a person generously supports the work of the LORD, HE will generously bless that person.

  19. “Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭31:1, 21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The beginning of the chapter starts by tell what all three did in their obedience. The end of the chapter tells the benifit of him of his obedience.

There is great benifit in the follow through of what God tells you to do.

  20. 21. In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful. NLT

    Psalm 119:2 KJV
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

  21. “Also of the sons of Aaron the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites.” The word of God (Jesus) defines how and whom was too receive. Dear God, let our ways be acceptable too you. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  22. “And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” Hezekiah put the Lord first; therefore he was prosperous. Although there will be diverse seasons in our lives, which may be challenging we must strive to do likewise. God help us too be mindful and put you first in our lives, in Jesus name.

  23. 2 Chronicles 31:20-21 (KJV Strong’s)
20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God. 21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

Hezekiah applied the biblical principle of doing all that you do as unto the Lord. Here we see this played out and God blessed all that he did in the service of the house of God, in the law, and in his commandments.

This world is temporary. Whenever we do our daily jobs, ministry, or serving as to the Lord, our payday is not here but in the world to come.

Do not be weary in well doing. We shall reap if we faint not. Payday is coming and in all labor there is profit. The only thing that limits the size of the payday is the amount of labor.

  24. 2 And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the Lord.

3 He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the Lord.

Every one has a place in the Kingdom of God. All can do their share and ministry and they are all important. What can we do for God?? The best answer i say would be get involved.

  25. Religious reform continues. The people reunite with God and the King is a success. We continue to see the struggle of keeping the covenant as the work to get in tune with God.

  26. 11 Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the Lord; and they prepared them,

12 And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.

As we faithfully give offering, tithes, and the dedicated things to God the house will have a supply to fulfill its obligations but it will also have a abundance to store for seasons of drought.

We cannot allow ourselves to stop giving because we have “given enough” or we always “give the most” this attitude will not only kill your blessing but it will kill the desire within you to be faithful.

Faithfulness is very important in the kingdom. It positions us into a place of aboundance so we can store for the seasons of drought. So let’s be faithful in all thing concerning the Kingdom and faithful to deny the things that will taint our walk with God.

  27. 10 And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.

11 Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the Lord; and they prepared them,

  28. 1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

Follow God no matter what situation your going through.

  29. Verse 5 NLT “When the people of Israel heard these requirements, they responded generously by bringing the first share of their grain, new wine, olive oil, honey, and all the produce of their fields. They brought a large quantity—a tithe of all they produced.”. The people of Israel didn’t just obey by responding; but they did it generously.

  30. “In this way, King Hezekiah handled the distribution throughout all Judah, doing what was pleasing and good in the sight of the LORD his God. In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭31:20-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord, I pray that we would seek you wholeheartedly and that would withhold nothing. And we would do everything in our power to follow your Word, your Spirit and your man of God you have put in our lives.

  31. 10 Azariah, chief priest of the family of Zadok, answered, “From the moment of this huge outpouring of gifts to The Temple of God, there has been plenty to eat for everyone with food left over. God has blessed his people—just look at the evidence!” MSG

God has truly blessed the people of POFW – just look at the evidence! Here we sit in a massive beautiful brand new building with brand new seats, lights, sound, A/C – everything. It is more than I ever imaged I would be a part of. We prayed, fasted and fought for this blessing and we will continue to pray, fast and fight for this building, the ministries that have yet been birthed and the promise of the souls that are coming.

  32. 21In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.

We too should seek God wholeheartedly! Once we do, we’ll see the blessings of the Lord upon us.
