13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.

23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.

24 After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.

25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.

26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.

27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.

28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.

29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.

30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.

31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

32 And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.

  1. Verse 1 in the CEV starts with “These are the people who helped…….. . We (POFW) are all being given an opportunity to help in some way or another in God’s kingdom. Our answer should be as the song “Yes, Lord, Yes” says:

    I’ll say yes, Lord, yes
To your will and to your way
    I’ll say yes, Lord, yes
I will trust you and obey
When your Spirit speaks to me
With my whole heart I’ll agree
And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes

Lord, I give you all the glory
    For all You’ve given me
You have filled my life until I overflow
All I have is yours to use
    In an anyway You choose
You are Lord of all, so how can I say no?

If I never knew the fullness
    of living in your will
I would never know how rich my life would be
Lord, my willingness to serve is the least that you deserve
for the blessings you have showered over me

  2. 28. Beyond the horse gate, each priest repaired the wall section in front of his own house. The Voice

Before we point out that someone else’s wall is broken down, perhaps we should make sure our own part of the wall is secure.

  3. “And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.”
    ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we army going to put our work to lord why work At all. God is seeking for his people to do the works of the kingdom and we don’t need to stand by.

  4. 6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

I know how this first is intended to be read and the others like it, but I read it that the old gate repaired Jehoiada. I cannot tell you how many times I have not been in the best of places and I have either come to outreach or to a children’s ministry event or to come teach or something like that and by doing the work of the Lord I was repaired, I was healed. There is something about doing the Lord’s work that restores and rejuvenates our souls and I think when we find ourselves so lost and broken we just need to rededicate ourselves to the house of the Lord and the work of the Temple and we can find that healing or we can find that answer or that rest or restoration that we’re longing for. God never does anything for only one reason and He’s not a greedy God… He might be jealous for us but he’s not greedy. He would not call us to his house to do his work just to serve one purpose. There are always so many blessings that come out of anything the Lord initiates. If you find yourself lost, broken, wounded, or hurting I encourage you to rededicate yourself to the work of the Lord. When we decrease ourselves that is when He has the most room to work in us, around us, and through us.

  5. 6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
Sometimes our hearts are like old gates , they need to be repaired and fixed we need God to work on us and repair us. I’m thankful for the repairing and restoration of the Holy Ghost!

  6. In this chapter we can see that no one was greater than the other and no one too great not to help rebuild. The same is today we are all servants of the King. And together in harmony we can and will have revival! We have one man of God with the vision and host of servants. Let’s Go Have Revival!

“”Be strong and very brave. Make sure you obey the whole law my servant Moses gave you. Do not turn away from it to the right or the left. Then you will have success everywhere you go. Never stop reading this Scroll of the Law. Day and night you must think about what it says. Make sure you do everything that is written in it. Then things will go well with you. And you will have great success.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  7. iLove to Grow in the Word
17Next to him, repairs were made by a group of Levites working under the supervision of Rehum son of Bani. Then came Hashabiah, the leader of half the district of Keilah, who supervised the building of the wall on behalf of his own district. 18Next down the line were his countrymen led by Binnui son of Henadad, the leader of the other half of the district of Keilah.

Can you imagine if today there was a book being written with our names written in it…Can you imagine that thousands of years down the road folks would read it to their children for devotional? It might go something like this:
And Timothy Martin who was over the Central Northeast flowerbed pulleth his weeds, and Nava over the flowerbed over the Northeast flowerbed pulleth his weeds (but only for a season), and the Johnson family sons and daughters and wife pulleth the weeds of his flowerbed (but Jessie the son of Michael pulleth not weeds for he was at war with the Philistines), and Morgan the son of Paul pulleth only small amount of weeds (for the Lord blessed him with few weeds), and Moore pulleth his weeds once every other month, and Jose son of Jose son of Jose pulleth weeds one time but he disappeareth not to be found, and Roman pulleth his weeds…

    Wow, what a book. lol

  8. This chapter is talking rebuilding a wall, but before we can start rebuilding our walls or complaining let’s repair our own walls. We as a whole need to work together in unity before we can reach and win anyone. If we as a church are in disarray why would we think anyone would want to come to our church? But when we are in unity people see that and want what we have.

  9. We all have our place, we all have jobs that must be fulfilled. Do them with a joyful and grateful spirit, do them wholeheartedly because He’s worthy that and so much more.

  10. 1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

3 things are taking place right here- 1 They are all working together, they are each separately working on something. 2 They all have the same goal in mind 3 They are restoring the temple.
There is something about when called people of God, collectively work on something together to restore. I believe this chapter is as well an allegory, while they were restoring the temple, it was restoring themselves as a nation, they were cleansing themselves from captivity and ungodly things they had been going through.

  11. Being repaired daily in the presence of God.
Everyone was working together there was a unity. Rebuilding not tearing down. Focusing on what had been set before them.
Receiving instruction and accepting the instruction so the walls could be rebuilt.

Instruction sometime is difficult. Being in the midst of building is always a challenge, daily. We have to continue building up and strengthen the walls so the enemy cannot destroy our walk with Giod.

  12. We all have to be repaired one way or another. The Lord has to remove and put things so we can be equipped for war. We have to remove everything that is not of him but that repairing takes time, patience, and sacrifice. This is why its important to see thongs in the spiritual because just like Pastor said we might not see it but God during the night.

  13. Nehemiah 3:1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests and they built the sheep gate they sanctified it and set up the doors of it even unto the tower of Meah they sacrificed it into the tower of Hananeel and next unto him builded the men of Jericho and next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri. But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build who also laid the beams thereof the locks thereof and the bars thereof.

  14. What you see in today chapter is everyone working together to rebuild the temple
As a church we must work together to

  15. REVIVAL NOW THROUGH UNITY

28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.

The REVIVAL (Rebuilding) was more effective and efficient as each Leader repaired the gate at their own house. It has been stated numerous times, “if you want REVIVAL, draw a circle around yourself and have when you have revive that circle, you have REVIVAL”.

This is the goal I am pressing for today, to REVIVE me and my HOUSE, spiritual and physical NOW. I am believing for REVIVAL in my house, my church, my city, my state, my nation, my world.

The POFW will experience unprecedented harvest as we GROW in REVIVAL in every house. Rebuild your Prayer Life, Rebuild your Worship, Rebuild your Commitment, Rebuild your Passion for JESUS and HIS Kingdom.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  16. “After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner. And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.”
    ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭3:31-kjv

  17. 6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

We rebuild our walls by prayer and fasting. When we hear the word of God by preaching we cannot get bitter at the man of God for delivering the word. We mist make sure our walls are not just up but is covered by the blood of God. If we dont
keep it repaired there are some unwanted things creeping in that you may not be aware of.
11Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

  18. Nehemiah 3:1-2 & 4-5
    1) Then Eliashib the high priest arose up with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep gate…
    2) And next unto him… And next unto them…
    4) And next unto them… And next unto them…
    5) And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD. (except for their nobles, who wouldn’t work with their master and refused to get their hands dirty with such work. MSG)

Eliashib was a good LEADER – he rose up and was out front LEADING by example and others followed. ( They were Submitted.)
But there is always going to be a few who will not work (not Submit) themselves to the LEADER or to the work of God’s kingdom.

  19. 32 The other goldsmiths and merchants repaired the wall from that corner to the Sheep Gate.

Another illustration of building, a process and instructions have to be followed for the wall to be built. All were united, ready and joyfully working together as a team.

  20. Nehemiah 3:32 (NLT)
32 The other goldsmiths and merchants repaired the wall from that corner to the Sheep Gate.

Walls keep the enemy out and also protects us from getting to them. Everyone had a place on the wall and were responsible for their part of the wall.

We have a responsibility to keep the enemy out of the church and us away from the enemy. We all play a role in this. Our prayers keep him out and our commitment to holiness keep us away from him.

When one person refuses to keep their part of the wall it causes the entire city to be vulnerable to attack.

    We all matter.

  21. “Next were the people from Tekoa, though their leaders refused to work with the construction supervisors.”
    ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“The Old City Gate was repaired by Joiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah. They laid the beams, set up its doors, and installed its bolts and bars.”
    ‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  22. thank you oh my Lord Jesus for safe my soul and repairing me make me in a strong wall en your Name will NOT be deferred , AMEN

  23. 12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

No mattet title status or position everyome worked on the house of the Lord

  24. 31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

32 And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.

  25. Every gate and craftsman matters.

Whether you are Malchiah assigned to work on the dung gate or Shallun assigned to repair the fountain gate; every gate and every person matters. It could be the gates were all different. Maybe each gate was built with different materials. Maybe, with different soil, terrain and environments that needed to be managed for the gates to be built strong and to last accordingly. If a mason was sent to work on a gate that was near water they might not take into consideration the materials needed to withstand the excess moisture.

Same goes for the sheep gate. Maybe there were actually sheep in the neighborhood that would require the gate to be sheep proof. Or maybe the sheep gate was to allow the sheep access but deter human traffic. The same philosophy can be applied to the people of POFW. Some people may be given want to work in the children’s ministry. Maybe that is not where they are supposed to be. Maybe they would be better suited in hospitality. Either way, there is a place and a season for each of God children. We were created with a purpose and a specialty. Find your purpose and serve to the best of your ability.

  26. Nehemiah 3:1 Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.
Nehemiah 3:32 and between the room above the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and merchants made repairs.

From the top to bottom, from the priest to the gold smith, each did there part to complete the rebuild. Every one might not be the pastor, but regardless of there background everyone one can still build Gods kingdom.

  27. This chapter helps us understand that we all have a place in His Kingdom. Yet, what will we do with the call? Will we go and fulfill His call or will it be said that we did not put our hands to WORK?

5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

It pointless to have a place and not tend to it.

  28. “And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.” The word of God (Jesus) records they would not work. They did not want to perform the work; however their presence alone suggests that there must have been a time in which they did. Therefore there may have been other diverse reasons why they did, or did not work; nevertheless God (the Judge) was aware of all and seen all, and will one day have the final say. Much can be accomplished with Christ like compassion; whereas the opposite will always, eventually produce the opposite. Dear God, help us to treat one another as you would, even when others do not see. God Bless America, Israel, Jerusalem, and you all in Jesus name, Amen!

  29. “From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.” Even though all was under repair, the task of their own house, was their own. We can and should be willing to work and repair as may be necessary; however we must be mindful too also set aside time to work and repair our own house, or rather ourselves. God help us to see the necessity of looking within, in Jesus name.

  30. “next unto him”
    “after him repairs”

After reading this chapter, it’s easy to say there is always work to do!

“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:24

Let us be diligent with what the Lord has trusted us with!

  31. Nehemiah first viewed the wall of Jerusalem and declared that they should rise up and build. They first started with the high priest Eliashib the high priest with his brothers built the Sheep Gate: they consecrated it first before they hung it’s doors. They started with consecration and worked in unity before they began building. The order they followed for rebuilding set the example for the rest to follow. When we work in the field others are watching us learning from us how to walk and lead others.

  32. 1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

Everything we place and let grow in our lives should be pleasant before the eyes of the Lord.

  33. Those that share in the building will rejoice in the fruits of it. Reminds me of something Sis Fielding said to me once: those that labor for the harvest will be the ones that truly rejoice over it when it comes. Those that watched won’t know the real joy of it.
