Ezra 1

1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

7 Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;

8 Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

9 And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,

10 Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.

11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

  1. God’s house.

I love being in God’s house. It really depends too if His spirit is there too. I’ve been to churches where God is not there. When I was going to pofw I felt God there all the time. Thankyou Jesus. I live far from church but maybe I can go. Never been in the new building yet.
But I have a good remeberance of those days.
I thankyou Jesus for the blog where I can go to and talk about the Lord and His goodness.
This message was to me about how God honors His house and telling them what to do. When someone is in need try to help them. When the sick or needy is in need try to bring a gift which will be a freewill gift. Or even a kind word to them. I’m working on self everyday. I want to b e the person God wants me to be, That’s my prayer today.
Thank you saints I love y’all

  2. Verses 5-7 AMP “Then the heads of the fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites, all those whose spirits God had stirred up, [d]arose to go up and rebuild the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem. All those who were around them encouraged them with articles of silver, with gold, with goods, with cattle, and with valuable things, in addition to all that was given as a freewill offering. Also King Cyrus brought out the articles of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem [when he captured that city] and had put in the house of his gods.” The Lord is stirring up the hearts of people and we must arise and go (respond to the call and help restore).

  3. 5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

  4. Ezra 1:5 (NLT)
“Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the LORD.”

God STIR our hearts to “GO” and build your kingdom.

  5. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Jesus said if the people will not worship him, then He will have the rocks cry out to him. IF his people and the king he set over them will not build Him a house, then He will have a secular king do it. God WILL be glorified and WILL be worshiped, the question is WILL it be us that do so willingly or will He have to find something or someone to replace our spot?

  6. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

They began to unite to build The house of The LORD!!! UNITY IS IMPERATIVE!!!

  7. iLove to Grow in the Word
1In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom:
According to this scripture, we see a couple things. One is Gods prophets will always be right and the prophecies will always be fulfilled. The next is more complex. It’s the fact that God uses the pagan kings of the land to accomplish His Will. This is amazing to think that God even uses pagans but also humbling in the fact that when God uses us it doesn’t necessarily mean he approves of us and our actions… remember he used a donkey…it just means he can use pagans as well as prophets.

  8. Ezra 1:5 (NLT)
“Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the LORD.”
When God is ready to move he stirs the heart of His people. God stir and motivate us to fulfill your will and purpose.

  9. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

  10. 9And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
10 Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

Everything that the enemy stole. GOD has given it back to me . Believe and have faith that the storm is only for a season.

  11. GO BUILD

We witness the eternal call of GOD to GO BUILD. At The POFW we have gone from Renting, to Remodeling and not to Relocate. The initiative came as the result of GOD speaking and GOD sending us to build.

Now that we have built a building and relocated, does not mean that we have fulfilled all of the plan of GOD. We have been obedient in the building of the facility and NOW it is TIME to GO BUILD his CHURCH. The PEOPLE. We should allow the LORD our GOD through his Holy Spirit to raise us up to GO BUILD lives, by IMPACTING them with the Gospel of JESUS.

GO BUILD FAITH in people who are discouraged today.
GO BUILD LOVE in people that are hurting today.
GO BUILD HOPE in people that feel like giving up today.
GO BUILD JOY In people that are sad today.
GO BUILD PEACE in people that are confused or disgruntled.

We can find an opportunity in every day to GO BUILD the House of the LORD by BUILDING people.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  12. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

As i read this chapter 3 time i see the input they put in this temlp and the giving our daily self is the temple the bible say we are is temple. In the bible days temlpe was uesd for praying giving and offering sacrifice. Now the temlpe is the church we are the church.
Every day we need to continue. To build our temlpe with prayer. And daily reading

  13. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

The way I see this if you can leave it all behind and work at the house of the Lord do it; but if you are unable to give with your labor give of your gold and silver in addition of your Tithe and peace offering. What a Joy it is to know that our Pastor follow this to build our church!

  14. 3 Whoever is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel–he is the God who is in Jerusalem. ESV
I look at this verse as it is time for us to clean up and build our house where God can live inside us. God can’t live inside our hearts if we have sin in our hearts. God and the world can’t live in the same house. So what is clogging up your house today? Made me stop and think, it’s time to start cleaning so I can rebuild the house that God’s wants and can live in.

  15. 5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

    1 Timothy 1:6-7
     Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

  16. 3 Any of you who are his people may go to Jerusalem in Judah to rebuild this Temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives in Jerusalem. And may your God be with you! NLT

We’ve been CHOSEN to Go! HE isn’t making us go, its our opportunity to!
The Verse even states that God will go with us!

4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

Vs 4 stats that whosoever remaineth, letting us know that not everyone wants to GO.

5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

  17. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

When we answer the call to do what God has called, equipped and anointed us to day, God will strengthen our hands by sending labors with time, talent and treasure to assist us in answering the call.

  18. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

Go up in praise, we must build our on temple to praise the Lord. We must Create a house of prayer in our own selves. That is the beauty that we can pray and be filled with His Spirit anywhere we want. God I everywhere and wants us to praise and worship for we were made to worship Him. This reminds me of a song….

    “Lord, make me a house
Make me a house of prayer
    A house of prayer

May the fire on my altar never burn out
May the fire on my altar never burn out
May the fire on my altar never burn out
Make me a house of prayer”

Let’s build Him a house of Prayer!!! Praying without ceasing..

  19. 5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

God has already given POFW the desire to reach this region for his kingdom. We have built the 1st facility to hold the harvest, and another will be built as we grow. We have taken spiritual authority over this region and now we must go out and bring them in. This is witnessing, teaching, inviting and being sensitive to the Holy Ghost. It is revival time NOW.

  20. 1 In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom: (NLT)

God will always be true to His word and see it fulfilled. He is an on time God and will move those He calls to do His work.

  21. Our neighbors – Over and above

“The heads of the families of Judah and Benjamin, along with the priests and Levites—everyone, in fact, God prodded—set out to build The Temple of GOD in Jerusalem. Their neighbors rallied behind them enthusiastically with silver, gold, tools, pack animals, expensive gifts, and, over and above these, Freewill-Offerings.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭1:5-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I believe the neighbors of POFW will rally behind us as we impact this city. Not only are the resources we need here, there is over and above what we need. We will be able to impact more people, families, neighborhoods, communities and the city and region of FtWorth. Our focus can shift from the needs of this building to the needs of the people.

  22. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

The same question is posed to us today. Who among us our God’s people? If we are, we need to build the house of God.

But how do we build the house of God up? He isn’t referring to some physical temple that were built by human hands, but he refers to the temple that God lives in today. Us. His people that are called by his name. We build his house up by bringing more souls to his kingdom. So if you want to build up the house of God, then we all need to start reaching souls and telling them the good news of Jesus so God can live in them as well.

  23. 6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

    Free will offering

Would we be willing to give freely of our precious valuables? Why is it then when we come to church we do not praise him until we get pumped up enough to feel like it? Or until the praise leader begs us enough.

We need to understand it’s not about feelings or routine, but of who so ever will.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

God commands that we love him this way, one of those commands is your strength, you have to love God with every fiber in your being without reserve. David understood and that’s why he exuberantlay and demonstrately praise God, with all he had, that was his free will offering.

  24. Building up the Temple

1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia – this fulfilled the Message of God preached by Jeremiah – God prodded Cyrus king of Persia to make an official announcement throughout his kingdom. He wrote it out as follows:

2 From Cyrus king of Persia, a Proclamation: God, the God of the heavens, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. He has also assigned me to build him a Temple of worship in Jerusalem, Judah.

3 Who among you belongs to his people? God be with you! Go to Jerusalem which is in Judah and build The Temple of God, the God of Israel, Jerusalem’s God.

4 Those who stay behind, wherever they happen to live, will support them with silver, gold, tools, and pack animals,

along with Freewill-Offerings for The Temple of God in Jerusalem.

Everyone became involved Everyone Excited about Building the Temple
We Must keep an excitement for the Kingdom,!

5 The heads of the families of Judah and Benjamin, along with the priests and Levites – everyone, in fact, God prodded – set out to build The Temple of God in Jerusalem. 6 Their neighbors rallied behind them enthusiastically with silver, gold, tools, pack animals, expensive gifts, and, over and above these, Freewill-Offerings.

7 Also, King Cyrus turned over to them all the vessels and utensils from The Temple of God that Nebuchadnezzar had hauled from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his gods. 8 Cyrus king of Persia put Mithredath the treasurer in charge of the transfer; he provided a full inventory for Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah, including the following: 9 30 gold dishes 1,000 silver dishes 10 29 silver pans 30 gold bowls 410 duplicate silver bowls 1,000 miscellaneous items. 11 All told, there were 5,400 gold and silver articles that Sheshbazzar took with him when he brought the exiles back from Babylon to Jerusalem.

  25. Ezra 1:5 (NLT)
5 Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of the Lord.

Occasionally it is necessary for our hearts to be stirred to rebuild the temple.

We are the temple of the Holy Ghost and Yet still human. We deal with flesh and can become distracted, and lose focus. Life can get in the way and we start to slack.

Wisdom says it’s time to rebuild the temple: prayer life, bible reading, devotion, serving, and soul winning.

  26. v3 Who is there among you of His people? May his God be with him! Now let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel
( He is God ), which is in Jerusalem.

Praise GOD !!!! The HE IS GOD and we love HIM because of who HE IS…. our Creator and Sustainer of life ,our Savior and Redeemer. We respect and trust HIM as we surrender everything to HIM.

  27. In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and silver. Sheshbazzar brought all of these along when the exiles went from Babylon to Jerusalem.
    Ezra 1:11 NLT

Everything that the enemy took the Lord returned it all.

  28. “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying”. The word of God (Jesus) identifies why. One should always be mindful of whose word it is, and where it truly comes from. Dear God, stop the mouth of false prophets so that we may hear your word. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. “Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.” The Lord stirred their spirits to do as he wanted, which he still will do today; however we must be prepared. We should always be willing to do as the Lord wants, before self or another wants. God help us to do your will, in Jesus name.

  30. Cyrus was told by God to rebuild the temple. As a Persian, he was a Zoroastrian The beloved in a Holy God and were more monotheistic. The beloved in an evil God who opposed the Holy One. Academia believe that is where the Jews got the idea of Satan. Zoroastrians were peaceful to the Jews because of the similarities. Cyrus was a blessing for them.

Fun fact. Today there is less that 1000 Zoroastrians. The religion doesn’t not evangelize, you must be born into it. Some day, it will cease to exist.

  31. 1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

When we allow God to sir our spirits we will also allow Him to speak through us. It should be our pray for Him to sir us and speak through us.

  32. If God’s house is going to be built, it’s going to take some work. People who are dedicated to seeing the work of the Lord done.

  33. “Then everyone God had stirred up got ready to go. They wanted to go up to Jerusalem and build the Lord’s temple there. They included the family leaders of Judah and Benjamin. They also included the priests and Levites.”
    ‭‭Ezra‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬
Lord stir us …. then let’s go! We have souls to win.

  34. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

POFW has recently built a house for the Lord. It’s amazing to see what can be done for God when people work to get things done.

  35. 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Even the kings of this world know that there is a god who is placed them in their respective roles. They just don’t have as much revelation as to who Jesus really is, The Living God.

We need to teach everyone who Jesus is, and all He has done for us.

  36. 3Any of you who are his people may go to Jerusalem in Judah to rebuild this Temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives in Jerusalem. And may your God be with you!

We are his people, so we have the responsibility of growing our church. God expects us to reach out to others and make his church strong.
