Job 11

1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

12 For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass’s colt.

13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

  1. TRUST IN THE LORD JESUS

    18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
    19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

    Fear and intimidation are the most favored tactics of the adversary. The plan of satan is to destroy our HOPE in GOD. However as the friend of Job declares to him a plan of judgement here, we realize that he is actually revealing the HOPE that Job should have in JESUS.

    Because there is HOPE. We should be secure, we should rest in safety, we should not be afraid.

    HOW

    13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

    Cleanse our hearts of lust, hate, sin, anger, malice and unforgiving. Reach with our hands to SERVE JESUS.

    Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
    2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
    3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
    4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
    5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

    I am looking for BLESSINGS in 2017. See ya at church tonight.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

  2. 7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

    The Psalmist wrote “search me oh Lord, know my ways….. ”
    This is relationship – when we can search out the ways if the Lord
    And then ask Him to search our hearts in return and see if there be any wicked ways in us. Those who know their God in this manner know there is suffering along the journey but there is also comfort, joy, and peace

  3. 18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
    19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

    Be still. And know that he is God. Be secure in your thoughts and actions. Pray and fast. God is the way maker.

  4. 18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

    19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

    Security comes from resting in His presence. Oh Lord let me continually know You. Yea tho I walk thru the shadow of death I will fear no evil! You are my rest, you are my comfort, you are my safety.

  5. iLove to Grow in the Word

    In order to understand what Job is really going through here, we must understand that Job’s friends are speaking truth…but that truth is not for Job at this time in his life. They are speaking truth out of season. You might say, “Brother Morgan, How can you say that?” The answer is easy.

    Job 42:7 NLT After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, He said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about Me, as My servant Job has.

  6. 14 Get rid of your sins,
    and leave all iniquity behind you.
    15 Then your face will brighten with innocence.
    You will be strong and free of fear.

    Amen what else do we want if we want to be free we must get rid of all our sins. Lord help me be pure and cleansed, help me be sensitive to your spirit. Renew Me Lord!!!!

  7. Job 11:7-9 (AMP)
    7) Can you discover the depths of God? Can you (by searching) discover the limits of the Almighty (ascend to His heights, extend to His widths, and comprehend His infinite perfection)?
    8) His wisdom is as high as the heights of heaven. What can you do? It is deeper than Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead). What can you know?
    9) It is longer in measure (and scope) than the earth, and broader than the sea.

    Roman’s 11:33, “O the depth and riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and His ways past finding out.”

  8. Job 11:4 You say to God my beliefs are flawless and I am pure in your sight. Oh how I wish that God would speak that he would open his lips against you and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom for ture wisdom has two sides. Know this God has even forgotten some of your sins

  9. 13 “If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer!
    14 Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you.
    15 Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear. (NLT)

    Wondering why you feel weak and hopeless? Chances are it’s the separation you have built between you and God. Repent and seek God wholeheartedly, draw closer to Him and He will strengthen you. Such freedom from God is unexplainably joyous and beautiful!

  10. 13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

    14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

    In in order to effectively live and serve the lord, we have to get rid of those wicked things that are in our lives hindering us from doing the work of God.

  11. 7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

    8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

    We can search forever and dig as deep as possible but we will never fully know God to perfection. He is so deep so wide so long , he is greater than anything we will ever know. But nonetheless we should seek him with our whole hearts because whosoever hunger and thirst after righteous shall be filled.

  12. 6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

    Thank you Jesus for MERCY

  13. Verses 13-18 AMP “If you direct your heart [on the right path] And stretch out your hands to Him, If sin is in your hand, put it far away [from you],
    And do not let wrongdoing dwell in your tents; Then, indeed, you could lift up your face [to Him] without moral defect, And you would be firmly established and secure and not fear. “For you would forget your trouble;
    You would remember it as waters that have passed by. “And your [c]life would be brighter than the noonday; Darkness [then] would be like the morning. “Then you would trust [with confidence], because there is hope;
    You would look around you and rest securely.” Same verses CEV “Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer, and give up your sins—even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless. Your troubles will go away like water beneath a bridge, and your darkest night will be brighter than noon. You will rest safe and secure, filled with hope and emptied of worry.” Psalm 62:5 NLT “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.

  14. 3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

    4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

    5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

    6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

    Exact: 1. To demand or right. Princes exact obedience of their subjects. The laws of God exact obedience from all men.
    2. To demand of necessity; to enforce a yielding or compliance; or to enjoin with pressing urgency.

    Man what a good chapter; I have let others exact revenge on me. I have allowed man to walk on me. I now want to learn the secrets of wisdom; man has no dominion over me. I have been reborn into the kingdom of the everlasting Father. God has pulled me out of the pit of darkness and revealed the light to me. I know that there is still work to be done within, but with Jesus guiding me; the iniquity that I feel is diminishing within my heart. Thank you Jesus…….Amen!!!

  15. 13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
    14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
    15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

    The key to finding God is found in these words, even though Job didn’t need to hear them at this time.

  16. Job 11:13-15 (MSG)
    Reach Out to God
    13 “Still, if you set your heart on God
    and reach out to him,
    14 If you scrub your hands of sin
    and refuse to entertain evil in your home,
    15 You’ll be able to face the world unashamed
    and keep a firm grip on life, guiltless and fearless.

    Wise words. Sin is messy. It will mess up you, your family, and your home. God wants us to be focused on him and free of the influence of sin. Power comes to those who are pure before him and willing to do his will.

    James 4:8 (KJV Strong’s)
    8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

  17. 13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
    14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
    15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
    16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

    Even when our friends give us what sounds like sound advice, it might not be as sound as it sounds.

  18. 14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

    15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear

    Repent… Hit the reset button.

  19. 14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

    Sin should always be far from us. Holiness is the way to get to heaven. Any other way is not God’s way.

  20. 5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

    Words hurt but if God spoke against me I would be devistqtrd.

  21. 19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee

    He may not be correct that Job needs to repent of sin. Jobs attitude however does need to change. We however, have peace knowing that God is in control and we can lay down and rest knowing we are right with God. When we repent no one can intimidate us. God lifts up that standard against the enemy.

  22. Job 11:1-3 Then Zophar the Naamathite replied: “Are all these words to go unanswered? Is this talker to be vindicated? Will your idle talk reduce others to silence? Will no one rebuke you when you mock?

    Zophar, this is the first time that he responds to Job. He seems to be the most dogmatic in his response. He answers him assertive and strong, almost sound indignant.

  23. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: (Job 11:15 KJV)

    We can lift up our heads knowing that God forgives us of our sins. We will be with out spot or blemish because his blood washes us. Afterward their will be peace, enough to rest at night knowing God is in control.

  24. 14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

    We should learn to inventory ourselves to determine if there is sin in our lives that may not be apparent. Maybe we have not committed murder or adultery but likely we have not been perfect either. It could be there is some bitterness or unforgiveness that needs to be dealt with. Maybe there is laziness that needs to be addressed. It could be there are some lurking urges that need attention before they fester into a more dangerous situation.

    This week is the perfect opportunity to inventory ourselves and clean house.

  25. “You claim, ‘My beliefs are pure,’ and ‘I am clean in the sight of God.’ If only God would speak; if only he would tell you what he thinks! If only he would tell you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom is not a simple matter. Listen! God is doubtless punishing you far less than you deserve!”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭11:4-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    “Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. The words of the godly encourage many, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:19-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  26. 2 “Shouldn’t someone answer this torrent of words? Is a person proved innocent just by a lot of talking?

    I have met many individuals who are all talk but no action. They love talking, and they can top your story no matter what. They actually believe their own stories. Yes, God wants you to talk to him, but he wants to see your actions of working for his kingdom also.
