Job 8

1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

8 For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:

14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.

15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.

18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

  1. THE GOD OF HOPE IS JESUS

20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

Distractions are a continual temptation to the righteous. As faithful followers of JESUS we must discipline our minds to remain focused on loving and serving JESUS. GOD gives us opportunity to establish our FAITH in HIM, in return he gives us JOY for sorrow, DANCING for mourning and HOPE for hopelessness.

GOD will not assist evil doers, false accusers or vindictive avengers. GOD will not forget us, HE will be our HELP in time of need.

Forget not GOD in the good times and GOD will remember us in the bad times.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  2. iLove to Grow in the Word
Job 8:3-4 NLT Does God twist justice? Does the Almighty twist what is right? (4) Your children must have sinned against Him, so their punishment was well deserved.

Once again we see Job’s friends accusing him and his family of receiving the judgement that they deserve. This is not the case, we know Job and his family were righteous and just according to the law. They were not being punished but only tested. Be Careful not to point the finger at folks but use your hands to lift them up.

  3. 1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

If it were up to Job’s friends he would have given up and become just like them, but at some point in this trial he found the ability to believe and trust the Lord and put away all the negativity that had been sown into his life and he was a winner in the end.

There’s an old saying ” You are who you are and what you are by what goes into your mind, you can change who you are and what you are by changing what goes into your mind.”

Put away negativity, cut off those friends who don’t encourage you with the word but speaks against the things of God, and get in the Word so you can be like David and encourage yourself in the Lord.

  4. 19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

    This a word for me.

  5. 8 “Just ask the previous generation. Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors.
9 For we were born but yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.
10 But those who came before us will teach you. They will teach you the wisdom of old. (NLT)

Said it yesterday and will say it again, we need to realize life is a learning experience. You cannot and will not very stop learning. Everything new you do is something new you learn. Spiritually though are we really trying ourselves to learn new things? Young people we are ignorant compared to the wisdom of our elders, open your spirit and allow them to teach you!

  6. 12 Blossoming flowers look great before they’re cut or picked, but without soil or water they wither more quickly than grass. 13 That’s what happens to all who forget God – all their hopes come to nothing. 14 They hang their life from one thin thread, they hitch their fate to a spider web. 15 One jiggle and the thread breaks, one jab and the web collapses. 16 Or they’re like weeds springing up in the sunshine, invading the garden, MSG
To me this is saying you can’t have one foot in church and one foot in the world, it doesn’t work that way. You either are in 100% with God or you are playing with God. Don’t hang with people/friends that are not going to lead you to the cross, hang around people that will love you and lead you to the cross and show you God cares.

  7. 7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
We should not despise small beginnings God is in small beginnings and He grows things that start small. So don’t be afraid of being “small” let God grow you and develop you!

  8. 20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

God will is a man of his word we should be too!

  9. 20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

GOD care and loves us he said will never forsaken us all we need to do is reach out to god

  10. Job 8:7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

    We’ll meant

Pastor has taught to never say,”Thus sayeth the Lord”. If the Lord didn’t say anything. Anything that is felt to be said presumed from the HG, should always first be told to pastor before it reaches the person. If God has a word, He will confirm it through His anointed.

Job had good friends like most of us do. Well meaning that sometimes give there 2 cents without it being asked from them. If the word was first brought to my pastor and approved then I think I would receive it better. Which is not the case most of the time.

It would always be wise to allow our pastor in the loop before trying to speak into someone’s life.

  11. Verses 13-15 NLT “The same happens to all who forget God. The hopes of the godless evaporate. Their confidence hangs by a thread. They are leaning on a spider’s web. They cling to their home for security, but it won’t last.” Same verses MSG “That’s what happens to all who forget God—all their hopes come to nothing. They hang their life from one thin thread, they hitch their fate to a spider web. One jiggle and the thread breaks, one jab and the web collapses.” We must hold onto and build on the true foundation as 1 Corinthians 3:11 says “because Christ is the only foundation”.

Matthew 7:24-27 NLT “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

2 Timothy 2:19-21 CEV says “But the foundation that God has laid is solid. On it is written, “The Lord knows who his people are. So everyone who worships the Lord must turn away from evil.” In a large house some dishes are made of gold or silver, while others are made of wood or clay. Some of these are special, and others are not. That’s also how it is with people. The ones who stop doing evil and make themselves pure will become special. Their lives will be holy and pleasing to their Master, and they will be able to do all kinds of good deeds.”

  12. 2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

    4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

    5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

Its hard to see someone that is/was so on fire for the Lord that it seemed like they would never come down off the cloud, be in a down state, but to have friends that are willing to keep it all the way honest, not cut any corners, aint sweetening any pot, tell you how it is and make you realize that with God you can do all things and then on top of that get back what you lost! You cant ask for better friends. I love for people to tell me what I NEED TO HEAR not what I WANT TO! Thank you JESUS FOR LIFE!

  13. 6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

Again, Job has a friend who assumes that he is guilty and tells him that God will not cast away the perfect man…but assuming was wrong. We cannot know why the test or trial but we can encourage and lift one another up during it. Speak life into one another’s situations not defeat.

  14. Perfect?

20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

Noah, Job, David and Asa are four men who are referred to as good, perfect or friends of God. The bible does not state these men were sinless. Rather, the heart of these men was perfect with the Lord. The meaning of the word perfect changes depending on God’s relationship with His people at the time. What a father counts perfection in a ten year old is very different from a twenty year old.

We must be careful not to dismiss people are failures, outcasts or of no use. We must remember we do not see as God sees or think as He thinks. A heart that is perfect with God is passionate to His will and devoted to establishing a relationship. In God’s record of the lives of His servants there are some of whom it is written: his heart was perfect with the Lord his God.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

  15. 7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

8 For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

nothing: 1. pronoun: not anything; no single thing.
adjective: having no prospect of progress; of no value.

No value; sometimes I feel this way. There have been times where I felt of no help or value to myself or anybody. God has made me valuable and redeemed me from my own condemnation. I thank you Jesus for taking the nothing out of my life and filling me with worth, love, mercy, and grace.

  16. Job 8:11-13 (MSG)
    11) Can mighty pine trees grow tall without soil? Can luscious tomatoes flourish without water?
    12) Blooming flowers look great before they’re cut or picked, but without soil and water they wither more quickly than grass.
    13) That’s what happens to all who forget God – all their hopes come to nothing.

    “But without Soil and Water”
Without the nutrients of soil and water, plants will die.
The same is true for a christian. JESUS is the Bread of Life and the Fountain of Living Water, and without JESUS in our lives, we will die. You need the WORD (soil) and the HOLY GHOST (water) to LIVE! You Need JESUS!!

So people who forget God lose their hope because they fail to Read His Word and live in the Joy of the Holy Ghost.

Ps. 39:7 (NLT) says, “And so, LORD, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.”

  17. Job 8:20 (MSG)
20 “There’s no way that God will reject a good person,
and there is no way he’ll help a bad one.

It’s amazing how many times people are quick to say what God will or won’t do, but won’t take the time to get in the word and find out for sure. We limit God when we try and place him in a box of our understanding.

Like Prophet Guy said “if you are trying to figure him out then you have already messed up.”

God isn’t to be figured out. God is to be trusted. He brought us this far and will not fail us.

    Hebrews 13:5 (KJV Strong’s)
5b …he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

  18. But look God will not cast away a good man nor prosper evil doers. He will fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame and the wicked destroyed.

  19. 20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

He turns our mourning into dancing. He gives us joy. God is our help and our refuge and they that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  20. ““If your children have sinned against Him, Then He has handed them over to the power of their transgression and punished them. “If you would [diligently] seek God And implore the compassion and favor of the Almighty, Then, if you are pure and upright, Surely now He will awaken for you And restore your righteous place.”
    ‭‭JOB‬ ‭8:4-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I’m glad I serve a God who knows all. He doesn’t accuse or assume. What He says is absolute. He is faithful and righteous.

  21. Job 8:11 Can papyrus reeds grow tall without a marsh?
Marsh =Mire- dark substance, the fermenting and the dying of once living things now soaked and crushed together into what seems to be a rotting mess and a mass of mud. Storms raged through the woods, lightning has struck the tree limbs, leaves and bark has fallen into the water, limbs have splintered and have blown into the low marsh, only to lay there and die. Rain has fallen and washed over it, over and over again. Mire is the coagulation of life that has died to give life, to give life to something that has not yet lived.
The answer is a resounding, no, the rush cannot grow without the mire. There is no growth without the mire, without the muck and the mess. This is only grow from the mire. Everything beautiful comes from some roots: a dark, dirty, and damp worm infested mud. It must have some sort of ingredient in it that has the nutrition to cause something to prosper, and become what you are. Growth doesn’t come with some storms, and mire. You can’t live without the mud, without the mire. You can’t become what you going be without some dirty messy situations, some where there is an umbilical cord connecting you to a dying situation. You can’t become a happy momma with what you used to have. But something has to die. Something had to be lost because when something is lost it becomes the nutrients of what makes us what we are. One of the only positive statements Bildad made, he was the one telling Job to just curse God and die, but at that moments Gods man Job needed a word, and he brought it to him through a man he least expected. He said out of the earth others shall grow. People at work see you go through things and when out of your dying situation, something starts to live. Paul said I die daily. The nature of the church is that you don’t live to yourself but to bring life to those who have never lived. The slimy circumstances are the birthing ground and the feeding ground for something strong and living that will produce a whole new civilization called the church. The Gospel was intended to create out of us a self-sacrificing, self-denying, self-giving church. We were meant to be a part of His life and apart of his death.

  22. 22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

The wicked can only hide for so long for eventually they will be found out. You can deceive man but you can never deceive God and one day He will uncover your top secret location to a faithful payer warrior and they drive you out.

  23. 9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

The time we have on the Earth is so rapid. Our time comes and goes and there will be one day where everything we did here on Earth will be brought upon us. I want the Lord to tell me very well my good and faithful servant. I want to see the Lord and be in His precense forever. Lord help me obey your commands!!! Thank you Lord for saving me.

  24. “For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭8:8, 11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes it is difficult to be in the place of the more and remember the rush. The growth through the pain is where we need to focus. Look back on the examples set forth for us. The pain of elders, friends, and other Biblical examples. This will show that we too can grow when pain surrounds our situations.

  25. 22. They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

    Luke 6:
22.Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

    23. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

  26. 20“But look, God will not reject a person of integrity, nor will he lend a hand to the wicked.

As long as your faithful to God, he will not leave your side. God wants us to honor, worship and give him glory, in return he will guard and bless us.
